Pizza Project was excellent - I want to try again with a slice fresh out of the oven. We ordered a half vodka, half pepperoni/ricotta pie that may have sat for a while in the car ride back home. It was still delicious, though. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, from the bright notes in the sauce to the generous toppings, and they do a unique sesame seed-coated crust. As other reviewers have mentioned, though, the prices are a little higher than others in the area. Our 16 inch pie totaled around $30, while our neighborhood pizza haunt (Max and Leo's) is around $20-25. They mostly do a bustling pick-up business, with some seats along the wall if you prefer to eat there. There's a dedicated parking lot for the Speedway. When the weather's a lot nicer (i.e., not a freezing tundra that makes me question my choice to live in Boston), I'd come back to get a drink at Notch Brewery a few steps away and then grab a slice here.

This is the spot. You haveeee to get the pepperoni & hot honey pizza. It's so so good. Plus, it's so fun to grab a pizza, sit out on the bench tables and chairs and hangout, grab a drink from Notch, visit the other boutique shops around, bring a deck of cards, etc.

Love what they're doing here. The pizza is really good. Fresh ingredients. I was impressed with the pizza! Service was the only thing I would change. I ordered a slice and paid. I sat outside to wait, so I wouldn't get in the way of other customers coming in and out. I came back in after 10 minutes, thinking it wouldn't take that long to heat up a slice. And.. oops... they forgot about me. So they put a slice in the oven and at this point I stood at the counter and waited. That's what I get for trying to be helpful and waiting outside. lol. The place wasn't even that busy with customers that you could see them forgetting about me. So yeah, my tip is to not wait outside and make sure they see you standing there so they don't forget about you. I will return and hopefully service is on point. It's really take out only, so you're not dealing with table service or anything. The location is great for outdoor eating and you can get beer at the brewery next to it. The Speedway is a very cool place and having this pizza there really completes the experience.

Been meaning to try this place out for a while now was in the area over the weekend and finally decided to stop in for couple of slices. Staff were very friendly, they recommended the two signature slices the vodka and the pepperoni. Both were delicious and light, crust also was nice and crunchy. Also would recommend side of ranch dressing to dip the slices if you're into that. Would definitely come back here to eat a quick slice or order takeout.

Well this place is getting alot of hype- and it's worth it! It's got a nice toasty firm crust, thin and a bit of crisp. I've enjoyed some slices and beer when hanging out at the Speedway on a nice day and ordered in a full pie recently on a cold dismal day.... I love that they do half/half with full pies! They have a well thought out balance of fresh pizza toppings and pretty gourmet flavors. The Caesar Salad was also awesome. Vodka slice was a standout for me and the fresh whole pie Mushroom/Pepperoni so good. The house dressings (mild herby ranch, Caesar) are a perfect pair for salad and the Za. It's basically takeout since the shop itself is a counter, but that works great when it's nice out to chill at the Speedway patio. With counter service I have gotten a bit of the Gen Z stare- but not bad. Great quality, great vibe, and yummy- check it out!

My partner and I shared a cheese pizza, potato pizza (special), and slice of vodka pizza w sesame crust - TASTE: 5/5 - pizza doesn't usually wow me, but these did. Loved everything about the potato pizza: charred leek cream, savory potatoes, a fontina and house cheese blend, and rosemary -- excellent. The vodka was also simple & satisfying w its tomato sauce and pork fat, and can't believe I never had a sesame crust before: so good! TEXTURE: 4/5 - thin dough and chewy crust PRICE: 3/5 - more expensive here w the pizzas ranging from $24-28 (vs our other fave pizza spots ranging from $19-24). Still worth the price though SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - 16" pizzas and we took home leftovers SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 4:45pm on a Sunday and a few folks were seated at the counter. Placed our order and it was ready 15min later. Staff was friendly! ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - Pizza Project itself is a very small space w only 6 seats at the counter inside, though there are more tables & bathrooms outside in The Speedway's shared space. Enjoyed Paramore and other 2000s rock music on the playlist PARKING: 5/5 - dedicated parking lot for The Speedway

Holy moly... this is really good pizza. I ordered the cheese pizza for carryout. Service was friendly. There is not a lot of seating room inside, a few barstools. My advice: try this pizza.

Pizza very good A bit pricey Had a slice of vodka cheese, and a pepperoni hot honey Both slices excellent,,nice crust the sesame seeds on the vodka slice really added taste to the pizza ...

Amazing pizza! We ordered a plain with pepperoni and a white pizza. They were both delicious. Definitely one of the best pizzas ever! We were lucky enough to snag two seats at the counter, so we were able to enjoy them hot out of the oven. We were surprised what a generous size the pizzas are. Our interaction with the staff was the frosting on the cake. All in all a 10/10. We will be back sometime when the brewery Notch might be quieter so we can enjoy a beer with the pizza. Thank you!

Hidden gem. So glad this place opened. Boston needed this.

Amazing pizza, awesome service. Staff is friendly, kitchen pumps out pizza fast! I can't wait to try all the slices. Homemade ranch is A+.

There was a short wait since they bake the cheesecakes fresh in batches, but it moved pretty quickly. The Original Japanese Cheesecake was warm, soft, and definitely lived up to its signature "jiggle." It's very different from a traditional cheesecake--much lighter, fluffier, and less sweet, almost like a cross between a soufflé and a sponge cake. If you're expecting a rich New York-style cheesecake, this isn't that. Personally, I enjoyed how light it was, and it didn't leave me feeling overly full. The staff was friendly, and the shop was clean and well organized. My only suggestion would be to have a few more seating options since it's mostly grab-and-go. Overall, it's worth checking out if you're in downtown Boston or curious about Japanese-style cheesecake. I'd come back again and would like to try some of their other pastries next time.

I ordered an Ube cheesecake and repeated my order as it seemed there might have been some miscommunication. I was in a bit of a rush due to limited parking and unfortunately didn't check my bag before leaving. When I got home, I realized I had been given a different cheesecake than what I ordered. I decided to keep it rather than return, as going back to Chinatown wasn't convenient at the time. The cheesecake itself was also disappointing in texture and freshness--it felt quite soggy and not as fresh as expected. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations, and I don't think I would return.

Portuguese Egg Tart葡撻: The shop keeps the egg tarts in a warming box, which is very thoughtful. I've always preferred the cookie crust of old-fashioned Hongkongese egg tarts; they don't crumble or feel sticky in your throat. The custard filling looked a bit overbaked on the surface, but it was still smooth and creamy inside. The milk and egg flavors were qualified, and it was not too sweet. While not particularly amazing, it definitely deserved 4 stars, especially for a Cantonese person like me who hasn't had egg tarts in a long time. Hongkongese Egg Tart蛋撻: The crust is the same as the Portuguese egg tart, but the custard filling seems a bit more diluted, with a lighter milk flavor and a stronger egg flavor. People who aren't used to it might find it a bit eggy. I still prefer the former. Custard Bread奶黃包: Recommended by the owner, and it was definitely the best thing there! I ate it the next morning, but the bread was still soft, and the crust wasn't dry. The custard filling was generous, sweet, creamy, moist, and had a slightly grainy texture. Sausage Bread腸仔包: The seasoning was quite interesting, with a hint of wasabi (?). However, the sausage itself was just average, with a slightly starchy texture. Breads generally cost $2-4 each, and here four items were only $8+, enough to last me all day Important Reminder: Cash only for orders of $10 or less.

I am always surprised at how full I am when I leave! I'm stuffed every time. There is complementary miso soup with all of the bowls I've tried, outlined below. I really loved all of the bowls I've tried but my favorites are probably the Sake Aisuru Don and Kuromon Don. I just prefer more salmon to more tuna though, and they're all very good! Food: - Sake Aisuru Don: their classic all-salmon bowl! I loved the larger cuts of salmon, and I was pleasantly surprised that even the more pulverized salmon was flavorful! - Kuromon Don: loved the yellowtail in this! Each fish comes with two pieces (except the mackerel for which there are four), and I liked the sampler style for the salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and izumidai. - Maguro Toro Don: so much tuna! And all such high quality. The otoro was so fatty that it practically melted in my mouth without chewing. - Sake Maguro Hamachi Don: a mix of salmon, blue fin tuna, and yellowtail. I liked the yellowtail in this a lot and found that it stood out the most from the other two fish in this particular bowl!
