Rusty's Pizza Parlor reminds me of the pizza places I went to as a kid. Literally. Its got an almost retro feel to the place, old arcade (NeoGeo) games and such on the wall and all the furnishings are on the older side.... We ordered a large pan pizza with our usual toppings...it was good but not totally amazing. They didnt have a white or garlic sauce instead of the marinara so we just went with lite sauce. We had asked for extra cheese and I swear there was the normal amount or maybe even a little less. Since it was a pan pizza it was super filling and I probably ate only 3 or 4 pieces. We ended up taking half of it home as leftovers. It was a decent pizza, it just didnt stand out from all the other pizza places in the area. I have heard really good things about Rusty's so I plan on going back...I think maybe next time I will try the regular crust instead of the pan. Less bread to deal with. :0) read more

The cashier didn't know anything about this place it was our first time and asked him what the best deals are.. he said managers special and then said it's either $15 or $40!? That's a huge difference buddy... okay we were confused can we just order a single slice? He said ya and I said what are the options and he said he wasn't exactly sure!? Wtf we ended up getting a small 10 inch pizza with all the wrong toppings we didn't order on it and payed $24. Don't get me wrong this pizza is the best!!! This place used to be great when it was Rusty's. Took 12 mins from ordering to getting our personal pizzas, while there was hardly anyone in the store. The salad bar was a wreck and low on everything. Nine base sodas were out on the soda machines. There was food on the floor, workers on their cell phones, dirty tables. Most of this is excusable if they were busy but including us, there were 3 tables and Dans had workers literally standing around talking. Ugh. read more

We order the heart shaped pizza for Valentine's Day and had sausage and pepperoni toppings. The pizza was fresh and delicious and the toppings were also very good. The prices are kind of high, but comparable to other pizza places in the area. The service was good and our order was just in time. I definitely will have to stop in and dine at this location. It's great and close to the beach. We actually took our pizza to go and ate it on the beach watching the sun set. read more

Place is a lil old and small, but its still fun to come with a group of friends and watch some sports while scarfing down some yummy pizza. TV is big, but a lil old. There are like 4 arcades against the wall, tables throughout, a salad bar, small outside patio, and a private party room. Pizza is yummy...i'd say pretty close to Ameci's pizza style. The salad is OK. Topper's salad is better. Their HOT WINGS are BOMB!!! Just thinking about it makes me hungry. If you want booze, they just have domestic beer last time i checked. I have always been a fan of PizzaMan Dan's in Carpinteria. We just moved to Ventura and I stopped by this location to grab some food to go. Angel took our order and he was so friendly and accommodating. He offered to get us plates, forks, napkins, extra everything since we are in the middle of unpacking. Absolutely love Pizza Man Dan but had a bad experience with payment & billing on 7/2/2019. Had pizza delivered, tried ordering pizza online wouldn't work so I called it in. Paid with card # over phone but when delivery of pizza driver didn't have receipt for me. Then today I noticed the amount I was charged, called Pizza Man Dan, girl couldn't help me much I explained and asked to speak with supervisor and I was told there wasn't anyone I could talk to and since it was the day after not much anything could be done. Kids wanted to pizza - I was really surprised that they had a Gluten Free pizza here it was okay - I was just happy that they had one and I could also eat there. The salad bar was really fresh and the staff was really nice. My son loved his personal pizza and he ate the whole thing which is unusual to say the least. Good stuff. The deep dish is similar to that of Pizza Hut (vs. Chicago deep dish which is my favorite). Its thick rather than stuffed. The toppings, however, are far superior to the large chain. Good quality and they do not skimp. We're big fans of specialty pizza and they have it. Tried the pesto and added garlic & meatballs. The real treat is they offer potato wedges and they are cooked right (breaded and crispy outside). Not sure why more pizza places don't offer these in CA. Terrible customer service, They tell you when you call in trying reserve a table that you will get a call back and it never happens. I ended up having to follow up twice to then get told I was better off going into the restaurant to try and reserve a table. When I did they said the only spot I could get a table for would require a $50 deposit, since they already had another soccer team taking up most of the tables they had. So I said I will try my luck and just walk in. We got comfortable at this back table that was completely vacant. We had one worker come over briefly telling us we needed a reservation to sit at the table, but she was not stern about it left so we stayed. Yes it had a tiny sign saying something about that area requiring a reservation. I asked the people in that area if they made a reservation the lady said no. You could tell these people had connections to the employees either family or close friends. After we had ordered our food we had been sitting at this table for about 20 minutes then another employee comes over with such a rude tone of voice/body language that we had to move! When I explained you guys have no other tables, her body language spoke volume you could tell she has no patience. She walked away from me saying something under her breath, when I said "I'm sorry what was that?" She stayed quite. It was pretty obvious she was bad mouthing under her breath. Not once was I rude, I work in customer service I get it and this is why I have so much patience for others but this worker was so quick to dismiss us and not treat us with decent respect. Great salad bar, with very chunky blue cheese. Good pizza overall. Awesome soda machine. I just wish they had fresh brewed iced tea. The turkey sandwich tastes as good as the old Rusty's / Topper's. I will not order the Italian sub again. I'm glad I tried the turkey sub in the past, or I would never come back based on this "Italian." They use a weird cheese on it and I think the tomatoes were about to turn. We were the only table at 8 o'clock on a summer evening. Took a chance on this pizza joint because my gluten-sensitive self made everyone change their usual choice because the usual choice didn't offer a gluten free crust. We were all happy with the result, and who knows, maybe they will have a new usual! I ordered a simple gluten-free cheese pizza with fresh garlic added because its free (and it was a nice flavor addition, bonus!). The crust wasn't the best g-free pizza crust I've had -- but then again I've had a whole lot worse. I can't comment on the other's pizza, but it all looked amazing! I was drooling over their all meat pizza (even my no-pork boyfriend looked a little jealous, although he seemed pretty happy with his veggie version). So upset with this company last night I was at a fundraiser at my kids school they did not deliver enough Pizza even though the PTA said to bring a lot. It happened last year too.
