I heard of this place from a friend who recommended it. So the other day I decided it was pizza night and I gave them a try. I ordered a prosciutto, arugula, and fresh mozzarella pizza. I now have a new regular pizza spot. They did a fantastic job.The place looks great and I ate way too much pizza simply because I kept coming back for more slices. I craved the leftovers. I come here once a week to once every other week. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, along with the staff. The pizza does take some time to make but ordering some sides are a good way to make the time fly while waiting for a pizza. The boneless wings are great, along with the garlic bread! I always get the Detroit pepperoni pizza and I'm never disappointed!! If you have room for desert the friend dough is absolutely amazing. Everything comes in good quantities and tastes amazing. It is so hard for me to love absolutely everything I get, but this place never disappoints me! I have not had one bad experience here! If you're in a rush you can also call in a order for a fresh pizza for dine in and they'll give you an approximate time for when it'll be ready so by the time you sit down this pizza is done and delivered so you can have a fast and speedy dine in experience! Ordered for carry out and arrived to see a display case that looked amazing with many delicious looking pizza options. I ordered a thin crust cheese pizza , a garbage salad and an order of crinkle fries. Being a south sided and having access to some of the better pizza in chicago, I have been searching for a north side option and I have found it with Pizza Boy. Everything I ordered was absolutely amazing. Fresh, hot and full of flavor. Pizza was perfectly baked. Salad was fresh as can be and a great portion size. The food here was great! It's hard to find good garlic knots at restaurants, but Pizza Boy really knows how to make them tasty. I absolutely loved the nutella pizza and will definitely be repurchasing it again for sure. Also, the service was fantastic! The front desk lady Victoria was very helpful and kind. Being Italian I am very "picky" about Pizza and GRAVY. My grandkids and I met my brother there for a "spur of the moment" dinner. The Cheese Curds were AMAZING!!! My husband and I were so excited to try the Detroit style pizza, and it absolutely did not disappoint!! It was perfect in every way. We ordered the pizza for carry out, and it held up great even though we didn't eat it for about 15 minutes. It was perfectly crispy and still hot. The Detroit style crust, regardless of your topping preference, shows that they know their trade. Every bite it crispy and airy, which is difficult to do. This is my new favorite spot. read more

Great pizza! Slices are very large and consistent in taste. Only complaint is that the staff doesn't wear masks despite the IL mask mandate- thought maybe it was a one time thing but no masks ever. Food is good I just hope they're staying clean and more importantly safe! read more

We've been here twice and both times got the Edison Park special pizza. We really enjoyed the pizza. All the ingredients seemed fresh and we liked that it didn't sit heavy. All the ratios of sauce, cheese and toppings seemed spot on. I do think it was a little expensive but frankly anywhere you go to eat now is. The best place around! And to the food critic that bashed you for not wearing masks....I've been to many places in the burbs where the staff isn't wearing them!!! Wanted to try for a few months now. After hearing good reviews finally tried it and very sorry that I did. Extremely greasy as in dripping off of pizza. I like greasy but not to the point of filling a glass. Also all i could taste was salt. Way too much oregano for me. Very little cheese and watery sauce. Wanted to like this but just can't. I'm furious! Tonight, I stopped at Pizza Boy in Edison Park - newly opened - eager to try a new place and support a small business. The sign on the door says, "We are keeping it clean and safe for all," but it didn't take long to realize that's not the case! Right off the bat, the man who took my order was not wearing his face covering properly. It was under his nose, as he handled the piece of pizza that I was planning to purchase. As I stood at the counter waiting for my pizza to be heated, I could see into the kitchen. There were about 8 people in the kitchen - all close to one another - two were wearing face coverings properly - one man and one woman. The rest of the staff either had NO face covering on at all, or it was placed under their noses or chins. The cashiers, in front, were wearing their masks properly, and wiping down the counters. I told the cashier, "I'm extremely disappointed to see that the kitchen staff are not wearing their masks/face coverings properly." When I said that, a rude customer in the restaurant began harassing me about my comments. It was none of his business and had NOTHING to do with him! Nonetheless, he kept harassing me! The kind girl working at the cash register asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. I said, "Yes!" When the manager came out of the kitchen to speak to me, SHE PULLED HER FACE COVERING OVER HER NOSE! She wasn't wearing her mask properly, while she was in the kitchen!  I pointed out that the sign on the door says, "We're safe, but I'm not, because 6/8 people working in the kitchen are NOT properly wearing their face coverings - including the manager! This is an egregious violation of the Illinois Department of Public Health Emergency Mask Mandate! I didn't spend nearly a year of my life isolating from family and friends and working from home to catch COVID-19 from picking up a piece of pizza - all b/c the management and staff are not following the state mandate! Instead of taking my chances, I asked for a refund, which I was promptly given, and walked out. You would think a new restaurant would be extremely cautious and diligent about following the state mandates, especially given the long lockdown, but not this one! You would think they'd be concerned about their reputation with customers and keeping their employees and customers as safe as possible. Obviously, they aren't!  I applaud the cashiers and two kitchen employees who were wearing their face coverings properly. I hope they got the tip I left, after I paid and prior to walking out. As for the manager, SHAME ON YOU!  I'd rather order from Domino's any day than EVER return to Pizza Boy! Apparently, you think the state mandates don't apply to Pizzaboy! Apparently, you think your staff, your restaurant, and your customers are immune from catching or spreading COVID-19! Apparently, you haven't lost a friend or family member from COVID-19!  Apparently, you're not concerned about community spread or operating safely and responsibly! So, so, so disappointed to see this is how this new establishment is running its business! I can only hope that the owners realize that you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and one of the most basic ways you can make your restaurant "safe for all" is to require employees to wear face masks/coverings at all times, whether they are taking orders or preparing them. Your customers are watching and noting the things you are doing and are NOT doing to help keep us, our family members, and the community safe. They solved the problem - they covered the windows on the kitchen doors. What you can't see - might hurt you......so much for transparency! read more

Disappointed. Thin crust would've been solid if baked longer. Toppings were good but, the Detroit tasted old, like the crust had been sitting in the fridge for a few days. It was dense and dry, tasted like old fryer oil. Would hesitantly try again, but I think Jet's is sadly superior. read more

I love pizza boy's Pizza! We get the pie cut super thin kind But I've heard the Detroit pizza is phenomenal! The garbage salad is also really good but would prefer a homemade vinaigrette. Not a dealbreaker. We did order the zucchini one time and we were not a fan. Too much breading and seemed like it was probably frozen prior to frying. I am mostly a vegetarian and appreciate vegetarian options on the menu but The eggplant parm sandwich was a huge disappointment! Many layers of stacked Very thin slices of eggplant individually breaded so when you bite into the sandwich it's basically bread on bread with a little bit of eggplant. Just really mushy and unappealing. They could definitely upped their game on that! They make a great Italian beef though. One thing though, they nickel and dime you on any sauces you need-ketchup for your fries costs extra for example so does the marinara for the fried zucchini. And they have tiramisu on their menu but are always out of stock. Maybe one of these days I'll luck out and get to try it.
