Hands down one of the best Falafel places in Folsom. My family and I went here for lunch today because we noticed it was a newer establishment and Falafel Corner did not disappoint one bit. My husband and I primarily follow a plant based diet so we were happy with their Vegetarian options. We both ordered the Falafel Platter which came with large and delicious falafels, rice, salad, hummus and pita bread. My son had the chicken nuggets. The Falafel platter itself was pretty large size and very filling. The falafels were extremely good, fresh, tasty and filled with flavor. We loved the rice as well (perhaps a bit of cumin in there which made it amazing). There were other additional options that we will try next time including the gyro sandwich. Everything on the menu looked great! Lots of tables for seating and they even had high chairs for little ones. One of Folsom's hidden gems! I was craving middle eastern food and wanted to try someplace new and that's what lead me to discovered Pitas Are Us on yelp. Seeing their ratings I decided I'd give them a try. Im so glad I did! This may quickly become one of my favorite middle eastern restaurants in Folsom. I ordered the gyro wrap and a side of curly fries with extra tzatziki on the side and every bite was delicious. I feel the price point is very reasonable also! It is a small, cozy location that has had a shaded patio space and a fountain within earshot which creates a peaceful atmosphere. The inside was quaint and cozy. Nice cashier and attentive workers here. Which is always a plus! The services are four stars. Sorry the food was two stars. So I think three stars is fair. The parking lot is big. But I have hard time to find a parking space. Many cars driving around try to find parking too! May be I'm here on a wrong time! I finally found a parking with some distance after five minutes! The cashier lady was very helpful and gave us a nice greeting when we walked into the restaurant. This is a pay first and they bring the foods to your table restaurant. I ordered the combination platter with chicken and gyro. It was huge and very good looking! But unfortunately, both the chicken and gyro was too salty and too dry! Was browsing for places to eat while I was in Folsom. It was a pretty decent gyro plate. You get a bunch of meat, rice and vegetables. I received some slices of pita bread with my order. I kind of wish they gave more. The price was average, $9 to $11 for a rice plate. I've been to other gyro places and they charged more and gave less food. The owner lady serves herself before our order and atleast 5 other orders that were made after us. So disappointing don't waste your time here. Our go to spot for food when we don't know what to cook. Their combo platter is my husbands favorite and they cook the perfect falafel. They did catering for our Easter party and the owner was so sweet and flexible with our request. I live in the Bay Area but was up visiting my friend here in town and she was craving some "flavorful food" and she told me about a place she'd been to a couple of times and loved so we decided on Falafel Corner. We placed our order (the Falafel Platter and the Chicken Platter) and I waited for our food while she went across the street to the grocery store. It was Saturday night about 6:30. There was one couple dining in and one person came in to pick up a phone order, other than that it was pretty quiet. It had been raining on and off so perhaps that's why. When I first walked in, I noticed one table had an empty soda can and some torn up napkins that hadn't been bussed. There were at least 4 women working: 1 on the register & taking orders, 1 cooking, 1 I could see one in the back on a break (which is fine it was very slow), and 1 gal was also at the front counter but she seemed very intense about cleaning the iPad that I think they use for placing orders she was going over every nook and cranny, front and back with a cleaning wipe--seemed more than a little odd when there were several dirty tables. I also noticed that the area next to the beverage case that is also behind where the orders are package for pickup and the floor of the kitchen area was very dirty: plastic containers, napkins receipt paper that had been dropped on the floor. By now, the couple left, so there now was a 5th table that was dirty yet NO ONE came to the front to bus the tables! They seemed oblivious. We got our food and it smelled delicious, everything looked great--went home had a fantastic meal, very generous portions. And I'm very happy to report that the cleanliness issues that I observed in the restaurant didn't impacting the food safety and that was quite a relief. I would say the food quality is pretty good and pieced together well with good presentation and you get enough to eat. The best part was the crispy gyro meat. Coworker ordered a gyro plate which was loaded! There's room for improvement in the sauce and some other areas to get even better but nothing negative or off putting. Price is very reasonable as I've made gyros myself and they take a longer than expected time to prepare everything and make sauce as well as buy a lot of ingredients. Decent service but it was somewhat hard to tell whose order is whose the way things are called out. An order number would be simple. read more

I've been to Fremont and Natomas Falafel corners but this one is the best out of three. I loved the combo platter. And tea is also very special. If you like medium spicy then ask for "badmash" sauce - It is the best!! Definitely will be coming back again. read more

Terrific food. I really appreciate the kind woman working the counter, as she helped me figure out a mixup with the GrubHub order I'd made. The food was so flavorful. Good portions, fresh and delicious. I ordered the Chicken Over Rice Plate. The chicken was tender, perfectly grilled and there was plenty of it. They add a small salad with cucumbers, onion and tomatoes, along with hummus that had a nice, mild flavor. Also, the sauce on top of the chicken and basmati was a winner. I recommend adding a little bit of heat to the plate (I used good ol' Sriracha), which made for the perfect meal. I don't even know where to start with this one. Walked in and gave the cook a smile and she turned away. The whole staff wasn't friendly. Spacious seating area but the place was empty. The bathroom was gross, little fruit flies in the ablution cup and some flying around. I ordered the chicken over rice but was given meat gyro over rice. The rice was clumped. This place used to be called Falafel Corner and I had come a few times and all times were great. This last experience since the name (and management?) change was quite disappointing. We placed the order online for pickup. When we went to pick it up they said they didn't get the order even though we received a confirmation email. When we talked about it with them the woman said that they are not using the online ordering system because it goes to her manager's phone and the manager just doesn't... check.. the phone...? It was very bizarre. I do understand small businesses are struggling right now, but perhaps they should disable the feature for online ordering if it is not going to work at all. Still, the food is good, so as long as you know to place the order via phone, it is a good lunch or dinner option for takeout. read more

We were trying to get into the Italian place in the same strip mall, but there was a 2.5 hour wait so we gave up and came here b/c of the good ratings. Obviously this place is family run - as part of the family was seated at a table eating their meal. We ordered (between the 3 of us) a combo patter (which I WISH included a couple of falafel balls), a gyro platter and a greek salad. The two combo platters were huge, and came with really nice pita bread. Of the two meats, I preferred the chicken, the gyro meat seamed a bit dry. The greek salad was far superior to the salad on the side of the gyro platter, so again - I would have paid an extra $1 or 2 to get a greek salad as a sub for the regular salad with the combo platter. The worker at the register was a dud, she lacked enthusiasm, and packed our order to go , when we were obviously sitting at a table waiting for our meal. read more

So... Now that they've broken away from the Falafel Corner franchise, they've had to switch things up. There's no more tahini sauce which was BD's favorite and pretty much the only reason why he would come over here instead of Petra. He still likes the gyro but doesn't like their hummus or tzasiki so the no tahini sauce is a bummer for him. The falafels at FC were hands down the best I've ever had and I NEVER EAT FALAFELS. I actually craved these, a dish I never cared for before. I actually would order them instead of gyro meat which is my all time favorite. That's how good they are. But these falafels are different. A little blander according to BD. And they were hard and overcooked. FC used to have these crispy falafels with a soft fluffy inside. These were like hockey pucks. Kiddo still loved them but BD and I could tell there was a difference. The tzaziki dressing has also been changed but I couldn't tell the difference. It's less dill forward. No more Turkish delights. Baklava is not good as when I first discovered them over a year ago. They are working on some stuff and I'm glad they asked for our opinion and we gave them honest feedback. It's hard having your own restaurant. I hope things go back to how things used to be. Or at least very close. Especially the falafels. Please fix the falafels. read more

The food if good and their new spicy chicken menu is really good. BUT they new guys they hired are so bad. Last time I came in I ordered two simple dishes and watched 3-4 people who were in line to order after me get their food first. I told the guy at the front (younger guy) that I just saw a bunch of people get food that came after me. He told me if I'm not in the store then he can't see me. I was sitting right in front of him. He basically incorrectly blamed me. Then when he brought me my food he said sorry but I'm new and people were getting orders first because of grubhub or something. I saw those people order. He just kept making excuses which only made the situation worse. I just let it go. I called in an order today after I ordered two shakes from chick-fil-a across the street. Another guy (older guy) kept saying he didn't understand me and that he was new so I pointed him over the phone to the menu on their wall and said so you see this and this... I ordered and showed up 10 mins later. The girl at the front tells me there is no more fried chicken. I asked why he didn't tell me or call back and I have melting ice cream in the car. I was told he is new and it would take 15 mins for a new order of something else to be made. She also had responsibility in letting him know when he entered work today that they were out of stuff. I was pretty upset and unwilling to go back to chick-fil-a at that point. The girl should have at least offer a discount or a baklava, something to show customers are valued. A glass of water. Ice for the shakes. Anything. Unfortunately, I don't see myself coming back to this place. They clearly have an issue getting a half decent cashier or serve. As I'm sitting here in post meal itis, having eaten my food so quickly I almost don't remember eating, I figured I really need to write a review. After an incredibly long day yesterday and hours of driving late at night, I was exhausted and was looking at delivery options close to me. Finding none that sounded appetizing, I saw this restaurant available for take out only ten minutes away. If I wouldve known in advance the glorious, heavenly meal that I'd be taking home, I wouldn't have been pouting on the drive there that I had to leave the house lmao. I picked up my order which was a meager 14 dollars and drove home, the car slowly tormenting me with the scent of succulent grilled meat. Now, I ordered the combo plate. It comes with chicken and beef gyro meat, basmati safron rice, salad, pita, tahini, and hummus. I can't even emphasize how absolutely delicious this was. The meat was tender, with a nice slight char on the chicken. The gyro was cooked perfectly and their tahini, hummus, and house made hot sauce paired like a match made in heaven with the meat. I scooped up globs of rice and meat in my pita until I couldn't shovel anymore food into my greedy mouth. I digress, but if you have any self respect you need to come here. High quality food for a reasonable price! Good portion sizes too! I've tried the gyro platter, falafel platter, and badmash burger. The gyro platter is definitely my favorite if you're looking for good Mediterranean to satisfy a craving. The falafel was good, but I liked the gyro more. They don't offer unless you ask, but if you like spicy, try their hot sauce for a kick (in the face TBH it's sPicY if you use a lot). I ordered on Door Dash because I had a craving and work was busy. The food can at the perfect temperature and the portion size fir my falafel wrap was good. The Wrap: the pita was stuffed but, not overly stuffed which I liked. There was sauce on top and that was good. I would have liked to have the sauce on the falafel balls and not just on the top as the falafel balls were a bit dry. They had a Gyro but, it didn't list on Door Dash what kind of meat it was (lamb, beef, chicken) but, most places it had been lamb, beef or both. Would have like to know more about this. read more
