Our waitress emerged like a stranger in the night with our garlic bread and we knew the best was yet to come! The pizza was SOOOOO good i knew it had to be witchcraft. I was honestly shocked at how rude the waitress was to my family. From the moment we walked in, she was rude to us for no reason. She barked orders to us, acted annoyed to take our order, and was short with us. I chalked It up to she was having a bad day. But nope, the woman who checked us out was equally rude and miserable. My waitress was great. Food was great. But when I checked out I asked for a receipt (so I can see exactly what I was paying for) because I never got one. The white heavier set lady with glasses printed it out and said not all waiters print it out. I gave it back to her with my signed charge receipt and as I'm walking away she said "that was a waste of paper". I said excuse me, she didn't think I heard her. Most people want to know exactly what we are paying for. Waste of paper or not. How do I know if I was charged correctly or for something I didn't pay for. Rude!! read more

I like Pizza Shoppe for when I feel like pizza but don't want to feel heavy afterwards. I grabbed a to-go order and it was exactly as I expected. They seem to stay pretty steady but were quickly able to fulfill my order accurately. I love the house salad. Maybe more than the pizza. It's a super simple salad of iceberg, mozzarella, bacon bits, and pepperoni. I love the pink stuff dressing. It's a garlicky concoction that I never skip. You can buy it at the grocery store but it's especially good on their salad. The pizza is always nice and light. The crust is certainly unique. It's got a cracker like texture that is light and crispy while still being sturdy enough to hold toppings. It's never greasy and I never feel overly heavy after eating it. They have specialty pizzas or you can make your own. The prices are pretty average. They also have sandwiches and pasta options if pizza isn't your thing. read more

We stopped in for dinner and it was empty. The server came over immediately and we ordered and the food came out in a reasonable time. My husband ordered the Queen Roundtable and a side salad and I ordered the gluten free one topping pizza. My husband's salad was good and his pizza was just okay. There is something up with the cheese, as soon as we both started chewing it turns into a rubbery blob. My 8" gluten free crust pizza was terrible. The crust is terrible and the cheese is rubbery and it's tiny for the price. The bathroom was clean but the main light was out so they had a bulb with a cord attached to the wall for the light and it was so dark in the bathroom. Best pizza on the planet IMHO MY GO TO place to eat food & feel at home. Best waitresses on the planet. The place is so chill, that crappy customers would stand out like a sore thumb, so I'm not surprised by a couple bad reviews. Pizza Shoppe is a pretty basic pizza spot. I like the lunch special - this comes with a personal pan pizza, a salad and a drink. The salad does come with the pink stuff sauce, which is fun. When I come here for lunch I never have to wait long to order or for the food to come. Service is always great and I always enjoy stopping in. read more

We had lunch today at pizza shoppe. What an awful experience! The waitress got my order wrong. The owner came out with the wrong size and olives on the pizza. She said she could take the olives off. (No, it would taste like black olives) told me I needed to make sure that she got my order correct. She said it wasn't on her pad. Well, guess what she did not have a pad!! Why don't you have the wait staff repeat the order? I didn't get an "I'm sorry. We asked for tea to go, and the waitress brings cups. Several occasions, the owner has not been pleasant! It's a shame! It seems everything is going up, and you'd like a nice dining experience...DO NOT GO TO BLUE SPRINGS PIZZA SHOPPE!! If you are into being mistreated, this is the place for you!!! read more

My family visits Pizza Shoppe often for carry out. The salad and pizza is always excellent. However, the service provided while placing our carry out order today was poor and unprofessional. My father calls to ask questions about the menu and instead of showing some customer service and patience, Elaine L proceeds to tell him, she didn't have time to answer his questions during their lunch rush and hung up on him. Upon arriving for the order, after placed by myself (his daughter), he was shocked to see not a single customer in the restaurant. We're all busy, sure, but show a little grace for the older generation, not to mention customer service. read more

Great!!! Our take out order was quickly ready and hot when we got there. The Round Table is the best supreme pizza I've ever had. Lots of toppings and just the right amount of sauce. The Butcher block, all meat, is my favorite. The bacon is not covered by a lot of other flavors so it gets it's seat at the table (see what I did there? Lol). The king size is large like you'd get other places and the queen is like a medium. I like to support local when I can and there are several locations to fit your pizza needs!! read more

My weekday lunch special included a mini (6.5") single topping pizza, a house salad, and a drink for $7.99. The salad had plenty of shredded cheese, and delicious "pink stuff" dressing, while the pizza had a fair amount of pepperoni on a tasty, thin and crunchy crust. The dining area was clean and nicely done, with two TVs, 80's background music, and a bar area (but no beer or wine), while the service was attentive, fairly fast (pizza in 15 minutes), but not especially cheerful or friendly. Used to love the lunch deal here. Affordable, tasty and filling. These days I would suggest eating anywhere but here. They changed their ranch dressing to a basic dressing instead of making it in house. It tastes like crap. I was in there yesterday for the last time and paying for my to go order. The older man who I assume is the owner, drops a to go cup on the floor. Sits it down on the counter next to the ice and other cups instead of trashing it. Grabs a new cup and makes the drink for someone else's order. I kept my eye on the cup as I was Waiting for my to go drink and didn't want that cup for obvious reasons. A few minutes later the rude older blonde lady comes around the corner and stacks the cup inside of the other to go cups in the stack. Now keep in mind she didn't know it had fallen to the floor and shouldn't have been there in the first place so I said to her what happened and she says "itll be ok" and smirks as she walked off. A short time later she came back to the stack of cups and took half of them and threw them in the trash and says "better?" I wanted to say something more but I just shook my head in disgust. For me this is a forgotten little gem! I used to run in here with my ex and our double dates. And after the ex just kinda stopped going. But, I love the salad... Say it with me... PINK STUFF! And I don't think I ever had a pizza I did't like here. And I have tried almost all the types. Something about their cheese I think. Just covers and holds the pizza together better than most. They do seem to go lighter on the sauce as well. (This is a personal preference for me). I stopped in a few weeks ago with kids and some other adults and had a great experience. The staff was attentive and quick. They also paid attention to the kids and spoke with them when they ordered their own pizza. It was a good time had by all. Rude service. BF went in to pick up pizza which was not ready. Asked to change TV to race which they did. 5 minutes later some other guy comes in and wants TV changed to a football game which was NOT the chiefs and they changed it for him. WTH. Absolutely rediculous. List my business! read more

I hadn't been to Pizza Shoppe in several years, but found myself in the area around lunchtime so I thought I'd give it a shot. First, let me say the woman who served me was super friendly, almost motherly. I really got the impression that she enjoyed interacting with her customers. The food was just so-so. I love a good cracker crust pizza, but the flavor of this was a little on the bland side, I was left feeling like I was missing something. It was OK, not great, but wouldn't keep me from going back. BUT, what would keep me from going back is that both TV's were playing Fox News. I get it. The owner has the right to whatever he wants to do in his place of business, but why not have something else on TV? At the very least given how polarizing things are right now, he could have at least had another option on one of the TVs. Sadly, I didn't realize this until I'd already placed my order, otherwise I would have quietly left. read more

We are in town from Alabama but I am very familiar with Pizza Shoppe. I knew I had to have lunch here before we left. So today, my husband, my friend and I went here to have lunch. We went in about 3:10 today, there were no other customers in the restaurant. We sat down and the waitress came to our table, put one menu on the table and asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked for additional menus so that we could all look and decide what type of pizza we wanted. She curtly tells us that they only give one menu per table. We then gave her our drink order and my husband asked for a Budweiser. She informs him that they have no beer....(it's a pizza restaurant and no beer?????). My friend asked if the lunch special was still on and she said "No, it ended at 3:00". I asked, in case we wanted to come another day before we left town, what the lunch special was. She gave a little huff and told us that it started at $8 something with a one topping pizza, salad and drink. She made no apology at all about the fact that they only give 1 menu for 3 people or the fact that their pizza restaurant had no beer. The service and her attitude was so bad that we got up and walked out. I know I will never go back in there if this is the type of service they offer. I'm disappointed. I didn't get my pizza or my salad with the "pink stuff" but I'm sure we can find another Pizza Shoppe that will be more gracious. read more

Classic Ma and Pa shop. You go for the crispy, cheesy thin pizza, not the decor or televisions. We went on a Friday night; it was busy. We had the side salad with the famous pink dressing--I liked it, if a bit gimmicky. We ordered two pizzas, one classic pepperoni and one with just about everything. Our waitress was nice and bustling around the shop. Pizza was very crispy but not overly thin. Next time I think I'll order but get takeout. read more

Stopped in here to get carryout the other weekend. My plan was to order there and have a beer while waiting since Pub is included in the name of the business. Well, forget that, they only serve sodas here. How do you advertise and name yourself as a restaurant and pub if you don't actually serve alcohol? Anyway, the inside reminded me of a Pizza Hut. I made it back in to Pizza Shoppe today with the same friend mentioned in my previous review. Sadly, today was another disappointing day when it comes to Pizza Shoppe. Mondays they have a 1 topping Queen/King deal for $7.49/$9.49. We opted for the King with pepperoni and added sausage. This time I asked for extra sauce on the pizza as well due to the dry pizza last time. It came out and didn't look to great. I can't really pinpoint the problem, but for some reason it was unappealing to the eye. There was plenty of Italian sausage on it, but the flavor wasn't really there. To me it tasted a lot like the sausage on a Tombstone pizza. I mean, that sausage isn't terrible, but it could have been better. The pepperoni was under the cheese and basically unidentifiable. Overall, the pizza I had just wasn't great. I can't really see myself going back anytime soon. read more

I ordered the Tuesday special from the Pizza Shoppe on Santa Fe in Overland Park. As I was leaving and approached my car the bag with salads blew off the top of the pizza boxes and landed in the parking lot. One salad and container of dressing fell out and open onto the asphalt. I went in to get another salad. I told them what happened and offered to pay for another salad. I was disappointed that they actually charged me for one. Also the worker asked if I needed a dressing (instead of throwing one in. I DID pay for an additional salad). Thought that was poor customer service on their part. The same man that took my original order also put the new salad at the register for me to pay for. Not sure if he is a manager, but he was also not very friendly. I tried this place for lunch today - I had the Mini pizza lunch special which comes with a salad and drink. I originally asked for Ranch dressing - the house dressing is "the Pink" - but when I picked up my carryout order I mentioned that I never had "the Pink" so he said he would throw in a container of that as well. I ordered the "Butcher Block" special pizza which is an assortment of meats - sausage, bacon, ham... and it was tasty! Even with all of that meat is wasn't greasy - Thanks John G! The pizza kind of reminds me of Gatti's that I used to eat in Wichita Falls, TX many many many years ago - which I miss immensely. The house dressing "the Pink" which was described by the counter guy as a creamy Italian style was more like an Italian/Thousand Island combination and PINK! But is was tasty as well. I grabbed a cup of Maggie Moo's chocolate chocolate chip ice cream out of the little frig unit by the front counter for dessert - I am going to have to do a little research on where this stuff comes - it is creamy and smooth and very delicious and I want some more! read more
