Been looking all over central PA for a good Detroit style pizza. Coming from somebody who has had all the great pizzas in New York and New Haven, this stuff is legit. Unfortunately I'm a hour away, but it was certainly worth the trip. Has all the great qualities of a good Detroit style, and is surprisingly light when picked up, the way it's supposed to be. My only critique is that I wish they put a bit more sauce on it. Will stop by again when I'm nearby!

Red onion, bacon, spinach pie! Perfectly crunch crust. Very busy for the time of day visited (Saturday at 4pm). 3 gents behind the counter very focused on pushing pies out.

If you've got the hankering for pizza in Lancaster/Pennsylvania Dutch Country, look no further than Pizzeria 211. It's located in its own nook adjacent to the food hall in the beautifully converted Southern Market, which was originally built as a farmer's market in 1888. It's location is ideal for dining in and also has street access for picking up. The interiors are welcoming, and I loved the cute wall art of happy slices of round pie and Detroit style pizza holding hands. I was skeptical of the rave reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Since the hand-tossed round pie and Detroit style pizza both looked great, we ordered both (plain). The Detroit style has always been one of those rare indulgence types of pizza that I love to try, as most pizza places don't offer it. The round pie was excellent, with a crispy bottom, yet perfectly chewy crust. It is thin enough not to be too heavy, and the sauce and cheese (with a little bit of parm on top) work in perfect harmony for a delicious and satisfying pizza. We all agreed it was great, which is high praise for a group of people that are used to some of the better New Jersey pizzerias. The Detroit style pizza was solid as well, with a somewhat crisp base and nice caramelized cheese on the edges. The ingredients were fresh similar to the round pie, but the cheese lacked just a lot bit of a zest/pop to it, and tomato sauce a bit plain tasting. It was a bit heavier than some of the Detroit style pizzas that I've tried, as most tend to be a bit lighter. Overall, it was still a decent Detroit style pie, and one that I'd order again if I had that occasional craving for that style of pizza. While the winner was the round pie, both were delicious and satisfying. A bonus is that both pizzas held up well in the taste department when reheated, which isn't always the case when a thinner pie is reheated. While these pizzas would probably rate closer to 4 stars in the NJ/NY area, they're probably as good as it gets for this part of Pennsylvania, so don't mind giving an overall 5 star Yelp rating. The guys in the kitchen were really kind and receptive to honest feedback about their pizza, showing they care about the quality of the product they serve, and took time to chat about pizza with me. I'd definitely order from Pizzeria 211 again, and recommend the business to others looking for some great tasting pizza in the Lancaster area.

    Deep dish pizza! Amazing!!

Came here on a Friday night and ordered pizza kinda late-ish in my opinion. The two men working there was so nice and got my order goin right away, they sent me a text when it was ready which really wasn't a long wait. Overall had a good experience and I am obsessed with the deep dish pizza crust!!

Detroit style is soooo good and reheats nicely the next day in the oven. Smells really good, too. So extra credit for making my house smell amazing the next day, too. 6 big slices in a tray.

However long they tell you the wait is for a pizza - is worth it. Service is friendly. Pizza is AMAZING. I will absolutely be back for more deep dish! Best in Lancaster hands down!

Loved the cheesesteak. The meat, cheese, and onions are delicious but the roll...the roll is what puts it over the top.

One of the chefs even gave each of us a small tasting plate during our meal, which was such a fun and intimate gesture for this space! We absolutely loved both of the pasta dishes we got. Everything tasted amazing, and so incredibly fresh!! We ordered an appetizer of the bread to start with, this was the only disappointing part of the meal to me. The bread was very crusty, which is not my preference, I was expecting soft bread to dip into the sauces. The flavor of the sauces on the side were excellent. I would definitely come back here. If I lived near this location, the ambience is casual, yet it gives fine dining vibes with the quality of food! The service was great as well, and we really appreciated them fitting us in on a busy Saturday night!!

Isaiah, your generosity and hospitality made the night memorable, along with your knowledge and expertise... The "My Chareau-da" (clever) was perfection. And to end the meal with the absolutely perfect sip, Dopo Teatro Vermouth Amaro, made it an extra special ending to our anniversary dinner. Chef and team: How could I forget to mention the food?! The Burrata small plate got us started (so good... we wanted to lick the pesto right off the plate), followed by The Luca Chicken (tasty, though you have to work a bit to get every bit of juicy meat off the bone) and Hanger Steak (medium rare, thank you... perfect), followed by an affogato (so smooth) and the delicious dessert you see in the photo (can't remember what it was called, but they boasted about the Lancaster strawberries). Great from start to finish! Worth noting: We felt GREAT afterward and the next day, a true test of good, real food. No bloating, etc. Last note: It can get loud, but it wasn't over the top. This is the sign of people having a good time!

Let's start off with the beverage selection, consisting of wine, Boylan Rootbeer, Saratoga and Pellegrino sparkling waters. If you want anything else, we were directed to the corner grocer, for diet coke and such. I must have been gazing at the bottled waters for far too long, for the cook behind the counter, offered a chilled bottle of still water, along with an eyeroll and slight attitude; this could have been my perception. This is going to sound like a cruel suggestion - wait, yeah.. it is rude of me to state, but I suggest you rethink your cheesesteaks, before giving them top billing. The Rendezvous Cheesesteak was one of the worst I've ever eaten. Two squares of unmelted cheese, underneath a mound of dry shredded meat, permeated with oregano and a glop of tomato sauce on top - oh no and definitely not for me. Now, are your hand-cut, double cooked fries, are they really the BEST in all of Lancaster? That's what your menu stated and as I customer, I believed it in being so. What double fried french fries look like - minimal potato, due to the double dousing of a crispy, greasy, crust and talk about salt overload, yowsa! More of that chilled still water, ahh... better. Ate three, chucked the rest. A Roni pizza, with it's savory cup pepperoni, weighed down my pie so much, that the crust became limp and floppy. I hadn't realized that oregano held such an intense flavor (especially when burnt), that along with the pepperonis, drowned out all the other flavors of sauce, cheese and hot honey.
