Best pizza we've had in a long time! I'm glad we decided to stop before we went into the market. Good service, old school pizza parlor feel, plenty of games for the kids. This is our new place for pizza when we come up to Shaver

I fortunately have always had a good experience with this location. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I don't usually have any problems with ordering. The pizza always comes out fresh and has a good pizza slice flop ratio lol. They do a good job with their toppings and the pizza always fills me up pretty good with its ingredients. We've either ordered or have gone to the location where it's spacious inside and has a good atmosphere for families and individuals. Thanks for your service.

Menu showing description of awesome combo. Which is what I ordered.

I called and ordered a large pizza half pepperoni and pineapple and the other half combo. I showed up to pick up my order and the lady reads the order back to me and says half pepperoni and pineapple and half sierra special. I tell her I ordered a combo. She says that is their combo. I look on the menu and it distinctly says what she gave me is the factory special not the combo which I ordered. Pretty simple fix. Own your mistake and make another pizza. Instead she argues with me. I've had several arguments with this lady before and was not about to but heads with her. Been going to pizza factory for 35 years and never had a problem until she started working there. She needs to be retrained on your guys menu and customer service practices..

Just keep getting full leafs of lettuce we have to cut up ourself.

The restaurant has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful chandeliers throughout and a gorgeous bar area that gives it an upscale feel while still being warm and inviting. Since it was Friday, I couldn't pass up the clam chowder, and it was absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken piccata with mashed potatoes, and it was cooked perfectly with incredible flavor. My daughter had the chicken Alfredo with broccoli and loved every bite. We finished the meal with the berry cobbler topped with ice cream, which was the perfect ending. Our waitress was amazing.... so kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel welcome and gave excellent recommendations. We enjoyed our experience so much that we came back the very next night! This time I had the prime rib, and it was to die for!!! perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. We couldn't leave without trying the brownie à la mode, and it was every bit as delicious as it looked. If you're looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and a beautiful atmosphere, I highly recommend Sapore de Italia. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town!

Ravioli Bolognese: The standout dish. Rich, meaty, satisfying, and exactly the kind of homemade pasta dish that makes this place worth visiting. Pepperoni Pizza: Excellent crust, good char, and crispy pepperoni cups. Simple and really well executed. This is genuinely good pizza, not just good pizza for a mountain town. Caesar: One of the more unusual Caesars I've had. It arrived with essentially whole heads of lettuce, celery, and a homemade crunchy component that reminded us of a savory funnel cake. The homemade dressing was excellent. Different, fun to share, and memorable. Pasta: This is where Vulcania really shines. Everything tastes homemade, and I'd be comfortable ordering just about any pasta on the menu. Chicken Parmesan: Pretty good overall, with a creamy, rich sauce over the top. It was a little too heavy for me, but everyone else at the table loved it. Meatball: I would skip this dish. The meatball was undercooked and felt like it was lacking a binding ingredient. One thing worth knowing is that the kitchen isn't particularly flexible about modifying dishes. That makes sense for a chef-driven restaurant, but it's worth considering if you have picky eaters or prefer lots of substitutions. Overall, Vulcania is still the best pizza and pasta we've had in Mammoth. The handmade pasta is the real draw, the pizza is excellent, and dishes like the Caesar give the menu enough personality to make it more interesting than standard Italian-American food.

I called and inquired about a few things and when we arrived, we were told a different story. Long story short, use OpenTable to make your reservations and avoid the headache. Outside Pods- If you're interested in sitting in the pods outside, it's an additional $50-100 (depending on the day) and can fit 6-8 people. We had several kids in our party and they enjoyed the novelty of it. Our waiter Cam was great and made up for the poor service with the host. He had great recommendations as all were spot on. Cam recommended "family style" as many of the entrees are large and it gives you a chance to sample everything. We started with the asparagus summer rolls and tricolore salad. Both were delicious and refreshing. For the entrees we shared the cacio e pepe, margherita pizza, orechiette nero and chicken parmesan. Again, everything was excellent. For dessert, the gelato comes with three huge scoops along with three zeppoles (Italian donuts). The food was excellent and probably one of my new favorites in Mammoth.

One thing that puzzled us a tiny bit was the "specials" appeared to be identical to menu options, but no harm, no foul. The service was very friendly, knowledgable and very well executed. It was accurate and reasonably quick. The food was outstanding. We started with very nice small dinner salads, and the garlic bread brought to the table was well done. We had Chicken Alfredo with Feta, and the Rib Eye Steak. Both were sensational (the chicken benefitted from a squeeze of lemon). The portions were large, and the preparation was perfect. The steak was exactly as ordered, and was the best steak we've had in some time. The chicken was cooked well and the pasta was perfect. The vegetables were great, seasoned and steamed, retaining a bit of crunch. Desert was an event! We had the cheesecake, which was very good, and the chocolate mocha ice cream pie. Oh, my goodness! That pie! It was at least 5" high, and covered a desert plate edge to edge, and it was a coffee and chocolate fantasy with a toffee crust! Out of this world! Simply epic. The only photo we managed was the salad. Everything else we were too busy digging in to! If you're in (or passing through) Mariposa, by all means, go! We certainly will be back.

Some random American music was playing, I think. I like that the room felt a little old and a bit dark in tone, but that there was also a decent sized window that provided some brightness to contrast it well. The service was fine, I have no complaints here. The main thing that I'm not particularly fond of based on a single visit to this restaurant is the food. To start, there are a lot of things to choose from on the menu, and you can choose what meat that you want with your pasta. I don't particularly like that kind of set up to begin with, because there's a chance that I could choose a combination where the flavors don't really complement each other. I don't want to have to be a professional chef or even need to be knowledgeable in food in order to know what tastes good on the menu. In regards to the actual food itself, I thought it was weird that my raviolis already were kind of cold when they came out. In addition to that, none of the food I received striked me as particularly bursting with flavor. The flavors felt muted and a little bit dull. It wasn't bad, I just wouldn't call it a superb fine dining experience. If I'm back in Los Banos, I would want to try this place again, but I think that I should ask the server what I should order instead of trying to craft it myself.

Needless to say we weren't the only ones waiting. With the wait aside we absolutely LOVED our mains! The Gnocchi in the pink gorgonzola sauce was amazing! The gnocchi were soft, pillowy, and cheesy. The sauce was creamy with a sweetness from the tomato sauce with a slight acidity. Highly recommended. The ravioli rustica was delicious. If a restaurant is going to add that kind of charge, it should be clearly disclosed upfront before customers order or make reservations. I understand that Mother's Day is a busy day for restaurants, but being busy does not give a business a free pass to surprise customers with excessive charges or deliver poor food and service.
