I've been coming to PF for about a year now and have been working with the trainer Carlos Silva. I have made it my daily routine to workout. I was afraid to more than a 30 min ciruit class and now I take up to 4 classes a day. It is all because of the trainer Carlos who has taken time to help answer any questions and is even helping me with my nutrition. He accommodates the exercises to meet each individual in class. He's awesome! The best mentor that I have been lucky to work with. Carlos Silva is an excellent trainer with 20+ yrs experience. He goes above and beyond. Update from my review two weeks ago. The chest/rear delt machine is still out of order - what a joke. I also forgot to mention a few of the inclined benches don't have a knob on the screw to adjust the bench. It's extremely difficult to adjust the bench up or down without it. I was there recently and was somewhat disappointed by a tall and very slim employee who works there. He has a very abrasive method of calling out people who don't clean their machine after using it . I appreciate the diligence manifested in ensuring our gym is kept clean , hygienic and up to date . However , he really needs some coaching on how to approach people , use the word please and not to yell (" hey you ! Clean your machine .) I am not a child. This man needs to be very careful how he behaves in this no-judgement zone gym. Not good . Does not make me want to come back . read more

Manager working here on February 28th at 6:00pm (long black hair and black beard) dude is kind of rude. They are up there on their phones not paying attention and when asked for help he got a dry ass attitude and response. If you don't like your job, QUIT! Definitely don't recommend this one. I am a new customer and the way the so called manager Victor handled the situation is unacceptable. He was rude and had no customer service skills whatsoever. If you don't know how to talk to people or try to fix an issue or give information on how to better understand my membership than he should not be a manager or be assisting anyone. I'm so confused on the rules they have. I been told not to be on a phone call while jogging. I been told not to drop my weights, which just happens when you're lifting and i can't have a gallon of water lol. It's not a bad gym but the Managment and the rules are so laughable. This Planet Fitness just opened and I have to say that it is honestly the gym of my dreams. There are PLENTY of cardio options - treadmills, bikes, stairmaster, two kinds of ellipticals etc. I almost always go here during the "busy hours" after work and the gym is like 20% full at most. You can always get a machine. There are over 20 different flat screens that you can tune into while on the cardio machines (I always choose CNN or MSNBC). I have never had to wait to use the weight training machines either, because there are almost always two sets of each. Locker rooms are extremely clean. I can literally see my face in the bathroom stalls! There are two humongous fans on the ceiling that always keep the place cool. There's a 12-minute timed ab circuit and a 30-minute timed full body circuit, a room literally dedicated to "stretching" and even a tanning booth! The staff is always friendly and two of the managers even know me by name. I really love the Planet Fitness culture of "No Gymtimidation." Everyone from those just beginning their weight loss journey to teenagers to ladies in their 70's frequents this place. It's great going here and not feeling like I have no idea what I'm doing. And for just $10 per month, joining this gym is seriously a no brainer! read more

I really love coming here for the classes. You get a great workout for more than half the price. Carlos is an awesome trainer. Doesn't matter how big the class or how small he pushes you. Even in a group setting he knows how to push you towards your own goals. He is really in tune with every individual and what they can accomplish and push them towards the next step. You never feel lost in the crowd. He gets to know you and what your body is capable of even when you don't. I look forward to it, because in 30 minutes I get exactly what I want. This place was ridiculously all over you. My mask slipped a little off my nose and some girl with blonde hair runs up and begins yelling at me. Then I try to get a drink from a bubbler and they run over and tell me I need to buy water. The Lunk alarm an annoying air raid alarm that goes off when weights clang goes off every 2 minutes. I literally have ptsd from being there. Then the icing on the cake I have no lock for lockers so I bring my gym bag with me and a guy runs up to me again and says no gym bags. This place takes the cake for hands down unfriendliest and lastly very dirty lockers and bathrooms. Avoid this one at all cost. read more

I've been on and off at PF for 10 years. I Just recently got back into consistent workouts with the PF trainer in January. Originally I went to the Providence location. That's where I met Carlos Silva. I started taking the classes with him. He is an excellent trainer! From the first day, he has helped me to set goals and work towards reaching them. He has a calm, positive energy that keeps me focused and motivated. Carlos handles the classes well, making sure to accommodate the exercises to meet the needs of each individual no matter what level. He is a stickler for perfect form to make sure there are no injuries. He is very attentive and takes the time with each person, even during full classes. He gives great tips, eagerly answers any questions, and even helps with nutrition advice. He has 20 plus years of experience. I've worked with several PF trainers over the years, but Carlos Silva is the best. That is why I switched to the Ann Mary location when he transferred. I wanted to continue my weight loss journey with the best. So far I have lost 30lbs, become much stronger, and increased my stamina. I couldn't have done it on my own! I would definitely recommend working with Carlos to meet your fitness goals. He's patient, knowledgeable and most importantly he cares about helping the clients. read more

Quite possibly one of the worst smelling facilities I have been too. The overwhelming foul body odor was next level. The entire establishment smelled like a year old dirty hamper. Truly gross. I advise management to scrub the place and implement a mandatory deodorant policy because it desperately needs it. read more

Horrible. This establishment is dirty and I'm sure if the health department came they would be closed down. Customer service is SEVERELY lacking. I have been trying to get a call back from the manager "MATT" yet he will NOT call me back... I don't know why. A managers job is to call their customers back. What is the issue? The people who usually work the front desk are nice BUT you must ensure you clean everything fore you use it because of how dirty this place is. I'm disappointed and think I'm going to cancel my membership. Corporate "L" why are you contacting me??? I've NO issues with you. I know of other members who say they can't get you to answer them. I called months almost a year ago because the monthly fees were different than the amount agreed upon, I was advised to go into cancel my membership. I waited for awhile but when I finally did go in they told me I owe late fees from 2020 and 2021...hmmm no contract I let the overcharge go due to me assuming this was some type of late fee they finagled in. However i was rudely spoken to when I was asking for an explanation, I kept being told I told you they refused to assist another gentleman started saying well he told you why late fees... I got mad and yelled WHY and i was told to leave and they attempted to call the cops on me. I don't feel its fair that I have to pay the thieves to stop robbing me. read more

planet fitness Ann Mary street Pawtucket is a very clean and friendly environment to work out in.The staffs are also very helpful, and easy to talk to. l believed it is one of the best among the many planet fitness communities in Rhode Island. I have been going there since 2017, I have never seen or observed any disrespect or rudeness from any staff. To crown the healthiness of this planet fitness gym is the trainer, Carlos. He is the best trainer you can ever get in contact with or meet if you have a gym equipment phobia (like how I used to be)or looking forward to start a weight lose or fitness journey. He is a very caring and detailed oriented trainer I believed you are going to meet especially if you are paying $10 or $20 for a group class. he encourages you in every way possible to be your best even if you have worked the overnight shift. he is also concerned about YOU as a person with a life and a goal to lose weight and be healthy, he helped designed workouts and personal need training that will help in your fitness goals.he always make time to observe you and help in every little details you have even when you don't speak. for a example , I had a problem with my card , I went in with the intention to ask for help, in the process I forgot the card and went on to work out . to my surprised he made it his business to search and find who own the card and personally brought it to me and waited for me without distracting me and handed it to me. at that moment I felt so good about the person he was and I was impressed by his level of care and attention to details that he has always showed. This is definitely my favorite PF in the area because other than at peak times, it's generally very quiet and chill. The staff is friendly (though a little out of it sometimes - I think there are some stoners working the desk lol) and all of the machines are almost always in working order. Sometimes the hydro beds aren't working which is a bummer, but aside from that this is a great PF! read more

I've been a member here for about 6 months and I love it! The gym is always so clean! I always see employees vacuuming the floors, dusting the machines, and cleaning the bathrooms. I like that they have plenty of machines so you never have to wait for another member to finish. The best perk is the classes and the personal trainer they have! Carlos is so motivating and encourages you to try different classes. He is always pushing you to get stronger but making sure your form is correct so you aren't getting injured. I started off at the Planet Fitness in Providence and I hated it. It was full of creeps and felt dirty. Due to those reasons, I decided to start coming to this location. I usually come around 6-7am during the week and I have nothing but good things to say about this location. William is friendly, I am always greeted when I walk in and out. William and Carlos keep the gym amazingly clean. I've been to multiple planet fitness locations in RI and MA and this one is by far the best. Also, Carlos is very helpful. He walks around a lot and sees if people need help (making sure they're positioned correctly when using the machines, etc.) and he also let me know about the training sessions. I hope I can eventually go to one with my crazy school and work schedule haha. Great work ethic from the two of them! Give them a raise read more

I switched gyms and started working out at PF. I was extremely excited to work out with the trainer that comes with the membership. However, after 1 class I was put off by immaturity of the trainer. Then months later I was told by some coworkers that a new trainer had started at the Ann Mary location. I took a shot and tried a circuit class again. OMG Carlos Silva is awesome. He is attentive, and makes sure to give each client the same amount of attention. He is kind and courteous. He makes sure that your using the right form so that you are getting the best workout without hurting yourself. He gives great tips and answers all my questions. He has even offered to help me with my nutritional needs so that I can lose the last 40 lbs I need to lose to reach my goal. He pushes when I need it. And pulls me back when I am going to far so I don't hurt myself. I have never left one of his sessions without feeling the burn and sweat. He has over 20 years of experience and I would totally recommend Carlos as a trainer. The only issue I have now is with the gym itself. I work 10 hours a day and and go to the gym after work. I was seeing Carlos for a session Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I was just notified they have reworked all the training sessions and hours of class availability. Now the training sessions doesn't work for anyone who actually works M-F 8-5. There are no classes on Monday after 2pm or Tuesday nights after 5pm. There is only 1 class available on Wednesday night. But yet on Wednesday they have 3 sessions set up for possible new members to view the gym. The only night of the week that actually has some training sessions is Thursday night. I like to spread out my workouts throughout the week. I don't want to go to the gym 1 night a week and be there for 3 hours to workout my entire body. And there no classes on Friday nights either. But Friday night is fine, because who really wants to work out on a Friday night. This new class schedule is horrible. I don't know why or who changed it. But you need to put it back. And give working individuals a chance to hit the gym at night with the trainer. That was the entire point I joined planet fitness. I love working out with Carlos. But I hate Planet Fitness's new training schedule. No classes available at night. Thanks so much for focusing on your patrons. read more

I joined this gym over a year ago and for the first few months there was no presence of a trainer or classes. After a few months a guy in a yellow shirt that read trainer reached out and said hi I'm Carlos. He was interested in my fitness journey and wanted to help. Since then it's been a love affair. I have taken his classes multiple times every week. My fitness goals are on point and I could not have attained this working out by myself. Carols has a dry nerdy sense of humor that grows on you. He's funny when he's not and he really does care. He takes the time to understand your journey and helps you one on one. I call him Super Carlos or team awesome because he is just that. He has connected me to other fitness friends and resources and continues to help me on my journey along with many others. He is one of the main reasons I love this gym! read more

I've been a member of some upscale gyms, and recently just cancelled my $45/month membership elsewhere and signed up here. I originally just signed up because it was cheap until I could find another gym that I liked considering I live in Attleboro. Two months later and I am still coming to this planet fitness. There are closer locations to me, but this one is my favorite. From the day I signed up, all of the staff has been so friendly and so nice. They always have a positive attitude and great you when entering and leaving. I'm also impressed with how clean this gym is kept. Want a great gym for a great price?! Well, then sign up for the Planet Fitness!!!! I am writing this review to tell people who are afraid to join a gym to just give it a try. The first day I walked in, the staff was great. I have been a member for a little over 2 months and so happy that I made the leap to join. The gym itself is clean and the members are friendly! The amount of machines is crazy. I have never had to wait to use the treadmill, stair climber or any other machine. I wasn't sure if the classes would be a good fit, but they are awesome. My first class was the 30 minute circuit with Carlos Silva. What a great choice! I couldn't ask for a better person to train me. The classes are small and lots of fun. Carlos makes sure that you are using the machine correctly and adjusts the weights for each person taking their turn on the machine. I like that he pays attention to you and always makes sure that you are breathing correctly. My first class I must have stopped to breathe about every 5 seconds. I was afraid that Carlos would say that the class wasn't for me. Instead he said that it is better to stop and re-group than just quit. I was really happy to hear that. I did stop a few more times, but never quit. I ended up picking up a couple more classes and now I attend classes 3 to 4 times a week. I am so happy I made the choice and joined this gym. Just give it a chance and take a class with Carlos. I promise you will want to keep going back. You will see great results, just as I have!!!! read more

They just charge your card whatever they want and when they want. They claimed I didn't pay the annual fee (which I did it's on my bank statement & they take it out automatically) left my account in "bad standing" ($54 due) then a few months later o decide let me just pay it since their not going to do anything about the situation, I put $20 down on the $54 which made it $34 on September 3rd I got to pay the remaining balance today which is September 10th and now all of a sudden I owe $71 ? The don't charge me till the 16th so it can't be my monthly charge and even if it was the numbers don't add up. Their just out here stealing peoples hard earned money. I can't even go down there cause I have now moved to Florida and no one does anything over the phone to even try to resolve the issues. I called headquarters and they told me I have to call them but then employees not mangers listen to a word you have to say. Last year they charged me twice for the annual fee and I didn't even say anything but this is just wrong please don't trust them go elsewhere ! The gym is nice and all but the company messes up billing every month , sometimes they take the $22 out on the 19th even tho it's due on the 16th. Don't sign up at this gym. When I moved and could no longer use my membership I went into the location and cancelled. I kept getting charged month after month... for 6 months after cancelling and when I called I was accused of lying about coming in to cancel my membership by William Santiago (name according to the confirmation email I finally received). He had also confirmed that there has been a huge turnover rate and probably the employee I was referring to doesn't work there anymore. I was refused the ~$120 refund I requested and again was told there was no way I came in and cancelled because I have no proof. He could clearly see on my account that I haven't used my membership and I offered to make the long drive to bring paperwork to show when we purchased our new home and moved since someone made an error with cancelling. He told me that there is no way someone there made an error and that I never came to cancel and then he hung up on me. Sorry, William Santiago, but you were very rude to me when I was asking for your help on how to resolve this. read more
