Annnnnnnnd I'm back at it finding eating delights in the Sierra Vista area of AZ!! This time, I took a short jaunt to Hereford on recommendation from one of my fellow nurse compatriots. She swears by Pizzeria Mimosa, snd of course, I had to find out why!! Again, the wait was under 2 min! The hostess and waitress (Alexa) were very accommodating and friendly. Outdoor seating here gives you great views of the mountains. The kitchen is busy and the place is well-kept!! The unsweetened iced tea was on point - they are generous with the lemon, too! I ordered the chicken parmigiana plate with mista salad, fresh house bread, and a side of pasta with simple marinara. The bread is fresh and so tasty - they include seasoned EVOO for dipping. The salad is a real salad, too! Fresh mix of lettuce, sliced tomatoes, with a citrus-infused vinaigrette. The chicken parm with the side of pasta came soon after and blew me away! Generous portions are served here! Can you say perfect?! Because that's what their chicken parm is!! And the side of pasta is just as lovely! No shortchanging here! The entire meal is worth the $26 price tag to me!! I came hungry (couldn't stop for lunch today) and still couldn't finish it all!! I hear they have great desserts too, but I just couldn't today! The only complaint was their red sangria was a little weak, but that is no sweat to me and not a detractor in my scoring. They do have a large wine list to choose from as well - very nice selections, I might add!! I definitely am putting this lovely restaurant on my saves. Don't know how this place hasn't even broken past 4 stars. I've paid more for worse pizza. The house namesake pizza came out nicely cooked all the way through without being burnt. They also grate fresh parm tableside, not enough places do that anymore. Place was pretty full for a weeknight, but it wasn't loud. Waitress was very attentive. We moved to Hereford from Phoenix 6 years ago and we were delighted to have such a great restaurant nearby. Love the food, service and atmosphere. Great place for catching up with friends or a special date night. Cocktails are amazing (especially the Fig Mule!) and I especially love that they get fresh fish, and it is always expertly prepared. read more

Best thing going on within 15 miles of Hereford. Especially if you're not interested in Mexican food. I was here once a year ago and I'm still impressed....the food, ambiance, service and seating options make this place a winner. Updated my review one star. I went to mimosa yesterday 2/10/25 and had a panini and it was good along with a side Cesar salad also good. Atmosphere is nice server was nice but service still needs improvement but it's getting better. One thing I received a bread plate with bread crumbs on it but bread was good, olive oil and balsamic good. I will return. I don't think this will ever be a 4 or 5 star restaurant but I was happy today. read more

Great ambiance! Nice and classy dark decor. The service was attentive. We ordered the Margherita and Casanova pizza, and sausage panini. Both pizzas were delicious, the fresh oregano on the Margherita pizza was distinct and refreshing. The Casanova pizza had generous amounts of prosciutto sprinkled with nutty seeds (not sure what it was) but surprisingly gel with the pizza. The panini was more like an open face sandwich maybe because it was served on a hoagie bun. The location is gorgeous with a mountain backdrop and saw outdoor seating available but a bit cold for us so we opted inside. The price was slightly high for a pizza joint; however, lunch was great! read more

I've tried Pizzeria Mimosa a half-dozen times so far and I think they're pretty good! Definitely on the pricier side. Earlier this year, I had a conversation with one of the employees and he was very enthusiastic about the use of fresh and local produce and ingredients. I've had a couple pizzas, a few pasta dishes and desserts, all have been good. My only flavor-related complaint is with the cannolis, there was a mountainous heap of confectioners sugar and, even though I brushed as much of it off, it made the cannolis tooth-achingly sweet and the shells were also too oily for my liking; the oil and sugar flavor together was unfortunate. I did not give Pizzeria Mimosa 5 stars at this time because it does not appear that they really have many protocols in place for handling Covid, at least not nearly as well as any restaurant I've visited since March... yes, the employees were wearing masks, but were not limiting customers or placing tables apart. I was here on a Monday afternoon and the place was JAM PACKED. It also made little sense that nearly all of the customers were packed in one section while another section was completely vacant. Surprisingly good considering the location. This place is located south of town, convenient if hiking in Ramsey canyon or the Coronado memorial. Despite the name they have a full italian menu. We opted to split a salad and a pizza. Service was pretty slow despite them only being maybe 1/2 full at lunchtime - they seemed to have plenty of people in the kitchen, but the wait staff seemed stretched. Took over 20 minutes to get our food, and both came at the same time, something the waiter apologized profusely for. The salad was excellent - lots of fresh berries, greens, and not overly dressed. The pizza was good, though the crust away from the edges was pretty soggy. The fennel sausage is finely crumbled, which some people like, but I think it lends kind of a sawdust texture to the pie. We will stop here again when we come down to the Huachucas to do a little hiking - I'd like to try some of the other items on the menu. read more

My friends and I wanted to share a dining experience with a friend who just flew in for a visit, so we chose Pizzaria Mimosa The experience was absolutely sub par. The service did not match the prices. My spouses order was incorrect, one person at the table had to ask for their salad, another asked three times for their wine and it was wrong when it was delivered, another asked for the salad they ordered and it never came. They finally told the wait staff to not even bother when his main meal was delivered, No one offered shredded cheese unless they asked for. One bright spot, the food delivered to the table was good. This restaurant has a serious problem with the front of the house and the wait staff needs training. read more

They did it again! Pizzeria Mimosa prepared fabulous food, served by the most wonderful KAYLA) and the ambiance was lovely. We came in for a very generous email offering- $50 for 2 salads, a bottle of very nice wine, and a specialty pizza. We chose our favorite, the Margarita with fresh basil. Cooked to perfection! Chef came out to visit and asked how we liked the special wine offered and to chat. What a nice guy! We raved over the house made salad dressing and the wine selection. We sat out on the back patio, enjoying the shade, soft breeze, and mellow music. Thank you, Pizzeria Mimosa, so much for a perfect evening! We'll be back soon. Do you know that feeling you get when it's going to be holiday - - like Christmas? Or maybe your birthday is coming and you just can't wait... because you've been told that you can ask for and will get whatever it is that you've been wanting? Do you know what I'm talking about? I'm sure most of us have experienced this. You know that anxious anticipation of the day. Then that day that magical day finally arrives. You just can't wait to open all those brightly wrapped boxes with all the tinsel & bows. You finally unwrap the presents, only to find that the gifts you requested weren't what you expected at all. This was the exact feeling of anticipation I had regarding this restaurant: Pizza Mimosa. Back in 2017, I saw a newspaper article from the local paper while at a conference in Sierra Vista, touting the pizza. How their oven came straight from Italy; How authentic the flavors are; and how stunning the vistas of the Huachuca Mountain's are from the back patio. I told myself that day, "I am taking My other half here on some special occasion." Well, finally the day anticipated arrived. I know, it took quite a few years. We decided to pack up and head down south out of town with visions of pizza dancing in our heads. I just couldn't wait! Pizza Mimosa is in Hereford, just south of Sierra Vista in Hereford off Highway 92. It's literally located right off the road. There's a patio in the front of the establishment. Upon entering it is quite stunning. There's a second patio out in the back with an overlook of the mountains close by. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating, yet not the most attentive. We ordered a Panzanella salad and a white pizza. But just like the story cited above, the food was not at all what we anticipated. The promises of crusty crunchy crust, the melt in your mouth spicy sauce and fresh toppings with true Italian flavors, were just not delivered. Rather, our pizza was covered with a flavorless white sauce that rendered the crust underneath completely limp. Plus, it was cold; as if it had sat out waiting for somebody to deliver it to our table. What is more, our Panzanella salad was overdressed, soggy & wilted. When the waitress came back by to check on us after bringing the meal, she announced apologetically she had a small plastic container filled with our bread; it was filled with tiny stale raisin bread croutons (see pic) telling us apologetically.I thought: "WHAT? Isn't Panzanella salad built around the large garlicky bread croutons?" To be truthful I was actually glad they came in a cup because I didn't want them near my salad, let alone in it! My partner and I tried to swim through the wet pizza and the wet salad. Our waitress came back 10 minutes later; we politely asked if she would reheat the remaining half. She did only to return a still cold pizza. We didn't say anything. Now that my anticipations has been burst, I do believe I won't be back anytime soon. But I will say the drive is nice. The ambience was great inside; and the view from the back patio fabulous.... But if you want good pizza, I personally wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

We are new to Arizona, but this is definitely the best food we've had in the past 3 months since being here! We were seated right away. The fresh bread and olive oil brought to our table were delicious! The server was very sweet, and the wine she recommended turned out being so good, we got a bottle with dinner and one more to take home. My lasagna was very tasty- I ate my whole, large portion! YUM! My family and I have been coming to this place for years, and never have we been treated like we were tonight. (Total part of 8) My family arrived at around 7:20pm and my partner and I got in around 7:30. When we joined my family we were brought waters and told that our waitress would be right over. It took around 5-10 minutes for her to come to our table to get our drink orders, and by then we had all figured out what we wanted to eat and placed our order. We were only checked on once and that was when she was bringing out our one side salad and refilled one drink. We had not seen our server pretty much the entire time we were there. At one point we were told our food would be right out, and thirty minutes later we had not received it nor heard anything else. We werent kept in the loop if the kitchen was backed up or if they were running behind, we were entirely forgotten. Finally we had gotten fed up at around 9pm because no one was checking on us, so my little brother went and asked what was going on (was told it would be another 5-10 minutes), and eventually asked for our food to be boxed up instead of brought out. When our waitress came over to talk to us, we had expressed our disappointment with how tonight went and how we saw several tabled get seated, served, and checked out while we were forgotten about. She gave us a half hearted apology and eventually brought our food out in the to-go boxes we asked for. The food itself is good, I dont have any complaints. This was recommended to us by a family friend we were visiting for our anniversary dinner and while we didn't go for our anniversary, we did make sure to stop by before we left. The restaurant was extremely busy when we got there with limited seating and a lot of special birthday type dinners going on, which is always a good sign. We started with the Calamari and the Burrata. My husband didn't understand what the burrata was and the waitress couldn't explain it so the chef came out and talked to him which was neat. The Calamari was extremely well done with the perfect combination of crispy on the outside but tender inside on both the mantle *and* the tentacles, it was even edible cold which for calamari is a feat. The Burrata was also great and it's my understanding they make it in house which is pretty cool as well. I appreciate that with the Burrata they give just enough bread to cheese ratio that you're not left with a plate of cheese or a bunch of bread left over awkwardly after. I ordered the black garlic linguine and my husband ordered the Gnocchi Alla Tirolese. I also ordered the house Limoncello and afterwards a limoncello cocktail. The drinks were ok. It wasn't the best limoncello I've ever had but it was pretty decent and very strong. The cocktail wasn't very balanced and tasted almost the same as the limoncello itself in terms of strength. That said, I really loved the bright yellow appearance of the liqueur and wonder if it had coloring in it or not (I don't care either way I thought it was neat) The black garlic linguine was well cooked and looked pretty, I just think I made a bad choice ordering because it wasn't for me. There wasn't really a heavy sauce or anything just a light oil or pan sauce and the dish just really didn't have any oomph. I used the rest of the lemon from the calamari and salt on top and it made it way better. For someone who likes a very light and subtle meal, this would be perfect but I was expecting more of an in-your-face fermented garlic flavor but as the garlic cloves were kind of just tossed in, it didn't permeate the rest of the dish. Like I said, not bad, just not for me. That said, my husbands Gnocchi Alla Tirolese is hands down the best gnocchi I've ever had and I was so jealous I didn't order it like I was thinking about. I'm assuming they make their own gnocchi or at least order some really high quality gnocchi, but it was cooked to perfection. Like I can not stress enough how fantastic these were. They were firm to the fork and bite and then pillowy soft and melt in your mouth when you ate them. The sauce was absolutely divine as well and the portion was huge, we took half home and ate it the next morning and it was surprisingly just as good. Finally, we ordered a tiramisu which was also fantastic. The ladyfingers were soaked enough to be evenly soft but not mushy, and the dessert had enough alcohol to let you know it was there but not enough to make it taste alcoholic like a lot of tiramisu does. The marscapone filling was fluffy and not too sweet, but I do think there was a little too much of it in lady finger to filling ratio, making the dish gigantic. I still managed to eat all of it because it was delicious and expensive but still I would have been happy paying the same amount for a smaller bowl. Overall, this restaurant is a great place to go to if you're in the area and are looking for a nice night out, just be aware of crowds on busy weekends or holidays. I ate here last week and the food is AMAZING. They had breaded portobello mushrooms that were to die for. This resturant is the closest taste to Southern Italy outside of italy. The pizza was baked in a concrete oven and was juicy when consumed. I have eaten all over the world and this place is by far the best Italian restaurant outside of italy itself. read more

Their pizza, pasta, salad, everything is always wonderful and I have had nothing but wonderful service when I go. this is the absolutely the worse pizza shop i have ever been too. i waited an entire hour before my order was taken. it was really horrible service when my order was taken before others and they were served before me. the pizza was horrible and had a bad taste to it. when i got home my stomach felt horrible and i vomited up the entire pizza with very small traces of blood when i got home and was sick the entire night! i was sick the next day and could not hold down any food without throwing up. the small portion was overpriced. on top of that, this pizza restaurant forced me to pay a tip. i did not like that at all and i felt like i was beng robbed! the place did not look like a traditional pizza shop which was a major disappointment. the prevailing tone of the pizza place was dull and was not kid friendly. in my opinion the ambience was unfriendly which made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy. it was a mistake to go there and i will never go back there again! read more

Went for happy hour/dinner on a Friday night! My shining star was the Sicilian Blood Orange Mimosa! It was divine! We sat outside on the back patio as we had our dog with us and it wasn't a problem at all. This was during the summer just for context. Ordered the calamari which was good. Got the Antipasto salad and it seemed very fresh, loved the house citrus vinaigrette. For my pizza, I ordered the Dante which is a white sauce based pizza as that's what I prefer. They have premade pizzas but of course you can always make your own. The service was good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere inside and outside. There were guests in both places. read more

I took my Step-Mother here today for Mother's Day. The staff was friendly and we were seated right away. The restaurant was packed and we waited over an hour and a half to get our food. I can forgive that considering the occasion. The waitress convinced me that I wanted a sausage to go with my Gnocchi. When I came, the sausage was burnt black. It was just a few steps above charcoal. I was astonished that it was plated. I have a great love for cooking. Had I cooked that sausage it would have gone straight in the trash. I certainly would never have served it to a guest. We were here 2 years ago so I thought I should give an update. We walked in and were greeted by a server, Annette, who showed us to a table and took our drink order. She returned shortly and brought some hot bread, olive oil and our drinks. The bread and oil was delicious. Because of the plastic straw controversy they now serve drinks with a long piece of macaroni. Interesting approach. We decided to order our own pizza, even though one would be big enough to share, so we could take some home and have it later. I got the Eliseo and my wife got the Casanova pizza, both served fresh, hot and delicious. They use a beautiful wood fired oven to cook the pizzas. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was exceptional. We can't wait to go back. read more
