We were excited to try Rosemarie's especially during happy hour! Order when you arrive with the person at the register. Your food will be brought to your table. We ordered a buffalo fried chicken slider, a burger slider and a shrimp slider. They were presented beautifully and please see details for their flavors on their menu. The buns on the sliders were perfect. Each held the fillings without melting away. My favorite was the burger, which I believe was a wagyu burger. We ordered the duck fat fries with elote corn. As local here and this is my first time coming here . Worth the hype for sure from walking in and seeing all the old school wedding photo like the ones your grandparents have to the friendly welcome I received when entering . We came around 12:30 and it wasn't too busy but parking was a headache . We ordered Brussels and onion rings and two slider one wagu the other was a Hawaiian style chicken . Great service and delicious food!!!! Saw this place on Gareth Eats and been waiting to try it. My family tried the following sliders; Rosiemac, soft shell crab, Nashville hot chicken, little Sal, little munchie, the luau, and the Bombay. We also had the following fries; spicy elote, blue cheese and bacon, and regular fries w/ chipotle aioli. Where thing was flavorful. We got our fries first and started devouring them and thought they were amazing until the sliders came. The fries were delicious but the sliders stole the show. Each slider we got tasted completely different and unique. The rosiemac and little Sal are both wagyu burger patty's and so flavorful and juicy. Can't wait to go back. My husband already has his order in mind lol and is going to skip fries to have more sliders lol. We got a picture of everything except the Bombay and luau sliders and the regular fries because someone started eating before we could get a picture. These sliders were packed with flavor! The luau burger was sweet and salty, which paired well with the pickled cabbage. The buns are soft and buttery. The Nashville hot chicken brought some heat, but you could tone it down with the pickle on top if needed. Although they're small, they were definitely filling! We heard about this place from Yelp and saw a few Youtubers come to try their sliders. The restaurant is located in Ocean Beach on sunset Cliffs. It's mainly street parking. The restaurant is itself is very small but well decorated with only a few inside tables in the front and a few tables in the back sunroom. You order the counter and they bring your food to you after they give you a number. The staff was very friendly and gave us good recommendations. We went for a happy hour around 3 PM and the food came out fairly quickly as there were only a few other people there. The elote fries tasted just like it elote, but it was too salty. The onion rings were amazing! So crispy and fresh. The beef sliders were juicy, flavorful and had very unique flavor profiles. The fried chicken one was crispy and seasoned well. I had been wanting to try this place and finally made it. Parking: we found street parking right away very close to the restaurant. We went in the late afternoon so that could be why. It's in a part of OB that isn't quite as busy as Newport, for example, so parking will be easier. Food: I had the single original RosieMac, and it was delicious. They use wagyu for the patties. You can also get a double, but the single was perfect for me. They call their burgers and sandwiches sliders, and it is smaller than your traditional cheeseburger, but definitely bigger than the standard "slider."One slider there was the perfect amount of food for me. They offer 2 sliders for $17, or $8.50 each. We didn't try the fries or onion rings, but they looked great. Ambiance: it's a relatively small place. You order at the register and seat yourself. You better hope there aren't a ton of people waiting because there is not much space for a long line. They have a small section of tables in the front of the restaurant as well as in back. They also have a small outdoor section in front of the restaurant that has bar seating. They are dog friendly! Service: the woman working there was very nice and friendly, but she was working by herself and it seemed like they could've definitely used one or two more people. It's possible someone called out or whatever, but hopefully they have a few more servers or staff during busy times. Improvement: holy flies. I'm not sure if it's only an issue in the summer, but there are a tremendous amount of flies flying all around the restaurant. The windows are open in front and you could not find anywhere without flies buzzing around constantly. Especially while you have food, there are just so many flies. I found myself trying to eat as fast as possible so the flies wouldn't ruin my food. That made it not very relaxing. I'll get my food to go next time to avoid the flies. The other thing is, imho, chicken sandwiches are best made with chicken breasts instead of chicken thighs. I would suggest going to Sunset Cliffs after to walk or sit by the water. The sun is shining down from God in heaven and Ricky Sausage and co. have wandered into Rosemarie's Buns & Brews. What do we spy? Yelp top 100 for 2024 and 2025? The spirit of criticism compels me!! Tonight I dine with my wife, Beaky Sausage, and my 18 month old son, Uh-Oh Sausage, while we are on vacation. In the spirit of dining with an 18 month old, we arrive promptly at 5:15 PM on a Thursday. The restaurant only has one other patron dining with a baby. My people!! We start off with a basket of the spicy elote fries. We salivate profusely and rub our hands together like flies. Beaky notes "It's a huge portion. Quite spicy! Loved all the different peppers and pickled accoutrements." We are collectively splitting 4 sliders. The single meal accommodating two smaller burgers is an awesome idea! We love to try new things and share, and this format fits us perfectly. Burgers may feel quaint but innovation stirs here. We start with the Rosie Mac. Beaky finds it to be "Perfectly fine." This fine burger accomplishes the Big Mac-adjacent goal deliciously. This was definitely Uh-Oh's favorite (in addition to all pickled accoutrements throughout the meal). He Flavor Dances in enjoyment, the flavors painting a melody in his mind. Next we're on to the Lil Munchies. Amidst firework-like explosions of mayonnaise, Beaky remarks "Very messy! Mayonnaise was going everywhere. But delicious!" And how about the softshell crab burger? Beaky says "Truly softshell. No hard pieces. Usually I get hard pieces and realize 'I don't like softshell crab.' Not the case here!" Finally, we had the Nashville Hot Chicken. Beaky belches fire while stating "It was spicy! A drier hot chicken (which was nice!) and not super messy. The chicken was so moist and high quality." Overall, we had a lovely and delightful experience. The only oddness was the auditory battle of loud reggae playing front-of-house against loud reggaeton in back-of-house. We are excited for the new server that was training up tonight. I was looking for some place new that had outdoor seating and was dog friendly. Rosemarie's came up but I had already been. But then one of my friends said it's their second location. OOOoooooohhh! LOL! Parking is actually easier at this location. It's also in an area of OB that isn't too busy but busy enough for the restaurants along Sunset Cliffs. Friendly greeting and the young woman was excited that it was our first time. Love that the menu is simple. We each had the the Classic and the Round Up, a huge plate of fries, and two glasses of red wine. Yeah, we're not really beer drinkers. They also have soft drinks too! Both burgers were very good! Move over HODAD'S, there's a new BEST BURGER in OB! My son is a burger connoisseur so for his birthday he wanted to try his place. Can't believe it took us this long! It immediately jumped into our top five burger joints in San Diego! They only do sliders, and all the beef is Wagyu, but they have a good variety and the cost is the same regardless of toppings. Their happy hour is killer too! They don't have a huge selection of beers, but during happy hour they're only $5! We got a good sample of everything, including the Cajun softshell crab slider. their fries were huge, perfectly crispy, and definitely shareable The service was excellent! Food: I don't think there was any slider that I didn't like and since we were in a group, I got to try quite a few. My favorites were The Rosemarie, Bombay Chicken and the Luau. Small and dirty, maybe they didn't have enough staff working but tables were dirty, food trays piled up and just gross. We ordered and didn't realise they charged us for 2 extra burgers... so had to get refund for that. They brought the fries out first and they were cold. You could tell it was well seasoned, but it was missing something. The RosieMac just hits. So good. The little Sal with the bacon whiskey sauce is a vibe as well, giving just a little punch of flavor. The little munchies is just heaven in your mouth. Very very saucccyy. I'm pretty sure I ordered the bleu cheese crumbles on the side, don't come for me. Just not a fan. The soft shell crab one is pretty good, for when you're feeling adventurous. Casual spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The small rear dining room had national news playing loudly, so I moved to the front where music was playing. Service was super friendly. My first time there, I visited during happy hour when they have a selection of sliders for seven dollars each, and drink discounts. I tried three sliders, We Have Eggplant, Captain Jack, and a Rosiemac, the house Wagyu burger. I can't tell you which was my favorite, they were all amazing and delicious. If I had to pick, I'd probably go with the eggplant because it's unusual. The eggplant was sliced thin, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, in a nice stack on the bun. So good. The Captain Jack had two large shrimp on it, grilled just right. The Wagyu burger was decadent and delicious. I will definitely return, and it doesn't have to be during happy hour. I usually look at photographs before I order, but today I didn't. I went into this blindly with only the knowledge that it was named the best burger spot in the San Diego Magazines Best Restaurant List of 2024. The name Rosemarie's is just too cute so I stopped by today with some friends! There were soo many tasty sounding choices but I only went with one slider since I wasn't too sure the size of them (even though it was mentioned on the menu-- I'm more of a visual person). I ordered the Little Munchies Slider with no blue cheese crumbles. It honestly blew my mind that this was called little munchies because the chicken piece was actually quite large -- in comparison to the buns of course. Personally, the temperature of the chicken was soo hot that I couldn't taste the delicious flavors that were described on the menu: "Marinated & deep fried chicken thigh + chef's special wildflower honey buffalo sauce + ranch drizzle [- blue cheese crumbles] + Kewpie mayo." Since I'm not used to perfectly cooked chicken thighs I was a little unsure about eating a softer feeling chicken (I'm used to over cooked I bet)-- that's just me! I love 'spicy' chicken sandwiches so I had to order it! It cost $8. My friend got The Luau $8 which was highly recommended to me. This had a teriyaki grilled pineapple on it that paired really well with the slaw and wagyu. I was deciding between this one and the little munchies so I'll give this one a try next time. Two of them ordered the Cajun Soft Shell Crab $8. This looked spectacular, if I liked soft shell crab. It had a refreshing smear of lemon aioli and old bay slaw. Omg, that combo is just a killer! If walking north on the Mission Beach boardwalk, turn right on Sunset Ct and restaurant will be to your left on Mission Blvd. We really enjoyed The Classic Double Wagyu slider and the Nashville Hot Chicken sliders. Both were very tasty, juicy and seasoned well. The sliders are a bit pricey but worth it. The French fries were also tasty and very crispy. You order in front, and the staff brings the food over to your table. It was empty at the time we visited at 1 pm, but more people arrived. I got two sliders ($17): the Little Sal and The Round Up. We also shared spicy elote fries ($14) and Eddie's famous churros ($10.50). I didn't realize after looking at my receipt that they added a 4% service charge. This is a great place to visit with a group since you can share a side and dessert in addition to getting your own sliders. Both sliders had delicious wagyu patties and sauces. To make up for size, they were packed with flavor. The toothpicks helped keep the sliders intact when eating them. I liked how The Round Up had a little onion ring and bacon crumble. With the fries, I enjoyed the chipotle aioli on the fries but felt that they had a little too much seasoning. It tasted a tad too salty at some points. Our dessert included six churros, a few big scoops of vanilla ice cream, and cajeta quemada, a Mexican caramel made with slow-cooked goat's milk. The staff member who brought our food excitedly explained the dessert, and it tasted very delicious. For the price, I'd highly recommend ordering this. While we enjoyed the filling meal, the ambience wasn't the best. For example, there were stubborn flies around our food that we had to shoo away many times. Cozy place with character and a friendly staff. We had the double Rosiemac with fries. It was absolutely delicious. The slider was perfect size, good quality meat, cheese, pickle. You order and they bring it to you. There's dining inside and outside which both are clean and nice with fun decorations and a tv on the enclosed patio. They just celebrated 2 years and going strong.
