Very busy gym, and sometimes you have to wait for equipment to use. For the most part that was not an issue. However, members are starting to "reserve" machines. They will leave their phone, water bottle or other items while they go use another machine. The other day I went to use the Fly machine and someone came up to me and said that they were using the machine. They had not left any of their stuff on the machine. Went to the staff and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. Another member was complaining how people will take over machines and spend more times on their phones then working out. We are staying on the side of town for a few days and always scope out the closest planet fitness so we can continue our workout routine. This one is just 3 miles from where we're staying. We've been twice now and so far we've been able to find the machines we need plus, we were pleased to find a lateral arm lift machine that we don't find in too many other PF's. The staff have been friendly when we've checked in as well as the place is super clean. They do have lockers with built-in rotary combinations that have worked well for us. I love that they have the new functional room where you can actually have a spot to do a full Matt routine along with the various balls and weights and such for functional training. Super helpful. Not my home club - here while traveling. Primarily do treadmills and appreciate that they are in excellent condition and clean. Love the huge ceiling fans that help keep me cool! Every time I visit the restrooms and locker room are super clean and smell fresh. Also notice that folks consistently clean equipment after using; not the case in other clubs I've been to. I have been taking classes with Jade the trainer at this club and can honestly say that of all the trainers I have worked with she has been the most encouraging I have had. She takes the time to go over your goals, any physical limitation, or medical conditions and designs a program that is for you.She is one of the very few trainers I have worked with where I am motivated to keep working at achieving my goals. read more

My husband is a black card member and wanted to take me with him to use the back card spa. Well, at this location half of the services are not allowed for guests. Other locations allow it as it part of the unlimited guest perk. The Young men at the counter just claim the manger made up the rules. I dont know, and feel it is false advertising. The new layout of the club is awful! They took away the 30 minute express workout room, which I loved. There is no area for those less comfortable to work out than in the big room with everyone else. The little rooms were the best. Do not like the new physical changes. They moved around all of the cardio equipment for no apparent reason. I come into this location at around 3-4am almost everyday. The gym is always very clean and the staff is always very friendly - especially this employee named Al. He always greets customers with a smile, is very attentive when someone needs help, and is always leaving the gym spotless! He also knows the names of some of the customers, including mine, by heart which is very much appreciated! My first day back and I was super excited I walked in feeling pumped. I was on the elliptical when I got a phone call. I answered it not knowing we are not allowed to talk on our phones, been coming for years and never did I know, DJ, a worker comes up and starts yelling at me to get off my phone. I said excuse me? She replies you have to leave if your gonna be on your phone? I said leave?why since when I've Been coming here for years! She said years? And you still don't know you can't be on your phone. Wow, you need to take your call elsewhere. I honestly felt so embarrassed mortified. I asked her to please leave me alone. She continues to walk to the front desk, I am behind her to talk to a manager, not even seconds after she made a scene and starts talking crap about me. She doesn't realize I'm behind her and I about lost my mind. I was so mad and hurt and I started crying!! Not what I expected on my first day back!! So disappointed!! This is DJ everyone. The downfall in which why I only gave 2 stars is I got COVID from this gym and I got sick 2 more times after that, all within 6 months. Yes, I do believe it was from here. I work at home and I was the only one in my household who got it. They keep it way too warm inside which doesn't help when it comes to germs. This is the Planet Fitness that my membership is based out of. It is a good gym, close to my home. I liked the proximity to the home, and the fact that the staff here is good. I especially like the advice given to me by the trainer. Now, only if I can lose weight by December 2019. I need to lose at least 15 pounds. I have been diligent in coming in and exercising per the appropriate regimen. About the only bummer here was the fact that it was recently closed for a renovation. They did a good job. Planet Fitness is a solid gym. I had/have a few issues and suggestions that I wish were better but overall this place is pretty sweet. 1) When I first signed on I asked the employee if he personally worked out here and if he recommended it. He flat out told me, he works out at Lifetime Fitness and has only used the PF facility a few times. Um, okay. 2) It's $10/month to join but they did try to charge me $20 for a 1 day pass to try it out. (Because that makes sense) 3) The men's restroom/locker room only has 2 stalls. For a good sized gym, you have to wait to use the restroom if the gym is busy? It's a major design flaw. 4) I wish there were 3-5 additional adjustable benches near the dumbbell area. 5) During busy hours, the gym smells like feet. Reminds me of my high school locker room. Now on to the positives: This gym is super clean! I can't speak for during the day, but at night the cleaning crew is working hard and the place is spotless. However, the men's restroom floor is never swept. Planet Fitness really does everything right. Their "no intimidation" motto turns off the meatheads and grunters. There's none of that here which I love! The employees are nice and not pushy. Without the black card membership, the $10/month is amazing! If you go 3-4 times a week, you are paying less than a dollar per visit. Can't beat that. They also have a good selection of equipment and a ton of cardio machines. There are no hidden fees or troubles with billing that I've run into. They are up front about what to expect. $10/month, no commitment. $20/month (black card) with a 1 year commitment. Black card includes perks such as tanning, massage beds, you can use any PF location in the United States and you can bring 1 guest with you each time you go for free. That's an amazing deal. I personally have the $10/month. The gym is also open 24/7 which took the cake over the LA Fitness near my house that closes in the evening. I can go after work late at night and the place is dead! Perfect! I love Planet Fitness thus far and I would recommend this gym to anyone looking for a nice, clean, stress free place to work out. read more

All employees were chatting at the front desk, i wasnt able to change something on a piece of equipment. I couldn't get an employer to help me, but one of the members did. That was extremely embarrassing and something i was told that you always walk around to help members. I'll just see about another gym that has a pool with water aerobics and pay twice much. Fairly clean, although floors in corners could use more attention. I cleaned up the floor before my mat work. The WIFI does not work, which means you have to use your own data, or work out to the canned music. I brought this up with the staff on 3 different occasions, and got a variety of explanations, none of which I believe. I was told they were having problems with it, that it was blocking YouTube and Twitter, that the QR code needed to be reinstalled on my phone (already done, but I re-reinstalled it), and that they would be bringing the issue up to their manager later that day (Thursday, October 21, 2021). I personally think they are skimping on contracted services, since this has not been corrected in over a week, and I get a different explanation each time). Some equipment is broken, so you may need to try a few different ones to get one that functions properly. The shower and locker rooms were cleaned very well. No extra room or seating in private to get changed, so you have to balance to change in private. Overall, it's an ok place to work out. Dont recommended showering there if you have both balance and privacy issues, although very sanitary in these areas. read more

I use to work for this location in August of 2022 not only did they not make me a Team member account but I was getting charged club fees working there and never got refunded. I ended up quitting because of the lack of training I was provided. The management was horrible and took their team members as jokes. When I quit they had reopened my original account that they were suppose to close out and added my card information without my consent and charged me for another club fee on 9/19/22. I called to resolve this issue and he acted rude, irresponsible and inconsiderate on keeping his word to refund me for the 8/17/22 club fee when I was WORKING there. Is this the kind of manager you want to represent a corporation? I know I wouldn't. I am already seeking legal action to sue since Andrew N (club manager) did not want to own up to his mistakes and resolve it. It's also funny that the club doesn't open till noon sometimes because no employees want to show up for shifts, which I wonder why lol the club members that work out there in the morning know the store code to get the key and open the facility on their own . The labels on the chemicals use to sanitize or clean are mislabeled and it's dangerous to be wiping down machines with heavy duty floor cleaner. The lockers rooms are never cleaned properly due to the improper training the manager provides. I will never recommend this gym to anyone and will be talking to others to quit before it's too late. Very sad. The manager Alvin is a poor excuse for a manager. Rude, sarcastic and apparently he doesn't know how to speak to a customer that is very upset and hurt by this company. How can you keep the same policies through COVID and when someone has an injury, everyone's life is different and difficult. He wouldn't allow a refund when I clearly don't use the gym and have my own means now since they closed down. Aside from that, I couldn't even explain how a wrist injury has caused me turmoil for months and prevented my workouts. He judged me for having an opinion and was sarcastic and told me to "go have a good workout" after I cancelled my membership and he denied a refund. I am embarrassed for the owner! I have been a supporter of PF forever. Not anymore. I was accused of being hostile for having an honest opinion. Just sad. read more

Nice location machine wise and customer wise. However I was recently working out here and they posted a marketing poster right in the center of a workout mirror in the dumbbell section. I removed the posted so I could see myself working out. At multiple other locations I have been to that poster is posted in the corner of the mirror so it didn't interfere with you working out but not here. I got a call later that day from the rude store manager Andrew Navarro about canceling my $25 a month membership for the past 4+ years because I removed a $.50 (about the Blackcard which I actually have) poster that was in my way when actively working out. He lied and said I wasn't even working out in front of the poster when I was. We had to go to this location because our planet fitness is being upgraded so we weren't aware of any rules or any differences of our planet fitness and the one we went to on Broadway! First off it took the manager about 10 minutes to explain to us where the locker room was when it was just all the way down to the left, her employee had to jump in and help her explain! WOW! This is the manager mind you! The locker room they were explaining how to get to for 10 minutes was one of the bring your own lock lockers, they explain to us that they don't have the same lockers that we used at our Planet Fitness. Which how are we supposed to know that. We drove 20 minutes to get here! The only accommodation they offered us was selling us a lock! We asked if we could just keep our car keys at the front desk for safekeeping which with the circumstances of our situation I thought would be acceptable even if it's against the rules maybe make the exception and let us know that tomorrow will have to bring a lock which is totally understandable! But they refused and said they're not responsible for our belongings! We couldn't believe their attitude towards us so we let them know we were going to leave bad reviews and tell all our friends how they treated us here and they actually encouraged it that's when we found out the lady was the manager! Now we have no gym to go to for a week till ours is done being upgraded. This makes us really appreciate the employees at our planet fitness on alma school. We are regulars and have a good relationship with everyone at our location but we were treated like our business meant nothing to the broadway location! I am a 68 year old that found out his body is slowly falling in disrepair and needs a minor tuneup. I recently had the opportunity to visit you facility in Mesa, Arizona. Being reluctant, I spoke with Alexandra Vega, asst. club manager, and to my surprise, I was not just welcomed but she spent time with the programs and equipment. Without putting Alexandra and Julie Bollero on a pedestal, I am now a Black Card member. I find that this is something I will be passing on to all my veteran friends so they too can get back into a somewhat strong body. Just as a thought, why don't don't you offer a morning function "Coffee Gathering" where veterans can come in and see what you offer. I absolutely love the staff here!! I started my journey here and wish I didn't have to move to another state. I miss having such helpful and kind staff. The staff absolutely helped me feel comfortable enough to work on building some strength back in my legs and loose some weight. A lot of weight. With my anxiety, it is a struggle to make myself go in public places. The gym is calm and everyone is so nice that I lost 70lbs. You guys rock and I miss seeing ya'll everyday! My new Planet Fitness is dirty and the staff seems bored all the time. I miss the cleanliness of the gym too!! At my new Planet Fitness, It makes my anxiety so bad going in, I might have to find another gym. There is not another PF anywhere near me. Among the half of treadmills that are open, half of those are broken and no one is fixing them. Have been broken for weeks so far. I had to try 5 treadmills last week to find one operating properly. Staff just stands behind the desk texting all day. Also plenty of patrons not wearing masks and there is no sanitization happening at all. Get it together PF. Send a crew to fix equipment ASAP. This location rarely hires kind individuals with customer service skills to work the night shift. If you're the kind of person who likes employees to smile and give you a reasonable amount of recognition when you nod and say hello, this isn't the location for you. In the few interactions I've had with the girl who works weeknights she's come across as curt and rude, and I don't get the impression she views club members as equals. To be honest she appears more concerned with counting the minutes before she can go home. This location, like the others, has switched to limited hours since COVID, which is a decision I can't quite wrap my head around. Instead of coming late at night or in the early morning when there are only a few people in the building, you're forced to come in at the same time as everyone else--effectively guaranteeing you'll be working out in a crowded gym. Oh, and keep in mind you'll still be paying the 24-hour prices. On a final note, I haven't noticed an increase in cleaning since the pandemic started. In fact, I've yet to witness any cleaning whatsoever, and I've noticed on multiple occasions they don't wipe anything down before leaving for the night. Obviously I'm not privy to their exact cleaning regimen, but it's probably something you should ask about before signing up. read more

This place is really great to come and work out and get in shape. They have lots of different machines and something for everyone. I highly recommend you come and just work out even if it's just 10 minutes and after awhile it turns into a habit and it becomes something that you just do. Try to increase your times. Your health and your fitness is important!! Take charge of your health because this is something you can control. It's wonderful to see your body get toned and fit and to be able to last longer on the cardio machines. As you start to weight train you start seeing your muscles get definition. read more

THE MOST SHADY. A month after I signed up they charged me an "annual" fee of 40$, and when I signed up I paid the monthly fee and the sign up fee of 50$. They claim they are budget friendly, but they just get you with hidden fees. I asked if they would reverse it since I'm a student and they refused because it's in the small writing. I'm a 57 year old woman that has wanted to join a gym for quite sometime now but was afraid of the atmosphere of most gyms. This place is PERFECT! My husband and I have been going now for a month and we both have lost 10 lbs, toned up and feel great. I have felt comfortable there since the day I walked in. I hear the price is very good for a gym, but honestly, I would pay much more just to be able to walk in and not feel uncomfortable. I did get the cheaper membership as I was skepticle, but I will be up-grading. We love it, love it, love it, and thank you Planet Fitness for saving our lives or at least adding a few more years to them. As for the review that states "The whole "non-judgement zone" is kind of dumb considering its a gym and we all judge".... No we don't all judge. I price checked all the gyms in east Mesa. This one is awesome. Everyone comes here from really fit people to really old. No one judges and it feels extremely comfortable. I have never belonged to a gym (or really ever been in one unless you count the YMCA when I was 16) so I came with a friend to check it out. We came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty empty. There were four staff members behind the counter which seemed a little excessive but they were friendly and seemed to recognize my friend. The facility is super clean and there are tons of machines. For never being in a gym I was immediately put at ease and felt comfortable. It was nice to have a friend show me around and was patient so I could read the instructions on all of the machines before I used them. I didn't see any staff walking around of talking to the patrons but I believe you can ask if you need assistance. I have been thinking of going to the gym EVERYDAY since I have been and am going back to sign up in the next couple of days. I can see myself becoming addicted to going here so watch out current Duke or Duchess...I'm coming for that top spot. read more
