    Pepperoni Pizza

Pepperoni Pizza is literally my comfort food from this location. In my opinion it's the best. The Garlic buffalo wings are delicious I recommend 100%! I usually door dash my order and once in a while I will go pick it up. It's great to the either option.

Great food and great service. Pizza is always made to order and hot! The sandwiches and pasta are great as well. The dining area is very calm lots of space to eat.

You want tradition? You want a place that makes you sit and wait awhile and forces you to have a conversation with one another as your pizza is cooked to perfection? Look no further. Let's begin this pizza review. LA or East LA has a scarcity of good authentic Italian pizza, and I mean it. And finding one good pizza place is an arduous process. I think Pizza Time has one of the best pizza. It's almost as good as NY pizza, where I grew up. Pizza Time is a small pizza place located in a small corner plaza on S. Atlantic avenue. PT's mission is keeping the tradition on what it means to be Italian. This place makes you feel like family. Don't be afraid to order something other than pizza because whatever you order will be on point. I ordered a mini pizza with two toppings and a bottle of water. It's delightfully tasty and stimulating to the palate. The melted mozzarella cheese was great and the crust was as good as the pizza itself; a word of advise make sure you wait until it cools down so that you won't burn your upper palate as you eat. Anyways, their prices were reasonable given the quality of food. Overall, I enjoyed my pizza and their service. I highly recommend them.

I got the lunch special for $10.99. Love that there were nutritious greens, sometimes all you get is iceberg lettuce at some of these pizza joints for their lunch special salads. Pizza slice was smaller than expected, i was expecting a giant slice or at least something bigger than a Chuck E Ceese slice. Back was burned a bit and crust was hard as a rock. Mozzarella was gooey and yummy though, but definitely not gourmet (i dont think) for you cheese snobs. Service and ambiance was what you can expect at any hole in the wall pizza joint.

I remember this place use be Rio's Pizza many years ago this is my first coming back from so many years ago. At the time I was going back I was saying to my self I hope they certain crunch to the crust I love the crust is nice and crispy when taking a bite. The place looks the same at the same location just across the street from East L.A. College then I went in and saw the menu. I was looking what to order but I decided to order two slice of cheese pizza and a large veggie sandwich to go. It took 10 minutes to get my order then I left to go home. The smell of the slice cheese pizza was over willing I decided to take one of the slice cheese pizza apart,I took the crust very crunchy and chewy that's the way I like it. I got home just finish just one of the slice and took the other slice apart both slice were very good. The tomatoe was very good with a good flavor that wasn't salty or water down it brought the flavor of tomatoe out with cheese was really good I really enjoy it. My large veggie sandwich was pretty good good flavors like mushrooms and the onion and the green pepper and the cheese add it so balance in sandwich I really like it very much. I need come back again soon.

Ordered takeout and was surprised it was empty considering its next to ELAC. Very delicious food for a reasonable price. My boyfriend and I shared a small (but generous portions) baked mostaccioli and a calzone. Both items had an abundance of cheese (my fave!!!) and they certainly did not skimp out on toppings!! If you're a cheese lover I recommend supporting this business! In total, everything came out to be $28 and some change but it was completely worth it imo for the portions alone.

    National Pizza Day 2022

It's National Pizza Day so guess what we decided on eating for dinner. We ordered the large 16 inch pizza with medium crust and adding mushroom, pepperoni, and salami. They offer regular thick crust, medium, or thin New York style. I'm glad we didn't order the X-large because it would have been too much pizza for the two of us. The pizza is full of cheese and plenty of toppings making it just right in flavor and some good crispy crust.

    Coworkers can't help themselves.

For those visiting, note that there are two separate entrances: the main sit-down restaurant is near the parking lot off Valley, while the take-away entrance is around the back. They have arrows leading to the back, so be sure to follow them. The staff was friendly and offered helpful suggestions. I ordered a small half-cheese, half-sausage pizza ($25.25). The sausage had a great flavor, and the crust was very fluffy and doughy--so if that's your preference, you'll enjoy it. However, the cheese experience was disappointing; it was clumpy, overly salty, and quite oily. The cheese slid off the slices almost immediately, which made for a messy meal. I'm not a fan of a pizza where the toppings don't stay put, and between the excessive grease and the texture of the cheese, it wasn't for me.

You order at the counter and sit outside. Limited counter seating inside. The best part is they offer slices, so you can try many of their NY style thin crusts. Check the case for what's available as a slice. Tip: They also have square pies a la Detroit style. Tip: The pizza transports well and is great the next day. They have a decent cookie as well. Try their cheese, vodka, margherita, or pepperoni/sausage if you are feeling meaty. Kid friendly, and has a restroom on site. Definitely worth the pilgrimage. To be honest,…read morethis is just an average pizza for me - it sorta reminds me of something you would find at a fair. There's only one size available so that's a problem if it's just you. As you can see, the pizza is huge! Yes, you can buy slices but it makes more financial sense to buy a whole pizza. Next, this is not a "cheesy" pizza. So, if you like all that gooey cheese on your pizza, you're going to be disappointed here. The cheese is so minimal you may ask yourself if there's in fact any cheese on the pizza. The cheesy bread, however, will satisfy your desire for gooey cheese. Highly recommend you pick up a side of the bread. It reheats up nicely too. As pictured, there's inside and outside dining areas. I went when it just opened so there were only a few people dining. Parking here will not be easy. I was told that if you pass the residences, there is ample parking on a vacant lot. This is not the safest neighborhood so if you're a female and you're by yourself, you may not want to park that far and make that walk (especially at night). There is a Dollar Tree across the street with a lot, however, that establishment also tends to draw sketchy characters. So, if easy parking is one of you're requirements, you may want to pass on this place. All in all, this place was more hype and it left me craving that satisfying cheesiness that should be on a pizza. I definitely won't have this place on rotation when I get that pizza craving. No hate, I just love my pizza cheesy. ‍

Mamma's is more tangy, which my partner prefers. Anyway......saucy tangent aside...). We also got a mushroom/spinach pizza which was delicious, and an appetizer of toasted cheese ravioli. They gave us some free garlic knots to start. Delish. You order at the counter and they give you a number. The tables were moderately clean. The (very nice) staff member who came to our table when we realized there were no meatballs asked us to dig under the noodles to see if the meatballs were...hiding? We earnestly asked him, "Do you see any meatballs?" because, I dunno, maybe they were really tiny meatballs? We collectively concluded that there were no meatballs, so some delicious meatballs was brought to our table posthaste. Solid service. Recently, my son and I have been making pizzas on Friday nights as a bonding experience while my wife is out with friends. We make some, buy one, and compare. My son usually prefers his homemade, but Petrillo's is the exception! He loved the cheesy cheese pizza and the amazing cheese pull. I ordered half cheese and half their specialty pizza, which includes mozzarella, Romano cheese, house tomato sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, onions, and green bell peppers. Their small pizza is 12 inches and has 8 slices, which is much larger than other places. Petrillo's Specialty Pizza is stacked with generous toppings and has a doughy but crispy bottom - the best of both worlds. I enjoyed the Specialty pizza, especially the Italian sausage. While I'm not a mushroom fan, I ate them anyway. I'll likely hold off on mushrooms next time. They provide generous amounts of complimentary crushed red pepper packets, paper plates, and napkins. Parmesan cheese packets cost extra, about $0.50 each, if I remember correctly. The staff were friendly and are local residents, which is always great to see in a mom-and-pop business. You can eat in or order from the take-out counter on the right side. It's best to order ahead to avoid a 20-25 minute wait. My only minor complaint was the pizza was a bit sloppy when I took a picture, but I understand they're busy getting orders out. I will definitely be back to Petrillo's for pizza!

We were greeted by the host and waited about 2-3 minutes to be seated. There were around 4 or 5 tables that were already seated and/or eating. Setting: typical western restaurant with booths and tables. Quite dark inside. We were sat at a booth but the seats had a bunch of residual bread crumbs on them. We had to ask a waiter/busboy to clean off the seats for us. Food: This restaurant is known for their pizza so we ordered their signature pizza to share. We also ordered the fried zucchini appetizer and the spaghetti bolognese which came with a side (Minestrone soup) There was complimentary bread and butter for the table - it was soft and fluffy on the inside and had a nice crust. But it came out cold. Would have been better if it was warmed up. Fried zucchini: well breaded, came with ranch. Portion size was ok, not too big but not too little either. But quite expensive at $11 for an appetizer that did not WOW the table. Minestrone Soup: average, quite salty, given it is early in the evening, the soup should not be this salty whereas the end of the day usually means the soup has been reduced and concentrated by warming/simmering. Spaghetti Bolognese: plenty of meat in the sauce and pretty tasty as well; but the biggest flaw was that the spaghetti was way overcooked. Huge negative for an Italian restaurant - the base/pasta of your dishes should be perfect and this was far from Al dente. Petrillo Signature Pizza: loaded with toppings, they did not cheap out with the toppings and pretty tasty as well; however, another big flaw was that the dough was dry and dense - the dough did not rise. The yeast in the dough was either non-existent or was not given enough time to rise and create the fluffy dough and crust texture of a typical pizza. We basically got dense flatbread. As this was the signature pizza, it was quite disappointing. Service: Average, nothing great. The servers came by a couple times only after the food came out. Could have really stopped by a couple more time to check in. Rating: 2 stars Review summary is based on mainly food quality as the quality of the food, attention to detail, and execution all was very subpar. Given the kitchen was not super busy on a Saturday evening, the poor quality leaves much to desire.

It came with an egg yolk on top that you mix into the pasta, making it rich, creamy, and flavorful. The lobster linguine was another standout dish. We were seated right away, and the place already had quite a few people dining inside. The experience started a little off for me when ordering. I then asked if I could order the penne pasta dish with chicken but substitute a different pasta since I'm not a fan of penne, and again was told no. I've been to plenty of restaurants that don't allow certain substitutions, but simply adding chicken seemed like a reasonable request, especially since I didn't mind paying extra for it. It just felt a little strange being told no to every option. That said, the other staff members were attentive and provided good service throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is casual and had a steady crowd while we were there. I also noticed the entire staff working that night appeared to be male, just an observation. The food itself was really good. The baby greens salad, pasta dish, and chicken portobello were all very flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, I left with mixed feelings because the food was solid, but the ordering experience could have been more accommodating. Still, I would recommend giving this place a try because the food definitely delivers.
