This is one of the nastiest quick service restaurants I have ever been in, and that alone warrants one star. The place is filthy, and I'm not even counting the bathrooms in that description, which were even worse. I love coming here, we had one in a nearby city in California and it had always been consistent and delicious. After we had a disappointing experience with a restaurant next door my Mama and I walked over here and ordered a chicken souvlaki pita and added hummus. 6/23/2022 Showed up at 9:18 to get Pita Pit. Online the hours are till 1:00AM. Soon as I go to open door younger girl maybe mid 20s is taking 3 peoples order. Also a couple sitting down eating. She ways me off at the locked doors telling me they are closed. I looked at the paper on the door for their new operation hours. Clearly states all week till 11:00PM. Both open signs were lit up like Christmas. But she still waves me off as closed. Hope this review makes it to the manager and employee gets disciplined. She was rude and uncalled for. read more

I fancy a palate-pleasing gyro (pronounced "yee-roh" people, not "jy-ro"), so if a sandwich shop has one, I am always game to try it! The Pita Pit packs their pita with fresh vegetables and savory Mediterranean gyro meat, so it is quite tasty! Of course there are others out there that truly take the cake, but if you are looking for one on the run and do not have time to dine-in at a Greek & Lebanese restaurant, this is a great place! I wanted to visit LSU and my dad and I decided on Pita Pit for something healthy, quick, cheap, and filling. And we got all 4 of those! My dad was annoying (dad's AMIRITE?) and confusing and didn't understand the process and such lolzz. But nonetheless, the guys were cool and accomodated my dad's thousand requests. It's pretty simple Subway-ish style. You order the main comoponent ie falafal on wheat and then once your falafels are ready, you can fill it up with whatever the f you want. Including "off the grill" option which is sauteed instead of fresh veggies. Even avocado fo freee holla! They have plenty of fresh stuff to add and lots of cheeses and sauces. Somehow pita pit as a chain in general hadn't really been upto the mark. It has elevated itself from the McDonalds level but is still trying to catch upto a standard. Why? It's menus keep changing but there is not much to it. * pita - the size of the Pitas I believe are fine. They could be a bit bigger to stuff in a lot more veggies and things. Since the size is merely reasonable it's kinda not optimal on money. They give a pita for 7.50$ with tax. I went with a reasonable hunger and I was just about satisfied. Could eat 1/4th more. Maybe. * the meat options - they have gyro(beef), beef fajita, chicken in a variety of styles (which I think is great - healthy and proteins). I thought the gyro filling was less. Maybe I am expecting too much but then it's not a 5$ thing. It's still reasonable money. * they have humus - plain and basil one. I like the basil one. Or maybe it's the tomato one. Don't know. Just that it looks red. Lol. Fill it in pita and it can become filling. * tzatziki in your pita also is good. I don't like to add mayo etc. this makes it moist. And goes well with siracha. Makes it moist and spicy without a lot of calories. * don't like lettuce. So I usually go with spinach. They have some veggies options. Much like a subway. Nothing extravagant. That's one reason I shy away from these chains. The salad shop. That's a lot of veggies. * the place is near chimes and the inside is kinda awkwardly set up. Maybe it's just because of space. Oh pita pit how I love the fact that you are open till 3am and serve $1 PBR tall cans. I wind up here more often than not after a night of drinking despite the fact that Raising Cains and Louis Cafe are usually also open at the same time. I somehow always convince myself that you will be the healthier choice compared to the other two options available within a few short blocks, but I always seem to order the most unhealthy thing on the menu and then ask for it to be covered with extra cheese and dressing. Unfortunately I have never been here not-drunk so I can't truly comment on the quality or deliciousness of your food without expressing that caveats. When you are drunk this place is amazing, so if you are pre-gaming it, it is a great place to go. If you leave the bar and need some food after also a great place to go. What can I say pita pit, I have such fond memories. On the top of my list was watching someone puke on the tables on your patio at 2:30am. Picture this, the vomit ran through the wire mesh directly on to his legs and the ground. Nice workers but the place is so dirty and unsanitary. No hair nets, one girl has in a bandanna instead of a mask and wearing a crop top while preparing food. Another girl has on a hoodie that's covered with god knows what looks like stains and I hope it's stains from today's pitas but they look kinda old. The worlds need aprons at least and proper masks since they're dealing with other people's food. Not even just the workers there is food everywhere all over the counters and floors, there are no utensils so workers are just scooping things up with their hands in lose fitting gloves. This is one my favorite lunch spots and it is great! The atmosphere. The great food choices; I get the Tiger club. It has bacon, turkey and avocado.Ymm! The vegetables are extremely fresh. Oh and how could I forget the pita. Chose either white or wheat. It is warmed to perfection. The prices are comparable to Subway, however, the staff is much nicer and the ingredients look fresher. Because this is one of the best late night spots in BR, but you have to take it for what it's for. It's a late night spot on a college campus and the food is fresh and good. The variety of Pita options are a plus and it's made fresh right in front of you. The veggies are always fresh and the guys that are always here working (the same faces) are prepared to handle the long line that is always present at Pita Pit. The bathrooms are always clean (a plus when coming from a night of partying) and they stay open late for the cravings that hit you at odd hours of the night. It's just like walking into a Subway where there's an assembly line of people throwing together a panoply of pita-wrapped sandwiches. Some are just like any sandwich shop (club, turkey, veggie). Some are more like a Mediterranean place, with gyro or falafel. Generally the service was fast for a very busy lunch period right off LSU's campus. But the food was mediocre. I had the falafel pita with feta cheese and many veggies. It was filling but not much flavor. My companion had the club, which he deemed o.k. The sandwiches are large and filling for sure, but for about the same money one can hike down Aster street to Atcha Bakery for a great deal more authenticity in the pita and gyro department. read more

Decided to visit Pita Pit by campus today as I haven't been since before the pandemic. Ordered at 12:50pm, didn't get food until 1:20pm. Order was not correct. Instead of having them remake the pita, I opted to take a refund because who knows how long a new pita would have taken. Not sure what has happened over the pandemic. I was bummed! They used to be very timely and somewhat friendly. Not sure if it was new or inexperienced staff. I'm not trying to throw anyone under the bus, but I think the owner(s) should be made aware of the issues to make the necessary changes. I certainly don't want Pita Pit to go away, but I can't say I'm inclined to visit any time soon until changes are made. read more

I got off work late and was starving. I didn't feel like cooking and had no desire to supersize anything. I pulled out my trusty yelp app and discovered this little nugget of of joy. Instead of ordering delivery, I opted to drive in since I was unaware of the concept. The place looked like it had just gotten rocked by a solid group of drunken teenagers. I felt pretty badly for the staff. They were very friendly and helpful despite the hurricane that had just passed through the restaurant. I ordered the Dagwood (turkey, ham and prime rib) and put hummos, corn, black beans, romaine, spinach and tatziki sauce on it! Woohoo! Man I am in hog heaven!
