In the middle of downtown Blacksburg is a popular pizza spot. Our group was fortunate enough to snag a table for our other group. The menu has a large selection of pizzas, appetizers, and sandwiches. Their cocktail menu is just as large as the food menu. Lots of craft beers and lots of unusual cocktails. Tonight was double night. Order a cocktail but get double the fun. I enjoyed a Victory craft beer so I stayed safe. The pizza was one of the best pies I've ever gadZ the homemade crust took all the attention. The meat variety was perfect on this pie. Moved to Blacksburg three years ago so first time here. Relatively huge floor space so a hit with college crowd. Waiter brought Mimosa but no glass of water. They must use a fruit mix like orange-pineapple because it was overly sweet. Personal-size "square" of Sicilian-style pizza on thick flavorless bread dough not pizza dough. They are not kidding when they say their Pasta Alfredo is in "Heavy Cream Sauce." It was so greasy I could only eat one-third. Its pasta was over-cooked so mushy. Its two rectangular "rolls" were obviously their "dough" so also flavorless. Caesar Salad dressing was way too thick so way too "heavy." Within two hours I was in the bathroom then took Pepto. Review: Too bland, too flavorless, too expensive. Can't remember when I left so much food on a HUGE plate for a $40 bill plus tip. So no, I will not be going back. read more

Stopped in for a late night meal after hitting the bars and was super glad I did. They have a great drink selection and a large menu. I got the kid's grilled cheese and my girlfriend got the onion rings. The portion of the grilled cheese was great, especially given that it was a kids meal. My only problem with the food was that it was far too salty, especially the onion rings. Our server was great and the bartenders give great recommendations, with an extensive drink menu. The prices are super reasonable, and they have darts and a few pool tables to play on. Definitely more on the chill side as far as college bars go and it's never super crowded. read more

I'll truly never get tired of going to PKs. Every time I come back to visit, it's one of my favorite places to go. Their pepperoni pizza is my favorite - I just love the seasoning they use and the crust. The wing bites are also pretty good - they have 5-6 flavors but this time we got the honey bbq which I love. My family and I have been ordering PK's for years now and have always been satisfied! We particularly enjoy their pizza and Sicilian slices. PK's is located in downtown Blacksburg and has served the town for decades. The interior is welcoming and very laid back. The restaurant itself is quite large and offers an outdoor space around the back. It's a great place to hang out with friends, throw darts, or meet up with a large group of people. Considering it is downtown, parking could be trickier. We typically order takeout and tend to go with their pizzas. Although my sister does really enjoy their burgers as well. The pizzas are your standard bar-styled pizzas. But, they always hit the spot and have the perfect sauce-to-cheese-to-topping ratio. The pizza isn't New York style, but it is usually a thinner crust. The Sicilian slices are always great. The edges are crispy and the dough is pillowy. Overall, PK's is a great restaurant in Blacksburg that serves up some delicious bar food. Their pizzas have never disappointed us and we always enjoy them. The service is pretty quick and friendly as well. The atmosphere is great for large groups and hanging out. Seriously, if you are here on a game day, it probably is tough for the staff. There's a reason for that - this is a darned good place. So yeah, they are probably crowded. We seated ourselves and we're promptly greeted by our server. Drink orders went in and were delivered quickly. For appetizers, we ordered the loaded cheese fries and the nachos. SO good! Both were jammed packed with toppings. Unfortunately, I missed getting a pic before we dug in. The drinks were ON point. Can't remember what everyone else had because I was enthralled with my Raspberry Lemonade! I did sip my son's Coconut Margarita, and it was SO good. It is a varied menu - the younger son had Pasta Carbonara and loved it! Hubby had a Caesar salad with Carne Asada and was thrilled! I ordered the Faculty Street burger - teriyaki glazed and topped with bacon and cheddar. Ordered medium and it was cooked perfectly! And OH MY those onion rings! We haven't eaten at PK's in years and we live in Blacksburg. We decided to go today and we were very pleasantly surprised and impressed. Service was prompt and the server polite and welcoming. Between PKs being 'seat yourself' and it being a very busy football Sunday, I was understanding of needing to clean off our own table. We waited a decent amount of time before just deciding to try and order food at the bar. The bartender was really nice and helped us get food orders placed in a reasonable amount of time given the volume of customers. What I found unacceptable was after returning to our table, we watched for about 30 mins while the three servers checked on other newly seated tables and took orders. We watched the three servers get drinks to other customers and basically never make eye contact with us. When we finally asked one of them (the only guy working as a server that day) for water he eventually put out a Gatorade cooler of water and sat plastic cups next to it but never came back to our table then continued to bring food/drinks to other tables. I understand things being busy and slow, but being the only table not looked at/checked on/offered drinks/ any service by any of the three servers the same way as the other tables after like 40 mins felt like the establishment just didn't want 'us' there so we cancelled our order and left. read more

Let me begin by prefacing that I have worked in the restaurant business for 4 years to date. I have been a host, line cook, expeditor, server, dishwasher and bar-hand; so it is fair to say I know the ends and outs of restaurants. The atmosphere of this restaurant makes it really nice to bring friends to, and I felt comfortable inside. Our experience began with a waitress (who was off the clock) taking our drink orders because our waiter was swamped. I was completely fine with waiting because I understand how it is to have 6-7 tables at one time. My problem began, however, when our waiter neglected our table. Our waiter took our order and abandoned us. We ran out of drinks several times and he never came by to top the drinks or even to inquire how we were doing. The same waitress (who was still off the clock) came by and asked to refill our drinks, which we appreciated very much. Our waiter finally came when our food was ready, but didn't ask us if we wanted anything else, like a refill or side sauces. The food came out fast and it was pretty good, but our server neglected to come back to our table entirely until he brought us our checks, without asking if we even wanted them yet. A table-mate wanted dessert, but he failed to stick around for a mere second after giving us our checks to ask if we were even done eating. He walked away and we were forced to wait another 5-10 minutes before he came back to take the checks from us before she could ask for dessert. When she asked for the dessert, he asked if she wanted ice-cream with it, and she said yes. He went to ring it up, but didn't take the checks that were ready until the dessert came out 5 minutes later, without the ice cream that was asked for. He then again ignored our table for longer until he finally took our checks. In the time that we were here, other tables had sat, ate, and left before we even got our checks when we finished eating ages before we received them. Our server, Chris, completely ignored us for our entire time there, brought out our food wrong and didn't ask if everything was okay, failed to refill our drinks or even ask if we were satisfied with the food or service. We were neglected while he served other tables and looked our direction constantly before looking away again. He failed to advertise specials and desserts, which loses money for the restaurant and also charged us for extra upgrades that we didn't ask for. Came in to this place for a quick nice meal. Upon entering at 6pm we were stopped by a bouncer and asked for IDs(which is odd at 6pm and plenty of children were present). Regardless he marked my hands on both sides and marked my jacket as well... the stain just would not come off. That aside we ordered nachos to share and two quesadillas which were extremely filling. The food came out in the matter of 5/10m which was a huge plus. Overall the ambience and food is very average, however they need to change their bouncer who was extremely rude. I visited this place while in town for a sporting event. I heard their pizza was the best around and it sure didn't disappoint. We ordered the meat special pizza (I forget the exact name). It was very good. We went on a Thursday unknowing the food special for the day is Tijuana Toss: order a large 1 topping pizza & flip a coin for the chance to get your pizza for free. Before Ring Dance at Virginia Tech, my group and I went here for dinner. We had a party of 12 and PK's was the only place that had enough space given the high demand. PK's overall food quality is okay/not the best. I had the shrimp po boy. The meal itself is a little bland but it still had hints of flavor. I got a wrap instead of a sandwich, but I regretted that decision once I saw how large the sandwiches were. It looked like the sandwiches were 2x the size of wraps, and they're the same price. Definitely stick to sandwiches instead of wraps. On the flipside, I really liked their onion rings. People in the group also ordered pizza and other dishes, which looked good! Although my peers may not agree PKs is a fun place! It's not the typical college crowd you find in most Blacksburg establishments. I always have a good time here, there is so much entertainment: pool tables, arcade games, darts and tons of TVs. Deals! The best part of PKs. Wednesday: My favorite night is wing bites night. The wing bites are half off, so dinner is about $4. You can't beat that. The wing bites are like boneless chicken wings but much smaller and served with a toothpick. Thursdays: Tijuana Toss is everyone's favorite. It is always plenty crowded on Thursday night full of people sitting in anticipation to see if they get a free pizza or not. The way Tijuana toss works is you order the large pizza(s) you want and then you eat. Once are sad because the pizza is gone an employee comes over to flip a coin. If you call it right, lucky you, your pizza is free. If you're wrong, you cry, because you're full and you have to pay for the pizza. Surprisingly I loved the pizza. I never ordered it because I hate thin crust and that's what it looks like, it's not at all though. The crust was the perfect amount of doughy while being cooked thoroughly. I am driving from Miami to Toronto, yes this bar was out of the direct pass, but some circumstances altered my route. I have read a bunch of reviews that are negative to this establishment. This is the first time I've been here, and will probably be my last. To be 100% clear not for anything negative, I just don't live anywhere close. There are a lot of negative reviews about service, this bar is popular and many locals go here, that should be all you need to know. I had the chicken cheese steak, it was solid, good not great, but this is pub food, cut the chefs a break. Everything I saw come out looked great. The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and I never was for want of a drink. All these people who are whining about service, need to stop, these are professionals bartenders making things happen. I've heard good things about PK's wings and we certainly were not disappointed. We tried out the Hot, Medium, and Jerk wings which were all great. The Jerk wings in particular had a very nice flavor to them and just the right amount of kick. We also had the meat lovers pizza which was also pretty good. This review would probably be 3 stars or more if it were not for the fact that the men's room here is a nuclear contamination zone. There were 2 urinals bagged up and out of commission. There was about 2 inches of standing water (I hope) in the entire bathroom and a hole in the wall that the smell of raw sewage was coming from. How this bathroom was even open is beyond me.
