Pros: bartending staff is great, always super attentive and make sure you're taken care of. If you don't feel the need to sit down in the dining area, I recommend sitting at the bar. Im giving One star for our waitress and the fact that some of our party did like the food! First, I have seen cleaner bathrooms in dive bars. It was disgusting! Dirty, One working stall and there was pools of water and soap all over the sink! Next, I ordered a filet with Cream Hollandaise sauce and 4 shrimp. I got my sauce and even second guessed my waitress if it was correct. I then poured it on the steak..only to find it was horseradish sauce! (Which was awful)!! Steak ruined.. then onto shrimp. Tough and freezing cold!! No seasoning or flavor..just bad. Didnt see any wait staff for at least 15 minutes once the food came..so I waited. And returned it . She was kind and removed it from our bill. Still the tab was $140. So many upscale steak houses and this one misses the mark by far! Starting with an overall option in case you don't care about details. This is an overpriced steak house. The food is decent, steaks are very good, but not 100% worth it. I went here for my sisters bday. It was a great place to celebrate and the staff were all warm and welcoming. We even ended up sharing cake with them at the end of the night. Our table ordered a Buffalo shrimp and wings for apps. The restaurant provided garlic bread. The shrimp were really good. They were huge, but $20 was still steep. I didn't try the wings but they looked good. The bread was fine. It had a bit of an aftertaste of sorts to me, but the rest of my party enjoyed it. For my entre I got the filet Oscar which was very good. The asparagus and bernaise sauce had no flavor though. Steak was tasty and cooked perfect medium as requested. Crab cake was good as well. Another person for salmon ordered plain, but potion was small. Sides for the table included more bland asparagus with sauce, loaded mashed potatoes (also pretty bland), loaded hash browns (not shown, did not try), and grown up mac and cheese (delicious). Overall I would come back. I like that this place isn't stuffy, but it is styled like a traditional steak house. It's not modern. I would just order my steak, mac and cheese, and maybe a drink. It's very expensive, so definitely for certain occasions only or if someone else is buying. With 7 people the bill was just about $700, so about $100 a head. The old saying holds true here, you get what you pay for! Our server was attentive and friendly, the food was excellent prepared and the ambiance was nice- a bit loud for me because we were sat by two big tables so that took a little bit away from our birthday celebration. Tip: Get the small size of the side dishes because it's way too much food- we got the larger mashed potatoes for 3 people and took home more than half. For an appetizer we got the calamari- fair at best. Too much breading and a little overcooked/rubbery. Our main meals were steak and lobster tail and those were cooked to perfection. Phenomenal spot for a high end steak dinner. Can't believe I drove by Pittsburgh Blue for years before giving it a try. Now I've been back for a second time in one month! The family settle garlic mashed potatoes/hash browns are tremendous- the portions are generous and a large can easily feed a party of six. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Bacon is not a traditional appetizer, but everyone loved it. We also shared the Grilled Steak salad with a balsamic dressing to balance things out. Sea Bass was so tender and the Oscar Fillet delicious, but dessert surprised us the most. What can I say?!?! Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! I'm a restaurant guy, this was easily one of the best, most complete dining experiences I have *ever* had. I had my lady with me and she makes everything I do in my life better but I would have had an amazing time by myself. Our server, Peter, was just a bucket of enjoyment on every level. He was bright, personable, brimming with personality and yet still grounded in his professional role as a server. We really enjoyed looking at pictures of Samson, his adorably cute Gooden retriever/Bernese mountain dog puppy. He guided us through our cocktail hour and then expertly disected the menu to provide clarity, command intrigue, and laid down an infectious level of passion. I've been a server my entire life. Truly, I have a lot to learn from Peter. He's definitely top tier, elite talent and I could be a much better server just by trying to be more like Peter when I'm on the floor with my esteemed guests. EXTRA $15 for employee health benefits?!?! That's right, you are EXPECTED to pay for the employees' health benefits!! When we received the bill there was an additional $15 charge on there for the employees' health benefits. The manager confirmed this and stated he WOULD NOT remove it from the bill and all patrons are responsible for it. When I stated they're not my employees, the manager then asked if it would be better to "hide" it in the cost of the food. Said manager then stated someone has to pay it. I advised that nothing should be "hidden" anywhere, and the company should adhere to its responsibility of taking care of its employees. I furthered that aside from a possible tip, it is not the patron's responsibility to ensure the company's employees' well being. The manager then restated that it was either to openly charge the customer or "hide" the fee in the food somewhere. I advised if the cost of food was more expensive and I chose to still eat there, that is one thing, but the care and responsibility of the employees is not my responsibility. The manager disagreed and stated the employees' health benefits' fee is every customer's responsibility to pay and, while the cost of employees' benefits is the responsibility of the company, it will not be removed from the bill. We will not be back, and we wouldn't have eaten there if we knew ahead of time that there would be an exorbitant charge, because Pittsburgh Blue can't afford their employees' benefits. read more

I've been going to PB for over 10 years and it has always been excellent. I love steak, grill a bunch of it at home, and have always found PB to be so much better than I could do at home. That was pre-COVID.... I've been there a couple of times since COVID and this place is simply not the same. I'm not sure if this is due to COVID, the change in ownership, or a combination. This review covers both visits. The steak I had (ribeye) on my first post COVID visit was maybe the toughest ribeye I'd ever had. Given the price, I sent it back. What returned was better, but not properly cooked. Hard sear on the outside and still cold in the middle. The service was good and I've found the quality of beef has gone way down no matter where you get it, so I didn't swear off PB as it has historically been one of my favorite places. We went again last night and ordered the aged ribeye for $75. I have no problem paying for good food, but this steak, ordered medium rare, came with a hard sear and raw in the middle. Im sorry, but steaks are not that difficult to cook properly and this was the second time in a row that it wasn't. You could taste the aging, but the tenderness that usually accompanies that aging simply wasn't there. Not horrible, but not great and I could do much better at home for a fraction of the price. The service the second time wasn't great. The server was MIA after she took the food order only coming back to attempt to drop off the check 30-45 minutes after said order without offering dessert. I would have loved a second glass of wine to finish my steak but would have had to have gone to the bar to get it myself. I was in the restaurant industry for years and know 'turn and burn' style service when I'm presented with it. It is annoying at Applebee's, unacceptable for the prices at PB. I cannot leave less that 15% tip because, again, I was in the industry, and I generally do much better than that. I seriously contemplated it this time, however. Overall, PB has lost a few steps. Hopefully this is just due to COVID, but after one 'meh' experience and one bad one, PB is no longer one of my favorites. read more

This is a review after at least 10+ visits. Each trip has been greeted with exceptional service and solid food. The staff is very knowledgeable, attentive, and readily available throughout your meal. As for the food, the Prime Rib (I prefer the 24 oz.) is phenomenal. The creamy horseradish accompanied it, but adding the béarnaise gives you two perfect complements to a very large piece of meat. You also can't go wrong with any of the filets, but especially the bone-in. Their cuts of beef might not quite be on par with Burch, P.S. Steak, and Manny's, but it is just barely behind. You really cannot go wrong. There is another item I absolutely have to mention. The cheesecake! It is AMAZING! Order the CHEESECAKE! Best one you will ever eat, and it's not even close. read more

At 3pm on a Saturday, we had to wait for a table at the bar. It was not that it seemed that busy, I have to assume it was staffing. With that said, the waitress was great and helpful. My dinner guest has the Turkey Burger and did mention that it was good, and not dry. I had the Grilled Tenderloin Salad. I believe the meat was either sitting around or was precooked, as it was a bit colder than room temp. The flavor was great, but on the cold side. I did not send it back and then my guest would have a plate and I would not. We each had a glass of wine, finished our meals, and found out the gift cards were not working as they had system issues. Then the Parasole Rewards card was not working either. I was told to request the points on line, which I have done twice, to no response or points by Parasole. I cut thru different sections trying to find the $50+ piece of meat. It DID NOT exist. This meat could have been served on a buffet line at the homeless shelter. Tons of grisly cold fat. We enjoy happy hour at the bar area! Staff is always really friendly and down to earth! Eric was the shining star who was helpful and fun to chat with! I got a seasonal sangria ($6) which was a little too sweet for me. Still good for others though. Then I switched to their house Cabernet ($5) which I enjoyed. Olive Bruchetta is $3 during happy hour for three pieces. It is topped with chream cheese, queen olives, radish, and micro greens! This was really good. I could eat 100! Steakhouse chicken wings: five wings for $5 coated in Buffalo with a side of blue cheese. I liked the buffalo, texture, and crispiness. Would like if they were more meaty. Buffalo Shrimp: This time they had two for $6 but in the past we have had three in our plate. We love these. Jumbo juicy shrimp lightly breaded and coated in Buffalo sauce. It started sometime in early May. I wanted to book a party to honor my husbands 70th birthday. He, unfortunately , passed away from cancer. His wish was steak and whiskey and I could not think of any place better than Pittsburgh in Maple Grove.. The GM , Travis,was concerned about a party of 16 with all the Covid protocols, but I convinced him.. we would not be like the people that say they agree but cause issues when they arrive. This was lunch, really...Wow! OK, maybe not the average lunch stop, it was a special occasion but it was still lunch none the less. I have been here for drinks a few times and dinner as well. I will say every time I have been here I have left happy but this was something else. To start our waitress was great. Very personal and very open, great service from start to finish. We ordered a couple of drinks, whiskey sour and a glass of wine. The wine tasted a little funky and there was not an issue, they opened a fresh bottle and replaced the glass. The food was spot on X 10. I ordered the Prime rib dip with fries and a cup of the steakhouse chili. chili was great. the sandwich I ordered medium rare with cheese and mushrooms and it was perfect, PERFECT. I wanted to take this sandwich, find a nice private spot and make love to it. I wanted to return the pleasure that this sandwich was giving me...OK maybe a little odd but damn it was good. Wife ordered the chicken salad and it was very good as well with a fantastic Caesar salad. Even the horseradish dip for the sandwich was home made and very, very good. - Note to Buffalo Wild Wings; This is what a good restaurant does, they make their sauces fresh from scratch. I booked dinner for two on a Wednesday evening here in late August to celebrate my wife's birthday. We arrived on time for our reservations and were seated promptly. But damn was it LOUDDD. I mean having to raise your voice to speak to the person on the other side of your booth loud. If you're looking for a quiet evening for two this isn't your place. Part of it is because of the layout of the main dining room. Everyone is all together in one big rectangle. Actually the bar is a bit quieter. Having said that, the food was fantastic, 5 stars there. We shared the scallops Benedict as an appetizer. It was great! For the main course she had the bone in ribeye and I had the filet with bleu cheese topping. For sides we had mashed potatoes and asparagus. Again, all solid. Most everything here is served à la carte. For dessert we had one crème brûlée to go. My wife also got a small cheesecake on the house for her birthday. Throw in one cocktail and one glass of wine each and we were at $300 plus tip. The service here was OK. We had a good waiter, but he was exceptionally busy. Our dinner was at 7:15 PM, we were seated right away. We were out the door at 9:00 PM. All in all Pittsburgh Blue is good place (yes, quite expensive), just don't expect a quiet evening. read more
