If this Pizza Joint was ANYWHERE ELSE, nobody would frequent it. Pizza Oven is strictly for people (in various states of inebriation) who want a smallish, overpriced Pizza QUICK. I sat down 3-4 seats from the register/'waitress' only to be told by the fat, bespectecled 'waitress' Samantha that I had to COME TO HER to order. LOL, so I walked 4 feet and asked for a Modelo. I got a 16 oz Modelo can for $11.32!!!!!! She ran my card and got a ZERO tip. I ordered a Pizza, and the guys that were cooking it were great. Brought my Pizza to me, asked if I wanted Parmesan/Chili flakes, gave me more than enough. They gave me all I wanted, and zipped right back to cooking Pizzas. Of course, i could not pay where I was, I had to walk the 4 feet back to fat Samantha to pay for it. I gave a $2 tip, only because of the Pizza Cookers. I was staying in Kemah Boardwalk Inn. I saw the reviews, but wanted to try anyway. Found out in this case the reviews were accurate. The food was mediocre, but both my wife and I ended up with upset stomach's. The food was prepared quickly, but was slightly burned. There was no reason for it as we were the only patrons and it was slow. The bill came out higher than we estimated and it was because of a 'to go' fee. I didn't understand why I was being charged extra for take out (I was doing the work of delivering lol). Anyway the cashier didn't know what it was for, but required. Disappointing. I won't go there again. read more

Well let's start with they were unprepared for a busy Saturday with Jingle on the boardwalk... then we ordered. We ordered 4 pizzas and a soft drink. The register lady wouldn't put a new syrup in the machine for Dr. Pepper, she just told me she didn't have time as she pointed to the never ending line... Then two of our pizzas came out and at that point we were notified that they were out of all types of pizza's except the margarita and Hawaiian so they couldn't make the other two. 20 minutes later we got the last two. In actuality, the pizzas aren't bad and the location is fantastic for the summer concert series. But the issue is management and how they were so unprepared for the summer concerts and how many customers it could potentially bring. They had 1 cashier, who also doubled as a drink filler, who also doubled as the person to call out when orders are done and to hand out/box pizzas to customers. While we were standing in line, there was 1 person behind the counter making pizzas and I definitely felt sorry for the person. There was a line to the door and they were so backed up... Whoever is in charge of staffing this place needs to maybe think twice about how many employees they need to efficiently run an establishment. We waited in line for probably close to 40 minutes - the guy taking orders and ringing people up was slow slow slow.. I think he took one order and went back to box/hand out pizzas and then come back to take the next order. It continued this way all night... We finally got to order and at least got a few beers while we waited. At this point the concert had started at around 8:40pm... we got to enjoy the concert and when we came back about an hour later, we had to sit down and wait cause our pizzas were STILL not done yet.. WTF?! How long does it take to make a pizza and then put it in a wood-fire oven?! I mean.. doesn't it take like 4-6 minutes to cook a pizza in a wood-fire oven?! We finally got our pizzas - the Kemah bomb and the hawaiian... loaded with toppings, small personalized pizza - partly burnt crust. But whatever, we waited so long and we were hungry! Oddly, the pizza wasn't hot - again, WTF?! We just watched it come out of the wood-fire oven! Maybe the oven wasn't hot enough and that's why it was taking so long to cook the pizzas?! But seriously... this wasn't the first summer concert event of the season and definitely not the last. You would think they'd know to to properly run this place by now... The pizzas itself weren't bad, but they definitely weren't great. They weren't hot, like I said before, the crust were kinda burnt on one of them.. The toppings were ok but the bomb did not have much flavor to it, surprising considering it had the most toppings on it! We saw so many people complain, and after waiting for over an hour request their money back.. I was tempted to tell people to not order cause they didn't know what they were getting themselves into. The staff were not prepared and could not handle the business. I think at this point, they should've probably turned away new customers or tell them that the wait would be over an hour after ordering. I mean, I even asked how long the wait for the pizzas would take and he just said he didn't know.. Ummm.. NEXT! Go somewhere else! The pizza was 10 inches and cut into 8 slices that were fluffy enough to give you the soft bed of dough sauce and cheese but thin enough to hold a nice crispy on the bottom and compliment it with a bite. The sausage and peppers pizza was delicious. Exceeded my expectations . The toppings were placed on there generously as well which added to the rating and taste especially. One of the few at Kemah to get a quality meal for a reasonable price. This little gem is tucked away in Kemah, and unless you're patient, you might miss it. They have a wide variety of pizzas, and they all come out piping hot with fresh ingredients. I loved the Hawaiian, and it was big enough to share with a friend. I just wish there could have been a little more sauce ( I didn't notice it at first). Regardless, this is a solid pizza joint, and for $12, no other restaurant on the boardwalk compares. read more

Don't use your debit/credit card here. I went in Saturday and my order was $15.14. When I checked my account when I got home, I saw that I was overcharged. I called them on Sunday to let them know what happened. The guy on the phone ask me to hold and I can hear him say "hey, so and so, there's someone on the phone about an overage or whatever." OR WHATEVER! Then he had the nerve to ask me to call back because they were super slammed. My card was overcharged and instead of them taking care of the problem then, they wanted to put me off. That is TERRIBLE customer service. I never called back, I just ended up disputing the charge with my bank. These people here are trash. read more

I just checked my bank account and they charged me $22, so I believe they wrote a tip on there. I don't have any proof because I didn't keep my receipt. We wandered into this place when visiting Kemah Boardwalk for the Rock the Dock live bands on Thursday. It has a few seats outside on the balcony overlooking the water play area/ stage and more seating/ bar seating inside. It is very colorful inside the restaurant and the menu is a huge sign on the wall. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. New girl was taking orders, but she was moving right along. this is a Landry's restaurant, so if you have the Landry's card, be sure to get your points! All the pizzas are 10 inch rounds on thin crust and baked in a stone oven. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza that had canadian bacon, smoked bacon, and pineapple, which was around $12. The crust is thin and a bit sweet, and the toppings were just right. We had fountain drinks, but they do offer a few types of beer on tap as well as wine. They also offer a wide variety of sandwiches and salads. They have a whole slew of specialty pizzas, but you can order just the toppings you want. The service was pretty good, and the pizza tasted terrific. We will go back when pizza cravings hit. read more

So pleased to have come across this place at Kemah. This is probably one of the most reasonably priced places here because everything at Kemah adds up (lots of other reviews talk of it being pricey but compared to the other choices you have available, this is reasonable)! You can get several types of 10 inch pizzas (8 slices) for around $12.99. You can also do an individual pizza (4 slices) for $6.99. This versus one slice of greasy pizza on the boardwalk for $6.50!!! We ordered the four cheese, pepperoni and margherita for 4 adults and 4 kids. It was plenty. They were very generous with the toppings and the ingredients were fresh - tons of tomatoes and fresh basil on the margherita and the four types of cheeses on the cheese pizza definitely elevated it to gourmet status. The crust was crispy and topped with fresh parmesan cheese. The service was quick and friendly. read more

I think it's a little pricey for a small pizza meal but it's still the most affordable option in terms of food here on the board walk to feed two people.
