This didn't seem as well lit as the other ones I visit. Music choices also seemed to be all unpopular songs despite different genres represented. It was also a little warmer than I'm used to even though it wasn't busy when I went. The restrooms were also tucked away in a corner with no signage directing you that way. It is in a large plaza which makes parking plentiful. Besides lighting and temperature, everything else was a pretty standard P.E. visit. There was a decent selection of machines, adequate cleaning stations, clean restrooms, etc. Bonus points for having a machine I've never seen before (Glute Lift) and I have been to quite a few locations. read more

I've been a member here at this location for over a year now. And going pretty much every day since July. The staff I've encountered (they have a lot of turnover) have been nice. I'm OCD when it comes to gym cleanliness so I spray and wipe down machine equipment down before and after use. Only issues I've ever run into is the paper towel dispensers being empty. So I been using planet fitness for a while now and been to several different PF locations. I came to this one since it was one the way home today after a meeting. This one has gotta be the worst managed facility I've been. The locker room literally smell like it hasn't been cleaned for a while. There are stains on the benches, there are no paper towels in the bathroom, and the whole gym just smells. Other Pf locations I've been to are well stock, clean, and cleaning stations well stocked. At the bar stations, some benches were missing, not sure where they went. Definitely not coming back here. One good thing, there are plenty of parking and in a central location. read more

5 stars. Great gym. Alexandria is wonderful, and even had the pads replaced on a heavily-used piece of equipment within days when I mentioned it. They have an amazing special which we couldn't pass up - $10 per month. This is not equinox in nyc where you refinance your apartment to join. Great people, no pressure to sign, and - as with all gyms - I've quit before, you just have to give a month or two head's up. Great gym culture too - I've never seen anybody drop weights. It's a pretty decent gym, although cancellation is pain to get done, they make it very easy to sign up online but on the other hand made it very difficult to cancel. To cancel, you have to either physically go there, or send a form via CERTIFIED MAIL. Who uses that? Why are they making it so easy to sign up online yet so difficult to cancel and forcing you to physically go there or send via certified mail? The answer is they want to make it inconvenient for you to go and cancel making it out of your way. They also recently changed from allowing the use of credit cards to ACH only which makes it again, harder to cancel. They should consider this part and consumer protection is in order. read more

I enjoy this location so I'm surprised to see the negative reviews. The staff here is super friendly and always greets you when you walk in and when you leave. They make small talk and make you feel welcome. There is plenty of equipment here and I usually go right away in the morning or after work and there are always machines available. They've done a good job with COVID and separating the treadmills with clear barriers. They also have a lot of cleaning stations so you don't have to walk far. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked (important after the workout!) and the TVs are all viewable. Large parking lot so you won't have any issues finding a spot. read more

Great place to work out. Lots of equipment and the facilities are clean. They even supply paper towels and cleaner so you can wipe down the equipment after you use it. Masks are required because of the Rona. My only gripe is on the weights you get some people, mostly guys, who camp the equipment or don't wipe up after using. I can deal with the campers. But the pigs that can't wipe up after themselves is irritating and I'm tired of asking people to do it. Some of the older reviewers are pretty ignorant and the posters don't seem to have a firm grip on reality. 1. This is not Golds gym. You want to be a power lifter, go elsewhere. 2. The equipment is placed appropriately. Cardio with cardio and resistance with resistance. You also get a tour of the facility so you know what they have and what they don't have. No pools or saunas or courts or rock walls here and it's pretty apparent when you go on the tour. 3. Pay your bills. If you're a starving student, work out at home or run in the park. You can use bottles of water or cans of food for resistance. We've all been there. Life is hard. Suck it up. No free rides for anyone. 4. When you sign up they outline the cost and what you will get billed for. It's not their fault if you slept through it when they showed you or if you were not paying attention. read more

Now that all of the New Years resolution hype has died down, I can give a better review. Now don't get me wrong this is still a great gym for the price, I don't think there's any other gym memberships that start at $10 (if there is, point it out to me!) so that's what's still keeping me here. So the things that I have found out about this place is what brings down the ratings. Firstly, this gym had gotten way too crowded, it used to be little to zero people there after like 10p but now it's packed like everyone just got off of work! Secondly, machines are constantly breaking down, which is obviously frustrating being as I would like to use them to you know, work out. And recently they have been on a paper towel shortage for the cleaning stations at least 4 days in a row, of course life happens, but 4 days in a row, really? You would automatically assume that this location is in a "good" area with close proximity to many amenities; however, with that, comes proximity to "sketchy" people. Not judging anyone; however, when your stereotypical view comes to fruition, you have to judge. If this is your primary gym, I recommend that you do not shower there or store your personal belongings in the locker; just get in, get fit, and get out. If you want to take extreme precaution - just avoid this location completely! Showers: Usually dirty and often left with debris from the person who showered before; stuff like: razors, soap, wash cloth, disgusting body hair, etc - just completely unhygienic. Lockers: For about a month straight, one of the lockers had someone's mildew and moldy clothes left in it. I finally got fed up and threw them in the garbage - that's after I notified the staff (thank you for taking care of that concern ). Also, one time (Monday night 1/10/2022, two lockers were broken into at the same time. They stole someone's wallet and stole my BMW car key fob - afterwards, they went in my car and stole my house keys with along with my registration (with my address on it). You can imagine how scary that feeling is knowing that a thief has your house keys and knows where you live - definitely not good! Staff: Always a bunch at the front counter on their phone and chit-chatting with each other. It's not that I don't support employees socializing; however, it's when they're not attentive or have no clue what's going on - like being vigilant and on the lookout for "sketchy" people (who happen to have memberships that allows them to go in the locker and steal your stuff). I get it Planet Fitness, you don't judge; however, don't you think it'd be a good idea to be a bit more assertive to protect your loyal members by weeding out the thieves who rob (literally) loyal members of their peace of mind? read more

They still don't have the timer light in the 30 Minute Express Workout room working, the touch screen for the Black Card services never seems to work anymore, but worst of all (to me anyway) the women's showers have been consistently disgusting - hair, bits of packaging, soap scum, broken razors, floors in need of sweeping & mopping. ***You really need a manager on evenings (6-9 PM) who's going to make sure staff actually do their job. *** If you'd asked me to a review prior to the reno, I'd have been singing the praises of this club! Came in this morning to get a tour / learn more about the gym. I was dismissed by the front desk guy even tho it was 5 AM and very slow. Barely told me anything about the gym. I was ready to work our so I asked if they had a 1 or 3 day pass I could buy to get a feel of the gym and he said no. Just wanted to update my review. If you think this is a "your on your own" kind of plan, you're wrong. They have group sessions and one on one training just for the asking and signing up. The trainer, David, has been fantastic in developing a 3 day workout routine to meet my fitness needs. The equipment is plentiful and the facility is well maintained by staff and customers. The first time I was still getting charged and called them to be told it was still active. I went in again, got a cancellation email, they showed me the screen that it was cancelled, and they are STILL charging me. This is a fraudulent business not to be trusted. Visiting Phoenix and needed a good workout. This PF is huge and it's clean. Lots of cardio equipment and lots of strength training equipment too. Even stair climbers (Matrix brand). And 5 (yup five!) Posted this on Mayvale location by accident. I removed it because it belongs here: I returned when they reopened last week. Everyday the gym has maskless people walking around glaring at you, people sweating and not cleaning machines. I attempted to change my workout schedule, spoke with the manager, asked the employees to speak with the maskless assholes. Each day I was told they " will", that corporate won't allow them too, that they can't, that they're waiting for restrictions to lift. After, 5 days of rejoining I tried to cancel and was told I can't cuz the system is " down". Guess what kids?! Guess who's not feeling well? Had to report them to the Covid hotline and gotta go get tested and possibly inform them. Way to go " open the gym" asswipes who can't wear a mask while they do 15 pound chest press machine and poor form free weight moves. And here is the response I received from " Billy" at corporate when I responded to their comment below. Meaghan, thanks for reaching out to us. We do require our members to follow the protocols in regard to masks, and we will be doing everything we can to make sure our club is cleaner than ever. If you feel members are not doing their part, you will need to speak to the club manager. The manager may be able to take steps to ensure our gym floor is being monitored correctly! Super friendly staff welcomed us as we walked in. Luckily I'm a Black card member so I was able to take a guest for free. We started off stretching then went straight to the 30 minute circuit workout. Whew! It's a combination of weighs and intense cardio to get your heart rate up, and stay up! We then grabbed a quick drink of water and jumped on the elliptical. I find that 30 minutes at level 18 is just the right amount for me. After that we did a couple abs and calf exercises. I love this gym. Yeah it can be kinda goofy like the whole no gallon of water rule and no grunting-silly. BUT. Luckily I'm not somebody who suffers from those rules so it suits me just fine lol! The place is always clean, they have plenty of machines and free weights and very helpful staff. The staff is always so kind and helpful. I do pay for the upgraded membership because I like to bring my husband with me, the fact that you can bring a guest any time with no limits is such a plus. If you are single and not looking to bring guests however, I'd recommend the basic membership-the extra fancy stuff really isn't that worth it. I mean yeah I'll use it but if it weren't for my husband I would have stuck with the basic one. read more
