I went to Scoot in my chair and the top of the chair was broken and somehow I put my finger in between the seat and the bottom of the chair and SMASHED my finger. Staff was nice and attentive. Food is okay. Gyro was kind of dry. Needed more sauce, but the meat was good. Could have used some for the price. My husband and I had a wonderful server there, I think her name was Jordan and she remembered us and our convo even though it had been months since our last visit. I hope she is still there! Tonight I tried to use an offer from Facebook that I was skeptical about using. Of course I screwed it up, because I didn't quite understand how it was meant to be used, but a nice lady, that may have been the manager, was quick to help and take care of me! The man I spoke to on the phone about it was also very nice and told me to just show them the offer when I got there. Another excellent Pita Jungle experience! So many folks, peers and everyone have recommended pita jungle. I had a terrible hankering for jalepeno hummus. We ordered a gyro platter son ordered a gyro and we requested a large cilantro lime jalepeno hummus. We also ordered the standard plain iced tea. The sadness begins, regular iced tea is hibiscus flowered tea. A salad filled gyro arrived that son devoured, no onions no tomato no tzatziki. The chicken and rice and burned broccoli that arrived had the most off-putting smell it was not what we ordered and completely unpalatable.. no hummus and no waitress ever arrived. The Pita Jungle is a locally based chain featuring a Mediterranean inspired menu. I was introduced to their cuisine by a friend, shortly after I moved to the valley back in 2009. And I've been enjoying their offerings ever since. I was happy to see them expand into both Tucson and Flagstaff. Meanwhile, I've eaten at several of their locations in and around Phoenix. Consequently, I can say without hesitation, that the consistency of the food, from one Pita Jungle to the next, is remarkable! And recently, I had the pleasure of introducing another good friend of mine, and my oldest son, to the Pita Jungle near Mesa Community College. The weather lately has been gorgeous, so we all agreed to eat on the patio. The service was both hospitable and relaxed. That's the general vibe you can expect at a Pita Jungle. And per usual, the service was excellent! I've enjoyed nearly everything on the menu. So I suggested the hummus sampler which featured three kinds of hummus (regular, cilantro-jalapeño and roasted bell pepper), cucumbers, olives, and Pita bread. Needless to say, it's probably the best vegan appetizer you're likely to try. And I love meat! I selected a gyro, which is typical, however, I tried the Roasted Chicken Shawarma for a change. It was just as excellent as any other gyro I've enjoyed here. My company also enjoyed their choices and their first visit. The most remarkable thing about Pita Jungle, besides the incredible flavors offered across the menu, is that it's all fresh, very healthy, and heavy on vegan offerings.
