Some time back I bought a coupon book from the local high school that had coupons for Pizza Schmizza. I didn't get a chance to use one until yesterday. I called in for two take out pizzas. I ordered from their menu, and told the clerk on the phone that i had a coupon for "buy one 18" pizza and get a 14" pizza free. I was told that the total bill after deducting the coupon would be $23. When I sent my son to pick the pizza's up the clerk claimed that the coupon was only good for a one topping pizza for the free one, so he owed an additional $8. Nothing on the coupon states anything about a one topping pizza. Poor business practice, they just made a bad reference. Then there is the quality of the pizza. The "Greek Veggie" pizza was "OK" according to my wife-that's her style of pizza. The "Don Ho" pizza (classic pineapple and canadian bacon) was very poor. The entire pizza was under cooked. There was no crunch to the soggy crust. The pineapple on the pizza was canned pineapple rings thrown on after the pizza was cooked, which further added to the soggy mouthfeel of the pie. Not likely that I will return to Pizza Schmizza-there are lots of better quality pizzas around, and the business practices are not something that I want to support. read more

As the previous reviews have stated, service here is lacking. The food and drink quality is also lacking - mostly due to an uncaring staff. The one mixed drink we ordered was a mojito. First it arrived with no mint. Second try, the mint was diced into tiny pieces and floating on top. (Really?) The waitress/bartender said they use dried mint. The manager (I think she was the mgr? Didn't introduce herself) showed us a healthy bag of fresh mint and said they use fresh, and muddle it within the drink. Neither of these statements could be true about the same beverage, so obviously the manager has no clue what is going on. The food was ok. We got our own soda refills - there was very little contact from the waitress. Ordered two medium pizzas, mojito, and soda. Billed for 2 large pizzas, no mojito, no soda (really?). A completely different bartender fixed the issue by calculating the correct price and placing a discount to make the receipt show the "corrected" total. I wonder if they are doing some odd accounting practices? It must be common, the guy didn't even ask what happened- just went to work on the math! read more

This is the third try to get good service. We will not be back. At 5:45 ordered 2 salads and tater tots. We received 1 salad 30 minutes later and still waiting on 2nd salad and tots. When we walked in saw the owners was here and thought there would be good service. Still Very poor service and won't come back. read more

I'm sitting on my sofa tonight. I just left the place and am having a much better evening at home. Although there are 11 guitars adorning the walls it seems that rock is dead at pizza shmizza. My lovely wife dropped some coin in the juke box and halfway through the second song someone turned down the volume which turned my wife and I off to the idea to stay for more drinks and fun. Too bad the employees are annoyed by upbeat music and would prefer to hear the low murmer of the "crowd" while tapping their thumbs on their cell phones at the bar. I went on a Friday night with my friend.I love Pizza Schmizza!! we got the Margarita Pizza a couple of margaritas and watched several people do karaoke. The service was excellent, but the food is just fair and a little pricey for what you get. I have eaten here and at other pizza Schmizza's throughout Oregon and its just not my favorite pizza. Its bready, too thick, too cheesy and lacks any distinct flavor. Like some bread with a bunch of cheese and some toppings, but not necessarily pizza. Some people may like that, but its not for me. I ordered some bread that came with Alfredo sauce. It was just okay, bread had nothing on it and you get a tiny little side of sauce for 5 large pieces of bread. If your want more sauce you have pay for more. The pasta was flavorful, but very small, oily and could have been better in terms of taste. read more

The service is great and I couldn't be happier with how the food taste. Their wings are definitely the best in town and the pizza is top-5. I like that they have a bar inside as well. Although the pizza was average, but not yo expensive. The beer was cold and delicious. A yummy ashland amber. The atmosphere was relaxing. Happy hour so beers were a dollar less. Today was our 1st and last visit to this place. From the time we walked through the door until we got our check was 2 hours. Our 1st pizza arrived after an hour and the 2nd and 3rd pizzas arrived about 20 minutes later. Half our party was finished before the others even received their food. The service is mediocre at best. The food is fine for what it is. Don't expect anything but lazy, sullen and slow service.

The only thing good here was the beer. Burger was a freezer burnt processed patty that smelled and tasted terrible, absolutely disgusting. Wings had flavor but there were small pieces of "other" stuff from the fryer in the basket.....burnt little pieces of I don't know what. Our bill was $60 and an absolute waste of money. read more

To be clear, I have had pizza at Pizza Schmizza in Portland many times and it has been great. This is a huge departure from what I have been use to. This restaurant is poorly managed, and every employee that we encountered was rude and unaccommodating. It was so bad we had to get up and leave after 45 minutes of back and forth with the staff. I have been here 4 times and every time Stephen (Steve) has been absolutely amazing. He is very pleasant, very helpful and really seems to like his job. I ate there a couple days ago, I ordered the Philly sandwich, and bread sticks.. The bread sticks were dry, and lacking some flavor... They would be much better as garlic bread sticks or at least buttered.. The dipping sauce made them edible... I wouldn't order them again... I asked prior to me ordering the sandwich if it had any condiments on it, or if the bread was buttered, the waitress said it wasn't... Sure enough, it was.. I know that's a small thing, but still the staff should know.. Also, with the veggie pizza I was misinformed about the sauce that's on it too.. Little things like those add up, and if there's too many mistakes, turns people off from eating there.. It does me, for sure.... Back to my sandwich, it had good flavor, but was soggy on the bottom, and honestly I could of made this at home better.... I got tots with it, and I mostly ate those...On a positive, the place was clean, and the waitress was friendly, although she seemed to be fishing for compliments about the food, which gave me the sense maybe they haven't been getting much business. The server never refilled our drinks, the appetizer came after the meal, and the communication between the server and the chef must be terrible because my order was completely messed up. Service was a 5 star. Food was as expected. They could do soooo much more to increase their traffic with ambiance. Put chandelier shades on the lighting, dim them and lower them if possible and put candles (battery) on all the tables. Guaranteed crowd pleaser and will draw the folks in. Put a cool chandelier in their video poker area with cool beaded lamp shades and it will be a winner. Travel for business here a bunch.... Would like to see those changes. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for several years and it seems to be going down hill... the bathrooms are always disgusting no matter what time of the day/night and the service staff are usually preoccupied. Today (Sunday at noon) we went in for a simple beer and possibly some fries, however upon seeing the condition of the restaurant we decided against eating anything. The restaurant looked like a large hangover; crayons, food, garbage etc all over the floor, clearly indicated nothing had been cleaned from the night prior, I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like! The bathrooms smelled like urine and there was "something" on the toilet seats. The single female employee was attentive however she sat at the bar and ate and drank during her down time rather than cleaning. Hopefully this place makes a change because its super cool, but we will not be returning for some time.... read more
