I love Pan Roast and I love the Oyster Bar in Palace station but there was no way that place would work for our party of 11. I had heard of PK Oyster Bar from a friend and that the Chef actually came from the Oyster Bar. A bunch of us flew in to Vegas and I had made reservations ahead of time for a Friday night. The restaurant décor was pretty cute and I was surprised this place wasn't packed. Our server was Alex and he really attentive and explained all the questions about the menu. Our table ordered Gumbo, Pan Roast, Jambalaya and I seen that they had a Bouillabaisse-Pan Roast (which is one of the most popular items). I ordered my younger kids the fried shrimp & fried calamari basket with fries. The food came out pretty quick. Bouillabaisse-Pan Roast was a level 5. It wasn't too hot and there was a lot of flavors. We decided to dine in on our first night in Vegas. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. The oysters were delicious and tasted extremely fresh. The server brought out a vast variety of different brands of hot sauce for us to try. I love the pan roast combo. The sauce was thick and flavorful with a good amount of protein and seafood. My partner ordered the jambalaya with rice, which I thought was just okay. There was too much rice and barely any protein and seafood. Came in at 11am on a Saturday and the place looked deserted! The parking lot and location is super sketchy looking and the my had a couple of secure guys outside Inside was nice and we were the first customers. Because they don't have a liquor license yet, they allow you to BYOB. The others in my group went next door to the liquor store and bought drinks while waiting for the food. Food was good. It was all cooked fresh. My pan roast is not as good as Palace Station but worth it since no wait and the flavor is there. I only wish it had better seafood in it. Went at 7 on a Sunday for dinner. Was seated immediately as no one else was in the restaurant. Ordered oysters, a Caesar salad, and seafood combo pan roast. The oysters were juicy and didn't have a fishy smell. The Caesar salad was a great portion size, if you add meat it would definitely be enough as a dinner portion. The pan roast was also a huge portion and had plenty of seafood that made for great leftovers, ordered a spice level 6 and it was perfect. Wanted to cap it off with dessert so ordered an apple turnover with ice cream. Unfortunately the apple turnover was still frozen, server kindly removed it from my bill. I love coming here for takeout and dine-in! It's a great alternative to waiting in long lines at the oyster bars in the casinos. They also run great weekday specials and happy hour deals. We came in for brunch and ordered the seafood gumbo, clams in a white sauce and 6 raw oysters to share. This place did not disappoint. Unfortunately, they weren't ready when we first tried to order them. Our waitress let us know that someone had gone out to get more, but she wasn't sure how long it would take. I have been coming here for the delicious house Gumbo or Pan Roast since they 1st opened. The gumbo is not necessarily traditional, but when I tell you it's fire, ITS FIRE! But be careful about the heat level you choose. Last time I came I got the oysters on half shell. To be so far away from any ocean I don't know how they tasted so fresh. As I left a woman walked out with me on our way to the lot and I was bragging on the food. She suggested I try the Voodoo Pasta next time. I told her I'm not a pasta fan, but she swore by it. Turns out she was the owner, Rachelle! She was very sweet and told me next time I come the Voodoo Pasta was on the house. Well here I am and she has now converted me to a pasta lover. Hella good! I much prefer the sourdough bread at Tides oyster bar. Service: we ate early so literally no one else was there and we received very attentive service. People always talk about the pan roast from Oyster Bar at Palace Station in Las Vegas; however, I tend to not want to wait two hours for the dish. PK Oyster Bar in Las Vegas is run by a former chef at the Palace Station Oyster Bar and they make a pretty comparable pan roast for a fraction of the wait. I enjoyed it so much, I came by twice in my last trip to Vegas. I do like some spice and, being conservative, I went "medium spicy". I felt that I could have been okay if I upgraded my spice level. The only drawback is that it's outside of the strip off Sahara Ave and the shopping mall isn't in the nicest location. You can take your order to go and they pack it pretty nicely. We also tried the chicken and sausage pan roast, which had great flavor and was cooked perfectly, though it was a bit tomato-heavy for my personal taste. That said, it was still a satisfying dish. Ritters in So Cal was my go to for Pan Roast but now they are all no longer around. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and had a nice vibe overall. You can tell they take pride in their space and their service. While not a full 5 stars just because of some personal preference on the pan roast, this place is definitely worth a visit. So why the 2 stars? Well let me tell ya the pros first - food is 5 stars! Super flavorful, we tried the pan roasts (10/10) - so much seafood & so much flavor, jambalaya pasta (8/10) - lots of seafood, chowder (7/10) - good but like not the best chowder I've ever had, and fried oysters (9/10) - can't really mess this up. Lots of room & no wait time to be seated. 1/5 stars for the cons - the server we had, she wasn't really able to answer all of our questions. We had asked to be seated at a bigger booth - but she said no because she'd have to set the table, which was a red flag to us. So we just sat at the cramped smaller table that was already set up. The server took our order - we ordered the fried oysters, then my husband & friend ordered their pan roasts first, then like 10 min later I ordered my jambalaya & our other friend who came later ordered the chowder. Our free bread rolls came out, then the oysters came out, then my friend got his chowder (mind you, he was the last to order). Then I got my jambalaya pasta. A whole 30 min passed, not once did the server check in on us, my husband had to flag her down to ask where the pan roasts were...bc it had been a whole hour since him & my friend ordered - the server went to the kitchen to check & it turns out the kitchen missed our pan roast order and the kitchen was making their lunch. There are a number of unadvertised weekly specials available and on this night it was buy 1, get 1/2 off a second seafood pan roast so we said why not? We noted a distinct difference in the flavor from those previously enjoyed at Palace Station, but theirs were quite good as was the service provided by Gregory. Did I mention there was no waiting in line? We will not let its seedy location in the Commercial Center deter us from revisiting this restaurant on our next Las Vegas vacation. The pan roasts are fantastic, served hot and loaded with seafood. Gumbo is of the dark roux variety, the best I've had in Vegas (know that I am a part -time New Orleans resident). Oysters are very fresh and juicy, served old school style with horseradish and cocktail sauce; I would, though, prefer a mignonette. Know these things: 3% credit card charge. No alcohol served, but there is a liquor store right next door. There is a breakfast served. Rolls and butter are fifty cents each. There is a happy hour oyster special, $1.50 each!
