My vote for best wings in San Diego! Hands down. Not too overdone, nice and saucey but not slathered, and not breaded. The pizza was tasty! The sauce my personal opinion a little heavy but not bad. Bottom of the crust a nice crisp not burned. As for the location parking is a little tough. Nice cozy location on the corner and inside its a great spot for a game and a beer. We came at night ordered pizza garlic bread and wings, they had a happy hour deal going on. Owner Sam was a true gentleman of golden value system. He gave us a cannoli on the house. He asked us if we were federal workers and we said no we work in a private clinic. I'm pretty sure if I was a federal worker during this gov shut down he would have given us a discount. Ohhh really wanted to love this place since it's down the street. I thought it would be more authentic considering the name. The wings were okay, the flavor was good. The pizza was okay, didn't really like the crust it was a bit chewy. We ate it , but wasn't excited to eat the leftovers the next day if you know what I mean. Even air frying it couldn't help it. This is the only pizza I've had in SD that brought me back to eating pizza as a kid in NY. Literally a flavor flashback. Absolutely love the crust and the balanced saltiness of the cheese. The staff was okay, but there wasn't much of a friendly vibe when I came in or during my visit. The first pizza I tried was great -- loved the sauce and the perfect crispiness of the dough. Unfortunately, the second one I ordered was completely different. It came out soggy and dripping with oil. I even tried to let the excess drain off, but when I took a bite, more oil literally poured out -- at least half a teaspoon. I also ordered chicken wings, which one seemed undercooked and still had some pink inside. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a picture at the time. Later on that evening, I started feeling sick -- bad stomach cramps, nausea, and multiple trips to the bathroom. I'm almost certain it was from this meal. Also, I noticed one of the servers had long nails, which doesn't seem sanitary for food service. Overall, I was disappointed given the high ratings and how busy the place usually is. Just got back from a trip from Mexico with friends and we're STARVING after a crazy long drive. We stumbled upon this absolute gem of a restaurant and couldn't be happier. From the moment we walked in we were greeted so sweetly by both workers. Little did we know our server Sam was also the owner. Sam was so patient with us being indecisive on what we wanted and helped with recommendations. After taking our order he went into the back and helped prepare the food. We were blown away with each dish that came out, one better than the next. The lunch special is a steal. We were able to upgrade the spaghetti to pesto which was absolutely delicious. Salads were super fresh and yummy! Pizza was mouthwatering. Everything came out super hot. At the end Sam came over with a plate of cannolis for us. As an Italian from New York, let me tell you.
