Called Bolis about 7:55 to determine status and was told it had been dropped by driver and new one would arrive soon to be delivered by manager. Told manager to remove $5 tip from order. Pretty uneventful - I placed an order via phone, and it was ready on time when I got it. While some say the prices are reasonable, I'd agree only if you keep your pizza toppings to a minimum and use some of the coupons available online. I ordered two medium "specialty" pizzas, and my bill came to like $26. I thought that was a ripoff. Pleasantly surprised by the pizza itself though. Okay, let's just get right into it; Pizza Boli's, Vienna, VA: For my money, this is a pretty good pizza store. If that sounds kinda mediocre, let me explain that "pretty good" in this review is a step up from just "good", but doesn't earn an "excellent" or "outstanding". So I'm quite happy with it. Tell ya why: The signature dish, pizza, is among the best, IMO, although lately, they seem to have cut back on the amount of each topping. The flavor and texture, though, is still as good as I've had at any pizza place. I prefer the large Vegilicious on whole wheat crust, with spinach, sausage, and pepperoni add-ons. Over time, I've had other stuff from them; tuna sub, wings, Greek salad, carrot cake. All were entirely acceptable; not the best ever, but perfectly good; no complaints whatever. I have my orders delivered. Delivery times have never been long, and the orders have all been right except this last one. I ordered 2 pieces of carrot cake, and the driver brought only one; but when the driver returned to the store, they sent him right back out. No questions, arguments, or BS. This Boli's does its own delivery, so the delivery cost is lower than with a 3rd party; and, if you prefer, they have no-contact delivery when you prepay. They accept orders online or by phone for delivery, and you can get delivery ASAP, or scheduled for a particular time. Pay by card, or cash on delivery; I dunno if they take checks. Oh; and they have online discounts. On the home page, there's a box with 3 horizontal lines in the lower right. Click it, and look for "offers". I have not ordered from Pizza Boli's in several years ONLY because I found myself ordering their ample variety of "comfort foods" way too often and I made a personal choice to try and eat "healthier", at home. Today, however, I wanted/craved comfort food so I looked for Boli's menu on line. I took the opportunity to read the many YELP reviews and was appalled at how vile some people are in their reviews. For some, it appeared that maybe they "liked to hear themselves talk" - was more about them being "cute" in their vile reviewing styles. Made me wonder if some of them were in cahoots and had some type of personal vendetta with someone at the company. I felt compelled to write a review based on the positive experience I had - not only with the quality of the food but with the exceptional service. First: I received a call several minutes after placing my on-line order through GrubHub. The caller identified himself clearly and wanted to confirm my order as I had left a comment requesting an addition to my sub sandwich that was not listed as an "add-on" option. I appreciated the call and care related to desire to ensure my order was made correctly. Second: my order arrived earlier than anticipated, was still hot and was delivered by a very polite/pleasant delivery person (thank you!!) Third: included with my packaged food was an extra bag, with several sets of plastic gloves and two clinical-type masks. Whomever came up with this idea - what an unexpected surprise! (Thank you!) Lastly - the most important part of this review: the comfort food my daughter and I ordered was exactly what we expected and were looking forward too! Cheesesteak subs (both, customized with add-ons) with perfectly cooked western fries and cheese sticks! We are both feeling "guilty" for indulging and caving into our "comfort food" cravings (yet kicking ourselves for not also getting the Reese Peanutbutter pie slices!) BUT the total experience was an excellent one. We haven't had Pizza Bolin in years, but thought we'd give it another try. Noted is that the Pizza Boli's in the area have different prices and specials. We compared and contrasted the local ones and found the best deal in Vienna. Pizza Bolis also has shrimp and crab toppings which were an added benefit to choosing this place. However, the shrimp on the pizza was sparse and lacked flavor. The crust of the pizza was good and chewy. We ordered spinach and garlic and mushroom onion as well. Both were good. Spinach tasted a little like frozen spinach, but the red onions were the best toppings. Overall, a good experience. read more

Over at a friend's place for dinner, they had ordered from this place, in which I had thought similar to a Papa John's or Pizza Hut type place. On their box, they do advertise more than just pizza, with subs and other types of food. They had ordered a hawaiian pizza (ham and pineapples), a veggie pizza, and a half spinach and pepperoni pizza. Three different pizzas to try and rate! What did I think of it? I actually liked and enjoyed it very much. The pizza crusts are decent. It is different than the Papa John's type crust, and the sauce isn't as sweet as Papa John's, even though I do like everything about Papa John's. The toppings are quite generously spread across the pizza and the pizza is cooked well. As for the taste? It tastes good, better quality than Pizza Hut, and very fresh. If I am in the area for takeout pizza, I would definitely try to order from this place again. On slight negative, maybe because it was Thanksgiving eve, that everyone was ordering out and didn't want to cook, our order didn't arrive until about 1 1/2 hrs after the fact it was ordered. read more

From drivers, who have been to our apartment multiple times (10+) and they still do not know how to get to the door. Personally, I think they would rather have you come to them.
