This is one of the Honey's and I favorite place for margaritas and fresh guacamole. Their food is always fresh and seasoned well. We started off yesterday as we always do...Cucumber Jalapeño Margaritas. They were on point, as usual. Tortillas that are bought out with salsa when you first sit down, are light and crispy. You receive two complimentary baskets of tortillas. We usually have one with the salsa and one with the fresh guacamole, that is prepared table side. We rounded out our appetizers with Ceviche de Pescado. An exquisite mixture of fresh fish, onions, avocado slices, lime juice and spices! (Chef's Kiss) The Ropa Vieja and Arroz Con Pollo entrees were plentiful and delicious. Flan for dessert and an Expresso Martini... yeah we weren't skimping at all!! Our server Leo was friendly and attentive as are all the servers we've experienced here. Although the place can get quite busy and with live entertainment, the noise levels can be a bit high. We came to Frida's in Seaford for Valentine's Day and had a great experience. The place was packed, but they had everything running smoothly. We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated right away, which was impressive for such a busy night. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially with the strolling mariachi band--it really made the evening feel special. The food was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly, hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The grilled meats were outstanding, and even the rice and beans were some of the best we've had. Frida's really delivered. Went here for the first time. Restaurant was nice inside. Francisco was our waiter and was excellent. We orders two margaritas, one was a virgin. I ordered Birria tacos and wife ordered skirt steak fajitas. We also got fried ice cream for dessert. Food was very good. The bill came to $127 before tax and tip. Total came to $153. I think that's a lot for Mexican food for two people. $31 for 3 tacos, $34 for fajitas, $18 for a margarita and $12 for a virgin margarita. Each fried ice cream was $15. Only complaint about food was the fried ice cream wasn't hot or warm. Not sure if I would go back due to price. read more

At the time of this review I have been to Frida's twice and have thoroughly enjoyed each time. The vibe is very similar to Margarita's cafe and other Mexican spots on the island but this place just sits better with me. The staff is extremely friendly and I feel like there's a good variety of items on the menu. Last time I went with a buddy for dinner and I knew the queso fundido was good but he was just taken back by how good it was. The enchiladas are very filling and of the highest quality. We went to Frida's this past weekend. We have long considered Frida's our go-to spot for Mexican food because of the great atmosphere, excellent service, and reasonable prices. During our visit, we ordered our usual: the Fajitas combo, the Combo plate, and a pitcher of margaritas. We were surprised to find that our bill totaled $125 before tip. Previously, this exact order consistently cost around $85. While I understand that costs are rising generally, a $40 increase--nearly 45%--was unexpected, especially as the portions of included sides like sour cream and guacamole were significantly smaller than before. While the quality and atmosphere remain excellent, the significant price hike makes it difficult for us to justify visiting as frequently as we used to. read more

The place was quiet but my server was friendly and accommodating - opted for the spicy margarita, tasty but I missed not having the tajin you typically see on the rim for these. Tried here because I heard about the Sangria. My favorite place for Sangria closed because the owner retired after many years. Well, the place was very nicely decorated with pleasant music in the background. My Bride and I ordered the Red Sangria right off and "WOW" it was REALLY GOOD! Actually, the best I've had in a long while! The service was very friendly without being overly familiar. Ordered the Empanadas and they were super yummy! The main course for me was Carne Tampiquenas and, boy oh boy, it was excellent! The steak was tender and not overly spicy and the portion was ample! Frida's opened in my neighborhood not too long ago, and I've been meaning to check it out. We came here on a Saturday night, and although we didn't make any reservations, we were seated within a few minutes. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and there's a lot of seating space. I really liked the decor. There are many paintings of Frida Kahlo all over the restaurant. They also had a couple of Mariachi singers go to every table to sing and I thought that was a really nice touch to the vibe of the restaurant. But as much as I enjoyed the atmosphere, I thought the food was a little bland for my taste. There was not a lot of flavor to the beef enchiladas that I had. My wife also thought the same thing about the flautas. We did, however, really like the flan. And my Blue Hawaiian drink was pretty good. read more

They had me at the name Frida. The modest strip mall exterior belies the beautiful setting within. A mural of the restaurant's namesake graces one wall and there's absolutely stunning bougainvillea everywhere. I normally don't love fake flowers but these are lovely and add so much to the space. Banquets line the walls and there are large booths. It was my father's birthday and I was at first a little worried about going out for lunch on Sunday, at prime time Sunday Brunch hour (which I assiduously avoid at all costs), but they were able to accommodate our group of four without a reservation. The place wasn't empty but it wasn't packed with raging brunchers, so... win! While there are no dedicated vegan items on the menu, there is a small vegetarian section that you can request without dairy. I ordered plate that had a guac taco, bean burrito and bean taco. It came with pico and rice and it is simple but delicious. Their pico deserves special mention because it is literally perfect with good tomato to onion and spice ratio. Our waitress was so nice, so attentive and must have overheard us wishing Dad a happy birthday when we toasted over the pitcher of red sangria that we ordered (and by the way, their sangria, too, is perfect, made us all very happy with being just sweet and boozy enough and they do not skimp by packing the ice in). As we paid the check, the staff surprised us with a complimentary cake and shot of tequila. And we died of laughter because Dad is so not into stuff like this, but they placed a huge sombrero on his head and sang happy birthday to him while a staff photographer took photos. They offered the pics framed and yeah, I am one of those people who succumb to this sort of thing when it's awesome. I'm putting Frida's on my regular rotation of places to visit with my family when I'm in town. We had such a great time and the food and sangria is really just... GOOD. read more

We went here for my birthday, on Wednesday in February at around 6:30 PM and had fantastic food and service. We were seated with no wait (due to being a Wednesday in February). We got the guacamole which was good but probably not really worth the $18. And I had the fajitas which were fantastic. I got the taco salad which didn't come with dressing and I thought that was weird. They gave me an option of balsamic, ranch or blue cheese, none of which go on a taco salad lol. They put the lunch price next to the dinner price which is annoying because why am I paying $8 more for the same burrito. The shrimp tacos had plenty of mango and avocado but they were light on the shrimp. The Tampiquena was served with rice and beans and a cheese enchilada. The shell steak was a bit to fatty and rather small for a $27 entree. The presentation was good and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. After reading the Yelp reviews I had high expectations for this place. We arrived early for a concert at Jones Beach, so we decided that a taco sounded like a good idea. Looking at the map, there seemed like a number of options on nearby Merrick Rd, but Fridas stood out in reviews. A short drive later, and we were looking at the restaurant thinking it looked like we had made the right decision - spoiler alert, we had! My girlfriend and I both opted for tacos - she had the classic with chicken, and I had the naked with carnitas. The meat in the tacos seemed very fresh and juicy - out overall impression was 'tasty'. We added a side of street corn, which ai highly recommend and a side of plantain chips. I have had better plantain chips, but they were not bad at all, and I felt pretty sure that they were homemade, so credit for that. All in all, $50 for an early dinner with no alcohol, apps or desserts seemed like a very fair price considering the freshness and great flavors. read more
