Earlier this year, this club has upgraded all their equipment which is absolutely fantastic. Planet Fitness used to cost $10/month for a basic membership but now it's $15/month plus $49 a year. What makes Planet Fitness amazing is the fact that it's never truly crowded unlike other gyms I've been to. This makes it so that you can actually use the machines you actually want. There's not a lot of free weights and there's way more cardio machines than weight lifting machines. A black card membership gets you access to their tanning beds, hydro massage machines, and chair massages. You also get to use any Planet Fitness in the US; this is useful to me as I like to go out on the weekends. What this particular location lacks is a prone leg curl machine and lounge hydro massages and it's not open for 24 hours. If you're a casual workout person, Planet Fitness is ideal for you since it's basically the cheapest gym membership you can get and the machines increase in increments of 2.5lbs so that you can make really great incremental progress. read more

Planet Fitness has always been my go to gym for years. While I haven't maintained my membership for years, it's always there for me when I decide I need to go back! I also LOVE the color scheme of this gym! I recently joined again, and while the location of this facility is not my favorite, it's near home and the facility itself is always clean and well maintained. They offer a few different membership levels, and I choose the Black card since it allows access to any PF. PF is located all over the country, which is something else I really like about this gym chain. There are a lot of cardio machines, and strength training machines. The space itself is huge! I usually come here in the mornings and there is NEVER a wait for anything! I'm sure the evenings are a bit busier, but I don't think you would have to wait long if all the machines happened to be in use. There are spray bottles and paper towels to wipe machines off, they have a stretching area, and a few other areas with specific machines in them. They also offer hydro massage machines and tanning beds. The restrooms have showers and lockers. One thing I do wish PF offered was more classes/a variety of classes. But other than that, I really love PF and this location has always been a great place to workout at. I highly recommend considering PF if you're looking for a gym. read more

This location on Peoria has good hours but the parking lot is a little sketch at 5am. I've been using this location while at a nearby airbnb. The gym itself is huge and there are tons of machines and various areas. The cardio machines are different from my home PF gym located in Sunnyslope. I don't love these machines as much as the ones as the Sunnyslope location -- except they have built in fans in each machine. Some of the machines are off balance and some are out of order. I think this location is dirtier than Sunnyslope. This morning when I was there there were massive dust bunnies on the floor, a water like substance spilled on the floor and many of the paper towel dispensers were out of paper towels. Also for two days on the floor of one of the weight machines it looked like someone had peeled their nail polish. The weight machines are kind of cool in that they count your reps and the time it takes to do the rep... if the machine is working. But the handles have this weird grating that is slightly uncomfortable to grip unless you have weight gloves. I'll be glad to get back to the Sunnyslope location. read more

I'm a new regular here since I moved last year. Great staff! Manager Angel and Asst Manager Sea are great! Very personable! Jordan was the personal trainer, great guy but he started training at a different location. Staff like Juan and Quill are always greeting people with positivity. All the staff are, I just don't know all their names yet. The regulars are great. The machines are spaced out well. Only 2 areas of improvement.... 1- To corporate, please add the peloton style bikes like you have at the 3rd street location. 2- Also to corporate, appaudio does not work at this location. I don't know his name but every time I walk in he gives me a stare like I'm doing something wrong. He's had his attitude come out in a very mean way when I didn't understand something when checking in, and was overall someone that didn't make me want to come back. The equipment is lacking. A lot of the machines are older. Or there are some common machines/equipment that they just don't have. And the staff is never very helpful. I've seen some rude staff and also some that are just bored and don't care about the customers. The biggest problem, however, is they've made it clear that they don't care about the safety of women. So my wife and daughters can't use the locker rooms or showers because Planet Fitness thinks it's appropriate for naked men to be in the women's locker rooms. As a former member of LA Fitness, I approve of Planet Fitness (PF). Its big enough to suffice every workout you can possibly think of. Let's start with the look and feel. The facility oozes Barney purple and yellow. That's right, Barney the Dinosaur purple. You kind of wonder if the creator was inspired by the popular 90's PBS show. The color, design and layout truly does "pop" which in a way keeps you engaged, less bored, and motivated. Unlike your "standard" looking gym, they have designated areas where you can focus on specific needs. For instance, they have express workout areas that hits all parts of your body or machines that targets your core. On top of that, you get access to various cardio machines, strength training machines, and free weights. But what really separates PF from other notable gyms is offering members a variety of different workout options, unique amenities and perks. There are 2 levels of memberships: Regular and Black. As a Black member you have access to everything plus these: HydroMassage, Tanning, and 1 Guest Allowance. Every 1st Mondays of the Month, it is PIZZA NIGHT. Yes, PIZZA NIGHT. How cool is that? Its not that they are trying to sabotage your hour glass body, it's to draw guests back in to workout. Lastly, WiFi is FREE to all members using their standard password that is plastered throughout the gym. The one aspect that I really appreciate the most is the ease of flipping TV channels on their cardio machines. They designed it to feel like you're at home. I love the layout and large size of their TVs. All your standards national TV stations are on in addition to some popular cable channels like ESPN, HGTV, and CNN. When it comes to music, they dominate in this department. For those who don't bring in headphones and some kind of music device, you get to hear a very nice selection of the latest and not too old hits. They don't have all the equipment I like but they have most of it. They need another squat rack or maybe two more. There's always a wait for it here. The staff doesn't seem to ever clean the machines while I'm there, which is super gross because I've seen people pick their teeth and put their hands back on the equipment. Needless to say I refuse to use some of the machines now. If you don't care that it's a dirty gym, and you don't want to use the squat rack, not a bad place. The staff is usually friendly. read more

If I could give this location 0 Stars I would absolutely a hundred percent do it. This location is a joke the quality of the service inside is ridiculous, mediocre at best. They don't explain to you that you have to come in a week before your due date to cancel your account or they're going to charge your account, also when signing an account in with them they do not tell you that you physically have to go in to cancel anything, so if you are not in town and you need to cancel, the online account manager doesn't even allow you to cancel your account. It tells you to call the store and they tell you you need to come in. What's the point of an account manager if you can't do anything from it? Perks? What perks? I didn't even receive a walk-through when I arrived for my first workout. This place is a joke. read more

Not for everyone. Lots of machines but free weight selection is very limited. Facilities are usually very clean. Just like any gym, sometimes there are crowds, sometimes not. I pay for the $20 monthly membership so I can use the massage and tanning. That package is a great value, plus it allows me to bring guests. Straight men, DO NOT go on Friday nights. I just found this out last night. The place was a gay bath house. I'm not homophobic, I just don't go to the gym to be stalked. It started in the locker room. This guy sat staring at me, at first I thought he was just waiting to get to his locker, then I realized all the lockers near me were empty. I even asked if I was in his way, he huffed and headed to the shower area. Then while on the floor, two guys were making out in the stretching area. While I was working out on a machine, locker room guy appear again. He sat at the machine across from me, not working out, just occasionally giving me a glance. The final straw for me was when he walked into the black card member area and sat there while I was on the hydro massage bed. I finally had to tell him that we don't like the same brand. read more

I love this gym! It's right next to my work, so I have been going after my shift (around 3:45pm). There are not too many people there at that time which is nice. It's brand new, all of the machines work (and are very clean!), and the staff is friendly and willing to help. There are rows and rows of ellipticals & treadmills, and multiples of every weight machines! Yes, there is a list of rules that prohibit "lunks", but I actually find the lunk alarm kind of funny. ;) Most of the rules are those you would find at any gym; no phone calls on the gym floor, etc. For $1 to enroll and $10/month, this place is awesome! read more

My wife and I finally signed up for Planet Fitness six months after our 24 hour fitness gym was bought out by LA Fitness. We don't care for LA Fitness as their gyms are way too busy and crowdy. Gyms are trashy, feel dirty and looks dirty. The pool is cloudy and the spa is never clean because idiots keep getting in there all sweaty and dirty and don't shower before getting into the spa. Anyways, back to Planet Fitness this location is clean and smells clean. Employees are always cleaning. We paid $1 and signed up for the black card membership which will be $19.99 per month and gives us access to the gym 24/7. With our membership we get to use the massage chairs and massage aqua tables plus tanning. We get half price drinks off water and powerade plus vitamin water. Massage chairs are five minutes per use and you get the tokens from the front desk. The aqua massage tables are good for 10 minutes but you have to go to the front desk for them to activate. I am sure you can use them both as long as you want especially after midnight. Other wise, I am told you have to reserve them per waiting list. You get a free T-Shirt for signing up. There is free pizza first Monday of month and free bagels during first Tuesday of month. There is also free small candy available at front desk if you need a sugar boost. If you don't care for the massage chair/tanning/aqua massage you can skip and enjoy the gym for just $10 per month. I love the 30 Minute and 12 minute work out stations. You get a great work out for the whole body. No swimming pools. No hot tubs. No steam/sauna rooms but they do have large clean showers. Planet Fitness is simple and a inexpensive way to work out and it's open 24 hours!!!! We will be cancelling our membership at LA Fitness we don't have a contract with them. read more

This is my local gym so no major complaints. Plenty of parking and love the idea of "Veteran parking". Always clean and plenty of machines. Never too busy. Everyone seems friendly. You can't beat the rate, this is a no frills gym. I don't watch TV commercials so those don't bother me. It's not crowded at all. I can work out and no one bothers me. When I joined I peppered them with safety questions like; How many employees work here in the evening? How many cameras? Who and when do they patrol the parking lot? There is a lot of parking lot activity with the Garcia's, Laser Quest and McDonald's in the same lot, so that helps. Check it out. read more

Ok. So we use to belong to the Lifetime Club in Scottsdale. While luxurious - it was way too intense and ungodly expensive. The people were rarely genuine and mostly into appearance vs. just focusing on the workouts. Then the equipment was always breaking! The club was always trying to up-sell training fees and various products to you. Fast forward now to recently joining the Planet Fitness close to my new residence and we are TOTALLY enjoying the experience. Laid back, great/simple machines, awesome circuit set-ups, clean facility, functional/comfy locker rooms + showers and free tanning (not that I would use that,) hydro massages and electronic chair massages! PLUS I can bring my 15 y/o kid as a guest for FREE. All for 20 bucks a month. AND open 24/7. ANNNND I can go to any location I want. Are you kidding me? My kid loves it and says he prays this location never goes anywhere. I'm sorry it took us this long to join. read more

The club as far as equipment is suitable the equipment is not top-of-the-line but definitely OK for a work out. I really like the massage beds and infrared that only comes with the $21 plus tax which is about $25 a month fee and you cannot cancel for a year.? The staff is very young but they all are fairly friendly above all this place is very new as it just opened and very clean help as far as using the equipment is always available which is nice it is only three minutes from my house so I will ditch LA fitness which is filthy!!!and work out at planet fitness read more

Worst customer service ever. I tried to sign up for a black card membership but because I am not from Phoenix they said I couldn't use it when I got back to Texas, even though the main reason for upgrading to the black card membership is to use it at all locations. So I asked for a day pass & to my surprise they charged 20 dollars for a day pass. I bought it at 9 pm and was rudely told it expired at midnight. The pudgy clerks were being dicks for no reason. Not a single "hello" Or "thank you". Never going back again. Also the equipment was dirty and it was cramped. read more

BEWARE!! staff members are giving out personal information. I have been going to this gym for the past 6 months or so and one of the employees, called Derek, gave out my information to a guy who I didn't know. As I found out, Derek looked up my information on the system and he could have disclosed my address, even my bank account number with that stranger. I ended up moving away from this gym shortly after I joined. I went in and cancelled my membership a little over a month ago. When I cancelled they forced me to pay for another month, which is ridiculous. Now a month later they've charged me again. When I called, the girl I spoke to said I would have to come in with a statement showing the charge in order to get a refund. That is awful. Because of their mistake, I have to go out of my way to fix it?! Even though over the phone she said oh yeah, I see your cancellation form in our system. This place is dishonest and will steal your money, so be sure to check your bank statements if you ever cancel. They probably hope you just won't notice. read more

I can say this place is pretty nice and accessible. My only true downfalls are the men behind the counter, one chick who needs clear eyes, and an old dude using this place to get new clients (of which i was told they know about him and have told him "not to", but he continues). 9 times out of 10, they are on their phones. As much as i see other members leaving machines dirty or weights un-racked, that is a time filler for the employees. I know the signs all say to clean and or re-rack, lets be real, 80% will never do either. Other than that, my wife and I enjoy it, at minimum, 5 days a week. Very close and convenient. Nice to see people there putting in the effort and not to make it a meat market type-o-place. read more
