A former coworker and I stumbled upon this place for lunch. As the other reviews said there is limited parking (park across the street at Arby's), the neighborhood is sketchy with guys hanging around outside, and seating inside is limited - but it is worth the obstacles to come here. We ordered the Margarita pizza and it was absolutely the best I have had this side of Naples. Fred M. mentioned he was downgrading since the bread and tapenada was gone - time to give that point back because they were served with our meal.The staff was friendly and the pizza was incredible. Other reviews have covered everything about this place - it is small and located next to a Circle K, but the pizza is fantastic! I actually like the pizza here better than Cibo. I ordered the small Vegetarian pizza and the Caprese salad to share with a friend. We were both stuffed and our total bill was only $18! Great value for your money. Found this spot one evening craving pizza. I like my pizza Italian with wood fired crust so a lot of places just won't do. Pizza a Metro does not disappoint! It is the smallest hole in the wall spot ever with the cutest bit of simple charm and a back patio to make up for lack of indoor seating. They have a metro pizza- 3ft, which I will never order! Lol but it looks amazing. Anyway, since the first trip we have come here 3 times (it's not really close) and I have tried something new and loved everything. Margherita pizza is my fav and there's is amazing! The crust is just right. Chicken fettuccine, yep- try it. Marsala chicken, tender and perfect! And the hospitality is everything. Love this place! My hubby heard abt this place thru yelp & When I first saw the location, it didn't necessarily have the best curb appeal. However, the decor and intimate size of the dining area makes up for it; especially the food. I've had the pepperoni and the margarita pizza, and we've had the lasagna & shrimp pasta dish. My family and I had the pleasure of dining at Pizza A Metro before the pandemic. We desperately wanted to visit again, but we hunkered down like the rest of the world did. We were beyond please to see that they are still open for business and we stopped by last weekend. The food and service didn't disappoint. I stack this pizza up with any pizza in the country and this is coming from a native New Yorker that has been living in AZ for the past six years. This is my regular pizza take-out place and I love that this tiny little eatery pumps out some pretty great pies! We order pretty much the same thing each time we go... Vegetarian pizza (loaded with veggies) and a saporita. I am not a fan of the calamari but am very much a fan of the tiramisu which is DELICOUS. Gabriel, who I am assuming is the owner, is always friendly and gets us in and out quickly. This is a consistently good go-to place for pizza. read more

It's a nice pizza shop if you like thin crust, stone oven pizza. I can only talk about the pizza since that's all I've had. Looks like they have other Itanlian dishes there that I'll have to try sometime. It's the thinner pizza that you'd expect from a stone oven. They do a really, really good job with the crust. Nice balance to it, not thick but not so thin/crunchy that it's a hard cracker (I hate that). The red sauce is a sweeter sauce than most other places and it stands out to me, and I'm not a big fan of red sauce to begin with. It has the look, feel, and taste of better quality ingredients that work well with the oven. I'd like to eat in the shop once with a nice pasta dish and pizza to taste it right when it comes out of the oven. The only downside is that it is such a lite pizza that it's not as filling as others. It would be a nice complement to a nice salad or other dish. read more

Don't let the small storefront stop you. This small restaurant has a large selection of wonderful Italian dishes. We were a group of 10 and sat in the patio behind the kitchen. We're able to reserve the patio in advance. Everyone commented on how they liked the food. Perfect service. A small but decent reasonably priced wine list. Fantastic pizza, good friendly service, cute inside atmosphere, but the location is a nasty dump next to a Circle K in a seedy part of town with absolutely no parking. I had to get up during my meal to get two teenage "homies" off my car. Since when is it ok to lean on someone's car with a slurpie in your hand? Pizza wasn't as thin as most Neopolitan pies. Crust at the end was rather uniform too, in shape and consistency. No irregularity which is the signature of a hand tossed pie (not that theirs isn't hand tossed). Sauce delivered great tomato flavor and cheese was rich, and clearly high quality stuff. Prices were reasonable. I'm not kidding - there's maybe 4-5 parking spots and about 5 tables inside. It's quaint, adorable, and the waiter seems to have an authentic Italian accent. Food is very good, almost as good as that other famous pizza place in town, but my god this place needs a new location. I thought this over for a few days before reviewing it and the location & parking just ruin the experience here, plus the lack of seating. You can't deny the likability of an honest man running a little Italian restaurant. The 7-9 tables that make up this great neighborhood find, the attentive service by the service staff who was also helping cook in the kitchen, and the unexpected quality food that came out were 3 key ingredients that make this a 5-Star Find! Even though the name of this place suggests ordering pizza, I didn't actually get to taste the pizza. :(...but I saw it and it looked amazing! Next time. What I did find was MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT GNOCCHI!!! I ordered the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina and it was fantastico! The only way to describe this dish (which on this night came with a vodka sauce instead of their usual tomato sauce i guess) was a plate full of little fluffy pillows of deliciousness!!! The staff there are so amazing, they treated me like I have been a long standing customer and even had supplies that they sold to me on site!!! Tonight was my first time trying this place and I am sure glad I did! I ordered a 16 inch Supreme pizza with a side of ranch. While this place is super tiny and trying to get to it off of Thomas is a little bit of a nightmare, don't let these aspects deter you from giving this family owned restaurant a try. Right when you pull up, you can smell the delightful aroma of homemade pizza. When I walked in I was greeted right away and when I told them it was my first time trying their pizza, they seemed super excited. There were a couple of laughs exchanged which always provides a positive customer experience. The taste of the pizza was delicious and the price is spot on. In fact, for the quality they probably under charge. As you will see in my photo, there were an abundance of toppings. The ranch is made in house which always makes me super happy, because... I am a ranch snob. While the ranch was a little runny, still good and I will not hold this against them. Especially since I make my own ranch and know that every batch is a skosh different. Stopped in to Metro before heading back to the airport for my trip back home. The place was empty at about 2 pm. My usual test for how good an Italian restaurant is - I try their chicken parmigiana. I know this place is mainly a pizza place, but if it's on the menu, it better be just as good. I did not try the pizza. The chicken parm was on the lunch menu. It came with a side of penne. It was a good size for the lunch menu and cost $10.95. The cutlet was pounded thin and was very juicy. There was a square of mozzarella which didn't cover the entire cutlet. Maybe more mozzarella would have been better. One thing I need to mention is that the sauce was a bit spicy. I don't think it was mentioned on the menu, and not sure if it's the same sauce they use on the pizza. It was good, but spicy. People should know this in case they order it for their kids. They passed my chicken parm test. Service was good. I know I was the only customer there, but the waitress was very attentive. Sometimes when the restaurant isn't busy, the waitstaff is even worse. They get into conversations with co-workers, and you never see them. That was not the case here. I took some desert with me to go. Actually flew it back to Los Angeles with me. I bought the Tiramisu and two Canollis. Wife and kids enjoyed the Canollis. Although my wife didn't understand why they would drizzle chocolate syrup over the canolli.
