I am a New Yorker, grew up on Long Island and spent tons of time in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. I know good NY style pizza. Beavercreek Pizza Dive is the closest to authentic NY Pizza, in the Dayton area. Really enjoyed having dinner there with my family. I asked the young man behind the counter if they made Sicilian style Pizza. He had no idea what that was. It would be awesome if they did offer Sicilian Pizza. Being from the East Coast and transplanting to Ohio it is very difficult to find good pizza that isn't cut in teeny tiny finger bite sizes so it was so awesome to find this place. I hate the pizza in Ohio like Marions and Milanos or any other one that destroys their pizza by cutting it tiny and tasteless. This place was absolutely delicious and brought back memories of good new York style slices. They have great lunch specials and night specials. We got a slice and a garden salad for $7 and to be honest i thought it would be a small side salad but it was enormous. Their pepperoni even curls like back home. Awesome job in every way. 1st off, this is the first time I've ever had pizza from this place and I'll be the first to tel you it's absolutely delicious. The crust, the sauce, the cheese. Amazing. In regards to the gentleman that said its no better than any other pizza chain he's been to, I'm not sure where he goes but it's no comparison to your typical franchise. 110% better. Secondly, I cannot say enough about their customer service. I ordered a pick up over the phone and when I arrived the pizza was not cooked with the toppings I requested due to miscommunication. Charles, said give me 8 minutes and cooked a new pizza for me with the proper toppings and gave me the pizza that was incorrect for free. It's not everyday that you find pizza like this, and it's not every other day you find customer service like this. Mom and Pop shop, 100% has my business. read more

My family and I have been frequenting Beavercreek Pizza Dive for well over a year now. Everything I wrote about the restaurant still stands. It's great pizza and great service! I love the way it brings people/businesses together via Facebook promotions. On the rare occasion I pick up pizza (I've been pregnant, so my H brings home the pizza ;) ), I've seen so many happy little faces exiting. Very sweet! Speaking of pregnancy, Beavercreek Pizza Dive has this promotion where you get a free meal (pizza, breadstick, soda, etc) when you newly give birth to a little squish. Well, my H and I missed the part where you're supposed to sign up on their website and prove your pregnancy, etc. Whoops. Pregnancy brain... ! After five minutes of speaking with a manager (not sure, which, sorry!), the pizza joint was able to "let" us redeem this perk at a later visit. So, full disclosure here: after writing my initial (3-star) review of Beavercreek Pizza Dive, I was contacted by Theresa--one of the owners of BPD. She appreciated my honest feedback and offered a $25 credit, if I'd be willing to give them another run. Far be it from me to turn down some free pizza, so I accepted! This time around, I got our pies without the garlic/butter glaze--one cheese and one Hawaiian (and a BLT for Jules, but we're not counting that one). Much to my excitement, I was pleased to see some New York style pizza much closer to what I'd expect from some traditional thin crust. The proportions of cheese to sauce to crust were perfect, and the crust itself was perfect for folding. Minus the outside glaze, BPD's pies were exactly what I'd originally hoped for. One thing I hadn't gotten to try earlier was BPD's pretzels, which were an utter delight. Dense and delicious, the pretzels had just the right amount of salt and were a solid deal at 4 for $5. Definitely worth your money. As you can see above, I've gone ahead and increased my rating of BPD to 4-stars based on all this. While the glaze still isn't to my taste, the pizza is great without it and the pretzels were an added bonus. Plus, it's wonderful knowing that the owners really care what you think as a customer and value your happiness. read more

A lot of people think pizza is like sex, even if it's bad, it's still good. I think of it like sex too, if I'm paying money for it, you should at least put some effort into it. (Okay, I've never paid for it, but I'm sure if you wanted to try out that analogy, CraigsList would be a good start). Beavercreek Pizza Dive had great reviews on Yelp, so naturally, being a fan of pizza and having it in the vicinity of work I went to check it out. Now, I've never been to New York, and outside of the more famous NY pizza chains (think Michael Scott's favorite) I haven't had New York style. I saw that the Pizza Dive was offering a $5 for 2 slices deal I decided today would be the day. I was the only person dining in during my 20 minute window and wished it had more dine in business (they deserve it). Why do they deserve it? Because they came out with 2 HUGE slices as pizza as big as the tray they gave me. The crust was crunchy, the sauce, sweet and tangy, and the toppings were delicious. Stopped here for lunch one day when working in Dayton. I picked up their 2 slices for $5.00 special. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered a cheese slice and pepperoni slice. I guess I got there a little late because I got the last slice of each pie, not sure how long it had been sitting there, but figured what the heck. They heated it up, I took it back to my office and was not disappointed in the least bit. The slices were giant, think NYC style slice! They tasted pretty darn good too. One of my tests for Pizza is that it doesn't flop down when you try to pick it up to eat...and these slices passed the test. I could pick it up and eat it without having to hold it above my head and directing it to my mouth. It folded nicely too, just like NYC slices. The crust was thin with a light chewy texture. The cheese, plenty of it, was tasty and the sauce also had great flavors. I will definitely go back here again if I find myself in Dayton again. read more

I've lived in Dayton for almost 7 years and this is the best pizza in town in my opinion. They have a buffet on Monday that is a killer deal because they fill it with their best gourmet pizzas vs. cheap crap. I've not had a pizza that I didn't like from this place. I reserve 5 stars for places that I think are good enough to take people who are visiting from out of town, and I can't imagine not taking someone here to try the bomber! Their prices are a little higher than chain places but in this case you get what you pay for. I also want to mention that this is a true mom and pop shop, which is something I love when it comes to eateries. I've met the owners several times, they are very nice. In fact, my girlfriend raved about one of the pizzas they were trying out on the buffet and they were nice enough to come to our table, without us asking for it, with some of it boxed to go simply out of appreciation for our liking of their new pizza. NY style pizza is hard to find in Dayton, and this place has it. Big foldable slices at reasonable prices. They make their own sauce and it's a rich hearty sauce (not the watered down sweet stuff I'm used to finding around here), and they also make a garlic sauce that they put on the crust that gives the pizza that extra zing. Order a side of the garlic sauce to dip your crust in, yum! If you go at lunchtime, they have a pizza bar with 2 slices for $5. And, the slices are huge. Or you can get one slice and a salad for $5. It's really a great deal and perfect for a quick lunch. My favorite though, is the buffet on Mondays. It's $7 for adults and $2 for kids. It gives you a chance to try all the different types. They have specials every day of the week. One thing to note - they have canned and fresh mushrooms - make sure to ask for fresh mushrooms when you order if that's what you like. I literally melt when I take my first bite of a Beavercreek Pizza Dive Pizza. I've never had a bad pie here. I lived in NYC for four years and it is so nice to have found a go-to NYC style pizza. The pizza sauce isn't too sweet which I love, but the crust is so it's as if dessert is included at the end of every slice. My husband and I love their weekly specials. We usually get cheese or pepperoni because they are simply delicious. However, we do go for the Bronx bomber when we have company SUPER filling SUPER delicious and SUPER impressive for guests. read more

Little pizza place located on the southwest corner of Grange Hall and Dayton Xenia Rd in Beavercreek. The staff is the best. Very friendly. The pizza is New York Style and is just amazing. They put a buttery garlic coating on the outside crust that adds a little sweet to the pizza. They also have sub sandwiches but the pizza is so good I have yet to try them. Seating is limited, there are about 7 or 8 tables in the dining area. They also have a BOMBER pizza that I believe is about 7 pounds of pizza. If 2 people can eat it in less than 30 minutes, it's free! My co worker and I took one of those back to work and we had 2 pieces left and it took us about 35 minutes to eat what we did!..LOL..definitely a challenge if you are up for it. I have always been a Marions pizza fan and still am, but this is definitely second on my list now! Better than Joes on Airway! Locally owned/operated, quality food, and attentive staff. Food: Scratch made dough starts everyday. Style is reminiscent of classic New York City (think Joe's Pizza of Greenwich Village), with a thin yeast risen dough, midely sweet red sauce, and lots of delicious mozzarella. Crust is baked to perfection during a short ride on the conveyor oven, and is finished on the other side with a rub with a house made sweet garlic butter. The chef/owner has a number of novel pie's including the Bomber, Greek, and BLT just to name a few. The bomber is a a meatlovers dream; layers of all things meat (sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and ham) with a few sliced banana peppers, and copious amounts of mozzarella are sandwiched between two rounds of dough, and coated with glaze of sweet butter. Each slice is a meal in itself, and sure to resolve even the most extreme hunger pains. The Greek and BLT feature a standard pie, which is topped with greens and different sauces after it rolls through the oven. In addition to the pie's, plan on enjoying some of the pretzel bites or bread bites. These treats are a different take on the standard breadsticks found elsewhere. These dishes include a choice of dipping sauce. Id recommend opting for the spicy nacho cheese, it wont disappoint! Their menu also includes other treats, such as sandwiches and calzones the size of your head! One thing you can always be assured, is that your meal will be prepared fresh from scratch with quality products and care. Venue: The shop location and unassuming exterior might have you wondering it this is the right place. Rest assured, it is a hidden gem! The parking lot has space for around 15 vehicles. The restaurant features two primary dining areas, the front patio and inside. The patio offers picnic style dining with a few corn hole boards to pass the time while you pie is made fresh. Inside has about 10 tables, generally seating 4 people each. There are a few tables that seat 6 or 8. All of the tables are free standing, and could be moved to accommodate a large party. A promently featured hot bar makes possible a Monday special pizza buffet, which features almost every pie for patrons to sample. Staff: The restaurant generally is staffed with 5-8 employees. From the owner down to the cashier and everywhere between, are commited to providing the best possible customer experience. The staff also partners regularly with local schools and nonprofits to host fundraisers and give back to the local community. Ordered a couple of pizzas for take out. They were both tasty and the price was quite reasonable, especially with the Tuesday 2 for 1 deal. These are not the fancy hipster pizzas you get from Wheat Penny, but they are very nicely flavored with good ingredients and a nice crust. We also ordered a salad that was nothing special. The atmosphere is really easy going and it allowed my big group to talk very boisterously outside at the picnic tables. The staff is very attentive. And the servers had great attitudes. For the price it's definitely worth it. I ended up eating maybe a pizza and a half of different flavors and drink about 3 cups of soda. So it's definitely an enjoyable bargain. I really like the Beavercreek Pizza dive. It is a very family friendly place which is important to me since I have 3 kids. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. It is locally owned so supporting them supports our local economy! I love the Monday buffet because it is affordable for the whole family with a ton of variety. I tend to like the less common pizza and I can get that here. my only complaint is that there are onions on almost all the pizza's at the buffet, and I hate onions, so I find myself picking them off. I would love if they would have some of their yummy varieties at the buffet sans onions, and then maybe my kids might try them too! This place also does a ton of community work and I absolutely love their charitable hearts. I got a free meal through the stork club after I had a baby. That was a major blessing. I follow the Facebook page for giveaways too, and I have won a few things! So overall, I really recommend this place! read more

This place honestly has decent pizza. The problem, however, is that they only make it right SOMETIMES. We like extra sauce on our pizza from here because their pizza tends to be made with a thin layer of sauce. I have ordered "extra sauce" 5 times from here and it has only actually been made with extra sauce once. It's not worth it to take your business here if they only make your order right 20% of the time. It is not the worst place I've ever been to but it is certainly not the best. It sucks because when they make it right, it's a damn good pizza. They just have a hard time getting it right. I wouldn't recommend it but I wouldn't say "stay away from here." This place is amazing!!! Definitely a "dive" but the prices and staff were great. My husband and I split a 6 slice that was half Hawaiian half pepperoni. The sauce has a rich sweet taste but not overbearing. I don't usually like red sauce but this stuff was great! The only con was their soda fountain. Most of the flavors wee very watery and had a dirty taste. Not sure if it was the water or the machine. They have bottled options and I will get that next time. Wow, so many great things to say about this place! Of course the food is delicious! They also have good specials. The buffet is awesome! You get to try so many unique types of pizza. We fell in love with the mac and cheese pizza (which sounded terrible, but is absolutely amazing)! They are always packed because so many people love them. On a different note, the owners and employees are just amazing! Teresa is so incredibly kind and thoughtful. The way they give back and participate in community events is inspiring. They definitely make Beavercreek an even better city to live in! The cheesy games they play are so cute and fun. I've won at least twice! (And I enter contests all the time and never win.) The personal touch they provide to their customers is unheard of this day and age. On one of the cheesy games I mentioned something about my anniversary and Teresa sent me a private message on Facebook to wish me a happy anniversary, I was so incredibly touched! Last year they did Santa pizza deliveries. It was the cutest idea. They asked for personal details to share about the kids when they arrived and they remembered every last detail! Excellent pizza. I love their pepperoni, especially double pepperoni well done with a nice crisp on the edges. Overall the pizza is solid and a step above most of the pies served in Dayton. One point of improvement on the food would be the cheese as it is on the bland side however that is being picky; another improvement could be in the ranch which has a processed "Hidden Valley" resemblance. Their take home/make your own pizza option is a fun thing to have with small parties or just family where everybody can collaborate to make their own "best pizza." The take home kit has everything you need and was a nice introduction to pizza making (in general, cooking) for my little brother. Delivery times can be slow however I would highly recommend this place regardless if you want a solid pepperoni pizza. read more

I had high hopes based on Yelp reviews (maybe too high??). The restaurant wasn't clean. We arrived 2 minutes before the pizza bar closed (mind you, we didn't know they even had one!) and they refused to let us get any pizza from that. The pizza was just okay. The atmosphere was filled with a couple of employees complaining about another one who hopefully wasn't actually there at the time. This pizza was so freaking good - but only if you like a generous amount of grease on it (like yours truly). You know how pizza looks in the cartoons - triangles, thin, with cheese hanging off the sides as you pull a slice away from the whole pie (mouth watering yet?)? That's this pizza. Greasy, hot, and awesome. There's nothing special about the inside of the restaurant, but it's not necessary. The pizza bar is a cool idea, especially during the lunch hour (although I could easily eat a whole pizza to myself!). But alas, no free pretzels that I read about in other reviews. Maybe they stopped doing that? Not totally sure. Anyways, I don't really care - the pizza is good enough without anything else! Will be coming back for sure! read more

I love a greasy pizza, dont get me wrong but this goes beyond grease. I had never been here and decided after all the reviews to give it a try....big mistake....my stomach is still recovering. My pizza arrived and was covered in an oil slick along with tiny pepperoni cups full of oil. I attempted to grab my first slice to give it a try and the toppings literally slid off the pizza. I couldnt even eat a piece without everything sliding onto my plate. The quality of the cheese and toppings is a 1/5 at best. I am only giving two stars for three reasons, one the crust has a good flavor, two the sauce itself was flavorful and third the pretzel bites were very good. Save yourself the indigestion and get a frozen pizza. read more

Based on one lunch trip. It's a nice place near work, and offered NY style. First the good stuff. Staff are friendly, helpful. Free wireless. I had to ask for a password which was gladly shared. Good lunch specials. Got the slice of cheese, breadstick (both generously sliced) and salad.. Salad - fresh, crunchy - it's not common for me to come away this impressed by a house salad, but it hit the spot. Good! Sriracha and hot sauces available. They are also offer a gluten-less (bonus points for honesty, it's a pizza kitchen folks) pizza and sauce-free creations for variety. All excellent signs. The meh factor - the pizza and the breadstick. Which is sad, because this is the pizza dive. Please can I have it warmer and less greasy next time? It was just past noon, I was the sole dine-in customer. The pizza could be fresher than that, surely? The last time I had pizza like that it was a hair of the dog hangover special from the previous night.. And there's a garlic glaze on the breadstick I'm still remembering fragrantly.
