I was excited to visit this restaurant again, it's been many years since I've been here. It was one of my favorite go to's after a day of being at the beach or walking around the downtown area of Coeur d'Alene. The service was good with nice people behind the counter. The store seemed clean and organized. The food was good but seemed a bit dry. I definitely needed more sauce and feta! I would recommend asking for extra sauce to fix this problem. Friday night in downtown coeurdalane, being the only empty food place, we should have taken that as a sign Basically you're ordering a pita bread stuffed with lettuce with an occasional bite with protein in it. And it's small portions on top of that. The wife and I shared a bacon ranch chicken and a super Greek. We ordered extra sauce in the spice to go on top of the bites of lettuce . Felt like I needed salad dressing. Kids weren't a fan either. When a 9 year old makes the comment that she's done because she wanted more than lettuce in her wrap and she ordered meet in her wrap and couldn't find any, you know it's a problem . Got the classic chicken pita, it leads you on like this is a Greek place, but it's not really at all. I'd probably look for another Greek restaurant if that's the food you want. They gave me more of a chicken burrito. Don't get the falafel bites, you get like 4 of them on this salad base. Very misleading from the pictures shown. Pita Pit was a go-to for quick and healthier fast food when I lived in Spokane, so while visiting Coeur d'Alene recently I decided to stop in for a quick bite. This location is centrally located on Sherman Ave in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Parking on Sherman is usually tough to find, but there is plenty of free parking on the surrounding side streets. It was a gorgeous day, so the patio seating was taken, however there is ample seating inside. I had placed my order via the app and received an offer for a free Greek Grilled Cheese, so I decided to give it a try. My order was ready by the time I arrived and I quickly dug in! As I'm accustomed to more of the fresh ingredients associated with Pita Pit, I wasn't totally sold on the grilled cheese. Was it delicious? Yes, but it was also a bit heavy. The crispy cheese on the exterior of the pita has a deep, umami flavor that definitely elevated the sandwich. You can pick 3 extra ingredients, so I selected tomatoes and pickles to cut through the richness of the cheese. That's what I typically do for a traditional grilled cheese too. I'm glad I did and it did give a bit of reprieve from the greasy cheese. All this being said, if you are craving a grilled cheese, this will absolutely hit the spot! Next time I think I'll go back to a pita sandwich with lots of fresh veggies though lol. read more

Great mango tango smoothie. The yogurt does not overpower the fruit flavor and I don't taste the yogurt at all. Classic Greek with chicken souvlaki was also amazing. We used to come to this Pita Pit location on a weekly basis in 2022 and 2023. Then we took a break and returned for the first time yesterday (Sept 2025). The staff was very friendly and accommodating so I want to give credit there! But we were not satisfied with the quality of the pita sandwiches that we received. It used to be WAY better a few years ago. I got the Mediterranean with chicken and my husband got the Gyro. There was hardly any meat in mine and the flavor was lacking! My husband said his was not as flavorful either, even with extra tzatziki sauce. Also, the pitas used to be bigger and I could hardly finish them. This place is good if you DONT GET GLUTEN FREE TORTILLA you will be scammed. My sister and I both got the gluten free tortilla and its suuuuuper small and rips easy so they put less food inside and even then they can barely fold it together after. Either get wheat tortilla or get your food in salad style with the tortilla on the side that way you dint get jipped. Other then that the food was really yummy i love the falafels. Worse experience I have ever had here. I got there around 2am with a group of people. Ordered a bowl. Took a while then the girl at the countered asked me about it and no news for about an hour. Saw about 20 people get there food before me and I go up to the counter and saw a bowl sitting there ask if this was mine and the girl was like yeah. Didn't eat it just left it there. I was really craving a gyro and this place hit the spot. They have traditional style and modern fillings such as Thai chicken. Small size is $5.50 and large is $7.50. Meat amount is 2oz vs 4oz respectively. i got the large and it was pretty filling. They are wrapped in pita bread like a burrito not a regular gyro, and you can get it toasted if you'd like. You can easily customize your fillings mostly at no extra cost unless you want extra meat for $2. I got extra tzatziki and swiped out spinach for romaine. Delicious, fresh and cheap.
