Came in on a Friday to get a spray tan for an event on Sun. This was my first spray tan with Planet Beach. I usually go to Aqua Bliss but my friend had a Groupon so I figured I would join her here. They were having a special One spray tan for $30 or 2 for $60. I only needed one for the weekend so I opted for the $30 one time only offer. The woman who helped me was very nice and helpful. After I was done getting sprayed and drying off I guess I should of just stood there for awhile and not towel dryed off because the next day I realized that you could see where it dried where my bra straps were. I was kinda bummed since my dress was strapless but I figured maybe I'm the only one that will notice. Overall I would come back if I need a fast quick tan but I'll keep going to Aqua Bliss because they actually air brush you with the tan and then use a spray that dries you quickly so you don't have marks like I did. read more

So this place sold I don't like to bash people places but all I can say is wow, they have changed nothing but good things but the way business is done is horrible new owner is in there they jacked up prices without members being aware no contract they just said they were switching names! I honestly only came there because the manager just was down to earth and she loved honestly everyone in there it was like a whole thing in there! I will not be walking back in, as I have heard a lot of people are not pretty sad! What they did to the girl that was working there they should have kept her, dumbest thing they could have let go, she had customer service and knew the people there! The new owner only talks to who she now's it's pretty sad made me sit over to the side while she was ranting with someone else! The only way this place is going to make it happen honestly is if they get Jade back! It's sad to say but she made the place feel like something that can't be changed! read more

Online, it says that Planet Beach is still operating under the name Planet Beach, even though the name has already been changed on the outside. It also says that it offers all sorts of services, which is a complete lie. Everything in there is broken. Nothing works. The spray tan machine was the worst in my life. Red light facial light broken. The massage chair, one of the worst that chair should be tossed out. It's safe to say nothing works there now. Let's talk about the new owners. They took over the place. Yes, their remodeling it. They have no sign outside. Letting people know that they are going through a remodel that the building will be closed through such-and-such dates, which is extremely inconvenience for some of us. I have a schedule.... currently, going through my credit card company. Because they overcharged me a couple times brought that up to their attention. They told me that they are not responsible for that. But that I can contact planet beach in mantica, in regards of the double charges. Nobody wants to take responsibility for what they've done on another note. There is a lot of other people staying with them and they are not willing to grandfather them in as they should. But young ladies said is that the prices will be going up? Because they are getting new machines. So they are upgrading the building. But us the customers are getting the s***** end of the stick. I am sure my credit card company has gotten ahold of them and they are giving them the runaround just like they do to their customers. This is a honest opinion from a customer of planet. I've been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff is so sweet and helpful and the lobby is adorable to wait in. The red light therapy along with the hydro bed are so relaxing! I love the fact that they have hot worx so I can get a quick workout in and then do the red light therapy to help my muscles recover quicker. They clean the equipment in between people so it's clean for the next client. You can walk in and most of the time there isn't a wait but I love the fact that you can also schedule your desired service so it's ready if you just wanna come in during your lunch. read more

I've been coming here for the last 10 years, love the girls that work here , Jade is awesome. I pay a monthly fee for unlimited tanning. The bulbs are burnt out and the beds are constantly broken and run down. As a customer, I am paying for a service, therefore everything should be up and running and in working order. I do notice when I go into Planet Beach business is slow and due to the aforementioned it doesn't surprise me. If you are looking for quality tanning beds and consistency, I would definitely say go elsewhere. I hope this review brings the needed attention to the owner of this establishment. read more

Place is dirty. Service is pretty good. Girls are nice, but you can tell they are young. I've gone twice at 10 and the store was not open when that is the time is says it open. I bring my own cleaning wipes to wipe things down before I use any of the beds. Wish the owner would put a little time into training the girls that work there how to clean, show up on time and put some money towards new towel, repainting & fixing up. Wow. Got a free spa day pass ! And they let me do all 5 spa things Hydration thing was great... But not for big chest or plus size people... I didn't realize til o read sign on wall when leaving... I got out early because my stomach and chest got burnt. But its alright. The back roller felt amazing and staff was right on when they said relax or it hurts ! Def true... Deep breaths. The light facial with massage was perfect as well as lay down light therapy. And Sauna was adorable and yesssss you sweat. Haha. But had a great time ! read more

I called Planet Beach on Standiford about 3 days prior to going there to get a price on ymthe spray tans. I've never had one. We were going to leave for Great Wolf Resort & Waterpark the day after I was sprayed. The price was double what was quoted to me on the phone but oh well... I didnt say anything. When it was done, I came home. 4 hours later I could see that my arms & face were slightly stan looking but not my legs. After 5 hours I called them. Basically she told me that it could take overnight (I didnt believe that) Anywho... The next morning, I just used some Sally Hansen Airbrush spray tan that I already had. I should have used that & saved myself $60.00!!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!! Hope you all have a great day read more

RUDE & DIRTY! I am not a big tanning person or Groupon person for that matter, but I thought maybe I'd try it for my trip. I've been to Planet Beaches in other towns before and they were super nice. I purchased 2 Groupons for this Standiford location, one for tanning and one for spray tans. There was a blonde girl that helped me on my first visit, Brittany I think, she was super nice and helpful and made suggestions for how long I should tan for. She was great! On my second visit, another girl, gave me a sideways look and explained that "I am not ALLOWED to buy 2 Groupons to use at her location"... I was shocked to find out that this girl was the manager and furthermore that she would scold me for my audacity to bring her business; because it was via Groupon (which I thought was the point of Groupon...) Anyways, I revisited on another day and the snappy manager girl told me that my Groupons had expired already, when another worker had just recently told me that my tans wouldn't expire for months. So the same manager girl extended them for me but when I came back to use them, she told me that they had purchased new beds, so those credits were no longer valid anyways. HOWEVER, she was kind enough to call the owner and made me an offer to pay for more tans to get more free... I think not! I was only able to use 3 tans out of my 10 tans and 1 of my 3 spray tans! Needless to say I was super disappointed when I had planned to use the spray tans before my trip to SoCal and was unable; even though they were previously paid for. The location was dirty and the manager was super rude. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning. I highly recommend going... ANYWHERE ELSE. Like Pacific Tans... Wow I had gotten spa package from Groupons but never used so I use for my first spray tan. Very nice girl when I got there, told me all instructions. And I love it, it took more time to put clothes on then the actual tan. It was just perfect not to light and not to dark, you really can't go wrong with nice people is a big plus in my book and great tan. I am totally going to recommend to all. read more

Kaiti is the best! Made my whole experience amazing. Let me try a couple services for my first time and I ended up purchasing some really amazing products. This place has really good groupon deals so check that out before you come in to save some $$. That's how I heard of this place was groupon. Customer service is better that most spas I've been to including Burke Williams which is way more pricey! read more

I went in and used a groupon for a spray tan me and a girl friend both got one... we asked for dark..... girl said it would take a few hours to develop... ok cool that's fine!... I wait over night... literally, no color!! I had a streak on one arm... and on one leg... a splotch on my elbow... I couldn't believe it!?!? I have been told by the employee that the minimum contract is 6 months but, if you move out of Modesto the contract will be canceled with no more charges, so I moved out of town but they keep charging me for 2 months, when I contact them the Manager said " No, we will not refund you for those 2 months" So I do not recommend you to go there and sign the stupid contract. There is many place with same price, same or batter quality with no contract. read more

I love everything here but my favorite is the UV therapy bed (I call it the red light bed). I come 4-5 times a week and I lay in it for 15min each time. My skin feels so soft, tight and looks a lot healthier. read more

First and last time here! I bought two full spa treatments for my mother and I and I was pretty disappointed. First and foremost one person is not enough to run the entire place especially on a Saturday! The poor girl was so sweet and friendly and was constantly running around trying to accommodate all the guests. She really wasnt able to explain what each machine would be doing or what we should be prepared for. Secondly the place seemed so unhygienic! EW! I'm getting grossed out just thinking about it! Why would anyone put a strip of cheap carpet in the sauna and WHY were there yellow stains on it??? The poor girl ALSO had to do the cleaning (sort of, I saw her with a towel and spray bottle in the hydration chamber). The light capsule had obviously not been cleaned since it left the manufacturer and honestly the entire experience left me wishing we had gone next door for a massage instead. read more
