I placed an order for pick up and it was ready when I walked through the door. It's been awhile since I've been here. I wanted something on the healthier side. I ordered a couple of salads to have with our dinner tonight. I ordered the Greek Salad and the Caesar Salad. They gave us extra dressing, without me even asking, which was great. Quality and taste is consistently great with Pizza My Heart but today I had more issues with service. I ordered take out and drove over to pick it up and wasn't greeted as I stepped in. I had a confused employee looking at me who was barely able to mumble "are you picking up?" Not even a hello. I get my order and the employee walks off and didn't ask if I wanted parm and pepper so I quickly asked her for it. I get home and opened the pizza to realize there was no basil added to the pizza, something I paid extra for. It was disappointing coming from a establishment that tends to deliver and I don't wanna bring down the employees for it but a little retraining on customer service could help as well as an emphasis on attention to detail. I've gotten pizza here both slices and whole pizzas and they have always been hot cheesy and baked just as you would expect. However tonight my husband ordered a large pizza 1/2 mushroom olive and 1/2 Big Sur. He ordered directly from the restaurant when he walked in. We don't live more than 10 minutes away and when I opened the box it looked fine. However it wasn't even mildly warm and you can tell they did not keep it in the pizza oven long enough. The bottom and crust was not at all crispy and was very pale. Very disappointed and ate one slice because I was hungry but the rest will need to be actually back in our oven to have it fully cooked. And there was barely any cheese on the pizza either. Very disappointing. He said it wasn't busy at the time. read more

The 2nd one was the better of the two, however both pieces weren't heated up properly and were kinda luke warm. The cheese slice, which is the slice I use to judge a pizza, was horrible. I placed a delivery order from this location last night and it was disappointing. I had no clue that DoorDash drivers do the deliveries. They do not have the pizza warmers to put the box in, so our pizza was completely cold. We only live a few miles away, so it was a quick drive for them. Our pizza should have had some type of warmth to it. Also, Pizza My Heart puts a sticker on the box to show it's sealed shut. This sticker was dangling from the bottom side of the box and not actually sealed, so the food absolutely could have been tampered with. On the order you can also select if you want utensils, napkins, parmesan, peppers, etc...I clicked several of those options and not a single one arrived with the order. read more

I am not picky about oil and such, so I know some people might want to soak the oil up with a paper towel, or avoid such pizza. Who knew pizza places are open until 10 pm? My friend and I were craving pizza in South San Jose, and we had the opportunity to try this place. Arrived at 8:30 pm with being the only customers there, able to take our time in ordering since it was our first visit and admire the surfing decorations over the walls. What we ordered was the Doheny Sweet Heat! The honey flavor was sweet and was refreshing to try out with pizza. The puffs of ricotta were heavenly- smooth and creamy! The bell peppers were an excellent compliment to the meats of sausage and pepperoni- great combo of sweet and spicy in each bite. I didn't think we could finish the 12 inch pizza, but it was so delicious that we ate all of it. Great ambience and an overall enjoyable experience. The pizza cravings have just been waaay too real lately and today my sister made the decision to go with Pizza My Heart. Since we were ordering single slices of pie we made the decision to give them a call beforehand to see what they were offering. That gal on the phone was kind enough to take down our order and processing the sale prior to heading down to the establishment. This made for a quick in and out visit. Our order consisted of: Super Veggie Slice x2 Big Sur Slice Maui Wowie Pizza was good and toppings were plentiful, my only issue was the slice of Big Sur being overly charred on the bottom. Charred pizza isn't too big of a deal in moderation but this slice left a bitter taste that lingered. 3 stars overall but I know this Pizza My Heart is definitely capable of 4. I'd gladly make another visit. Three out of 4 slices were pretty damn good. read more

Happy National Pizza Day! I find it very fitting to write a review for their pizza today.. lol I've been to Pizza My Heart before and enjoyed it every time I go. Their slices are huge! When the late night cravings kicked in, I decided to looked up a pizza place near me that was open. Luckily, this place closes at 10pm and not 9pm. I placed an order online at 8:25pm for (2) 12" pizzas. I got the following: The Lane - pesto, sausage, & Roma tomatoes 12" $16 Depot Hill - sundries tomatoes, pesto & chicken 12" $17 Both prices are reasonably priced for the size. The estimated delivery time was 9:15pm but were at my door at 9pm! Liked how they kept me updated on the status of my order via text. Delivery fee $3; contactless payment & delivery. Got 2 small packages of cheeses and 2 crushed red peppers taped onto the pizza box + sealed for safety precaution. Pizza was nice and hot! Semi- crispy (just how I like it) and delicious :) I love pesto cheesy pizzas! Their thin pizza is soo good! My favorite of the 2 is The Lane! Today I ordered a medium Little Sur pizza from this location, and received word that DoorDash would deliver according to my detailed description of how to find my cottage (off the street behind two sets of houses). Every other time the delivery has been just fine, but this time, I received delivery notification and never saw the driver or the pizza, so I called the store. A very helpful man (wish I could have written his name down) immediately said he would get in touch with DoorDash and would call me back. A little awhile after that, my landlord and neighbor brought my pizza to my cottage, and said that, although with Contactless delivery the driver is supposed to knock on the door if it's not open (mine was), then make sure I picked up the pizza while maintaining a 6 foot distance, this did not occur. Lee H. was the name of the delivery person shown on my delivery order and I should have written down the phone number shown below his name, but I didn't think there would be any need for it. After I received the pizza (lukewarm by now, but not the fault of the restaurant), I called the store back and reached a different person, and asked them to pass the word that I did receive the pizza but not from the DD delivery person. Later I received a text from DoorDash who had forwarded my number to the delivery person (apparently), and their message said something about him having to wait at the store because there was a situation for about 10-15 minutes with a smile emoji. I texted back that they did not deliver to the correct address nor did they knock (see above). This weekend Pizza My Heart was offering free delivery, which was great but the DD delivery person got a tip for not delivering the order properly. I also noted that on the delivery confirmation DoorDash did not show my cottage address, just the landlord's address, which may have added to the confusion. I'm not sure if the driver was given the detailed description of how to find my address either. Bottom line: This is still the best Pizza My Heart location for me and I plan to continue to order from them, but may switch to GrubHub (if I have a choice). UPDATE: An hour or so later, I received a text from the restaurant and from a second DoorDash delivery person saying they were delivering a second pizza but I never saw anyone. I don't know if the landlords received that one as well, no word on that. I had called right after my landlord brought the first pizza to me that was delivered to them instead of me by Lee H, the original driver, to let them know I received the pizz,a but apparently no one passed the message on to the person I originally spoke with about the missing delivery at PMH. I'm sorry they made a second pizza and had it delivered, or at least attempted delivery, but I greatly appreciate the hard work of this location of Pizza My Heart as well as DoorDash to try to make things right. read more
