    Carbonara

I'm continually impressed by the quality of the food and service here! I recently went for dinner on a busy Friday night and sat at the bar, the bartender was super friendly, but also gave my husband and I space when we were just chatting the two of us. My husband ordered the filet with their, I believe, truffle butter on top and the risotto cake on the side. I ordered their carbonara, and am pretty picky about this dish, but have to try it everywhere. I love that they make their noodles from scratch every day, but I don't like the thick pappardelle noodle with the dish- would prefer spaghetti, but the sauce and pancetta was great! The filet was impeccable, had a great crust but still cooked medium rare inside, and the risotto is something I've dreamed about since. For cocktails, I got their Manhattan and my husband got a dirty martini with blue cheese olives- both were great! Would absolutely recommend this place for dinner or brunch! Love getting their breakfast fried rice and their man candy bacon- excellent bloodies too!

Decided to hit up the Lake Room given it had been years since I'd been back in town and that it replaced my grandfather's dry cleaning business i was willing to give it a try... but all came up short! We ordered a Wedge Salad for before our meal....server didn't come back to our table till our food came out (which from the time we ordered to coming out was over 30 minutes and the place had only two other tables at the time) even after Nate trued flagging him down a couple times.... Food comes out... Nates steak that was to be Medium Rare comes out Well Done... and still no wedge salad... Steak gets sent back.... And after about 3-4 minutes server then decided to bring out the Wedge so Nate had something to eat while i had my meal... 9 minutes later.. steak comes out... VERY Rare... By that point we gave up. Nate ate his potatoes and sent back the steak and we were done. Will i ever be back to Lake Room..No... Even worse is the table to the left behind us had the same steak issues. I'd maybe more understanding if the place was packed and busy especially on a Friday.. there was no real excuse besides i think they have a cook who really just doesnt know how to cook a steak. Bummer.

We visited here for a date night, and it was well worth it! FOOD: Super tasty- I got the Chilean Sea Bass and it was sooo good. The bass was perfectly cooked and the mozzarella stuffed risotto cake was creamy and delightful. We also ordered the pan-seared sea scallops which were extremely good but not really filling enough for a full entree. AMBIANCE: Upscale, perfect for date night! Not very modern, but classy. Outdoor patio looked inviting for the warmer months. SERVICE: Friendly and prompt despite it being busy. PARKING: Easy parking lot.

This restaurant rating is for brunch. A beautiful restaurant in a central (lake mtka) location. It reminded me of walking into an Abercrombie and Fitch. Dark, rich, mahogany wood furniture, wine glass sculptures strategically placed here and there, window plantation shutters (LOVE), beautiful chandeliers, local lake mtka Art (I loved the tile Mosaic piece, the paddle boat painting, and the lake mtka cut-out wall art), and the painted marble floor. The patio is small but perfect with a gorgeous fire pit house, patio heat warmers, and a few tables with Albert Einstein cafe lights. My toddler was satisfied with a kids menu, crayons, coloring sheets, and a kid's cup of fresh squeezed OJ. I LOVED the mimosa flight. This is something I have never seen before. Brilliant!!! You pick 3 of 6-7 choices. I chose lavender/mint (my fav), peach Bellini, and strawberry/lemon. WARNING: I felt elegantly wasted after drinking this flight. Prob not the best idea when managing a baby and a toddler. I ordered the frittata. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO good. When I cut into the frittata, it oozed with buttery greens. There was crispy/baked Asiago cheese on top that added so much to the flavor. It came with a side salad (although it was weird to eat a salad for breakfast) and breakfast potato wedges. I highly recommend this dish! My husband ordered the short ribs Benedict. It was a little bland and needed S&P. My [respectful] suggestion is the chef should maybe add garlic salt (after all, everything is better with garlic). I will be back for dinner sometime!

Fabulous beyond words! Service, food, ambiance and value are ALL on point. Sleeper venue with very little advertising...take FULL advantage because when this place becomes main stream it will be week long wait for reservations. Food is outstanding and price is fair! Chocolate martini in the lower level Jimmy's Bar is on point. Sea Bass, Delmonico (ask for it to have a chat crust), and the chopped salad are delicious. Decent wine menu and fun cocktail offerings. Heard they are doing a Black Friday gift card special which we will be taking full advantage of. Yum!

Here's my review of the food we ordered: Cocktail of the hour - aka "Golden Hour" - 8.5/10 Reminded me of mulled cider, notes of honey, very refreshing Pork Belly Steam Buns - 8.1/10 Nice texture, very tender and flavorful Mini Banh Mi - 7/10 Not bad, would have preferred the more traditional pork filling Crispy Chicken- 8.7/10 This really surprised me, from appearance the chicken didn't look that special but it was well seasoned and the sweet chili glaze really stole the show and elevated this dish! Mirabelle Smash Burger - 8.9/10 I'm a sucker for smash burgers and this one did not disappoint. Nice crispy bun and a special mustard sauce that we enjoyed and a different flavor I don't usually have on my burger Sticky Ribs - 5/10 Unfortunately these were quite dry and was comparing to sticky ribs I had last week at CoV that were fall off the bone Overall good spot, service, atmosphere, and would be happy to return. Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

We came on a busy Sunday evening, Memorial Day Weekend, and put our name down for a table. We were told it would be a responsible 25-30 minute wait. A wait that only ended up being about 15 minutes. We were seated at a table right next to the water which we loved. Very promptly greeted by our server, Julie, who was awesome. She was extremely knowledgeable to the menu, made plenty of recommendations, and was very humorous making the visit even better. Started with the Loaded Nachos which were HUGE. They were piled high with all the goodies, plenty of queso, crispy chips, and extremely fresh ingredients. At first I was turned off by the $22 price tag but the size is actually a great value and they are perfect for probably 6-8 to share as an app or 2-4 to share as an entree. You can pop tan extra $10 for brisket, we just stuck with the ground beef. I also got the Stacked Club Sandwich which, again, was a massive portion. The deli meat tasted like it was freshly sliced and had a nice flavor. The lettuce and tomato were also very fresh tasting. This a perfect spot to stop and take in some sun, have a few drinks, and a bite to eat, all while enjoying stunning views of the lake.

If you want to come here even relatively close to peak hours, I would highly recommend a reservation. My personal favorites here include the Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich and the Minute Chicken. I've gotten both items multiple times and they are consistently great. Do yourself a favor and get the Dessert Flight; the portions are more than fair for the price and the Banana Cream Pie is to die for. We recently did brunch at Hazelwood for the first time. The Monkey Bread is a generous size with a crispy outside and gooey center - exactly how you would want it to be. The Smoked Gouda Hash browns are worth getting on the side with any item that doesn't already include them; they are so creamy and have a rich cheesy flavor with a nice crispy top layer. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Avocado Toast. The bacon bits, lettuce, and poached egg completely overwhelm the avocado, which is virtually nonexistent. It's served on a very small and boring piece of wheat toast.

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. Reservations fill up days in advance. I think you'll find it worth the extra planning. PS my ratings are adjusted for the type of venue. These are not Michelin stars.
