Pricing and the wait are the two cons, but the wait can be excused by how good the food is / limited options in the heart of Manzanita for group dining. Our base price for a large Spicy Italian, Garlic Cheese Bread and a Large Caesar Salad was $65 plus tip. $17 for a Caesar salad with no protein is definitely steep and the pizza would have been worth $34 if there were more toppings (we opted for pepperoncinis on only one half, but as you can see, this mainly looks like a pepperoni pizza at first glance). Around $50 would have been fair for quality and quantity ordered. When we called, they let us know it was about a 90-115 minute wait, and we appreciated the honesty! Not a major deterrent, but don't order when you're already hungry. The Caesar salad was a highlight for us, and we found it to be really like and more vinegar based, it was so refreshing and we appreciated it wasn't fishy/too anchovy heavy. The cheese bread was our 2nd favorite - super cheesy and delish! Pizza came in 3rd, it just wasn't what we expected, it seems very NY style and a little greasy. We ordered from here during a recent trip to Nahalem. I believe they only do take out right now (definitely not delivery, but I didn't see any eat in option either). The service was great, very friendly when we called to make our order and when we picked up. The wait for our order was long, but I appreciated that they told us that up front. The food was really great. Big slices of pizza, well topped and cooked well. We had a Caesar too, and all of us said the dressing was amazing, not a creamy Caesar, light but flavorful. My reason for 3 stars is that the food is very expensive, and while delicious, the value does not match. I think if our order was $20 less, it would have been the right value for the food. read more

You know sometimes you see something and you just can't unsee it... well, at Marzano's I heard something and just can't unhear it. Don't get it twisted, it wasn't a bad thing at all. In fact, it was one of the most memorable stories I've heard all year from a long-time local. You see, in its current form, Marzano's operates solely as a take away pizza place several evenings a week. But, years ago, this location included a dining room. Imagine, if you will, a foggy night on the coast, off season, and you bring your family to Marzano's and order a bottle of wine to share with your partner and some Garlic Cheese Bread for the table to nibble on while your pizza bakes. When the pizza arrives hot from the oven and your cheeks are rosy as you are surrounded by the aroma and witness the cheese still bubbling as the mighty pie is delivered to your table. Hot pizza on a cold night is a magical thing. I've been a regular customer for the past year and have settled on the Combo Traditional as my favorite pie. Three sizes available (10, 14, and 18 inches) and slices on the large pizza are significant, so I recommend you have them double cut. They have a prime location only a couple blocks from the beach, so parking can be a bit of a challenge in the summer, but they do have short term parking out front. Now, one last tip from a semi-local... they don't accept timed orders. So it is a bit of a learning process to figure out when to order starting at 4:00p, since the wait can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2-1/2 hours based on the day of the week and a few other factors. But, it is one of our favorite dinners in town if we time it right. I just can't help but wish I got to experience the Marzano's dining room on one of those long ago foggy nights. read more

If you're in Manzanita there are limited choices, as the town itself is small (but amazing). This is basically the one pizza place in town. The pizza is ok, I found that the cheesy bread sticks were better than the pizza. I usually get those with one of their salads. The salads are a fairly large and pretty good. You call in and pick up the food here, so plan for a night in. Staff have always been friendly. These restaurant itself is small and clean. The issue is that sometimes this place will be closed and there's no way of finding out when that will happen. They don't update their website, social media, or voicemail. So if you're venturing out in hopes of pizza make sure you have a plan b, and you can make it to another restaurant if needed. read more

This little to-go only pizza place is the only place you can get pizza in Manzanita. They're open daily from 4pm-8pm (this whole town shuts down at 8pm, I'm obsessed), but be sure to call in your order ahead of time, because they are in high demand. It may have been just because it was Memorial Day weekend, although I looked back at some past reviews and it seems to be pretty common that this place gets backed up with orders outside of the holiday weekend. After missing the order window two days in a row, we were finally able to place an order on the third day. The first day, we didn't realize they closed at 8pm - super early on a weekend and especially a holiday weekend. The second day, we came around 7:15pm and they were no longer accepting orders. When we finally got an order in on the third day, we got there around 6pm and they told us our order would be ready in three hours. Be sure to get your order in early on their busy summer weekends! By this point, we already realized that we had to order early based on our past two attempts to order, and we knew our order wouldn't be done for a couple hours. We got a large pizza and split it between the two of us. Each of us got 4 slices. We did a half and half - half garden feast and half pepperoni/sausage. The garden feast half was good and was loaded with veggies - spinach, peppers, onions. We took the pizza to the beach, and had pizza on the beach with a little beach fire. Everything is walkable in this town, and this was the perfect location to take your pizza down to the beach at the end of the evening. We ordered a large 1/2 ham & pineapple 1/2 smoked prosciutto ham pizza, as well as Caesar salad and focaccia. Toppings were certainly fair, enough so on the pineapple that I actually removed some ham. I lean towards thin crust, but theirs wasn't too thick and had decent flavor. While I loved the mix of toppings on the prosciutto side I found it a bit salty and myself really wanting more sauce, it definitely came across a tad dry. Perfect easy dinner while visiting Manzanita. Pizzas were a good size and could easily feed a large family. The hours are limited, but they make it very easy to order, walk down to the ocean for a few minutes before receiving a text your food is ready and come back for pick up. The order/pick up window is well marked and easy to access. Parking is available on the side of the building for 30 minutes while you order your pizza. We've been visiting Manzanita for 20 years or so. Marzanos has always been a great place to order pizza. But just know that the hours of operation are now just a suggestion. Last night, Saturday after Thanksgiving, the hours were posted 4 - 8. We called at 5:45 but no answer on the phone. We drove to the order window and was told they were no longer taking orders, after being open for just 1.5 hours. I was disappointed but I felt bad for the workers who were crazy busy trying to get orders out the door. There were only 4 people working on a Saturday night. Who schedules this on a Saturday night? The town was very busy. This has happened a few times to us. My suggestion for anyone wanting a pizza there is to place your order as soon as they open and take it home to eat later. Not ideal to have to reheat it but it is how they operate now. Manzanita could use another pizza place to take the pressure off this obviously frazzled and stretched too thin staff. read more

The pizza crust was thin, crispy and had a nice color to it. The toppings were good, a nice portion, not too heavy. The tomato sauce was actually sweeter than most. Overall a really solid pizza. The salad was just okay. The Caesar dressing was good and the romaine lettuce was crisp, but they could have added way more parmesan. It was nonexistent. I think the parmesan we did see was a grated style, where we're used to seeing more of a shredded, which I feel gives more flavor. Staff was friendly. Price was decent at around $40 for both large pizza and salad. The wait was around an hour and 20 minutes on a Friday night around 6pm. Overall a good experience.
