I visited American Way Smokehouse this weekend for some BBQ, but came out enjoying the entire experience! Before even stepping into the building, I was excited because the outside looked like something from a Western movie. There was plenty of parking, and from the parking lot being majority-filled, I knew this would be a good stop. You can also see the outdoor seating from the parking lot, and it was filled with a couple families. The walk in directs you straight to the smokehouse/restaurant. You order at the counter, and then you either get a seat number and choose a seat or wait at the counter for pick up. There was a decent sized menu of bbq options, sides and drinks. The dessert display was filled with what looked to be DELECTABLE goodies! :) (this is what I'd try when I come back, FOR SURE!). I ordered the double meat platter with a half rack of ribs and brisket. The sides were chose were baked beans and Mac and cheese. The platter came with the two rolls, as well. This was to share with one other person. I'd say the ribs were okay, not my favorite! The brisket, on the other hand, had a PERFECT Smokey taste. The Mac and cheese was okay and so were the baked beans (they were super sweet, if that's what you're going for!). Add the regular bbq sauce on the side for dipping and you've got a tasty meal! After dining, we were able to go around the antique shop in the back. It was HUGE! And it kept GOING AND GOING! There here vendors of all sorts from furniture to home goods to jewelry to clothes/shoes. There's a little something for everyone here! There was even a hidden (I guess not hidden if you know about it), second hand, vintage clothing store in the very back. I didn't walk out with anything, but it was as worth the window shopping! The exit was through the antique shop near the cash wrap. Overall, the experience was lovely. The food was in the mid range for me, but I'd come back for dessert and the shopping.

80s songs plays on the background. There's indoor and outdoor table seating. It was a beautiful day therefore went with their outdoor seating. There's a bit of flies outdoors. I had to fight for my food, lol. Cute chair swings outside seating. Don't forget to grab utensils and sauces before seating. Yeah, I forgot. I came inside placed my order and was given a number, it is open seating. Staff recommended the beef brisket or pulled pork as their popular menu items. I went with the beef brisket. The sandwich didn't look as good as it tasted once I added the spicy bbq sauce. I combined the spicy with original testing the hotness. It was mild. The spicy taste the best. The sandwich came with a pickle and coleslaw. All was delish. I haven't had an Italian cream soda in so long! I ordered raspberry. Staff advised the strawberry is the most popular. I liked that it was not overwhelmingly sweet. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. It was delish too. I like they slightly burn the cheese on top, gives it a smoky flavor.

In my opinion, this small business located inside the American Way Smokehouse still has the best cookies around! The Tattered Apron baking company produces in small batches made from scratch. To update my review the cookies cost $5 each. The seasonal pumpkin, lemon poppy seed, sugar and chocolate chip flavors were calling my name. I ended up choosing the oatmeal butterscotch and didn't regret it! Fresh, soft and delicious. I'd buy this variety again!

A must try if your in the chandler area. besides the food being good the restaurant is connected to an antique store which adds to the vibe. service is good, always help in answer questions about 5he menu. As for the food, we got pastrami sandwiches, mac&cheese and tri-tip chil. Everything turned out great.

So for my birthday, I wanted to go try a place I had never been before and my girlfriend agreed. I saw this place a while back on the morning news show I watch and they were RAVING ABOUT IT. It's fairly close to us so we decided to go after we went to a movie. The place is cool enough inside and the decor is extremely unusual because it's part of an antique store! The guy that helped us was unique as well. We think his name is Drew but not sure. I'm not sure why this kid was the face of the establishment and the one running the register and helping customers because, to me, he had the personality of the buns the sandwiches came on. I especially didn't understand because there was another guy, Micah, who was the friendliest, most outgoing, happiest person I've come across in a long time! He was AWESOME! Anyway, so we ordered our food, a pulled pork sandwich, a Cuban Club sandwich, and a 2 meat platter with chicken and ribs. I'm not sure what all the hype was about because the all of the food was pretty flavorless. The ribs were not only NOT fall off the bone but they seemed way over cooked, hard, and hard to eat. They were not even as good as the ones we got once from the grocery store when it was the last rack available. The chicken was so dry, that I struggled even swallowing the piece I tried. That meal came with Mac N Cheese and my girlfriend was going to put salt on it because it had so little flavor. The Cuban Club sandwich was barely eaten because it was not good. The pulled pork, again, dry, dry, dry, dry, dry. The slaw was weird and the potato salad didn't taste like potato salad at all. We got some of their cakes (deserts) because it was my birthday and we took them home, well they were dry and heavy and after a couple bites (one from each of us) they went into the trash as a lesson learned. I have to say, the only part of this meal that was tolerable was the free water we had, luckily it seemed filtered. This seems like one of those places that, because of its backdrop and because the news decided to feature it, it became a fad that people go to just because they saw it on the news. For $60 for the meals and another $25 for the deserts we tried, I will never return here for a meal NOR would I recommend anyone else do that.

This food was AMAZING. As someone raised in the south, I was surprised to find such good bbq in AZ, and I love that it's connected to the antique store as well. The service was awesome, the woman working there was very sweet and nice and the combo of antiquing/great food makes an excellent vibe and ambiance. They have a selection of (what seems to be house made) bbq sauces at the tables, each so delicious that I didn't want the meal to end lol. If you want a cute afternoon to shop, eat, and beat the heat all in one place, check this place out for sure!

Came with friends. Looks unassuming. You order at the counter, grab a table and they bring the food to you, pretty quickly. The ribs were very meaty and delicious, some of the best ribs we have had in Arizona. The brisket was also great, very lean. The baked beans were also great. The Tri tip arugula salad was also delicious. And the half portion side was very large. We will definitely be coming back.

Sauces on the table. Original was very "sweet baby rays", which I like :)

As a long time Texan, I was honestly skeptical of Arizona BBQ... but after a long conversation with the cashier, I settled on the Market Dip sandwich with fatty brisket. The brisket definitely delivered. I will be ordering a brisket plate next time to maximize my spend. But highly recommend the brisket sandwich and can't wait to try the tri tip next.

As a vegetarian- I really appreciate the BBQ Jackfruit sandwich option here. I'm from South Carolina, and I'd never heard of such a thing before moving here. The pastries are also very impressive, and even though the sandwich always fills me up, I like taking one to-go. The staff is always friendly, and the line moves quickly. I'm not usually big on counter service, but for this place it works. Make sure you go on a day when you have time to look around the antique market.

The only great thing about this place is the antique store. I would give that place alone 5 stars but unfortunately it is connected to the American Way Smokehouse which was absolutely awful and disappointing. The potatoe salad was not edible, the Mac and cheese had 0 flavor. I got the 2 meat combo with chicken and ribs which were both dry. All of the desserts were dry and seemed old. Definitely not worth $90 bucks. The staff wasn't that great either at the restaurant side. I will be back to the antique shop but the restaurant never again.

We stopped by the Merchant Square antique mall today and had lunch here. Now, I'm not normally a fan of BBQ because it's usually way too sweet. But here you add the sauce you want and it's not too sweet. We loved it! I had the smoked Turkey sandwich. Havarti cheese dill aioli, lettuce & Turkey on sourdough bread. It really hit the spot! Others had the smoked brisket and a tuna sandwich. They both expressed the same thing. Yum! As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

The most amazing bakery! Cookies are the best! The brownies are not to be missed! My favorite was the breakfast cookie! Staff is so helpful! Don't miss this place!

My mom suggested we stop in for lunch today. It's. a really cute restaurant with vintage signs and decor. There was plenty of comfortable seating. Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. We both chose brisket sandwiches. The bun was of superb quality. The sauce was good. The brisket and slaw were okay. The service was superb! The prices were reasonable. Lunch was filling so we ordered cookies to go. There were so many options making it difficult to make a decision. I tried the chocolate chip walnut and peanut butter. They were soft and flavorful! Absolutely great cookies! They also had scones and brownies. I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in the area!

    Great service!

This is the worst cobbler I've ever had! 3/4 of it is nothing but crappy crust. There's very little peach in it. This is 1/2 of the quart I got that came in the Styrofoam cup in the picture for $19. After looking at the receipt again I was irritated by the insane cost of the worst ribs ever. $63 for a rack of babyback ribs is the highest in town. Most places get $32 to $38 a rack. I admit that I made the mistake of going here, but never again! My efforts to try their smoked prime rib was a worthless journey. I call about 10 times looking for medium rare prime rib, and they never had it. They didn't have it the day they told me they did. I asked for a pound and a half of prime rib, and I got 3/4 that was only slightly pink in the very center. It was cold and had no aju, and no juice whatsoever in the meat! There wasn't even much smoke flavor at all. Worst prime rib ever! There's much better BBQ around for much less money!
