I got a good recommendation from a friend who is not easily impressed, so tonight I decide to be lazy and order a pizza. Oh My Gawd this place has the absolute best pizza in Palmer. I ordered the Mediterranean and it was everything I expected and more. Quality chicken, *real* full-leaf spinach, excellent cheese, just the right amount of sauce, and all the flavors melt together perfectly. My wife and eaten here before when I was out of country and swore it's the best pizza in the valley. I was naturally skeptical. The building is pretty unassuming and just outside of Palmer. I didn't expect the food to be quite so good from such a small establishment. We ordered a classic pepperoni pizza and it was absolutely fantastic. We were on our way to Anchorage from Matanuska glacier and stopped here to get a veggie pizza to go. This is a small place with friendly staff and good food. Loved the pizza. The crust was thin and the sauce was delicious. They stayed open a bit past closing time for us which was nice of them. Would highly recommend. read more

I ordered ( and took out) Greek Fries (served with Tzatziki but no feta) And a Gyro Calzone. Fries were good, but could have used Feta. The crust on the calzone was good, so, I'll try a Pizza soon. If they keep it thin, I'll be a regular. read more

Pizza Atena has been in Palmer for a few years now. Having partaken in their offerings, I have to say that I am a fan. Their menu is very broad and they do it all well. The Dagwood sandwich is monstrous and enough for two. The Atena Special has a great blend of ingredients and you'll never go wrong with it. The Atena Meat Supreme is a carnivores dream. Oh, and the Feta Cheese bread is a great supplement to your order as well. Their delivery is quite good but we usually opt for pickup since we are so close. read more

Wish Yelp had more than 5 star to give. This place is unique in flavours!! Tried there veggie pizza. Never ate such a wonderful crust with so much flavours. Ask them to brush it with Garlic spread. I have to say working in The Butte it can be rather difficult to find good food that is delivery. I want to thank Pizza Athena for delivering when closer pizza places would not. The crust on your pizza is spectacular.....hands down the best i have ever had. The sauce for me was a little on the heavy side as i prefer a light amount of sauce on my pizza. So yea, this is my firest Yelp review, but I have always used Yelp to look for good places to eat. The reason I have never written a review is because honestly, I never really felt like spending the time to join.But after ordering a pizza from this place, I really, really felt like I needed to put my 2 cents into this. I just moved to the area, and was in the mood for a really good pizza. I spent about 40 minutes Googleing and Yelping, and reading about all the pizza joints in the Palmer,Alaska area. After reading all of the 4 and 5 star reviews on Yelp for this joint, I decided to order. A simple order, Large, pesto sauce, pepperoni, linguica, red onion, jalapenos. The girl taking the order at 6:35 pm says, $26.75 and will be here in 45 minutes. Ok, so I call at 7:35 pm to see where the pizza is. " It's on it's way". 10 minutes later, a truck pulls into the driveway. It took the guy 3 minutes to exit his truck and make the 10 second walk to my door. 2 screaming kids and $30 later, into the kitchen we go. So, I really wish I could post the picture I took of this (5 star pizza). Flat. Cold. No flavor to the crust. More toppings on a Digiorno. It really did look like a piece of cardboard with some cheese and afew chunks of 'stuff' on it. The only thing that was recognizable was the pepperoni, and jalapenos. Trash. Garbage. If this is what people are mistaking for 4 and 5 star food, well,... I promise, there is better out there. So in the end, I am forced to give atleast a 1 star rating. I honestly couldn't find a 1 star in this order. I can't, I will not order from this place again. read more

I have never written a review but due to my last two experiences I just can't sit back and let it go.....I usually receive great food and good customer service.....however I have always disliked the sign outside the door that's states "Fast free delivery" because it's anything but fast as there is ALWAYS at least a 2 hour wait on your order. My previous order was for sandwiches but when the order arrived they had forgotten one of the sandwiches and had to go back and make another then re-deliver it, which took 2.5 hours, this time I ordered a simple pizza which we always order and after being told the delivery time would only be 45 minutes when I even stated it'd probably take 2 hours, I was duped into having it delivered. I ordered at 6:55 and when 8:35 rolled around I decided to call and check on my order. I was then told that they marked it for pick up instead of delivery. They then asked if I'd like it delivered (my original request) fearing it'd be midnight before I fed my family I opted to drive and get it. When I arrived I received no apology or "sorry for the inconvenience" or maybe a discount or SOMETHING to show good customer relations as I am a regular customer and always tip at least 4-5 $'s even if I pick it up. I was completely dissatisfied with how I was treated and being made to pay full price for a 2.5 hour old pizza, had it not been nine o'clock I'd have opted to tell them to cancel it and gone elsewhere. I am a loyal and repeat customer but after these two incidents I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It's too bad cuz until now I had really enjoyed the food, but there isn't a meal on earth worth that bullshit. My hats off to you if you have the patience to continue to deal with the long waits and cd full price food. If yelp allowed I'd give it negative stars but you have to at least pick one star or won't be able to post so the star I picked was merely cosmetic and absolutely in no way represents my true feelings of irritation and disgust for how we were treated. read more

One of my favorite places for pizza and calzones. We have never had a bad experience. However, tonight we ordered a meatball grinder and the sauce tasted like it had pumpkin pie seasoning in it. The general consensus was that it was altogether a bad flavor, so we called to complain. Despite previous customer service that had been wonderful, we received a "deal with it" attitude. Overall great place, just don't order the meatball grinder or call to complain. read more
