Crust was still doughy (my oven at home fixed that); seemed like only half the pizza had cheese on it; sauce no real flavor; and the crust just tasted like dough. It's a large sub in a soft sub roll, tasty meats with plenty of veggies on top. Bigger and tastier than anything from subway. There is no dining area. Take out only. Call ahead if you can. Wife worked a long hard day and picked up a pizza for us. Everything was cooked on time with no issues. Store was clean and staff was receptive. Not too busy or loud. I must say after one slice, I have had better frozen pizza that wasn't cooked. We've had decent food from here in the past but today's was just awful. No flavor, crust was chalky and I'm not sure what they're using for cheese but this will be my last pizza from there. Make the trip to Fredericksburg for Benny's or to Montross for Angelo's Pizzeria. We came by here on a whim. It's a little hole in the wall place. I ordered a large pep and a phyllo cheesesteak. And OMG!! Y'all. The cheesesteak was the bomb and the pizza! It tasted like a bite out of the 1990s. If you remember a place called godfathers pizza this is so similar. They put the toppings under the cheese with a ton of sauce and yep! We have been loyal Bono's customers since I moved here in 2014. I don't know what has happened. The last 2 pizza's we have ordered we're flat and not their "normal" pizza we expected. We figured we would have the steak subs which have always been excellent well the last time we ordered we thought it might be an off day because they were not good. Well today we have them a second shot at the steak subs. First of all we threw them away, after 3 or 4 bites. VERY DISAPPOINTED. They switched rolls and I ordered extra fried onion and got none. I had to take a spoon and remove the gobs of mayo. Maybe there are new owners or something else is wrong. I don't think we will order delivery again. We will use Ledos it's def worth the drive. I stopped here to pick up some lunch on the way into work. I opted for an 8" meatball sandwich for $5.25. While it was being prepared, I noticed that I could have a lunch special that added in fries and a 20 oz. soda for an extra dollar. So, naturally I upgraded. The sandwich was made to order and prepared right in front of me. So I saw the cook grill the meatballs, toast the bun, and sauce and season the sandwich. The sandwich was surprisingly very good, and I liked the sauce. So I would say their pizza has potential -- I may have to try it next time. The only clear drawback is the lack of promotion. I didn't see any take away menus, and I would not have known there was a lunch special if I hadn't seen the small paper announcing it on the side wall. WOW! I ordered a large pizza and 18 wings for delivery, they told me 1 hour. After receiving the order 30mins late, I called to complain. I explained that the pizza was EXTREMELY SOGGY AND THEY DIDNT PROVIDE ANY RANCH FOR THE WINGS. The owner AJ yelled at me and told me he'd give me a free pizza to make up for it, BUT I would have to pick it up. I showed up to pick up my pizza and they informed me that they will never deliver to me again. JUST WOW! That's what I call customer service! ITS NOT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT THAT THE MANAGER IS LOADING THE DELIVERY DRIVER WITH TOO MANY PIZZAS. WOW!! I wasn't even mean when I complained about it. Surprisingly good! The place looks like a hole in the wall, but the food is tasty and the guys are nice. Also they deliver! I've had the pizza several times and recently got pepperoni Stromboli and calzone. (It should be noted that their Stromboli looks just like the calzone but has sauce in it.)
