I can't believe I've been a member here for 7 years. The club was brand new at that time and then Covid hit, causing the club to shut its doors. It was a while after they reopened that I started going again. Now I'm going pretty regularly. The club seems clean (except for the bathroom). They have shifted equipment around to make wider spaces for people to stretch out. The new set up doesn't feel as crowded. They did removed the laying leg curl for the hamstrings that I wish they would return. Now they just have two of the same hamstring machines. They have about 40 treadmills, which are hardly ever full. They did buy new stretching equipment and an all purpose machine, both of which are nice. The gym is not normally crowded when I go. read more

I really like this gym. The layout is perfect and the equipment looks great. All of facilities are in top shape. I enjoyed that it was not super crowded when I visited and the noise level was very low. I appreciate these things when I work out because I am very easily distracted and very uncomfortable with crowded spaces or loud noise at the gym facility.the locker room is also clean and well maintained. First time at this location. This 5-Star review is chiefly based on my experience with Selena and Savannah, the machines and equipment I used today, and the cursory walkthrough of the women's locker room. Wanted to give kudos to Selena and Savannah Selena was sweet and SUPER helpful with my MANY restart requests for the hydrobed before and after my workout. I noticed and thanked Savannah for her diligence in going through the gym wiping down equipment and re-racking weights - which ought to be EVERY member's responsibility. I'm forever grateful to professional staff that care for the cleanliness of their workplace and proactively see to the quality of their member's experience. These two lovely ladies are gems and deserve their public review flowers I absolutely love that this location has the flat hydrobed option, and that they keep the massage area dimly lit and quiet for relaxation. I did not walk the entire gym today, but what I did see, I noticed some machines that had out of order signs - hopefully their equipment maintenance crew will be on top of fixing them promptly. Thankfully, they had all the machines I wanted to use today in working order. I also noticed a couple machine seats where the cover was split open - those should be replaced. As a member of planet fitness for 10+years I was really disappointed from the call I received from my wife. She uses the massage beds to help her with her back pain and to renew the beds she sometimes calls the front desk from her phone so she doesn't have to walk up front over and over again. Well today scott answered and stated that she not do that and walk up front to renew the bed. There's no problem in doing that but when she gets there he is playing cards with a new female coworker. Mt wife went ahead and told him is this the reason he wanted her to come up so he can play his card game. Never have I ever heard of an employee playing cards on their shift especially as the front desk. This is very unprofessional and typically not allowed at any place of work. The showers and dressing stalls at this particular location are never in proper condition. My biggest complaint is the water temperature fluctuations. Multiple times I've been left unable to shower because the water wouldn't even get warm! Some type of black mildew covers the shower crevices, including the wrinkles of the shower curtains, it's extremely unpleasant. Not to mention the bits of trash constantly in the shower shelves and on the ground. Its's not uncommon to go into a stall and find that the usual chair is missing. The bench in the handicap stall is always disgusting with mystery spills. It seems like they never clean the whole shower area. Not sure why their standards here aren't the same as other locations. Not happy with my experiences here in the few days using this location. First cleaning. -Or rather the lack ther of. The showers are broken or piled up with trash, used shavers, and toothbrush for way too long. Before pick up. People/ and staff included gotta do better. -The drains at the sinks are offing Sewer gases when you come within the men's room at all. For me that's a no no, and kinda dangerous. Maintenance issues are a management thing. !!Please address the sewer's smell!! *** On the very plus side, I absolutely adore the staff they are all Warm hearted. kind in the eyes Good people. VERY very helpful and patient. My conclusion is that is sad to see Such awesome folks have to put up with B******* corporate drama that won't allow them to actually do well at this place for some silly reason/s and really turn it into something Genuinely awesome, also having a great location That really serves the people. Planet fitness was the perfect gym for seniors. Great cardio, 30 min workout circuit, nice mix of free weights and machines. Then they decided to fix it! Removed the 30 min workout area. Removed all but 4 elliptical machines. Removed 30 percent of the cardio machines. Added a couple of heavy weight machines. Spaced out the remaining machines to fill the huge vacant area left by all the removal of the equipment, as if we wouldn't notice. Place looks empty. The old adage don't fix it unless it broke. Will be looking at other gyms in the Napa area. read more

Been a member of this gym for over two years. Long story short, I had the Black Membership amd no longer needed it, reduced it to the Classic Membership. It was a few days before the billing cycle so when the bill came for the full membership I figured I changed it too close to the billing cycle and let it go. A month later and I see I'm still getting charged for the full membership. That's why Planet Fitness makes you do bank payments, also why they do not let you change your membership any way other than in person, so they can keep taking your money. Have worked out here regularly for 2 years, always starting with cardio bike. Until July 7th when they pulled out 6 of the 8 stationary bikes and 4 of the 6 recumbent bikes. Now you have to wait for up to an hour for an available cardio work out. Manager is a good guy but says it was Corporate's decision. This reflects a lack of focus on customer care and a lack of awareness of member needs. Too bad. I'm hoping they will replace this equipment. read more

The place is very dirty and unsanitary. Machine aren't wiped down after use. Bathrooms are very unpleasant to have to use during my workout. Other than that.... You get what pay for. Cheap and affordable read more

This is the fourth PF I've worked out in and it's one of the nicer ones..however it has the lowest percentage of compliant mask wearing members. Seems like it's now acceptable to expose your nose or completely pull your mask down below your mouth if you're breathing heavy from doing squats or running on the treadmill because as we all know you can't breath through that mask! WTF people!? Be considerate to others and for once, think of someone besides yourself. We all HATE wearing the mask, but we do wear it properly out of consideration for our fellow members. None of us would knowingly try to infect someone else but here's the thing: you may not know you're infected, I may not realize that I'm also spreading the virus even though I'm feeling "fine". Show a little consideration for others and wear it properly. Thanks! I can't wait for this pandemic to end! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this gym, unfortunately mask enforcement is nonexistent. But I'm positive it's like this at probably every gym, everywhere. We can all do better and should! I'll step down off my soapbox now.. Peace! read more

I'm so happy PF finally moved into the neighborhood. Funny thing, I emailed them about 2 years ago telling them about the space that was available for lease. They told me that they'd share the info with their franchisees. Guess it worked out, but where's my finders fee? Haha! Everything is brand spanking new, I love that new gym smell. Now be warned, this is a no frills gym, that's why the cost is so low. You'd like more deluxe facilities, In Shape is just up the road and add $50 to the cost of PF. Meanwhile, for $10/month you can enjoy all of the cardio and weight equipment as much as you'd like. If you need a pool, etc. there are other options in Napa. For now the hours are somewhat limited. Eventually PF will be 24 hours which is huge considering how many people get off work late (think resto workers). I for one will be an early user once their hours expand. Meanwhile I'm so happy that there's a facility within walking distance to my home. Welcome to the neighborhood PF! With so much amazing food in Napa it's nice to have a counter balance. read more

This place is a breath of fresh air for Napa's Sushi Enthusiasts!!! My sister and I had a fantastic lunch and will be back with more friends and family. Tasteful decor, charming staff and a Chef/owner who obviously knows his Art. He is Wonderful to watch and the food was all beautiful and delicious !! I don't really get the low reviews. This place is super clean and well-equipped compared to the Daly City one. There are infinitely more cardio machines and a decent selection of free weights and machines. Of course, it's a Planet Fitness so the focus is on cardio, but it's still not bad. They could use a few actual squat racks so people can deadlift and such, but I would be a member here if I lived in the area. read more

Avoid signing up here!!! They will scam you!! & keep charging your account and after repeating to charge your account they will disagree and be blatantly rude on the phone, for no reason, other then they dislike there job or are just rude people! After sending multiple letters and at least 10 phone calls, my account is still being charged. I have now reported this as fraudulent charges to my bank and had to put a stop payment on this since PF is a joke and has the worst rude customer service that doesn't help in anyway and never has manager call back to help. Don't waste your time or money signing up here. Plenty of better gyms in the area that won't scam you! read more

I have been a member of Napa Planet Fitness for years and I have seen maintenance of equipment drop steadily. I just made trip to East coast and went to Planet Fitness in Bethlehem, Pa. You might want to check with them as to how a gym should be run. Totally clean, well maintained equipment. Employees eager to assist you. That's the way it should be. Every other time I am there another piece of equipment is broken. certain angled bars for cable machines have been missing for ever. Used to be two, then one now none. That's disgusting your people don't even know when something is missing. Employees also do nothing to direct people that sit on damn machines playing with their phones, holding up others that are actually there to work out and get home. And don't tell me to contact manager, because its not possible to find out who they are. This is an OWNER problem, period. No problem taking on more and more cheap memberships from anybody but do nothing to keep place operating properly. read more

Pre-COVID this place was good. Not great...but good. The machines are in good repair and stuff that's broken gets fixed quickly. I try to concentrate on the "30 minute circuit" with the timed lights so I can get in & get out. The "circuit" is great: when the light is green, you do your set. When the light is red, you stop & move to the next machine. Bam! Done in 30. Pre-COVID there would be Planet Fitness staff patrolling the gym to make sure everyone stuck to the rules of the 30 minute circuit area. But now? It's a total mess. People hang out in the "circuit" area and camp on the machines. They check their phones. They ignore all the signs telling people how to "do" the circuit, and then they get into a snit when you ask them to, gee...move...(Oh no! The horror of MOVING in a GYM!) Since the gym has reopened post COVID, this has happened to me at least once a week (and I only go three times a week). I recognize the staffing challenges in the post-COVID economy. HOWEVER, it should be in the management's best interest to keep the circuit moving; people who use that area are paying the same membership fees as everyone else, but want to leave (and free up space) ASAP. The management needs to realize that if they want a "judgement free zone", they need to make sure that ALL members follow ALL the rules ALL the time. If your staff can't ensure that people have basic common courtesy, then time to retrain or hire different staff. Put up a new sign in the area. Have staff walk through every 5 minutes, or at least monitor the security cam feed. Do something. If I actually spent more time in a gym I'd cancel my PF membership and go elsewhere, but PF is convenient (for now) and I'm hoping the management will take a hint and work on this. read more

Here we are, two days after my husband's review, and sadly, "No Gymtimidation" can no longer be claimed as their slogan. Another entitled patron raised his voice at me today, and I will not be returning. And I maintain that PF's lack of interest in making the place friendly, safe, and moving smoothly made it possible for this to happen. The Express area has a sign explaining the rules, which are to "follow the traffic light" and do one exercise during the "green light" (90 seconds), then clean up and move on to the next machine during the "red light" (30 seconds). If everyone is moving like they should be, it takes 30 minutes. But no one ever does. We have already suffered several rounds of begging the staff to monitor the Express area for people camping out on their phones and slowing the go for everyone else. Today, determined to find some Zen, I let at least five other people sit interminably on one of the arm machines in the Express area. I skipped ahead and did other things, which we often have to do because of the aforementioned phone-campers. Twenty minutes later, I finally saw that the last guy was cleaning up and I went over to it to wait for him to clear out. Then, some yahoo who had been on the previous machine walked past me, while looking straight at me, and sat down to use it! I debated whether to say anything, but after a pause, I said politely, "Sir, FYI, I've been waiting to use this for twenty minutes." AND THEN HE BEGAN TO YELL AT ME. It is a good thing that I had bad techno blasting in my ears and I could not hear exactly what he said, but he raised his voice at me. Another patron. When I was clearly waiting, and while I had allowed everyone else to go before me, and he decides that HE gets to go next, doesn't have to skip to something else while he waits for me to do my lousy, single 90-second set, and everyone else has to wait. PF used to have people monitoring the area; they have gone on to other things. Now, I see four people at a time behind the counter: One person checking people in, everyone else standing around. And nobody will monitor the Express area, much less remind people in a firm but audible voice what the rules are, and if they want to do sets of reps, that there is an entire room full of machines on the other end of the building if they want to do that. And if you want to stare at your phone in your athleisure wear, go home! I tried not to be One Of Those about this, but today, finally, I felt my personal safety was at risk. I am a 5'4" woman and that man-child was about 6'5" and loud and mean. Do I have to carry mace at my gym to ward off aggressive men who can't follow the rules and then take it out on other people who just want to get home at a reasonable hour? I don't really like working out. I want to do it and begone. It was already annoying when these thoughtless twits tacked on another ten minutes to my own workouts. But now? PF has not taken any of this to heart, and not only is the problem worse than ever, but ultimately that I feel unsafe at this gym because the staff will not monitor their members. Sad to say, but that comes with the territory these days, because common courtesy is increasingly uncommon. And by allowing it to continue, and allowing members to treat other members as I was today, PF has lost two customers. While PF is not responsible for what that awful man screamed at me, they are responsible for creating the conditions that makes him think it's okay. read more

This gym has all the basic bells and whistles if you will. There's a good amount of cardio machines (treadmills and elliptical) but on busy nights those get full fast. They also have a wide variety of weight machines although there's only one or if you're lucky two of each. Locker rooms are clean but all the equipment you are responsible for cleaning yourself after use which some people do not. Also the 30 minute workout area sometimes has people just sitting on machines using their phones. Incredibly frustrating but if you aren't afraid to ask people to move if they aren't using the machine then that shouldn't be a problem. Staff are young and friendly and helpful if you need anything. read more

Cold showers. I guess one of the other reviews said that if you wait ten minutes the warm water will cycle on again. I was freezing and didn't wait that long to find out. I asked the front desk about it and they said that sometimes the showers just get cold pockets. The shower curtains were clean and there were nice big shelves to put your shampoo on. read more

There is a lot that can be done to improve. I've been a member for several years, the equipment has never been replaced and is beginning to fall apart. The media is always malfunctioning and the sound on the many of machines that connect to the media no longer work. Additionally, many of the machines have broken or missing parts to them, i.e., cup holders missing. The gym equipment is filthy, really filthy. The tanning rooms are also disgusting, the floors are never mopped, there is tanning lotion spots on the floor and walls that have been there for over a year. There should be more attention paid to overall maintenance of not only equipment, but bathroom facilities too. The staff is friendly, however, they spend most of their time chatting with each other and texting or watching videos on their phones. It is my understanding that the owner also has a Planet Fitness in Petaluma with the same issues. The only positive remark I have is the price - but like they say, you get what you pay for... This location is competing with Petaluma for worst PF. Staff barely notices u coming or going, usually quite involved in their personal conversations with coworkers or friends who came in to say hi. The really neat big sign that says "24/5" outside is a very blatant bright big false advertisement. Why has nobody taken it down? It should be 24/3 at best.. this location is only 24hrs Tuesday- Thursday, u don't have to be a math expert to know that's not 5 days. If u want to take a quick shower before u leave so ur not gross all day, just know 90% of the time it's going to have cold water come out for 10mins or so straight. You'll be stuck standing on the side of the shower waiting for the water heater to kick back on. Black sludgy mold whatever in all the showers. I was present about 2 months ago when a member asked one of the associates that was cleaning the bathroom if they could order new shower curtains. Her exact words were, "these ones that are there now are kind of gunky, they need to be replaced." The girl said she'd look into it. Must be a highly complicated thing since it's been 2 months now and no change. They've been ripped off of their holders & full of soap scum & mildew. Best bang for your buck here for sure. The mobile app makes it easy to check in or purchase things like water or protein drinks. You can also look ahead time to see if busy or not. They have a good selection of weight equipment and cardio equipment to use. Everything seems to be good quality and kept up. read more

Just spoke with Chris, the assistant manager. I asked for a refund of a credit card offer I received in an email with a temporary card number. (I didn't have my wallet with me 2 days ago when I signed up)... So I used the card before reading reviews about the company. I immediately drove to the location who told me I'd to wait until today to talk to Chris. I talked to Chris who told me that there is no way the would refund me. I just asked him to charge my bankcard instead. NO. I told him I'd bring him $49 cash. NO! I told him I'd pay 2 years in advance, NO! He said there was a policy to not contact billing unless it was a stolen card. I asked for the number to billing. NO! I emailed Chris Rondeau, the CEO of Planet Fitness, hoping for some relief. I don't know what else to do. I know I should have done my research before using that card, and that's on me. I'm a public school teacher and I try to do the right thing by my students and try to teach them to be good citizens and try to help out anyone when possible. I'm just asking for a little grace here. I don't mind paying a cash penalty. I just want that card refunded. It just sounded like Chris didn't want to help me. read more

This gym was really great. I loved the amount of cardio and weights. This place had more stair steppers than I've seen at other gyms...and they were fully employed. Which proves that gyms need more stair steppers. Install them and they will be used! Rant over. The locker room was big and clean and they have bathroom stalls (sans a toilet) just for changing. If I lived in the area I would be a member. One downside, the drop in rate of $20 is steep but they have a free day pass for first time users. I go to a planet fitness in roseville and came to this one while i was visiting family, the workers don't care I said hello and asked how their day was and then leaving i said bye have a good day and no response either time, the equipment is so old that there's tears in the leather on the machines and they're also very old machines. It's their first week of opening. With that being said there's way more emphasis on sales than service. For example it's now 6:45 pm (prime time): the entryway has about a dozen persons waiting and three staff persons. They need more help. And there are NO staff on the floor, which is contrary to their sales pitch. Right now there are about 40-50 people using equipment some probably for the first time. Safety issues?! I was told that if we had any questions about equipment we could just ask for help at the front desk. That's not realistic when there are so many people waiting to sign in or register. Furthermore the equipment is below par. I experienced the same malfunction with two different ellipticals. I set them on manual and effort level 10-13. After about 10 minutes they reset to level one for no reason. They don't number the machines so it's impossible to report which machines are affected. Really, Planet Fitness: this isn't your first location! Some of the equipment require the user to be Thor to set: a good example is the leg press in the 30 minute fitness zone. It's as though PF bought the equipment wholesale and didn't bother to beta test then with real people. Now granted I'm small and not The Hulk but PF needs to live up to its tag line "judgement free zone," I.e. making it easy for a person of any level to set to their ability. I'm willing to write a second review: maybe this is just the painful break in period. read more

The girl at the front desk that's blonde with her hair in a ponytail with glasses at the Napa,CA planet fitness is super nice and doing a great job greeting guests.  I don't know her name but she's very nice and friendly and I'm glad you guys hired her.   I went in at 9:30am on December 18, 2019 I love planet fitness.  I mentioned it to a few friends.  I like the business model of avoiding high cost extras like a pool and just focusing only on machines thus keeping the membership price low.  I for one don't use pools or basketball courts and just wanted to work out.  Thanks for opening a Napa location.  You guys are great. read more

I just signed up a few weeks ago and I am very pleased. The staff is super friendly, obviously young and it's a new job for them so you can't expect a lot at the moment but they seem to be very into it! Love the tanning, the equipment is great and I don't feel like it's to crowded even on their busiest nights I'm almost never waiting for a machine despite being smaller than the other gyms. Lockers rooms are also big, lots of showers, just make sure to bring your own lock! In-shape had a MAJOR problem with locker break-ins so hopefully that won't the case here. The no judgment zone is everything as it sounds! I don't feel like I'm constantly being judged and surrounded by workout junkies, the environment is much calmer and everyone is just doing their own thing! I feel very accepted here! Anyone who has a complaint about this gym needs to keep the price tag in mind. It's $10-$20 a month! I just switched from in-shape and already I feel this gym is 10x better and for a fraction of the price! My favorite thing about the gym? They have two GIANT fans that cover the entire room, unlike other gyms I have been at in Napa where you are constantly fighting people for the one elliptical that sits under 1 of the 2-3 very small fans in the room! That was my biggest problem with other gyms is that I feel I couldn't even workout because it was so hot in the room! For $10/month, you can you use all the basic workout equipment and free fitness training. It's so nice seeing so many young people in the gym trying to live a healthier lifestyle because it's the only gym in Napa that's actually affordable! I decided to do the $20 package for the tanning, 50% discounts on drinks, training sessions, massage chairs, soon-to-come classes, free guest passes and use of other PF around the country. I KNEW I had to write this review because most of their bad reviews are from the first couples weeks of opening. Really people? They were open a week and you're already making complaints?? Of course it's going to be unorganized, every single person there is new and just trying to figure it out! This gym is great for the money. read more

I love the circuit training routine (although it is not monitored and that is very frustrating) ..which is a 30 min workout involving cardio and weights. There is a green light for go and a red light for stop in between cardio and weights. The whole routine is over before I know. This place has more equipment than I have ever seen a gym have. It is very clean and the staff is friendly. It costs 29 to join and 10 dollar a month and for 10 dollars more you can be a black card member with half off on drinks and the use of tanning beds. The downside for some people may be that there are no exercise classes or a pool. I also do not think there are showers. The absolute plus is it is clean, friendly and affordable with plenty of aerobic machines plus the circuit training room. read more
