The lettuce I had to remove from my salad.

Almost rotten lettuce every time I order a chef salad! This was what I had to throw away. How do I get a fresh one???

Pizza King's "breadsticks" are not even as wide as my pinky finger. Don't forget the hefty price tag, either.

Wow..... $80 gets you nothing here. The "chef" salads had very little lettuce, did not come with croutons (as advertised), the ham was only a few ounces' worth, and the dressing cups are half the size of your normal dressing cups - which they didn't even fill to the top. It was about one tablespoon. The "side" salad was literally 3 thin chops of lettuce with a slice of tomato on it. It's not even bad, this is now scam level. But the one star is mostly for the breadsticks. We got them and was like "you've got to be kidding me." What happened to the traditional, regular sized Pizza King bread sticks? These are half the length they used to be, as well as half the width. One of my breadsticks was literally the circumference of my pinky finger. This is not even 50 cents worth of bread and they're charging $7 for this. Pretty unbelievable. As far as the pizza, they didn't even take the toppings to the edges. And how hard would it have been to put on a normal amount of cheese? They gave us tons of sauce, it was swimming in it, and the cheese and meet were scarce. Come on. This is seriously bad business practice and so inconsiderate to customers. I grew up with the traditional Pizza King and they were never trying to take advantage of paying customers this bad. I don't know about other locations, but this Pendleton Pike Pizza King is a total scam. If we're paying almost $100 for one dinner, at least cut the breadsticks to the proper size. Don't come here.

I ordered online from the Pizza King website, and I clicked the link to the Fortville location, which is a far better location. I didn't see it went to this location until the order went through, but it was the first time I had gotten food at this location & I will be sure to not get food here again. Pizza was chewy and not crisp, and poorly cut so we had to rip it apart. Breadsticks were stiff and incredibly thin. I also got cookies, two of which were specifically marked "soft and chewy" and a "buffalo chip" that I assumed was supposed to be a crunchier style - they all came crunchy and subpar flavor. They did take the tomatoes off my salad as I requested tho. There are just so many good PK locations in the area, do not go to this one.

Does that look like triple pepperoni? Does this look like a pizza worth 30 bucks ? I think not!

I knew better! I should have trusted my thinking initially when I was hesitant to place an order for delivery due to the fact that I had done so before and it was the worst pizza I have had including store bought pizza's I literally have had better from Kroger freezer section! I thought it was dry and cold because of the delivery but let me just say I went against my better judgment and placed my order for carry out and wow!! Just when I thought the delivery they had done was the worst ever they manage to top that and make an even worse pie this time around plus it was 30 friggin bucks and when I questioned the bill she says that's with the coupon applied omg! NEVER AGAIN !!

I grew up in Muncie and have not had pizza king in many many years. The bf has never had pizza for some reason so it was time for him to finally try it. This pizza king did not have the phones at the tables. I was a little sad about that. We ordered the breadsticks half baked of course just like when we were kids and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. They use the crumbled sausage and pepperoni. It was just like I remembered. Delicious. He even liked it and he is a picky eater. He even said we will have to start picking up pizzas from pizza king.

It's not much to look at from the outside - in small strip mall off Fall Creek about 2 miles north of 96th, but the inside is both luxe and comfortably cozy. At just 12 tables, you get your table for the night, so there is no rush and your evening can be as long as you want to make it. They also have a gorgeous little side wine room that you can rent for parties of 6-8 for dinner. And there's a little bar area that seats maybe 4-6. We had reservations for 6pm, so there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied when we got there, but they filled throughout the night (& we left close to 8pm). Our server Shaunda was delightful, and the owner Dan came around and checked on all the tables a few times as well. We were presented with a cous cous amuse bouche, a nice refreshing bite to start the evening. Hubs had an Italian Old Fashioned and I asked our server to pair wine for me, so it was a Decoy Sauv Blanc with our first course - the mussels. We asked for extra crostinis in order to soak up more of the delicious sauce they came in. Next was the beet arugula salad, so good! For entrees, hubs had the pappardelle bolognaise and got an iced T, and I had the short ribs with risotto, paired with a glass of cab franc. Dessert was coffee (americano) for each of us, and we split the tiramisu (see all my pics). We ate and enjoyed everything! Total with tax was right at 200 before gratuity. So this is more of a splurge place for us, (of course would be less without the beverages we did) but we will be back. It was a really pleasant evening and another big win for me picking birthday places! #yum #ReviewsByRL

Once parked (plenty of parking right outside their door), walking in it is a very intimate, maybe no more than 12 tables or so. We did have reservations, I would suggest making them to be on the safe side since it is so small. As soon as we sat down, our server came right over and explained how the menu is laid out and how the courses are brought out. I will say, this is not a place to go when you are rush. It is meant to be slow, so you can settle in and enjoy your food, enjoy the company and just be in the moment. We were probably there just over 2 hours for just the two of us. Chef Dan came out many times to chat with us and really made us feel welcome. Telling us different stories, walking us through what we were eating, and just made us feel like we were special. While everything was amazing, a few standout things I would like to mention: The Mussels were amazing, such good flavor so if you are fan, make sure you order them. The caesar salad comes disassembled, and the anchovies are sold separately, (I didn't realize it when I ordered it), we ordered a few desserts and they were all amazing. Can't go wrong there.

But I'm so glad I was hungry and ordered the lasagna. It's a decent amount of food and I think it was the best Lasagna I've ever had. Seriously. Melted in my mouth and the texture and flavor was amazing. All the pasta and sauces are made in house and I could taste the difference. Delicious. My SO had been thinking about their linguine and clams and was not disappointed. There were fewer clams than the last time (granted it's been a long while now) so it's best for a lite appetite. Service was good and the owner stopped by as well ... from Italy and these are home recipes. Looks like they recently installed new carpet which was nice. Love all the framed pictures especially in the back room. This restaurant is perfect for a special occasion, or an intimate dinner, or for just when you want some authentic great Italian food.

It was hopping on a Friday night. I had been wanting to come here for a long time.. Everyone I know says this place is really good. This is a 3.5 star review. The bruschetta was 4 pieces and soggy. It was also 15 dollars. They don't serve table bread for free so I ordered some for $4 and it was about 5 1/2 slices of the same bread they used for the bruschetta. It was served with a bowl of oil with balsamic vinegar. I also asked for my pasta to be saucy and the waitress looked at me and she said, do you mean you want extra sauce? So for $2 extra I feel I got a normal amount of sauce so I'm not sure what a regular amount looks like. Unfortunately the pasta was pre-denté. Everyone else's dishes were steaming hot and the pasta was visibly able to be twirled around a fork. Mine was warm and I had to cut it with a spoon and fork just to get it separated for many bites, which were very chewy, almost hard. The ragù was fine. The atmosphere was nice for dinner. I read some other reviews and they are definitely mixed. One of my friends who had been before warned me after I was excited to initially try the cheese wheel pasta, to be careful. She said hers was wet and vodka flavored, so I didn't get it. Similar reviews said the same. I will say the calamari was some of the best I've had lately. Not chewy at all and a lovely light batter, served with tomato sauce. I did find it odd that the sauce was cold. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their meals so this gets the 3.5 stars.
