I was so impressed by the Studio Red Class and the incredible instructor/coach!! I had previously done Orange Theory and I was looking for a new gym with a HIIT style class but wanted other class options as well. I definitely found it. Nikki was the instructor/coach and she created such a fun environment. She made me feel so welcome and provided clear instructions for how the class is run. She kept the whole class motivated and engaged. I would highly suggest taking one of her classes. read more

VASA ENDORSES HARASSMENT I canceled my membership at the Vasa gym at Ray & Alma School because I was harassed by an older man while working with my personal trainer. He became angry because I was using a machine "too long" during my workout (20 min for 4 sets on hip thrust, 2 other machines were available). This man followed me around the gym for the rest of my hour-long training session staring at me attempting to intimidate me. I reported this unacceptable behavior to gym management, and they endorsed his actions. My trainer was written up for allowing me to use the equipment "too long", and the individual who harassed me is still allowed to use the facilities. I no longer feel safe working out at Vasa, and I am outraged that no action was taken to address my concerns. This is not a safe place for women to work out. read more

To the management I'm just curious I'm thinking about joining but after seeing all of these negative reviews does the management really ever check into anything like they say on the comments. Or do you just say that they're going to check into it. I see things about dirty and nasty gross machines. Violent people in the women's locker room taken photographs and videos. I don't want to join a gym or I have to worry about people feeling in the locker room and people getting in my face threatening me. I'm just curious will this be a safe environment for me and I have a low immune system am I going to catch diseases or sicknesses from this location? read more

My experience here, the one time I did go, was good. I signed up with them through my health insurance, in the One Pass Program. Girls at the front were nice. Tour of the facilities was good. And took a peek at the Daycare Area. I took a Yoga Class with a sweet instructor. I like that they have an indoor pool, which seems underutilized, and a basketball court. While the Yoga Class was good, I was right under a fan/AC, which made it very cold for me, and the glass around the room was see through and the rear of the class faced "The Yard" where there is some heavy lifting going on. There is a movie theatre cardio room, but the projector was down. There are cubbies for your belongings, but no towel service is offered. The parking was pretty busy, but I'm sure if you go in the off times that you can find a spot, no problem ;) read more

It's disgusting that they allow people to film at all times even in the locker room. I have seen people going into the sauna to shoot porn. In a private setting you have an expectation of privacy according to the law! The clueless employees are too busy at the front desk surfing on their phones instead of walking around and keeping the facility safe and stocked with supplies. This gym was ok for a few months until the sauna went down. Also blocked off about 1/4 of gym. Loads of kids on their phones sitting on equipment. No one cleans anymore. So I ended my membership and now go to another gym read more

Please do yourself a favor and find a different gym. Their customer care is nonexistent. I was screamed at and threatened bodily harm by another member who was filming in the locker room, which is obviously a violation of rules and my privacy. I simply asked her not to be doing that and she lost her mind. She had her finger in my face, kept advancing toward me, yelling expletives and threats. I immediately took it up with the front desk, where she yelled "stop being a c*nt" over and over again at top volume while I tried to explain what happened. Despite all of this, this violent woman is still allowed a membership to the gym. You would think they would have a zero tolerance policy toward violence, but I guess not. The general manager, Jackie, kept me hanging for ten solid days waiting for a resolution. She dodged my phone calls repeatedly, and when I finally spoke to her, she told me that this violent, locker room filming person still gets to have a membership and if that makes me feel unsafe I need to take it up with the police. Here's the kicker-- I'm not allowed to know her name. Jackie "has to protect the members." Except for me, from violent members who threaten me, I guess. Jackie never once apologized for my experience, either with the violent person, or her own conduct of ignoring my phone calls. In fact, she went on the defensive instead, saying she has more to do in a day than return phone calls. This may be, but how much of it is more important than resolving a violent incident that happened on her watch? I have now lost ten days of access to the gym due to her grossly mishandling this incident, and now I have to go somewhere else because she refuses to make it safe for me to go there. Now, we all know that if Jackie herself had been called a c*nt and threatened with bodily harm, this would have ended differently for the violent woman. Who knows, maybe the violent person is friends with Jackie. Maybe she slipped her some cash to keep her membership. Someone that unstable has probably run herself out of more than a few places with that kind of behavior, so it wouldn't surprise me. The bottom line is, if one incident can be so poorly managed, you have to ask what else is going on there? read more

This location used to be fantastic 3 years ago when I I left overcrowded Eos Fitness to join. But nowadays, the maintenance at this location is horrible. I really enjoy the steam and dry saunas after my workout. But about half the time, the STEAM sauna is not working properly and it usually smells horrible like mildew and body odor! And when I bring it up at the front desk, I get the usual "we'll have maintenance look at it". And the next day or so it's the same half-ass working and stinky sauna. The dry sauna is not much better and nor are the showers. I went swimming a couple times one week and saw blood on the shower wall that was there the next day! I didn't use that stall but had to check out of curiosity. Obviously the showers are not cleaned daily and that's gross. Ladies, wear your shower shoes and beware! They used to have great snacks (like protein chips) to grab before you go but now it's just a fridge full of drinks and some protein cookies and such. Disappointing! read more

I just signed up for this place, and I have had no problems so far. I would like to personally thank the staff. When I asked if they had an assault bike, they pointed me in the direction of the studio, which had what I needed. Then the coach at the time asked if I would like a workout. My pregnant wife has taught cycle here for 5 years and was informed today they will be cancelling cycle effective immediately. She was given no notice in advance and we are losing a significant portion of our income due to this right before our baby is supposed to arrive. Even worse, they still haven't informed members that cycle will be cancelled and there is a class on the schedule tomorrow that she is supposed to teach. This location gets so crazy busy but in the almost 6 months I've been coming I must say staff on site are all very kind and professional. I'm a gym rat so I have a few different memberships in the valley and this is one of my favorite gyms. They always have music anyone can workout to, great vibe and plenty of equipment. The sauna is nice and hot and not in need of repair like most gym's, same with the equipment... everything's fixed within a day or two as far as I've noticed and I use almost every piece of equipment. I would've definitely given 5 stars if it weren't for a billing issue to where I had switched my card on file in the location to be charged and the switch wasn't made for both recurring charges and my monthly charge causing FIVE $25.00 NSF fees to be charged by my bank. I called 801 998 2813 today after failing to have the bank reverse the fees which is understandable since they made no error and the kind young lady was only able to offer me my $9.99 monthly fee for free one month. I'm paying $125 because of Vasa's error and in turn saving $9.99.... doesn't seem fair. If you change your payment method, make sure they switch it completely in their system you're not paying for the error later. read more

Specially after they just took out the payment today and I tried to call and cancel and they wanted to charge me $82 to cancel. Like really the 107 dollars you guys took out wasn't enough . I can only speak for the equipment with this review, I don't really care for the classes or the coaches but the machines have always been excellent, disinfectant wipes that are top tier I think, plenty of space between the machines, lots of cables and weighted machines of course you have the occasional one breaking down of course, but it's rare and always fixed within the week. sauna and steam room especially are wonderful amenities I do appreciate, showers are nice to have along with the lockers, I think the restrooms can smell better but there are lots of dudes using them so I understand. read more

Love my gym! See so many negatives which I don't understand.. but me and my hubby have been apart of this gym for about 3 months! I was like everyone a skeptic reading reviews and it discouraged me! (About money, hours and just focused on the bad reviews) we were at planet fitness for about 2 in a half maybe shorter we liked the (hours) and the me ever ship price wasn't so bad either.. but then our gym routine got boring! No motivation and just lacking the want to go to the gym! (Got tired of the gym! Was paying monthly and not going) So we needed a refresh button! My husband had always wanted to join vasa but it was me that just was like ahhh no but he convinced me to do a walk around and your the gym so we did. We did a tour and everyone was super friendly! You look around and you just get a different feel for gym life! I got annoyed going to planet because it felt like some just go for meet up and meeting their future spouse! (Which is A ok for them) but then at Vasa when you look around everyone looks focused with one thing in Mind (healthy, Workout, goals) equipment takes some getting use to.. I was so comfortable with planet fitness equipment going to vasa was learning from the basics! Tour we got of Vasa got to see whole gym, everyone really friendly! They showed us the Red studio classes, water Arobic(that is most likely spelled wrong) classes! Massage room, tanning and other gym benefits cycling Classes too! So many other things I just can't remember (Pool) sauna, sweat room etc! So the friendly service and just a different feel of being Motivated work out classes to get the push into work out and pushing myself! At first I was intimidated because I didn't know about anything just little basic workouts! But now after being apart of Vasa it seriously feels like a Gym Family! If your newbie, don't know or just intimidated about the gym! Everyone at Vasa are so friendly! And so very helpful! And very patient and always smiling.. we haven't had issues with financial and then over sharing our acct! But what I can Say is that Vasa Gym! Is amazing! And would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for that refresh button to your gym routine!! This is just my review ... it works for me and my hubby! They also have a band that keeps you motivated with the membership type you go with ours comes with a heart rate and also it's amazing because you get monthly target numbers which motivates me and my hubby to hit those numbers.. and also compete with each other! Oh, Hailey, how you need a lesson in creative problem solving and customer service, dear. I visited today at 4:40 pm with a guest, as I pay extra to bring someone. Typically, the guest pass requested on the app never goes through, which it didn't, despite trying my guest's, as well as my, email address, and the front desk clerk will just have my guest complete the registration and waiver on a tablet. That did not happen with Hailey today. There is clearly an IT glitch on VASA's app, as this has always been an issue. She would not help me & directed me to call customer service. I asked to cancel the option to bring a guest in, she advised me to call customer service. She did not provide the phone number, she did not ask a manager to help, nor did she have the intelligence, nor motivation to help the customers standing in front of her. She could've called for me or found a solution. I asked her why I had to call if I was standing in front of a customer service person, and she said I still had to call customer service and that there is nothing she can do and that it's a "liability". I asked to have my guest sign the waiver on the tablet, so what "liability" she's referring to, I'm not sure of. I asked for a one time work around, being I'm a long time customer, again, she would not even try to help or think of solutions. She could've easily had the guest pass sent to the location's email address, to her own phone, tried to send the pass to my guest, for good measure, or asked a higher up for help, but she was too lazy and unintelligent to do so. I will be cancelling my membership, as Vasa has clearly gone downhill and it shows. The turn over is awful at this location, the locker room is always dirty, and the pointless "customer service" kids stand there on their phones doing nothing, not even scanning people in, they don't make eye contact nor make the place welcoming at all. Isn't it their job to help customers when they need help? What are they being paid for, exactly? Can someone please tell me?! OPERATING VASA FITNESS ILLEGALLY It is absolutely illegal for you and your company that you work for not to allow members to cancel their membership unless they pay you money. The correct process and the legal process is to allow someone to cancel their membership if they want to and then if you feel that they owe your company money, you can pursue that separately. Vasa fitness claims that they are a no contract.Cancel any time , GYM which is absolutely NOT TRUE. Once you sign up for this no contract, cancel any time Jim. They have you install the app on your phone once you install the app you initial. Where the representative tells younder. The impression that it is only to allow the yearly membership fee, but again that is not true. I've been trying to cancel my membership since July 15th. Which is when my billing cycle starts. Your company has still not allowed me to cancel my membership. And is still continuing to bill me and call me at 7:30 AM in the morning telling me that I owe them money. Even though I have paid you guys every month, I tried to cancel and they still have not allowed me to cancel without paying them money money. They say that I owe them for not providing a 30 day notice and there is a cancelation fee as well. Something that was not told to me and does not comply with cancel any time false advertising, not to mention. You are still trying to bill me and not allowing me to cancel my membership. Second time in a month I've noticed someone with Nazi tattoos/clothing. This evening it was a guy with a t-shirt with SS bolts and a swastika tattoo on his leg. About a month ago it was a guy wearing a tank top with "white power" tattoos on each arm. If there's no policy against overt displays of racism that's all I need to never step foot in this place again. Also- did I mention this place is a shithole? I figured this was a Vasa thing but after visiting the locations on east Thunderbird and Northern Ave, I realized it's just this location that is gross. do not put your debit card on file, they will mistakenly take your money and not rush to refund you. you have to wait for the complaint to be given to another representative than after that they'll decide if you receive a check or debit refund. oh and not sure what country the rep lives in cause he has no clue what an over draft fee is. oh and than they still want you to send proof that you where charged an overdraft fee. we'll see how long all this takes. I told them to just put the money towards my monthly bill of course they can't just handle it and do it. Was hoping I could leave a 0 out of 5. Have been going to this gym for a while now... have 10 friends who also attend this gym that I recruited over because the gym was cool, decent environment, and the staff was friendly. Of course I'd spread the word on good quality anywhere I go. This vasa however is not quality. It's extremely disappointing to even write this review because the place was solid. I'd gladly sit down and talk to any manager and employee about systems and customer service. I can gladly sit down and teach some responsibility and not cutting corners. It's very simple. Good things happen to good systems. There is a reason the reviews here are poor. The proof is in the pudding. Customer service is great from the young employees there. It's the management that seems to act younger than the high school/ college kids working behind the front desk. To the young employees there, you don't need to put up with poor management. Go out and find yourself a better paying position with more respect. The leadership here is poor. On multiple occasions I've seen them chase down gym members to bitch them out. Im not sure if the women leadership here are on a power trip but it's sad to watch. People want to go to the gym to be left alone not harassed by management. Also, this saddens me to even mention but this is a family gym. On one occasion I walked into the bathroom and witnessed two middle school/high school boys giving each other the business. Yes, sex. This is beyond disgusting whether it was 2 boys or 2 girls or 2 dogs. This wrong and staff should have the awareness to know when shit is going down in their gym. However, no staff walks around and supervises anything. Just look around the place and it is filthy and trashy. So, Early March of 2022 I went in to sign up for two memberships. One for myself and one for my fiancé. When entering to sign up, the man who signed us up refused to show us the gym. Instead he just spouted things at us and what the gym offers without giving us at least a walk around. Which is usually provided to new members or potential members when signing up. He stated "he was too busy" to do it. So we said "alright" an I went on to look through the tablet of information. He was so rude and inconsiderate kept rushing me to just fill out the information and put my banking info in that I couldn't even read most of it. He's like "it's just saying that you accept our terms and policy. Like breaking equipment, using facilities properly, your conduct at the gym. Yadda yadda nothing crazy" I was like "oh ok" signed everything and then that was it. He's like ok download the app and sign in and then you can come in starting tomorrow and start using that facility. What he refused to tell me was that I would be charged an absurd amount of money annually, I can't cancel my gym membership at all. Even if I'm pregnant and unable to physically work out now. An that if I tried to cancel my membership I would be charged somewhere around $100. Or that if I can't afford to cancel it I could freeze it. BUT ONLY one membership. An it only freezes for 30 days. An it cost money to freeze it. This gym is a huge joke/scam. Don't sign up for them. Their customer service is awful. Just go to another gym. At least they will walk you around and show you what's provided. Not ignore you then treat you like shit trick you into a contract and then treat you like shit again. Absolutely hands down the most disrespectful staff. I asked to have the music turned down, "well we don't have access to those settings". What? It's so loud I had my headphones up to nearly 90% of their capacity and still couldn't hear my own music. I don't want to hear your stupid crap top 40 drivel. But what am I supposed to expect from employees who spend more time on their phone than actually doing anything. The training is a joke, you're training people to have unattainable success, not lasting results they can see. I could excuse the dirty locker room and dirty surfaces throughout the entire gym. I reactivated my son's Vasa membership on February 18, 2022 since had a membership pre-pandemic. On February 21 I got a welcome email. On March 18 I got a notice saying they were going to take out the annual rate guarantee fee. At no time did they ever email or reach out to say they could not bill us. They didn't take anything out and my son went to the gym once. We figured it wasn't really activated because my bank account has plenty of money and our bank information was linked before and they billed us just fine. They never ever said "renew your billing information" or let us know we needed to update our account. Today I got a collection notice and the account has been turned over to collections. Literally the first time I have heard from them since reactivating in February. Not acceptable customer communications. Do not do business with this gym/brand. Do not recommend. read more

This review is for the Senior Fit class on M W F at 1030am. The instructor is Jeanne May. This class is awesome, and it really comes down to the instructor, Jeanne. While the name may be "Senior" Fit, Jeanne treats us as fully committed adults looking to improve our fitness. We do cardio, we lift weights, we use bands, steps and yes, a chair. But don't let the chair fool you, this class isn't for sissies. It's a workout! Jeanne is a great motivator without being condescending. She expects a lot and gets it! She is always upbeat, but acknowledges that we're working hard and appreciates it! Her dedication shows and her expertise is unparalleled. read more

First off let me say I'm not even the type to get on here and write reviews unless a place is overly exceptional and needs to be discovered and given their recognition or absolutely terrible and need to be stayed away from. Well this place is the latter. I decided to go in yesterday and sign up for a membership. The young lady that took me over to the sign up tables seemed extremely excited until... Once she realized she actually had to work to explain what the gym had to offer and why they were a better option than their competitors (which I didn't even ask her to do) she completely lost interest and became extremely irritable. She then hands me the iPad and tells me "just put your first name, email, and date of birth", so me being the listener that I am I put my first name, email and DOB and hand her the iPad back then she asks me for my last name, address, and phone number. So I ask her "I thought you said just put your first name, email, and date of birth?" She says "yea you have to fill out the rest of the information." So now I see the young lady becoming less warm because I called her out I guess. Any other place I've been where someone was trying to get me to sign up for their service they were extremely welcoming and vibrant but any time I'd ask anything she'd act as if I was just supposed to know. Now she takes on this attitude of wanting to just get the sign up over with, which is fine because I no longer wanted to be interacting with such a nasty energy. After we complete the sign up she storms off with an attitude. So I finally start my work out and kind of had to discover the facility on my own because I know there was no way little miss grumpy face was going to be kind enough to show me around. In her defense it may have been busy she could have been working all day, whatever. But the facility is pretty damn impressive which is why I think they're able to maintain if their workers are anything like her. So come to find out they are. I call to cancel my membership the day after my experience and NELSA is even worse than the girl that signed me up. I tell her about my experience and the first thing that comes out of her mouth is a lie. She says "yea I know who you are I LISTENED IN ON THE CONVERSATION." I say ok, "you said you listened in on the conversation what was said?" NELSA begins to stutter, and gives this vague description of anyone's conversation that would be signing up. I say, "no you just lied and said you listened to the conversation. WHAT DID YOU HEAR?" Of course she starts to back track and say "she told me..." No NELSA you lied and said YOU HEARD which was impossible being over 20ft away as busy as it was with the music blasting. So now I'm extremely frustrated because NELSA is worse than the other young lady. So I just let her know I want to cancel my membership and after her fake apology for the "miscommunication" we got that completed. In short the facility is amazing but the customer service from the two young ladies I experienced was terrible. It makes sense why this location is rated so low with such a great facility but in short most the people I've spoke with that have had a good experience say that signed up online and don't really interact with the employees so I guess if you want to have a good experience sign up online. read more
