We ordered delivery from here while visiting family in Lancaster. We ordered one thin crust cheese pizza and two specialty pizzas. All of the pizzas had overcooked crusts that were burnt on the bottom. We also ordered Tiramisu which was great. Unfortunately, for the price, it definitely wasn't worth it. read more

Food: is the same as all caruso, not much to brag about. Want a pizza it will do. Service: good, a bunch of young guys doing their job and respectful. Ambiance: pizza Eat in or take to go. One, thing I don't understand is the counter setting. Most pizza shops have a pizza and other foods glass display which also serves as a barrier for exposure to the elements. This place puts its pizza boxes on the counter and they leave them open. As customers enter to pay, order or pick up. The boxes are open. Exposing them to elements and individuals talking over the boxes which will eventually have a pizza in them. The openness, is troubling. There is no obstruction between people and the pizzas. If a customer were to sneeze, someone's pizza box will have the sneezers DNA, as an add on ( no charge ) Every Caruso's, every pizza shop in Lancaster has the glass display which also serves as that split. The boxes just lying on the counter open is not in this writer's opinion, a distinction of cleanliness. read more

Moved here a month ago and every time I pass the place I want to stop in. I called ahead for a cheese pizza. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and did not rush me off the phone. When I arrived the pizza was still cooking but by time I finished paying it was being put int he box piping hot. Verdict: Basic local chain with good and bad menu options. The value isn't bad but each location seems to vary for quality. This review is strictly based on my experience at the Fruitville Pike location. I get the distinct impression that the cook can make a notable difference in the food you get at a Caruso's. The people here were friendly. The pizza is a little above average but not by much. Chicken cheeseeteak was priced correctly with the lunch special. I would say they have a good cheesesteak stuffed pizza. The Sicilian slice was big but about average in taste. More than enough food for lunch with those two. It's kind of a New York parlor style for your basic slices so you can walk in and order from a set of lies on display. Of course, they'll make you a full pie or anything else from their decently sized menu too. The chicken cheesesteak was also pretty basic but not a bad price when it's the lunch special. The fries probably went from a bag to the fryer but they had a good crunch. I certainly wasn't expecting anything more. All in all, it's not a favorite pizza place for me but I sometimes think about grabbing a slice when I'm going by. I'd probably go elsewhere for a sub because there are some good options in the area. read more

Staff making the food are NOT wearing masks. The cashier takes his mask(dirty, used-to-be white bandana) off to look over orders, and then puts it back up when approaching the counter.The food was okay. There was a mix up with the order, and then they blamed it on me, saying I told them the wrong item, but I was saying the correct item from the beginning. We wanted to like this place. New to the area and looking for our Go-to pizza joint. After the incident my wife had picking up food the first time, I should have just called it quits there. The store manager has no business being in public, let alone a position of authority. He was apparently berating and cussing at the young female counter person. This is never ok. Ever. If the owner reads these, you've got a problem that you need to address. This incident went on for at least 5 minutes while my wife waited for the pizza to be finished. Not that it matters, but the young counter girl also had an attitude and wasn't all that competent. My wife came home and said 'don't ever ask me to pick up food there again'. I was somewhat shocked and asked what happened. I had never heard her talk like this before. She laid out the story, and we checked the online reviews. Many more customers complaining of the same type incidents. The food itself is pretty good. Enough that I was willing to try them again. I've tried them twice since then actually. Both times I've encountered incompetence and rudeness. The guy making the pizzas is an ass clown. Maybe he hates his life. Maybe he hates his job. I don't know. This is parlayed with a complete inept counterperson...All 3 visits! Do you think you're the only pizza place in the area? Like you're doing us a favor? I'm done with this place for good, as I'm sure countless others are as well. Do you really think this is a good business plan? Especially during a pandemic that is literally killing small businesses. The staff obviously stuffed it in the box rather than get a larger one and didn't say a word about it when he handed it off. When we got home the folded side was soggy and all the cheese was balled up and stuck together. !!!ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I cannot support a business that doesn't value it's customers, and I recommend no one else does either Our office placed a large order with caruso's for delivery....they forgot to bring an item when they delivered the order. We call them to verify that the item was paid for and missing. They confirmed they forgot to bring it, and told us we would have to come to the restaurant to pickup the food if we want it, after they already received a tip and payment for the delivery. I drive to the restaurant to pick up the missing item, while the remainder of the food items that were delivered get cold. I ask the manager if he's willing loose business over such a small amount of food. Simply because they didn't want to do the right thing and drive back and deliver the remainder of the order like they were PAID to do!!! He smiles at me, hands me my item and tells me to have a good day. If you like supporting this type of behavior, which certainly indicates that the customer is only a form of payment and when payment is received then screw the the customer. Then Caruso's is you place... I expect that the numerous individuals in our corporate office will no long be purchasing our company paid lunches from this location. It's sad that the poor choices of one or two people can permanently destroy business relationships. Hopefully this is recognized and rectified, since it was such a small thing to simply deliver what you were paid to deliver. We have lived in the area for about a year. We have tried about six different pizza places and they're all average. Everything seems to be New York style pizza around here which is fine. So the guy complaining about the char on his crust actually got me to go here because I like that because it usually means it's oven baked and yummy. That was the case for the rust here! Thinner than somewhere like Papa John's, crispy, and yummy. I actually didn't have any burned edges on mine. The sauce and cheese here is just okay. I liked the black olive and onion pizza, but not the cheesesteak pizza. My family liked the cheesesteak, but I found it undercooked a bit and just not as good as others in the area (mainly Harrisburg pizza places, but that is in the same area to me, okay?). The garlic bread was AMAZING. It's super thin, yummy, and garlicky. Yum yum yum. It's also huge and you get SO much for the price. Our big complaint was that we came 30 minutes after we ordered to pick up and they hadn't started the pizza. I placed an order online with them through GrubHub and called 45 mins before the order was supposed to be delivered just to confirm that everything was on pace as I was having a meal delivered for a new mom. Despite having both the delivery time and my contact information the manager told me that the food was already made and it was rockhard and blamed everything on Grubhub. He proceeded to tell me that they hate using Grubhub and want to get rid of it as a service, which doesn't really help a customer who has already placed an order. When trying to talk about other ways to remedy the situation he got mad and then hung up on me. Part of being in the restaurant business is about having customer service. Instead I got a grown man that when presented with an issue over what would impact a customer decided to blame someone else and not even attempt to find a solution to problem. With an hour to kill before my next appointment, I chose this place to grab lunch and hang out for a while. Ordered a small chicken cheesesteak, small fry, and a small fountain soda... $11.95! Ok, a bit much , but ok. When it was ready it was given to me in a paper bag. I said I didn't want it to go, want to eat here. "Oh, we're not really doin' that" , was the kid's response. Hopefully that explains why the table surfaces were sticky enough to trap insects. My point is, if they did not have seating, post a frickin notice on the entrance door. How hard is that?
