It doesn't look like much when you walk inside, but I can see why it is a lot of local's favorites. The side of potatoes are really buttery and good. Their gyro sandwhiches / platters are really good as well. It is what you imagine gyro platters would be , comes with a simple side salad / fries. In my opinion, it's not anything extravagant but it is a local spot and it's easy to order food and the service is pretty quick. First off - order the FRIES! They're made fresh for each order and taste so good! But I couldn't just eat the fries alone, so I ordered the chicken souvlaki. The food was very satisfying, however, I think it's kind of overpriced. My souvlaki, fries, and soda cost about $13. But I guess that's fine because it was very flavorful! I saw most people taking their orders to go or picking up, but there are four tables to eat in as well. It's located in kind of a busy intersection with a small parking lot, so you'll have to be patient with finding parking. As for COVID precautions, they have tabled spaced six feet apart, staff wore masks, and hand sanitizer was readily available. I will definitely be coming back here to try one of their main entrees (and for the fries of course)! Pretty disappointed honestly... this is my second time eating here and I don't plan on coming back. We bought 2 bowls and a side of fries for a total of $45. The bowls barely had enough meat to get us through 1/4 of the rice even though we paid for extra meat. You have to pay for each topping the bowl otherwise would just be meat and rice. The meat was over cooked. They are so STINGY with the topping even though you pay $10 just in toppings. The pictures I've attached shows how much rice is left after eating the small amount of meat that comes with. This is our favorite Greek restaurant in the area, we get take out from here frequently and always look forward to it! When I moved to the area from DC, I missed Souvlaki, my go to Greek place which was a stone's throw from my Dupont apartment. But I was delighted to discover Plaka! My go to order is the falafel wrap, and the Tyrokafteri dip, which is unbelievably good - creamy, tangy and salty with the most delicious fresh pita bread on the side. My husband loves the chicken souvlaki wrap and their Tzatziki. Their bowls are generously portioned and the fries and salads are excellent too. Service is always prompt and courteous when we dine in, and staff are super friendly and warm. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, we love it all and so will you! read more

I got the Chicago-style dinner, which is a hearty helping of nicely browned gyro meat on a bed of salad. It came with a few (nice, warm) pita triangles, but I would have appreciated a little bit more pita. I got the lemon and rosemary potatoes as a side, which were large chunks of roasted potato rather than the wedges I had expected. They could probably have used a little more seasoning, but were otherwise very tasty. Everyone else got gyro wraps with fries, and they were all very happy. Plaka is amazing. I wish we had one in Fairfax. Plaka will forever hold a place in my heart. After having my first dog for a week, with severe illness, not eating, and being in and out of the vet, my dog dragged me to Plaka's tent at the Vienna Oktoberfest. All she wanted was one of their chicken skewers. She may have had two or three. The first thing she held down. I have to say I was hooked as well. Best Greek place. I have been to this place twice in the past and remember food to be quite good. Today I was in the area and decided to grab a grilled veggie wrap to go. First, I paid over $16 for a wrap and a water. Since the sandwich was $8.50. I gather i was charged over $5 for the bottle of water (regular size, from their fridge). I did not say anything thinking small business and all.. But now that I actually ate the sandwich.. it was meh. Grilled veggies had no flavor, no char.. just tasteless mush. The only flavor (if any) came from tzatziki. Threw out half of this disaster. Hands down one of the best gyro I've ever had. This is my go to place for lunch in Vienna. Get here before the 12 lunch crowd to score a seat. It gets packed! There's a bit of everything for every taste. I love the salads with gyro. When I'm in the mood for a bit of indulgence, their bowls are AMAZING. Plaka Grill is my favorite spot for great gyros. My family and I come here often when we're in the mood for something fast and casual to eat. We mostly come here for the gyros. I get the Chicago gyro which is a mix of beef and lamb. It's fulfilling and the mixed meats goes really well with the tzatziki sauce. The signature Plaka gyro is a really good try as well if you're not sure what to get. I highly recommend "Plaka styling" your gyro since the fries-in-the-gyro combo goes really well with each other. The restaurant has decent parking and the restaurant itself is a bit medium-small in size, so it's a hit or miss depending on the time. It does get busy during the dinner rush, so I highly recommend calling ahead if you want quick pick up. Though, they are fast in preparing your order. The rice pudding (rigalo) is no different than other rice puddings I have had. It just seems to have cinnamon added. The chicago gyro and bifteki are pretty good. I tried the pastitsio but had to toss it out after only a couple bites. It is stuffed with tomatoes or something else which gives it a sweet and odd flavor that doesn't go well with the pasta and beef- I wish they would state what it's stuffed with upfront and allow it to be made without that filling. The galaktaboureko is also good, it is similar to something like a cream filled baklava, but it has an orange glaze syrupy on it which sets it apart. read more

Must go place in Vienna. I was wanting to try this place for so long and finally was able to try it. This is a small place, not very crowded. This is self service place, so you go upront and order it. We are vegetarians and they have couple of options for vegetarians which was great. We ordered zucchini and falafel wraps with a side of fries. Food came out pretty fast. Both the wraps were delicious. Falafel was crispy and the white sauce in the wrap was good too.
