Love the vibes here--great pizza & bar spot to watch football! I love that they had a $7 Hefeweizen on tap. I also tried the $10 Limoncello, which strong & sweet, which got my friend drunk off one haha. Masterpiece pizza was super yummy and filling. Medium size comes with 8 slices that could feed 2-3ppl (4-5 if you get another dish too). Dough is thick and fluffy, and you can't go wrong with a meat combo w/ mushroom & bell peppers! Giovanni's is an absolute must every time we're in Mammoth. We ordered the cheese pizza and the chicken parm, and both were outstanding. The cheese pizza was everything it should be perfectly crispy crust, great chew, and just the right balance of sauce to cheese. Simple, classic, and done right, which is honestly harder to find than it should be. The chicken parm was next-level. Huge portion, perfectly breaded chicken, tender inside, and loaded with rich marinara and melted cheese. Comfort food at its best after a long day on the mountain. Great food, consistent quality, and exactly what you want in Mammoth, hearty, satisfying, and delicious. Service was attentive. The ambiance is really family friendly. My group ordered a ginormous pizza and some boneless wings, pretty much fed a party of 6 hungry people. The go-to dish here has definitely got to be the pizza. Very cute, family pizza joint vibes. The main reason this place gets 5 stars is customer service. Our server was super nice. We ordered a gluten free pizza with eggplant as a topping, not knowing the eggplant is fried in wheat flour. When it arrived and I asked, the server said they use the same eggplant that's used in their eggplant pasta dish (which isn't clear on the menu.) when she learned I'm gluten free, she offered unprompted to Make a second pizza free of charge with olives in place of the eggplant. We kept the original pizza as my partner had taken a slice before I realized. They made sure the pizza came out quick so I could eat at the same time as my partner. Wow! So so nice of them, was really above and beyond. The pizza itself was great! Love that they have a vegan protein option (tofu), which tasted similar to a traditional sausage. They weren't skimpy on the cheese or other toppings, and the crust was nice and crispy. We will definitely be back. Thank you to our amazing server! Giovanni's is good for crust lovers and people who like variety. They do have the traditional pizzas, but also fusion options and the ability to make your own. The wait can be long on busy ski weekends, but they do have a take out option. The prices are pretty high for pizza, but it is better than fast food pizza. read more

So a bunch of the plate was just dry penne with nothing on it. The sauce itself lacked flavor, was runny, and hardly resembled bolognese. It was terrible to be honest. Not good ! From the moment we walked in, it was not good. Almost like we were being pushed out instead of welcomed in because they had a small party in the dining room. Anyway, lady "owner" tried shoving us into the bar for open seating, instead of just letting us know there's a wait. Turns out, they seated us immediately because it wasn't a full as they thought ! In fact several tables available! But instead, we got the waitress with the piss poor attitude, not friendly. The "lasagna" was not quality...cheese was too stringy and sauce was comparable to hospital spaghetti sauce. The small pizza was just meh ! For as busy as the place was, you'd think the food was outstanding... Personally, the food is very mediocre in taste and The food quality is on the low side. The restaurant in general is a shit hole, with old ass dishes with chipped and missing paint, old pizza stands, the table Parmesan shaker melted and leaning, the benches are old and beat up, dust all along the top of their dividing wall, honestly, the more I think about it, a call to the city inspector is more in line than a yelp review. I'd only recommend this place if you are absolutely starving and there is no place else in town open ! I'm surprised this place has so many good reviews, it's obvious people have lowered their standards to what good Italian food is.
