This place is amazingly delicious! It's a toss up between Pizzeria Bardea or Sumac Mediterranean when it comes to my favorites in the DE.CO food hall. As mentioned in another review, the DE.CO food hall has a great atmosphere, with a lot of professionals from the Downtown area stopping in to grab lunch. Most places I've ordered from are pretty expedient with their service and staff has almost always been friendly. At Pizzeria Bardea, I ordered two slices - the chef's special (philly cheesesteak) and a chorizo meatball with ricotta. Needless to say, both of them were absolutely fantastic, and very filling. Everything I've gotten from Pizzeria Bardea has been good fresh and nearly as good reheated the next day. I especially like the Detroit-style pizza here. It's a style that I wasn't super familiar with--my heart belongs to New York pizza--but it's quickly grown on me. Detroit-style pizza is a thick, rectangular pizza with a light, airy crust that's crispy on the edges, topped with chunks of cheese (over to the sides for a caramelized edge), and finished with tomato sauce spooned on top. You can get many kinds of toppings, but I mostly stick to standard plain. Pizzeria Bardea is located inside the DE.CO food hall in downtown Wilmington, a short walk from the main drag on Market Street. Parking can be a bit tight, but it seems like a lot of the daytime crowd here are local office workers. Best place in DECO. It has lots to choose from. Pizzeria Bardea uses a classic wood fired oven. Good stuff here. They also have a few sandwiches if you want to get something not pizza. Get pizza here of course. It's made fresh. This means it can take a long time. Know this before if you're in a hurry. They can be called ahead to save time. It has many good choices. They have pizzas and sandwiches. I ordered the Vegetarian Pizza and got it with no cheese. It's about $14 for the personal size. This comes with many vegetables. Crispy crust without being burnt. This goes good with balsamic vinaigrette. Good amount of toppings on it. These include a lot of mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes. I liked it enough to get it again. My husband & I ordered two 11" pizzas for pick up - The Spicy Honey Pepperoni Pizza & the Salsiccia Pizza, for a total of $32! While the flavor combinations tasted good, and the ingredients seemed higher quality, overall we did not have a great experience: - Since so much of these small pizzas are just thick, outer crust, the area where there are actual toppings is small. Hence, it's more like a 7" pizza. -The pizza got cold quite fast. - The spicy honey pepperoni pizza's toppings and cheese keep falling off each time you took a slice! (The combo of cheeses probably makes the cheese toppings harder and less stretchy, which probably makes it easier to fall off the crust.) - Since the crust was very hard to chew (but ok tasting, with a nice char), so much of it remained uneaten. Went to DECO after seeing the Nutcracker. After checking out the other food options, we selected Pizzeria Bardea - what a mistake! We ordered 2 individual pizzas and a salad on their food screen. It took almost an hour for us to receive our food. I think the two workers were overwhelmed with both in-person and online orders and the pushier customers at the counter had them skipping to their orders so somehow ours was overlooked. I had to go to the counter 4 times before they told me that my food was just getting started. When we finally received our order, we found the food to just be okay. Probably would've liked it better had we not waited an hour for it. I'd suggest that Pizzeria Bardea add additional staff on Saturdays to prevent issues like this from happening again. read more

Ordered two vegetarian sandwiches for two vegetarians. Food was late, and when we bit into our sandwiches, they were full of chicken. Called the restaurant and the manager essentially accused us of lying and demanded that we RETURN the sandwiches to get a refund. We could not return the sandwiches because we are working people on lunch break. Manager repeatedly demanded to know "what we were doing" with the sandwiches, as if we were lying and eating the sandwiches, even though meat is like poison to a vegetarian. once the order was received at the office i called to discuss their LARGE as looking like personal pan size. woman on the line kept talking to someone else - i asked to talk with them - she put the phone down NOT ON HOLD - and discussed how the lady on the phone was losing her @#%& over the size of the pie. a gentleman took the receiver - never identified himself - and asked what i needed. i started with - teach your staff to use the hold button - then addressed the size of the pizza's received and what they charged for them, seemed absurd. his response was extremely condescending & curt. asked what i wanted from them - i said a refund or more food at no cost to us - he said..."i can't help it if you can't read" and hung up. so trying a new local pizza shop to order future pizza's for a company of 65 (no i wasn't trying to feed everyone with today's order) we have crossed off Pizzeria Bardea - not due to the quality or taste of the food - but because of their awful customer service read more

Very inconsistent, ranging from excellent to WTAF. I guess today is WTAF: caprese sandwich made with bocconcini (little balls instead of slices of fresh mozzarella) that drop out of the roll, mushy tomatoes, and no pesto which renders the whole thing absolutely flavorless. What it lacked in flavor was made up for with about half a pound of arugula. I was a frequent flyer but I don't think I'll be back - disappointment at Deco is getting to be the norm. read more
