**Kiva Made a Bucket-List Dinner Extra Special!** We visited The Old Spaghetti Factory in Medford on July 27, and while we have always had great food and service here, Kiva turned this visit into something truly fantastic and memorable! Stopping at OSF was actually a bucket-list item for my oldest daughter during her summer vacation, so this dinner was already something she had been looking forward to. Kiva didn't know our goal for the afternoon, she was just doing what came natural, making it surely live up to the excitement! She was incredibly friendly, personable, wonderful with our girls, and genuinely seemed to care that everyone at our table got exactly what they wanted. We asked for a few extras along the way, and she never batted an eye--she was heartwarmingly kind, accommodating, and happy to help. And the food was AMAZING, as always! Our table gobbled up shrimp with fettuccine, ravioli with meat sauce, chicken piccata, angel hair pasta with browned butter and mizithra, and a large side of broccoli. Of course, we had to finish with dessert--vanilla ice cream, spumoni, and POG sherbet, one of each! Everything was delicious, but Kiva is what took our typically great OSF experience and made it a special memory from our trip. She helped make our girls happy, made us feel completely welcome, and added that extra bit of warmth that you remember long after dinner is over. We're travelers when we come through Medford, but we make a point to stop at The Old Spaghetti Factory--and after this visit, we'll certainly continue to do so. If you're traveling through the area, I absolutely encourage you to make it a stop. And if you're lucky enough to have Kiva taking care of your table, you're in wonderful hands! our experience tonight 8/16 was honestly awful. after we were seated, it took quite a while for our server to even come over to the table. when she finally did, we were only able to order our drinks and appetizers, despite already having been seated for a significant amount of time. once we were finally able to order our entrees, the wait was unbelievably long. we were there for almost two hours total, and approximately an hour and 45 minutes of that was spent waiting for our food. we also had two small children with us, and one of them became extremely antsy and cranky because he was so hungry. when you have small children at the table, that should be taken into consideration, especially when the wait for food is already excessively long. what made the experience even more frustrating was that no manager ever came by to check on us or address the situation. someone did come nearby and identify herself as a manager, but she only stopped at the other two tables nearby and never came to our table. overall, the service was extremely slow, communication was lacking, and nobody seemed to care that we had been waiting so long. unfortunately, this was such a poor experience that we will not be returning. read more

Celebrated our drive to Medford here with happy hour. The OSF is in an old train depot and it is filled with memories and old train stuff. Unfortunately, this location doesn't have any happy hour specials, but their house wine and appetizers are reasonably priced. It's worth a stop to see the depot. Gotta love Medford! read more

This place was great, food was delicious nice size portions, 3 course meal. Took a party of 12 and the service was flawless. Waiter allowed time for us to get settled in. Didn't rush us, and then our food came out quickly. All in all a great place. And by the way the Spimoni was fantastic. read more

Purpose of visit: The clam sauce and the mizithra cheese The clam sauce is like clam chowder without the potatoes, plenty of clam flavor. We buy it by the quart ($14 by itself). The mizithra cheese is a uniquely salted aged cheese that turns plain pasta and steamed broccoli into a family favorite dish. The spaghetti factory consistently has both! This location is consistently under staffed. Doesn't matter if you come on a Saturday or a Tuesday, the service is slow due to being understaffed. Makes paying $20 for plain pasta with grated cheese an insult. WinCo had Mizithra cheese once sometime earlier this year. I'm keepingy eyes peeled. The service was terrible, because the servers were way UNDER STAFFED. I actually started checking Pinterest for a copycat clam sauce recipe to save myself the hassle of coming here. I like the idea of the Old Spaghetti Factory, but when iceburg lettuce salad + pasta/cheese + steamed broccoli (never came) takes +2hrs and $25 per person... it's prob not worth the wait. Based on prior reviews, I gathered there were some inconsistencies with this restaurant so I selected OSF with uncertainty. We arrived right at 5pm without reservations. The crowd was mostly older along with some younger families. We had to wait 10-15 minutes so we made our way to the bar, which was comply empty. The bartender was great! He was friendly and attentive in just the right amount to afford privacy but excellent service. I read about the history of the restaurant from some other posts so he helpfully filled in some gaps. The bar is beautiful! We were seated by a pleasant young host and then quickly greeted by a very friendly server who immediately made us comfortable. He did a great job throughout the meal, even with the volume of tables he served simultaneously. We ordered items that others had raved about: the mushroom ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs along with the Sicilian cheese garlic bread. We opted to upgrade our 3-course experience to include the Caesar salad. Our food arrived promptly each time we were ready to move to the next course and everything was well proportioned and delicious. For dessert, they served us sherbet, which was refreshing on a hot June evening. Note that OSF is a traditional restaurant that does basic American- Italian well. It's worth a visit but I do recommend that you make reservations and arrive with some patience. But, if you have to wait, have a drink at the bar and learn some history from the bartender. read more

Food poisoning on April 23, 2026. My wife and I have eaten here at least a dozen times in the past year. Always good food and great service. We've also been to other locations. However, on our last visit to this location we noticed that our salads were drenched in dressing, an unusual amount. My guess is that it was to hide the not so desirable pieces of lettuce which were small and slightly discolored. Much of the pieces of lettuce were small, as if it were the bottom of the batch. My wife and I had different meals but both had salads. Nothing tasted off but it was mostly dressing so we didn't notice...until 2am when both of us came down with food poisoning symptoms. We had not eaten anything after our dining experience. Neither of us could go to work the next day and we were still feeling it two days later. I contacted the manager and after a prompt reply, she assured me that they practice safe food handling, hoped that we would feel better, and that she would look into it. I also contacted the corporate office on 4-26-26 but have not gotten a reply. I don't think our poisoning was intentional. Probably a prep person that was trying to make our salads look better by hiding aged lettuce. What that person did was hide the bacteria instead of throwing it out. It will be difficult for us to return to this location as we have lost all trust in the safety of the guests. read more

I love italian food so 'Porters' becoming an italian restaurant was something I looked forward to. I decided to have my birthday dinner there a couple weeks ago. My spaghetti was fine but the meatballs, although large, were not exactly delectable. They were tough to cut into and lacked flavor I was expecting. My wife ordered lasagna which was worse! She ate very little of it and boxed up the majority of it along with one of the two meatballs I couldn't digest that night. I, later, ate the leftovers and my wife was right....The lasagna tasted as though there was no noodle in it, had no texture like a decent lasagna should & was just dissapointing. 17 of us went to The Old Spaghetti Factory for drinks at 5PM and dinner at 6PM. Of course, we had reservations. First of all, the place is beautiful. Formerly, it was known as Porter's at the Depot and was considered a wonderful place to eat for special occasions albeit was quite expensive depending on what you ordered. They went out of business a few years ago and in the past year.The Old Spaghetti Factory moved in. For 17 of us, there was only one server and she did her utmost with grace, but that's a lot of people. It appeared that she was helping the entire bar, not just us which was filled up. She may have been doing the other dining room rooms as well. We were there three hours from 5 PM to 8 PM which is quite a long time. After about two hours everyone received their entrées -- except me. I had ordered a BLT salad. I brought my own orange tomatoes and chopped red onions, so I asked that the red tomatoes plus croutons be omitted from my salad. When it finally came after most of my fellow diners had come very close to finishing their entrées, it had almost NO bacon, NO blue cheese, some avocado -- and a whole lot of Romaine lettuce for $17.95. That was a pretty boring salad. Fortunately, I brought my own orange tomatoes and red onions, which jazzed it up a bit, but not enough. The point of a BLT is the BACON. Perhaps there was the equivalent of one slice of crumbled, bacon, but I doubt it. My husband said his Fettuccine Alfredo was boring without enough sauce. We don't think we will be returning to this place. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one was the valiant service that our server provided under extremely difficult circumstances. Founded in 1969 by Guss and Sally Dussin, this iconic restaurant is still family owned and operated. Their first location was in Portland and now they have opened this new restaurant in Medford. They have many other locations and I used to frequent the one in San Diego. Now that I live in Southern Oregon, it's like having an old friend back in town. Last night we went in and dined for their soft opening and it felt like home. It's in the old train station where Porter's used to be. The service was fast and friendly with all of the food coming out hot and delicious as always! I had to have my "go-to" Spaghetti and Meat Sauce with two big meatballs and my wife had their Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with a side of Minestrone soup to share. We truly enjoyed everything about our dining at the Spaghetti Old Factory. The environment in the old train car was fabulous. Our server was excellent, and we loved, as we always do, our Manager's Favorite of Mizythra cheese and clam sauce. First impression walking in, it smells. The building is old so possibly that is why. The furnishings are lovely. The food is overpriced. We went at lunch time. First time there. The cheese bread is just Walmarts bread with cheese on it. The soup was cold and definitely not minestrone, weird flavor. Will never need to return here. Our group of 6 went in last night for their Monday special. The place was packed! Kiva, our server, was a true rock star. She informed us that they were short two servers and a bus person. In spite of that, she catered to our needs with a smile and grace. Admittedly, some in our party got pretty demanding and Kiva continued to serve our group with an efficiency and a smile. Love love love the patio and the bar. We took over a big space today and we were a lot to handle. The servers did a good job, the little blond one was hustling and helping all over and the guy was friendly too. the manager made great drinks. Our food took a few extra minutes then normal to come out but we expected the wait being last minute like we were. Great prices on drinks and food. We got to learn some history on the building and the business. The manager encouraged us to check out other locations as we traveled telling us a little bit about the different things at different locations. The bread was so good I couldn't stop eating it. I have loved The Old Spaghetti Factory since 1970 when we ate there in Portland, Oregon!!! It is a place where I get the mizithra cheese and browned butter spaghetti and it reminds me of days long ago. My husband likes the manager's special where he gets to choose two different toppings on his noodles. The bread is always nice and warm and the salads are delightful. Wonderful service, tasty food, great looking restaurant! We had an amazing waiter who accommodated our requests for our two boys. The food was very tasty (though I would've preferred my chicken parm a little more browned) and service was super amazing! This is a great new location. The inside seems much smaller than our Seattle area location, but the restaurant definitely lived up to the Old Spaghetti Factory name! I was a bit hesitant since review ratings were low, but this is a brand new location, so there aren't many reviews yet. Do yourself a favor and stop on it! Go for the creamy pesto dressing and pasta but stay for the spumoni ice cream!! (I did take a few pics, but only of my kids eating their tropical sorbet, so I won't include those!) read more

Our original server never came back, even the manager walked by our table ten times and never made any kind of eye contact- she just kept walking past. The delivery driver ask if I placed 2 orders. I said "one order with the 2 entries". I ordered mizithra pasta and gluten free mizithra pasta. I received 2 mushy pastas with meat sauce. I called and talked to the manager Nathan and he had to find another driver. They can't reimburse my payment so I have to cancel through my credit card. WORST service and no respect from the manager. Had reservations, and still waited for 30min to be sat at a high top in the bar(could had/should had asked if we had preferences. Thumbs Down) the tables seem on top of each other were we sat there was way to much traffic. Side dishes came before entrees and or salads. Server was MIA and AVOIDING the table (Thumbs Down) When entrees was delivered the ORIGINAL dinner entrees was severed to us. Food was had been sitting in hot window. Sad thing is that since our server was MIA and avoiding us we had to settled for the dinner there was NEVER a 2 bite check back (Thumbs Down) Management did make it up after they noticed the dissatisfaction on our faces and the 3hrs we were there. Not once did our server apologized or accepted any responsibility. What was really annoying was the AWEFUL service in the bar. We were unlucky to have the only bartender be our server. The place was really hopping! We had a small wait past our reservation time. We had Calamari appetizer and I had Roasted Mushroom Ravioli and my husband had Clams in white sauce.
