    Boneless wings
    Michael P.

Came by here after hiking rainbow falls, and did not disappoint! Food and service was top notch! My group ordered a ginormous pizza and some boneless wings, pretty much fed a party of 6 hungry people. The go-to dish here has definitely got to be the pizza. Boneless wings were okay for what it was. Cheese and bread on the pizza tasted freshly made. Would come here again for some carb load after a long hike.

Gluten free pizza with eggplant, tofu, spinach, and vegan cheese.

Very cute, family pizza joint vibes. The main reason this place gets 5 stars is customer service. Our server was super nice. We ordered a gluten free pizza with eggplant as a topping, not knowing the eggplant is fried in wheat flour. When it arrived and I asked, the server said they use the same eggplant that's used in their eggplant pasta dish (which isn't clear on the menu.) when she learned I'm gluten free, she offered unprompted to Make a second pizza free of charge with olives in place of the eggplant. We kept the original pizza as my partner had taken a slice before I realized. They made sure the pizza came out quick so I could eat at the same time as my partner. Wow! So so nice of them, was really above and beyond. The pizza itself was great! Love that they have a vegan protein option (tofu), which tasted similar to a traditional sausage. They weren't skimpy on the cheese or other toppings, and the crust was nice and crispy. We will definitely be back. Thank you to our amazing server! Also, it gets busy so come early if you don't want to wait (though it does have a ton of seating on the inside).

this place was busy but there was self-seating in the bar/lounge in addition to restaurant seating where you wait for a host to sit you. we ordered the: - cheesy bread ($9.95): pretty average, generous amounts of stretchy cheese - pad thai chicken pizza (medium, $24.95): I didn't think the peanut sauce was prominent at all (or maybe just very unevenly distributed), which made the pizza not really taste like pad thai. having some nuts would have added a nice crunch! - bbq chicken pizza (medium, $24.95): this was pretty good, the bbq sauce was more on the sweet side than smoky side

Came here again and just as good. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread. Spaghetti very good and zesty sauce. Also had a cup of minestrone soup. Very thick and tasty. Wife had a small pepperoni pizza which was excellent. Great dine in facility with optional takeout. Brought our own wine and reasonable $12.

Service was really good. Was able to get a seat after 10 min wait and they were busy with tons of to go orders and patrons. The ambiance is ok - feels like it could be cleaner. I don't recommend the pesto pasta and shrimp scampi. The meatballs were really good. The cheesey bread was good. We loved the wings. We didn't order any pizza but that is clearly popular there. The drinks are priced really well.

Medium size pizza with vegan cheese and spicy tofu topping. Tastes like Italian ground sausage.

Vegan cheese and vegan Italian ground sausage (spicy tofu)! Woo! My pizza was amazing. Definitely will return.

Tucked into the Village right next to Gomez's Mexican Restaurant (which is no slouch itself), this place pulls off that rare trick: it actually feels like a legit Italian escape...just with better snow outside. Let's start where all good decisions begin: pizza as an appetizer. Yes, you heard that right. Their authentic pizza oven isn't just for show--it's the real deal. Thin crust, blistered just enough, and gone in about 90 seconds at our table. No regrets. The tricolore salad is a solid opener--fresh, simple, and a nice way to pretend you're pacing yourself. You're not. Because then comes the main event: Voltaggi-O's. Imagine your childhood love affair with Chef Boyardee's Spaghetti-O's...then imagine it went to culinary school, studied abroad in Naples, and came back with confidence, depth, and a killer wine list. That's this dish. It's nostalgic, elevated, and borderline dangerous in how easy it is to keep eating. And honestly? The staff might be the real MVPs. Servers and bartenders here are five-star across the board--attentive without hovering, smiling like they actually enjoy being there, and full of spot-on recommendations (which, let's be honest, we happily followed). Bottom line: If you're in Mammoth and craving Italian that goes beyond the usual ski-town fare, Vulcania is the move. Come hungry, order the pizza "appetizer" (don't overthink it), and don't you dare skip the Voltaggi-O's. You'll leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit.

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.

I read that they rest the dough for 48 hours. The tomato sauce is on the more acidic side, which I really like. For the area, I do think the pizza is pretty value for bigger groups. They have two sizes basically Large (16") and XL (20"). We usually order the supreme pizza or their version of a margherita. For a 20" Supreme, it was about $50 after tax and tip. To make it worse, he was cussing the entire time, which is completely unprofessional--especially for someone in a management role. PART 2: Received message from "Danny" "Daniel" see photo below.or text: "First you said 20 minutes then 30 which is not true I will admit I did not put the slice right away but that is because I assumed you wanted everything together which I did in fact mention to you and was not told anything and after 10 minutes came up to me to ask if you can get a free slice? And yes I did time it so that's why I'm saying I'm sorry but your attitude for 10 minutes worth of wait doesn't justify your anger" We asked to be compensated because customers who waited far less than we did were treated better. We were never asked whether we wanted our food together or separate, so please don't make that up. Even after finally receiving our food, we still had to go back up to get the drinks we ordered. Throughout the interaction, we were met with disrespect and never once received an apology for the excessive wait--only attitude. Saying "sorry we weren't up to your standards" misses the point. Basic respect and customer service are not high standards; they are the bare minimum.
