We have high standards and were definitely not disappointed. The pizza here is excellent. the crust is perfectly cooked with the right amount of crispiness. The marinara sauce is perfectly balanced with just the slightest touch sweetness. Salad was delicious with a really light touch on the dressing. For anyone looking for true artisan pizza, Posto is a must. But let me tell you why it's so special to me. Like many, my tolerance to gluten is minimal. I have to be very careful about the dough I consume and how much. Their pizza does not irritate my stomach in any way. This is a sign of quality that I have not found anywhere else and I sure do eat my fair share. Tried to eat at Pizzeria Posto at Eastdale. Does NOT make accommodations for people with a disability. One server said she would clear a table for us. Another server said we could not have that table, it was for 4 people and another table would be ready in 5 minutes. No one else was waiting for a table. He tried to sit us at a tiny table. My wife, who has a disability, asked if we could sit at the other table. Not sure we could be squeezed into that tiny table and we would not be comfortable. Server asked "What's the difference?" If there was no difference, then why not sit us where we asked. And he said it with an attitude. We left, went to another restaurant. We had appetizers and brick oven pizza. Will not name the other place. This is NOT a one restaurant is better than another review. Having come off a recent trip to Italy, I have to say they were comparable or better than what I had there. My boyfriend and I used to live in Rhinebeck and Pizzeria Posto opened soon after we left. That is really unfortunate because if this place had have been there, we may never have left. As real pizza connoisseurs, we were skeptical at first, but that feeling started to fade away as we entered the restaurant through the courtyard and were greeted by a man who warmly says "Get Comfortable". There is a beautiful wood burning brick oven that we didn't remember being in that space before, so we got more hopeful by the moment. I knew right away that the man who greeted us was the owner because of his genuine kindness and care for the cusotmer...from the start. He pointed us to the best table in the house near the window. The menu was simple, just the way we liked it. Simple means there is more focus on the items featured. We didn't need much time to chose the caesar salad the Margherita pizza, the same thing we ate in Italy every day for 3 weeks. The salad arrived and it was great size for sharing. The croutons have just come out of the oven, the salad was perfectly dressed, and there was a perfect balance of cheese. When our Margherita pizza was placed on the table in front of us, our conversation stopped. In front of us was a perfectly crispy pizza that had the perfect blend of the correct ingredients...fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and basil. It was also drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and probably salt because we didn't need to add any. The best part was that there was enough basil!!! Why do so many places go cheap on the basil when it is so plentiful??? Bonus points there. We dove right in and ate the first bite in complete silence and knew right away that this may be one of the best. The sauce was simple the cheese fresh and the basil plentiful. This guy knew how to make a pizza and worked that wonderful brick oven to perfection. We watched people come and go and the owner was so pleasant to everyone. Best pizza I've had outside of Rome, hands down. We've been twice this week on vacation and its that good. We had 4 different pizzas and the arugula salad. All fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked in the wood fire brick oven. Ate inside and out and the service was great. Bathroom was clean which means a lot to me bc that means the kitchen is too. I was traveling for business and our group decided to try it this highly recommended pizzeria. It was slightly far from where we were staying but well worth the drive. I really enjoyed ALL their salads - they were all so unique and flavorful from one another that I had such a good time eating the salads and the pizza hadn't even come out yet ! I can't remember the name of the exact pizzas but we ordered everything on the menu and the one I enjoyed the most was with the pistachio toppings! That was extremely unique and I didn't know what to expect but it was PERFECT! So delicious and crunchy but you still get the full flavor and mild flavor of the pistachio. I need to give the service five stars regardless of how delicious the food was! We had so many (ridiculous, if I must say) questions about the food and everything else. We were also extremely loud in such a cozy and intimate area but the staff was so accommodating and just generally really sweet towards us the entire time. They also stayed open well past their closing time since our taxi haven't arrived yet. Thank you for the great service ! And the last thing to mention - you have to try their dessert !! The two things I look for in a restaurant are good customer service and quality food. It's one thing to possess these qualities but to be consistently with them is another. I have been here six times already and felt welcome every time. The chef comes out to the tables and checks on his patrons quite often. He truly gets the concept of delivering a simple, top quality product, and truly cares what his customers have to say. The Mista salad is always very fresh and I haven't had a single piece of wilted lettuce yet! I say this because mixed greens always tend to turn quickly, especially the red leaf lettuce. Normally I have to pick out a few pieces when I go to other restaurants. The Margherita Pizza is the only one I've tried and that is because it's so good I don't want to try any others! Rule number one when it comes to pizza folks, delicious sauce is a must. I can't tell you how many places don't get the sauce right, it ruins the pizza. They use special San Marzano tomatoes from a specific region in Italy. The crust is always light, crispy, and loaded with flavor. The menu is small and that my friends, ensures quality. I am not terribly experienced in "artisan" pizza's, and I am not from Rhinebeck. However, I am a very experienced PIZZA eater, period, and am from New York City. As a matter of fact, last night I had a very mediocre so-called "artisan" pizza on the Lower East Side. But let me tell you, Posto blew me away. My wife and I had the Margherita substituted with smoked mozzarella and the Terra Bianca. For me, smoked mozzarella is enough to just eat on it's own...but put on Posto's perfectly baked crust...we honestly had to debate ordering a 3rd pizza after that. As for the Terra Bianca, I am not a fan of cheese, but the Grana Padano and Ricotta complemented the blanket of Arugala perfectly.
