Wow. What great New York style pizza. I grew up on the stuff so I would know. My wife and I stopped in today for my birthday dinner. First off, I would not suggest eating in. Place is small and not in best area. Also, with the door open you get all the traffic noice. With that said, I did not deduct a star for that. I would have liked to give 4 1/2 stars on pizza alone. We ordered a large Canadian beacon amid sausage. Drinks are in cans but they do not rip you off on price which is $1 each. The pizza came and it was hot. Slices were cut all the way through. The cheese was very good and did not slide of the slice when picked up. Once picked up the slice was folded in half. When this was one, a crunch was heard. This is very important. New in Escondido and wanted to order a pizza locally. So we did and she said 45 minutes for delivery. Well an hour goes by we call and she says he's on his way. We are 3 miles away mind you. Now an hour and a half goes by, we call again. She says 1st he can't find it. Then says he left 10 minutes ago. Well why would you tell me 45 minutes when he left just 10 minutes ago. Also she says there is heavy traffic. Really 3 miles away!!! So an hour and 40 minutes later we got our cold pizza. 1st time customer and now LAST TIME CUSTOMER. read more

Holy giant pizza batman!! I had a slew of boys from SOS Entertainment helping out with the prep and production for an event last week and having grown up with brothers, I know my duty. Feed them. A quick Yelp search found the nearest pizza place with a good rating and supposed "giant" pizzas-I ordered two, and I should have listened on the phone when he said I probably ordered too much. Only one pizza? There's no way it was going to be that big right? Wrong!! I had to put down the seats in my car and put this pizza in through the trunk it was so huge!! I'm not kidding. The owner, a lovely gentleman-the owner, I believe, even had to help me arrange it and get it out the door! Beyond the sheer monstrous size, it was also delicious and affordable, about 60 bucks for 2 of them and while I know you're thinking 30 bucks per pizza?! when you see it you'll feel like it's a steal. After reading Mounir's remarks, I gave him a call. I recognized his voice as the person from whom we ordered our three pizzas. I stand by my honest and accurate review. Our pizzas were delivered to us congealed and barely lukewarm. His driver did hold another customer's pizza sideways and was reluctant to help us carry our sizeable order to my friend's front door. I had to ask his help and to explain why we needed his help in carrying the pizzas to get him to help us carry our sizeable order. The total price of our order, as quoted to me over the phone by Mounir, himself, was $71.38. I simply added several dollars onto this price (as a tip for the driver)...not expecting nor asking for coinage change. Mounir seems like a nice man and so too did his driver. I wish neither him nor his driver any harm. But the amount of coin change had nothing to do with this review. What matters is that his pizzas should arrive at least warm and his driver needs to deliver to the door. He needs also to never hold a pizza on its side. read more

Pizza was great but service could be better. I paid full price on a large pizza and wings only to find out that exact combo was actually one of their specials and about 7 dollars cheaper. I guess I should have asked but it would have been nice if the cashier/cook informed me before he took my money. Lesson learned I guess. read more

Delivery These guys remind me of some of the places i've ate at when i was growing up on the east coast. Italian accented, friendly, and polite. I ordered my pizza over the phone and 30 minutes later i hear a knock on my door. The pizza guy had the best manners a costumer could ever ask for. Calling me "Sir" numerous times, hopes i enjoy my pizza, hoping to hear from me again, wishing me a good night etc. As i sit and eat my pizza, i notice its delicious taste and well baked crust. Although, not the best pizza i've tasted. These guys are very good, and the fact that they deliver is amazing. I will definitely be calling them back in the near future. read more

I had never been here until it was recommended by a friend. Their pizza is amazing, and they have some incredible deals (1 large 1 topping pizza and 10 hot wings for 14 bucks). This place puts Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Papa John's to shame. Update 12/26/15: Tonight I ordered the family meal deal. It was $24.99 for a large one topping pizza, manicotti, a salad, garlic bread, and six sodas, which is a great deal. I was charged $2 extra (without them even telling me) because I did half pepperoni and half olives, even though it's still only one topping. The "garlic bread" was one burnt garlic stick, that somehow was supposed to be for 4 people to share. When I called to complain, the owner didn't seem to care, so I requested a refund. I won't be going back after this lousy experience. FYI: For those of you that do go here, don't be surprised if you get very little parmesan cheese/red pepper, no matter how much pizza you order. read more

My husband brought food home from Pizza Amore one night because he had a coupon. Now, the pizza was not my favorite, but what did earn the 5 stars was their lasagna! Wow! Party in my mouth! The flavors were awesome. The sauce was really tasty. They loaded the lasagna with plenty of meats and cheeses. It was better than I could make, even if I had an unlimited amount of money for the ingredients and a few days to simmer the sauce. I asked for their lasagna as my birthday dinner. It was wonderful. Everyone cleaned their plate; my 8 year old licked his clean! lol! Now, we need to attend a Memorial Service for my recently passed Mother-In-Law. I ordered a large pan of lasagna for $30.00, which will easily serve 15 people. I am hoping they make it as good as they have in the past. I trust they will. I had been craving New York style pizza near Escondido. There's a great place we go to but it's too far away so I was looking for a place closer to town. I searched up New York style pizza and I checked the reviews and I saw a lot of great reviews regarding it being like pizza back East. We ordered a margarita and a pepperoni and sausage. The pepperoni and sausage was SPOT ON!! Super delicious. This reminded me just like New York pizza! Bravo! Ok now the margarita-it was good but we didn't like how they put dollops of ricotta cheese on the pizza. At first I thought it was fresh mozzarella which is amazing on margarita pizza but it was ricotta. I do like ricotta cheese but for some reason it was kinda weird on the pizza. The margarita pizza was also thicker than the other pizza which I thought was awkward. If this one was thin like the pepperoni and sausage pizza and didn't have the ricotta cheese on there it would have been out of this world. So overall it was good, but not 100% what we were looking for. I would definitely order from here again. But I wouldn't get the margarita unfortunately. This place is hit or miss.. I ordered a 3 topping one time and asked if extra cheese could be one of the toppings, they said sure. so I got extra cheese and 2 toppings. When I got my pizza there was hardly any cheese let alone extra. I talked to the person at the front and said "there really isn't any cheese and I actually asked for extra." the person in charge said we can give cheese away it's not free, I said I know that's why I used it as a topping, then he said you can't do that. so why did I get 2 toppings then, when I paid for 3.. then he said we can't do that.. so I just said ok.. So all I have to say is for maybe 50cents of extra cheese this guy has lost a costumer.. totally worth it.. I think there pizza is actually pretty good..but that was unacceptable. ill prob go back in a year or so, but I can't support bad customer service! read more

It's what you expect in NY style pizza...big slices, nice sauce and a crust that had a crunch on the outside and was soft and chewy on the inside. Yum! The price is right too, so we will be back. Not a fan. After reading most all good reviews I was expecting something better. The pizza was kinda bland, and we did not get any red pepper flakes or parmesan cheese to help boost up the flavor. We asked for a side of ranch and were told it was .75 cents. Really? Its not complimentary? Not enough cheese either for my taste buds. I like my pizza to be quite cheesy. The toppings were scarce, I ordered a tomato topping and got 1 or 2 half slivers per slice. Its big slices and cheap, which can be a good thing. But you definitely get what you pay for. GREAT pizza. I lived in New Jersey for 4 years and frequented New York City many times just for the pizza. This place does a great job of mimicking authentic New York Style pizza. Nothing is quite as good as the real thing - but this place comes pretty damn close. Only reason it did not receive 5 stars from me was due to the service. I called in my pizza on a Friday night for take-out, arrived 20 minutes later, and I sat there for another good 15 minutes before getting my fresh, hot-out-of-the-oven, pizza. It should have been ready the moment I arrived according to the employee I spoke to on the phone. I also ordered a greek salad and found when I got home they gave me ranch dressing. Ranch for a greek salad? That can't be right. Prices are VERY good - big pizzas for cheap. Thin crust. A bit on the greasy side - but hey, what good flavorful pizza isn't? They also have a Giant 28" pizza for $25. Seemed like a good deal to me if you are feeding an army. I will definitely be ordering from here again - just may order 30 minutes ahead of time so that my pizza will be ready when I arrive. read more

I've had experience on both dine in and delivery, as for dining in, the place is nice and cozy, you can see where the pizzas are made, the wait time for us was only 5 minutes, we had a medium pepperoni with jalapeños, it was super hot and fresh out the oven. as for delivery, i live 3 miles away and the pizza made it to my door within 25 minutes, it was fast and the pizzas was burning hot, i loved it. This place is WAYYYYY better than Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns and any other pizza chain. It isn't THE best pizza ever... but it's way above average =) It's relatively cheap too: Domino's: 14" pizza for $9.69 Pizza Amore: 16" pizza for $9.99 (and much tastier) My best pick though is the 3 topping 20" (which is HUGE) for $17.99 because they tend to make the crust thinner on that size. This pizza kinda reminded me of the pizza that the Ninja Turtles would eat lol They do deliver but only up until 8:30. They are also closed on Mondays. This place is the BEST! Every time I drive up to Escondido, I do not leave until I get my Pizza from this place. I am a NYC transplant in San Diego and when I say that this pizza is the closest I have found to New York pizza, trust me, it's the real deal! The personal slices are HUGE! The whole pizza pies are heavenly. The ambiance is very New York as well, I feel like I'm back home and enjoying some amazing pizza, the crust can not be beat! The people who work there are the friendliest and kindest people. I have never had a bad experience in this joint and have always left full and very happy went here the other night on my way to an event at Escondido Center for the Arts and brought a friend who had also lived in New York and she was blown away as well. The older man who works here (possibly the owner??) is extremely rude. When I called to order he was so impatient and was practically yelling at me. (Mind you I only ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza, nothing too extravagant) when I went to pick it up he was sitting in a chair behind the counter and waited for a woman to come ring me up while he just sat there. They gave me 1 parmesan packet for the whole large pizza and hen I asked for another one he told me that they are 25 cents each, that only 1 packet comes with each pizza. Okay whatever. But then I get home and open the box to find the LEAST amount of toppings I have ever seen on a pizza. Total rip off, terrible customer service, prices comparable to any dominos or Pizza Hut which big give you way more for your money and treat you a million times better. read more

Fantastic pizza! Certainly the best I've had in San Diego county. If you're a fan of NYC style pizza, this is as close as you're going to get on this coast. The dough is not too thick or thin.
