I've been coming to this practice for about 25-30 years. I absolutely Love the care & treatment…read moreI've received there over the years, plus all the staff were really really great. Sadly with the passing of Dr. Kanemaki (Lord rest his soul) and the selling of part of his practice, practically everyone there now is new. My 1st visit there last year was because my tooth had cracked and I needed a crown. Thankfully I got 1 out of the 2 original doctors left there treated me, but all the assistance were new. When I went back for the actual crown to be put in the assistant had a hard time getting it to fit right, it took quite a while and quite a few times for her to get it in. After that visit I felt as if my crown didn't feel right but I thought it maybe because I was feeling a little soreness from the amount of tries when putting it in and it being new. Unfortunately my crown continued to not feel right and then a little aching started, and unpleasant pain when chewing. I know I needed to go get it checked out but life got busy and I just delt with it until I couldn't take it anymore. Which brings me to present day, just about 1year after the original placing of my crown. I called and they were able to see me in 2 days. When I got there, once again everyone was new to me, and upon checking in the receptionist said she didn't see that I had an appointment. I explained to her that I had called 2 days ago and was told I could be seen on this day. She proceeded to tell me that she didn't see anything down for me and that maybe I called their other office. I said no, I called the office I'm in right now. Before she could say anything another gal there in the front office (who was on a call but I'm sure she heard everything) she jumped in and said to me "It's okay Ma'am have a seat, we will see you shortly." As I was waiting I was able to observe a few of the office staff and dental assistants doing their jobs, but not one of them looked familiar. When I got called back, there were 2 assistants clearly going back and forth as to who was going to take me (pretty awkward). But thankfully the assistant Floř that I ended up with was very very nice and friendly. I had asked her which doctor I was going to be seen by and she told me Dr. Robin. I asked if the original doctor I had seen last year was available. She said no, he was no longer there that he retired. I was a little sad to hear this news. I asked for the only 1 original doctor left which is Dr. Trent Kanemaki but he wasn't working in that office that day. Unfortunately he only works in the Buena Park office 2 days a week. So I was seen by Dr.Robin, she was very nice and thoroughly explained everything that may have been going on with my crown and what needs to be done to fix the problem. I now need a root canal, she referred me to see a specialist for evaluation & CT scan before proceeding with the root canal which is normally procedure. All in all despite the fact that I need a root canal, I feel good and am satisfied with the service & experience I received from Dr.Robin and dental assistant Floř. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the situation upon checking in. Hopefully everything works out great for my future appointments with ALL the staff there in the Buena Park office.

They are completely dishonest and will straight-up lie to their customers just to line their pockets. It doesn't matter if you have the best dental insurance in the world--expect them to quote you thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for work. They refused to help me with dental work that should have been covered under my insurance plan. Instead, they just tried to push expensive, unnecessary costs and 'premium' material. To make matters worse, while the actual dental work they did perform was decent, the attention to detail and customer care is nonexistent. The crown they put on one of my teeth that I paid a lot of money for, was completely round. It looks absolutely nothing like it did before, and it's not how a natural tooth should look. I am completely unhappy with how shady and dishonest this entire experience was. If you value your teeth and your wallet, stay far away from this place.

This all…read morestarted with a Saturday appointment, which should have been a routine visit but turned into a 5‑hour appointment involving two crowns and a wisdom tooth extraction, and it took eight injections just to get me numb. The crowns were made incorrectly, and I had to return three separate times over the next month to get them fixed. This was not a cheap experience, and the constant back‑and‑forth completely disrupted my schedule. During the first visit, the dental assistant left the cement for the temporary tooth in my mouth for too long, and when she finally removed it, she had to rip it out. It left pieces stuck to my gums, and I was in pain for weeks afterward. Before I left, they almost sent me home without any care instructions for my wisdom tooth extraction -- my husband had to ask for them. I was so overwhelmed and uncomfortable that he also had to drive my car home. I already had plans set for that day, including watching The Odyssey, a 3‑hour movie, and I had to sit through it in pain because I couldn't cancel. The very next day, I had a sushi birthday dinner planned for a friend -- something I organized myself -- and I couldn't enjoy any of it because of the pain and eating restrictions. On the drive home, I cried from how intense the whole experience was and from realizing that my weekend plans -- including eating normally and spending time with friends I don't get to see often -- were completely ruined. I had planned that weekend months in advance, especially because I was put on a two‑week restricted diet afterward. Even the following week, when it was my own birthday, eating any food was still difficult. The crowns were placed on opposite sides of my mouth, which made chewing next to impossible and added even more discomfort. To make matters worse, there was never a manager on‑site at this location. The only manager I could speak to was from a different location, and they told me they would reach out to the main manager to see what could be done for me. Even then, it took two full weeks before anyone finally contacted me. After a full month of traveling back and forth to fix the crowns, the only thing they offered me was a teeth whitening, which doesn't come close to making up for the time, pain, stress, and disruption this caused. The staff was okay, but the overall quality of care, communication, and workmanship were extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this office.

I spoke to Jessica to make the appointment who was super friendly and helpful over the phone. On the day of, I had to call and ask about the parking situation. The back was joined with another office and wasn't well labeled. I didn't want to park and get towed. Back alley was a bit sketchy. The office space is clean, modern and upgraded. However, it was way too quiet (thoughts that came to my head; did I make the right decision to move here; whey isn't there anyone else) and I believe the A/C was off. It wasn't a terribly hot day but stagnant office air is not enjoyable as your are laying in the dental chair. When I went in, I had the pleasure of meeting Lita at the front desk. Greeted me promptly and had me fill out the check in forms. Soon after completion, I was called by Jun to the back for X rays. There was a cool 360 machine That I thought got everything without the bite down traditional x ray images. I was wrong. I sat in the chair next to do the traditional bite down ones. It was a more pleasant experience than usual. Some of my past dentists put it in such awkward positions I've wanted to gag. No gagging here. I soon met Dr. Chris who was overly Informative and easy to talk to. It is uncommon to have a dentist spend that much time with you. I feel like he may have gotten my life information during my hour visit. He explained they usually schedule fist time Patients 1.5 hours in case there are questions or issues to remedy. I was lucky that it was pretty smooth sailing. He showed me how to properly floss which was important for me to improve my future flossing. Their dental cleaning process offered numbing gel which is not usual but I figured I would be a good patient. The numbing gel tasted pretty terrible and I quickly made the mental decision never to do that again. I get the thought process behind it, less pain makes for better customer experience. Just take note it may not be for everyone. I did notice they don't do the gum checks like my previous dentist. He visually inspected it and said it was good. After the cleaning, Jun helped polish my teeth. I also asked for fluoride treatment after since my precise dentist offered this for protection. He said adults don't usually ask for this but he accommodated. He provided me with no eating and drinking instructions to max the effects. After everything was completed, I got a goodie bag with a brush and toothpaste. I checked out with Lita and booked my future appointment. I am still debating if this will be my permanent provider moving forward. Nice group of folks and got me home fairly quick which was nice.

My wife had a few dental issues that needed to be addressed so I wanted to find someone that was truly dedicated to their craft, someone that I would trust with my own teeth. After several recommendations from friends, we decided to make the drive from Las Vegas to consult with Dr. Patuwo. Upon entering the office space, we were warmly greeted by the receptionists. The office was immaculately clean, absolute gorgeous looking space. During the consultation, it became clear that we made an excellent decision with Dr. Jonathon Patuwo. He clearly explained our dental issues in an understandable manner, with visual support by showing us the X-rays on their TV. It was nice to finally have a dentist actually explain our dental problems and not just tell us what we need. We felt very safe with him. Upon proceeding with the dental work, it became immediately clear why the office has their title. Dr. Patuwo has a light, soft touch, while also being meticulous about his work. It was readily apparent that Dr. Patuwo is a very skilled dentist who can perform at a high standard, with multiple different procedures. It is safe to say that we will be returning in the future.
