    Fried ravioli
    Bailey B.

After a visit to show my parents the Cook Museum in Decatur, we made the drive over here to try some pizza. I saw an article about it on al.com a while ago and was eager to try it out. Located at the edge of Hartselle's Main Street, parking is limited to mostly street parking so it can be a tiny bit challenging, but we managed well enough. The restaurant is rectangular shaped and sort of "long," but has regular four-tops and booths. It took a minute for anyone to greet us but we were instructed to choose our own seats. Though they weren't super busy, many of the tables needed some attention/tidying. One waitress saw us eyeing a somewhat dirty booth and she offered to wipe it down for us, which we appreciated. Once we were seated the same waitress took care of us; she was attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. We got fried ravioli for an appetizer and then split an Alfredo pizza. I'm told this is one of the few places in Alabama (esp northern Alabama) where you can get more legit deep dish pizza, but they also offer Neapolitan/thinner crusts, which is what we ordered. A few other appetizers, salads, pastas, and sandwiches are also on the menu. Some of the pastas looked pretty good! There was also a very reasonable sort of "you pick two" deal going on for lunch. The fried ravioli came out very quickly. They were super crispy and hot and had the right amount of gooey cheese. I really enjoyed the slightly sweet, slightly salty red dipping sauce; it was understated but flavorful. As someone who usually is very lukewarm on marinara/tomato based pizza sauces, this was a good one and made me interested in trying a more traditional pizza in the future. As it was, our Alfredo pizza, which was delivered following a moderate lag time after our ravioli, was quite tasty. The crust was a good balance of chewy and crispy; the cheese was hot and bubbly; and the chicken topping was almost shaved into very thin pieces that were slightly crispy. I liked this because I think larger chicken pieces on pizza get gummy sometimes. This was a nice change. The Alfredo sauce was rich but not sickeningly so and complemented the cheese on top well. Quite solid pizza at a reasonable price. There's another location in Guntersville if I remember correctly. I'd recommend giving them a try. I'd return to try another pie or maybe be adventurous and try deep dish.

    Kids cheese pizza

This was the first time eating here and I thought it was really good. I had a calzone and my daughter had the kids cheese pizza. The service was pretty good. I thought it was kind of funny the waiter was wearing an applebees apron. They had plenty of tvs to watch the game. We went on a Friday night, and they had plenty of seating and no wait. So if you looking for a quaint little place to eat some pizza or pasta, give them a try

We ordered 2 pizzas to go. One pepperoni pizza and one Chicago style deep dish. Both pizzas taste great! Worth the drive!!! Customer service was fast and friendly. I would recommend 9/10

Didn't feel like a welcoming environment by other patrons. However, for a larger group, we were taken care of quickly. Food was quite bland.

The food was great ! The service was excellent. Our server, Ashley was so attentive to our needs, she made sure we were fully taken care of. Would recommend and return in the future.

Customer Service: I loved the fact that you could seat yourself, after walking a few blocks that was a great thing. Server: Very polite, smiled, and was very helpful. She kept an eye on our table and made sure we kept a drink without dizzying around like a bee. Love great customer service. Food: The breadsticks wasn't nothing special, you can buy them at any supermarket, however the pizza and the fried ravioli was to die for. We will definitely keep this pizza place on our must stop by when in the area, and on occasion, just drive to Hartselle because Pizza Ed is there.

The Motor City Madman Detroit style pizza.

Ordered the Detroit style pizza, The Motor City Madman. It was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! As a native Detroiter I have to say this is the best Detroit style pizza I've had in a long time. A lot of places try but they just don't get it right. Pizza Ed nailed it!

Service was a little slow to start. It was about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us but once we were served the service couldn't have been better. This is the best pizza around. The crust is so light and crispy. The fried ravioli was my favorite. I could have made a meal of it. We will definitely go back.

It was later in the afternoon (like 2ish) so the restaurant was fairly quiet when I entered. It's located on a corner as you enter Hartselle's downtown area. I always find parking to be challenging around Main Street, so I parked in a large lot about two blocks down and just walked over to not have to battle with traffic and parallel parking. The inside is beautiful and has a first and second floor. The vibe is pretty much perfect; it reminds me a little of a bistro, with sort of a classical aura but without tackiness or over-grandiosity. The music selection matched the ambiance perfectly. There are lovely large windows and cozy as well as more traditional seating options. I walked my way back to the counter, passing the beautiful baked goods, where I was asked if I'd like a lunch menu or coffee and a pastry. When I indicated I wanted to eat lunch, I was encouraged to sit and relax and let them grab me a menu and a drink. The service was lovely all around; I was checked on plenty and they seemed genuinely concerned about whether or not I enjoyed myself (I did)! They were also very helpful and friendly when I placed a to go order for some pastries for later. Sweet and charming conversationalists! The sweet tea I had to drink was legit some of the best tea I've had in a long time. I know they offer Piper and Leaf tea and I wonder if it was their take on Front Porch Special. I love that tea. At any rate, it was perfectly sweet and flavorful. I ordered the pimento cheese BLT. They have upgraded side options for an extra charge but I was content with the kettle chips. The sandwich was made on a nice soft but chewy bread -- sourdough? -- and the smoked Gouda pimento cheese had just enough smoke. The bacon was absolutely delicious, crispy and so flavorful. The lettuce was more of a mix and I enjoyed that as opposed to just romaine. Truly my only criticism of lunch is I wish that the bread would've been toasted, or that I'd been offered the opportunity to have it toasted. I'd wished for a little warmth on my sandwich. I got a kitchen sink type of cookie and a white chocolate raspberry scone to go for a treat later. These didn't knock my socks off quite as much as lunch did, but both were enjoyable, the cookie especially. Lots of goodies inside and a good balance of chewy and crispy. I could've gone for a little more both raspberry and white chocolate, but my husband really liked it -- he said it tasted like a fancy poptart lol. Overall, I really really enjoyed my visit here. We have friends in Hartselle and I will happily recommend and return when able!

We have been meeting there on a regular basis for over a year - loved the food, the coffee, the ambience and the table by the window. Service was great. We met there today and found that they have re-branded. No more breakfast- just some pastries. The pumpkin spice latte had just a hint of nutmeg. The muffin was just like a Costco muffin. The window table was replaced with merchandise. The server was confused about the order. Nothing was wrong, per se, but it lacks the charm and deliciousness that it had. I can't say I won't be back, but I can say that it isn't our special spot anymore.

They have lots of comfy indoor seating and a small patio as well. They have a fairly in-depth selection of typical coffeeshop food -- sandwiches, bagels, muffins, etc. They have a LOT of baked goods and dessert type offerings, and a large cooler with grab and go snacks and desserts, like pasta salad, juices and other cold drinks, and even cheesecake and strawberry pretzel salad. Service was adequate - seemed a bit in a hurry to complete my order. I noticed by the time I was done collecting a straw, some napkins, etc, the barista had rejoined her friends seated on some of the couches to chat. Still, she wasn't impolite and my order was prepared quickly and correctly, so not a huge deal. I ordered a smaller sized iced latte with both peanut butter and chocolate fudge flavorings. They have a massive list of flavor shots you can add to your lattes, which was fun! Didn't see any specialty drinks of their own creation but I figured you couldn't go wrong with a peanut butter cup type of deal, thus my selection. I wasn't disappointed! It was sweet and creamy and had the right amount of ice. Honestly maybe a little low on espresso flavor (perhaps a smidge too much milk?) but I was happy overall. I also got a cookie for dessert later that evening. It looked like one of those no-bake oatmeal chocolate cookies. I enjoyed that, too. Overall, I'd definitely return for another drink if and when I find myself in the area again. This seems to be some of the only game in town for coffee, but luckily it's a solid option! Will try some strawberry pretzel salad next time, too. :)

Staff was fast and nice. I don't care if they make the greatest quesadilla of all time, if their chips and salsa aren't good, it's not a good spot. This place nailed both. They use the thicker, denser chips that I love and the salsa was perfect consistency and had a great flavor. Not too spicy, not too bland. Just right to throw back 50 chips before the food gets out. Prices were insanely cheap. 3.50 for a chicken quesadilla. Tell me the last time you got multiple entrees at a sit down spot and got out for less than 7 dollars! Quesadillas were on the smaller size but I'd gladly pay 3.50 for them. Really good amount of cheese and chicken on them and it tasted great. Good on these guys man.
