There are lots of choices for pizza in Ventura county but Dan's is the best by far. My fav is the thin crust pepperoni and pineapple but the spinach and mushroom is super savory. I've been going here for over 5 years and it's the best pizza in town. I like their pan pizza and calzones. Many places add ricotta cheese to a calzone, which I don't like, and this place does not do that. It's mozzarella and whatever toppings you add and is so good with their ranch dipping sauce. All of the appetizers are great and my family especially loves the potato wedges. The salad bar is pretty good and I've always found it to be fresh. Whenever we have family in from out of town we order here and everyone always says the pizza is really good. I can say it's always been fresh and consistent! I do find that the delivery time is usually faster when ordering through their website. It's also simple and easy to do! Very expensive, bad quality service. Don't mind to pay high price for good food but I spect a smile while Poole take my order. I was trying to get more salad after I spend almost $100 dollars at this please and the person in charge in a very disgusting way told me I can't. The reason that we ate here, and i'm ashamed to admit it is they have a monster truck, yea i know. nuts. and one of those inflatable wavy guys too. so from what was initially a "get a load of this place" endeavor turned into hey! thats pretty decent pizza for 5 bucks each! we got the bbq chicken, which is pretty hard to do poorly and like we expected it was from decent to pretty good. I live near the Victoria location ordered a pizza and boneless wings the delivery took 50 mins. The pizza was cold and it was missing a small slice. I only called to try out pizza man Dans because Toppers on mainstreet was closed for maintenance never again will I order from pizza man Dans. Mediocre cold pizza is what you will get. Not worth it go somewhere else especially for delivery orders. Not worth the price I paid and toppers never takes that long not even on a busy weekend night. Pitiful service! read more

Great pizza! Crunchy crust, sauce is full of flavor, pepperoni is crisped to perfection, melty cheese and the ranch is fantastic. Plus two free ranches per pizza, most places don't offer that. Pizza Man Dans is a must. It is similar to rustys and toppers and has my vote for #1 read more

This place was awful! I ordered my food over the phone. Had my work shirt on, and at first it was cool that they knew exactly who I was and handed me my order and small drink. When It came to pay, I asked the guy if I had paid for a large drink. He nodded yes. Takes my small drink back then gives me a large. Ordered a Philly cheesesteak and it tasted like the meat had freezer burn. My buddy ordered "chicken wings." Paid $8 for them. All they were was chicken nuggets with two dipping sauce. WTF? I mean, if you trying to compete the likes of Papa John's, Little Caesars, Dominos,....why would you have a sit down facility?? If you have a family spending a serious chunk of change ($150) for dinner however your going to advise that extra ranch or salad is going to break the bank. Those items are a few dollars if that and you have to sell numerous $9.99 pizzas to make up the cost. During times of quarantine I saw they ad for 9.99 large and decided to pick up a pizza and wing.. pizza $9.99 and $16. For 12 wings let me tell you I'm truly disappointed the pizza and wings were pretty much burnt the wings had very little sauce I would have rather got Little Caesar maybe I'm just comparing to Toppers, that's my go to place. Maybe times are just hard and they are understaffed idk.. I had pizza and wings from their Port Hueneme location and that was pretty good but that was years ago. Never been before and I went because the guy at Starbucks recommended this place. They had some great specials and I now realize that the person taking my order was pushing those specials for a reason. But I didn't order a special. I ordered a meat pizza and wings. Almost had a heart attack when I realized the medium pizza was $25. Pizza was good but nothing to write home about. The wings were so hot that you couldn't even touch them for about 8 minutes and then almost choked on them because they were sawdust dry. I mean couldn't swallow and had to spit them out. Their quality is suffering and still over priced. 1 month ago I had the pizza with the family, dine in style. Spent over 60 dollars on 1 pizza wings and drinks. Pizza was burnt and they had to make a new one. Had delivery today. Pizza took over 67 minutes from phone call to delivery. Quoted 30 minutes. Worse part was one of the pizza's was burnt all along the edges. I won't be back, just not worth the money to have burnt, cold pizza. read more

Pizza was good but saturated with grease so much that I had to let the pizza sit on a paper towel to absorb some of the grease on the bottom of the pie. I ordered a pepperoni with extra cheese. They loaded the pizza with so much pepperoni that it was almost unenjoyable. At times I would bite through 5 pieces of pepperoni stacked on top of each other. While I can appreciate that some people would want it this way, it seems like all that pepperoni saturated the entire pizza with grease which made me nauseous and gave me acid reflux. I do believe the ingredients themselves hold promise but too many toppings can also be an issue of quality control. read more

I went with my son, brother, and mom. We ordered a all meat calzone and it was awesome! A huge calzone filled with my favorite toppings and their awesome ranch to dip into. Then the pizza...the pizza!...so so good. I always ask for extra sauce because when I don't, it's kinda dry, but the extra sauce kicks this pizza into another world. Simply the best in Ventura. We also ordered a large salad (which is all you can eat) and the salad bar was so super fresh and filled with tons of options. Only thing we noticed was the cucumber slices were kinda slimey..add all this with their awesome soda machine that gives you endless options, our experience is always great here. Game on tv's, great pizza, family, what more? I come here as often as I can and PMD never lets me down. The service was awesome also, which enhances the whole pizza parlor experience. Clean seats and quick service, but then it goes wrong: the lettuce in the salad bar was old, and come to find out ordering a "ham and pineapple calzone" will result in you receiving a meat calzone. Needless to say, if they can't get the two main dishes they serve correct it's hard for me to justify spending money here. read more

Horrible customer service. You call a number that's listed as a local number but it's really a call center that you have to wait for. When asking about specials they hung up on me because I asked my kids really quick if they wanted bread sticks. Great Pizza! We got sausage, meatball, and garlic with thin crust. It was cooked perfect, I like when my crust has a chew to it. The meatballs tasted like they make them there and chop 'em up to sprinkle generously onto your pizza. I'm a crust eater (unfortunate for my dogs, although i try to share) and was still getting bites of meat while enjoying last bites of each slice. The cheese is good quality and the garlic is roasted which makes it undetectable in texture and leaves only the aroma and flavor. My salad was equally enjoyable! Super fresh greens (romaine and spinach) and fresh wedges of quality tomatoes, sliced cucumber. I could have gone for less bite size cauliflower and broccoli, but only because I prefer them cooked. I don't know about y'all, but the pizza isn't the only thing that's good there. They have some of the most outgoing and nicest employees there that I always leave with a satisfied smile. To me, when it comes to going out to eat at a restaurant or even picking something up, workers that really take the time to be patient and kind makes up a lot of the experience as well. My family and I went here for dinner tonight. We walked in and asked the cashier for the $9.99 special, among other things. He said ok and placed our order. We ordered it for dine in. Well, after looking at our itemized bill in the middle of our meal, it was actually charged as $19.99. So I got up and spoke to the manager. She said the special is only for take out, and it's written on the sign outside. Be that as it may, we did not see that sign outside. We went there on a recommendation from a friend to get the special. We weren't looking at signs outside. And you would think the cashier would have mentioned the price would double after we requested the $9.99 for dine in. He should've mentioned to us that our price would change drastically. If we would have known, we most certainly would've ordered it take out. Double the price just to eat inside?? What a rip off. The kid already made a mistake on another item we ordered which made it to where I didn't even start eating until everyone else was done. I just feel like he was poorly trained, and the manager could've done something more to correct it. I've worked in the restaurant business for years, and it is common courtesy/knowledge that you inform thr customer of ANY price changes. That way there can be no misunderstandings. Tried the deep dish, unfortunately, was super chewy and very dry. Stick to the regular crust its much better. It went from a more premium tasting pizza (regular crust) to tasting like a cheap (little ceasars) quality tasting pizza. However, instead of a $7 price tag, here its $20+. The deep dish crust here needs some major revamp and work done to improve it. Don't recommend getting it over the thin crust, was very disappointed. read more
