Great pizza, good deep dish. Needs more topping options.

We went to Pizza House last night and I was SO disappointed. I ordered the italian meats lasagna and my mom ordered a reuben sandwich. My lasagna has almost no flavor at all, completely bland. My moms sandwich had zero flavor as well and was super dry. My daughter got their chicken strips and I was happy to see that it was all real chicken, HUGE pieces and her potato wedges were very good. Its sad that something on the kids menu was better than both of our meals! We ordered their bread sticks as an appetizer and they were so boring. Carry out pizza places have much better bread sticks! So, needless to say, we wont be back. read more

20% of their menu is exceptional. Read: cheesey bread sticks, chicago stuffed pizza, milkshakes, long island iced teas. The other 80% overpriced and meh. Any form of fried chicken (boneless wings, chicken tenders, etc) is BAD BAD BAD. read more

My favorite delivery place in Ann Arbor. I order their Chicken Ranch Chipati whenever I get a chance. The garlic bread and Michigan Chipati are really good too. My kids love the spaghetti and meatballs and fettucini alfredo. We have never had a problem with service whether ordering out, dining-in or getting a delivery. It's a great place to visit on game day and a nice atmosphere. Their website is excellent for customizing online orders. read more

Great pizza but on the pricey side. We had their bbq chicken pizza(~$30) and a half pepp, half sausage mushroom(~$25). Great atmosphere- all U of M and very spacious. Our waitress was friendly enough. We will return upon our next visit to Ann Arbor. read more

Okay, several things here. #1, this is my favorite pizza place in Ann Arbor, hands-down. There are other great places but I like this one the best. I have been a loyal customer for them for over 2 years. That being said, I recently called and experience a troubling amount of indifference from a manager about an online delivery issue I was having. It seems one of the delivery services eatstreet.com places my home out of range of their delivery, which makes it impossible for me to order through that site. This would be fine if I were in fact out of range and Pizza House hadn't been delivering to my 'out of range address' for some time, but alas they have. The manager I spoke with seemed to think that I was just wasting my time and if I ordered through their absolutely terrible website checkout, that I would be just fine. Well, perhaps you don't know but your website has serious problems as well, that being said, it still doesn't solve my customer service issue with regard to being 'out of range' according to Eatstreet.com. So next time you want to solve a problem for a customer, Pizza House, I recommend addressing the actual problem the customer is expressing and not some other problem that you think is more important. Also, improve your website and maybe I won't need to order through delivery services. Thanks for the delicious pizza and the below-average customer service. Hope this all gets fixed soon! read more

pizza is great, tons of seating, and awesome service. but be prepared to wait, and that piping hot pizza takes a while to bake. overall, definitely worth it. a great value, and a timeless ann arbor classic. read more

I've eaten in here about three times and never been blown away. I like the big menu and the ambiance. I don't like the supposedly Chicago-style pizza - the cheese and sauce are good, but the crust is just chewy bread with no flavor. Regular pizzas are a better bet, and they're about what you would expect. Prices are almost reasonable, but probably a bit higher than they should be for the quality. Overall I have to echo others who've expressed confusion over the hype. read more

Not bad for pizza. It's a nice clean restaurant with smart decor. It's not cheap, as hardly any restaurant in downtown Ann Arbor can hardly be considered cheap. For a family of 5 we spent about $100, including tip. We had two large pizzas, garlic bread, and a bowl of pasta. They have a good menu. As with most Ann Arbor places, you have to pay for parking. It's a pain to eat out in Ann Arbor. Skip the cheesy garlic bread. It's not that good. read more

Tasty, greasy, well made comfort food. Surprisingly good sandwiches for a pizza place.

I order from Pizza House a lot for work meetings. They are ALWAYS on time with delivery, they are friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. They have a huge menu, with terrific salads, sandwiches, etc. We never order pizza, so I can't speak to that, but everything we have ordered has been reportedly delicious. I rarely order from anyone else. I highly, highly recommend them! read more

The Pizza House is by far the best place for pizza in Ann Arbor. They make probably every kind of pizza out there, so they can please everyone. The pizza is pricy, but quality is not cheap. In this case, you get what you pay for. They will also make your pizza anyway u want it. In addition, they have an eclectic menu, so if you do not have pizza lovers in your group, there are plenty of alternatives to choose from. I cannot vouch for the other offerings, since I only go for pizza. read more

This was my first time placing an order on-line with Pizza house .I read the infor for ordering like how you want your crust and what you want on it, but forgot to include the three toppings for personal pizza .The menu said 3 toppings and so on. It also states call if you wish to change the order. Realizing my mistake I called a few minutes after submitting my order. The woman who answered the phone cough in my ear then said would check to see if it was in the oven. She came back and told me it was too late and I would have accept the plain cheese pizza. I asked how can this be I just place the order. she said we're quick and the place is pack so you either cancel or take the order as is. With that being said I canceled the order and was told that they will not send out different order. wow I guess that's that no second chances, no way around it just shut up and take what you ordered or nothing .The only thing about this was I got to see that customers are not a priority especially if their busy. Especially if they have discard a 4 sliced plain cheese pizza for 8.99 plus tax and online fees. would not recommend it to my friends or family. read more

It's a little pricey but the best pizza in Ann Arbor. And the calzones are fabulous. I hate greasy pizza and Pizza House is quality food without the excess grease. I've never had the chipatis or salads but I've heard they're great. Oh, and the cinnamon breadsticks - to die for! read more

I was here with a large group. The servers were friendly. The food was good. The place is spacious, clean, and has a warm feeling to it. Without asking, the server had split our checks and took individual payments. They seem very accommodating. read more

This place is pathetic. They tried to rip off their chipati recipe from Pizza Bob's and failed, miserably. Sure, they have more varieties of the chipati but they're all terrible. The sauce does not even come close to Bob's. The pizza is not good either, just all around mediocrity at best. For a real Ann Arbor experience, and the BEST CHIPATI IN THE WORLD go to Pizza Bob's. I am a huge pizza addict and enjoy trying pizzas from all over. Pizza House has yet to disappoint. I've only been to the one in Ann Arbor but plan on trying their second location at some point. I bragged to my friends from out of state about this great pizza place, Pizza House. So when they come to visit over the Independence Day holiday, we get take out from there. Service was great, but boy was it overpriced. One of my friends ordered a 1/2 a meatball sub. It was so bad he wouldn't eat more than a bite. There was very little sauce and the meatball was sliced, so there wasn't more than a total of 1 or maybe 1 1/2 meatballs in the whole thing. The spicy Mediterranean pizza didn't have the crust they list in the menu. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't worth the $18 for a medium. read more

This is more upscale than your standard pizzeria, with more refined furnishings and menu selections. My friends and I frequent this establishment to watch away games, and this is a good choice if you want to cheer on the Maize and Blue in a dignified fashion. The lobby has a tile floor with an enormous boulder in the middle of it, which feeds into two levels of seating. The walls are decorated with antique Umich and Ann Arbor memorabilia, which provides a good backdrop to any sports event. It never gets as crowded as some of the other places (but will fill to capacity on Saturdays), with more spacious seating arrangements, and the noise level does not get very high. That's not to say there is no cheering during a good play. The staff is friendly towards guests who want to stay all night to watch, but there are not as many TVs as other places, which may mean someone gets an awkward viewing angle and a sore neck. Long booth benches provide ample opportunity to take a short nap during half time (which I have personally done a few times) in order to be refreshed for the rest of the game. The pizza is more midwestern in style, with a deeper crust and heartier toppings, it is an excellent weapon to combat a chill Ann Arbor night. Other pasta dishes are also tempting choices. Overall, it is a good choice for decent food in upscale, but still casual, setting. read more

Today was probably the last time that I will ever give Pizza House my business. Not only is the food mediocre and over priced, the majority of the staff acts incompetent and tend to racially profile my friends and I. My experience today was the last straw. My server was outrageous. When ordering, he was unengaged and made my friend and I repeat our order numerous times. While this may have been due to the noise, I noticed that he was much more engaged at all of the other tables in his section. Furthermore, he didn't allow my friend to modify her order only a couple minutes after she had ordered it, claiming that the food was "probably about to come out the oven", without even checking. Side note- the last time we came to this restaurant, my friend was dissatisfied with her order and the manager himself told her that he "..wished she would've ordered something else instead of wasting her food". To continue with our experience today, once our food came our waiter never checked on us, with the exception of him standing at the corner of our table without speaking. When my friend or I would catch his eye, he would turn and walk in the opposite direction. To top it all off, when he came to bring my bill, the total was $8.47. I paid $10.50, and waited for him to return with the change; however, when he returned he only brought change for my friend and told us to have a good night. When I went to the front and inquired about my change, he stated "It was like $2 right?" and walked away. He then proceeded to pull the money out of his wallet to give me my "change" of $2 (even though the real amount was $2.03). One would hope that the goal of any establishment is to please the customer, however Pizza House does the complete opposite. The management is poor, and consequently the service is too. read more

While the food is normally good, the prices are outrageous. Myself and 3 family members went for lunch yesterday. My mom ordered a small salad ($11) that she found a large hair in (definitely not hers.) My daughter also got a small salad ($12), that she said tasted like sand. I got nachos, not the loaded kind, just chips and cheese ($16), actually, I ordered them with chicken, but that didn't show up until half way through the meal, just a bowl of room temperature chicken. For FIVE dollars. You'd think when you forget a topping on nachos that were only ordered with 2 toppings, and the customer has to wait half way through the meal for said topping, you wouldn't charge five bucks for it. Even if we forget the cold chicken in the nachos, what about the salad with the hair?! No free dessert?! No half off lunch?! Nothin. $62 for lunch, that one person didn't even get to eat. We paid $62 for one salad, one sandwich, and chips with cheese. Oh wait, I forgot the 4 pops we got for $14. Definitely the last trip to the pizza house. read more

Sitting here eating leftover pizza from Pizza House - not because it is great, just too tired to make something. Wish I had read the reviews before going last night. The Chicago Style pizza was a major disappointment after having the real thing in Chicago. It was a very thick layer of rather flavorless bread and not nearly enough topping. The house salad was very ordinary - mostly head lettuce, a couple of slices of cucumber and onion, a couple of ho-hum cherry tomatoes, etc.- nothing original. One glass of house wine, one small pizza (with a few leaves of spinach) and two house salads added up to $32. Our waiter would come and ask the obligatory questions (how's everything, do you want dessert) but it was almost a fly-by. He barely waited for an answer and didn't make eye contact. I see no reason to go back. There are many better options in Ann Arbor for less money and several much better for that price. Very disappointing. Don't bother. read more
