I got the strawberry foam cold brew (a seasonal item) and it was so delicious! The coffee was very smooth and the strawberry was a very fun addition to the drink. We came on a Sunday early morning and the staff were super friendly and attentive. The barista even left a cute note on each of the cups, which felt like such a nice personal touch. So we decided to try this newer place out, I will say coffee tasted good, but unless you say light ice on an iced drink they are going to overfill that cup with ice. For near 8$ a coffee probably won't be back as it wasn't a real lively place. read more

While in the area we tried several different coffee shops. We found Placer Roasting to be very clean and well-kept. The young lady at the register was very patient and helpful with our questions. The have a nice variety of pastries, but since none were gluten-free, we weren't able to try any. The drinks we ordered were quite good. They do have alternate milks here. read more

Believe it not, this place came up as a recommendation on IG. Tucked away in the parking lot near Mario's early toast and across from Safeway, you will find Placer Roasting Co & Oh boy! This place is top tier. Absolutely loved their Valentine's Day menu! I enjoyed the strawberries and cream cold brew while catching up with a friend and a almond poppy seed muffin! The drink was $7 and the muffin was $3 and both were 10/10. On the way out I decided to order a chocolate covered strawberry mocha and.. it was even better than the cold brew! I think I found my favorite coffee joint. Sadly for me it's 25 mins out of the way. The service was great! Everyone was kind and the coffee came out quick. I visited the coffee shop for an espresso. They served their roasted Ethiopian and Guatemala blend. The espresso was nicely balanced and had not sharp bitterness. It was smooth to drink. It had more darker roast tasted, but was most probably a medium roast. It had more Latin America beans taste than Ethiopian. It was bit more on the bitter side than sweet and floral although it had these flavors, too. I can imagine this working in any milk based coffee drink perfectly and bit less as espresso on its own which is very usual choice by coffee shops serving one roast at the time. This is artistry west coast style coffee shop, not Italian style. The service was very quick and very polite. There wasn't a queue on the Saturday that I visited. They had good area for sitting inside and enjoying your drink, work or have a conversation. Extra bonus for the espresso: they provided a full bottle of quality sparkling bottle with the espresso! read more

We finally made the trek out here from Elk Grove, only to find that they were out of apple cider syrup so I couldn't try any of the apple cider drinks that I was hoping for! We tried some of their other specials instead - the pumpkin spice latte and the salted caramel latte. The pumpkin spice latte was pretty basic and wish it had some kind of whipped cream or cold foam. I preferred the salted caramel latte instead, the sweet cream cold foam was perfect thickness and sweetness, and the sea salt added extra depth on top of that. It's a decent size coffee shop but we came on a Tuesday morning and I think they are next door to some kind of gym or workout class because the music was blasting next door, which kinda ruined the ambiance for the coffee shop unfortunately. Which is a bummer because they have a great little kids area with a chalk board, coloring books, and a play barista station, so it's somewhere I'd want to hang out without the loud music. It was probably just bad timing and I'm sure it's much more peaceful when there isn't a class going on! Service was very friendly to us and everybody who came through. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be looking forward to trying that caramel apple latte! read more

This was the perfect spot for a weekend meet up with my BFF and our kids. Placer Roasting is very kid friendly with a toy coffee station and an easel with chalk and markers. I brought coloring books and crayons that were completely ignored! The coffee is strong and very good. I ordered the special salted caramel latte and the caramel did not over power the coffee flavor at all, very well balanced. I also ordered a "kidccinco" for my girls, which is steamed milk, with choice of flavoring, and whipped cream with sprinkles. My girls loved the chocolate one and drank it all. For a Sunday morning, there was a steady stream of customers and lots of kiddos. The coffee is good and strong but the service is very low energy. A person who seems to not have customer service skills or doesn't care or does not like her job. I really wanted to support this local place cause it's close to my house but because of the service I will not recommend. There was also a gentleman there who wanted to buy coffee beans and asked some basic questions but the person behind the counter had no clue and didn't care - you could tell. I am so happy that our county now has a local roaster. Both Katy and Sean are incredibly nice people, passionate about coffee and the source, and very community and family oriented. I really hope that this local roaster does well because there is a need for this type of community oriented business in our area that is filled with strip malls and generic cafés. I see that some of the reviews on here Talk about their flavored drinks, and sweet drinks, which they likely have to do to "fit in" with this American suburban culture, but I know that this roaster is more about the science and art of roasting coffee, the flavors, the undertones. So I hope a place like this can survive in rocklin. Please make them a visit and support them, they are doing this for great reasons And really looking to add a lot to the community. I love it. Such a cute spot! We were passing by on our way back home from Tahoe and needed our coffee fix. The baristas were so nice and patient with my family and gave the best recommendations! I got their drip coffee and if u know anything about coffee, it was so flavorful and the aromas were stunning!! My mom got their holiday drinks and she said it was way better than Starbucks lolol. My aunt got the salted caramel with almond milk and she said it was 10/10. My uncle got the caramel macchiato with cinnamon and almond milk and he said it was exceptional! This is by far my favorite coffee shop I've ever been too. The decaf roast has the best naturally nutty/creamy flavor I've ever had. I love that you can also buy the coffee beans to take home. All of the baked goods are delicious as well. None of the baked goods are ever dry. Also love that the ambiance is very welcoming and calm. The theme is really cute and warm with comfy seating. They have an easel for kids to draw on, which makes it a perfect spot for parents. The employees are also very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about their work. Best coffee shop/roasting company!!! The coffee seemed pretty good, hard to tell in a flavored latte. There was only one roast option available for a regular coffee which was disappointing because it would have been nice to try more out. The service is what was the most disappointing! We were not greeted as we came in, the barista just continued to work on another order and did not acknowledge us as we stood at the checkout. As a new coffee shop, who also roasts their own beans, it would've been nice to have better customer service to welcome us in and for someone to explain what kind of blends they offer especially because it was our first time there.
