FAUD was done to me. I've heard horror stories of planet fitness just taking money from accounts after closed/ double payments. It happened to me, I called to speak with the manager "Juan" but he is never there to take calls. Juan, the manger won't give his employees an email to provide to customers, to follow up for concerns. When I asked Brandon (another employee very polite) when is "The manger "Juan" there? He's suppose to be there Monday from Friday till 9am 5 pm. But He's never there. Planet Fitness took $125 from me and has never gave my money back. I've since then closed that card & this planet fitness account, they are still pulling funds from me! I have written proof I'm not a member and I still haven't gotten my funds back. I can't reach the manger to explain I just want my $125 back, and I hope no one else has to go through this. In this economy this is extremely stressful and fraud. Please Help. Really sad. We just want them to open with the temp power outage and let people use unpowered equipment until they can fix the power issue. Also, they had it working before in July for half a day. So do the same fix as before but unplug half the equipment. Most likely they just have toomuch stuff plugged into the circuit. Just unplug stuff and slowly add it back. So many people love this location but the current lack of communication and extended closure is really bad. Currently it has been closed for the past 2 weeks with a partial power issue. Lights and AC are on, but they had issues with the powered equipment and TVs. So instead of staying open and letting people use equipment that does not need power, like half the gym, they just closed. You cannot contact them in person or phone. It took them a week to update the website and support number saying they were closed. Also, once they are back up and running they really need to update the hours in Google and the app to reflect the actual hours posted on the sign on the doors. Support and the app think it is open 24 hours during the week but the sign says they close from 10pm-12am. PS to the Planet Fitness person who replies. It is great the App says it is closed due to a power loss. It to me and others calling the support line many times over the first week of closure and they finally added that last Update: Called them last Wed and they ordered the part needed for repair. Should be fixed this week. They were also closed because touch less sinks needed power to turn on/off. Monday. The first week only had a sign on the door and the only way to see they were closed was to drive there. Also, don't ask me to email the social account. I've been going most consistently to this gym since before COVID 19. I saw a lot change over the years, but this place has been consistently well managed. They've even made little changes to the locker room that go along way, like making sure all the shower stalls have a shelf. My only gripe is machines probably needing to be oiled more often, since sometimes the cable based machines get sticky on the pull. read more

10/2/25: We just barely joined this gym & only had the chance to work out 2-3x since it's been closed the rest of the time due to electricity issues that keep recurring without a permanent fix. Staff are terribly incompetent when they entered incorrect account information, no apologies & unwilling to take accountability for their errors. Please save yourself time, effort & finances by joining a different gym. 10/5/25 Update: Per the business owner's reply, I sent a detailed email explaining my experience to social@planetfitness.com and will keep an eye out for a reply from them. Really disappointed in Planet Fitness. The Alhambra location has been closed for 4 months supposedly for power outage. It really doesn't take that long to fix that issue. this gym seems to be a great gym and it's available 24/4... I noticed that most of the "24/5" gyms are actually only open 24/4, because they close a couple hours early on Friday, open late on Saturday and Sunday, and also close early on Saturday and Sunday. Generally speaking, this gym is very spacious, however, it seems that there's so much space that some of the areas seem empty or pointless. I believe that as a result, there is a bit of disorganization, mostly in the terms of free-weights because there is one main area that has dumbbells and then a sort of awkward dumbbell area next to the yellow machines, however aren't complete sets. Terribly incompetent staff, management is even worse. After two years, I tried to make a change to my membership in January 2026 without canceling but manager Jesus never returned my calls and hand-written messages left at the front desk. Zeus Armenta, the club manager is equally incompetent and does not return messages- in his frustration with my request & complaint he marked my account closed and labeled my account: "Canceled Due to Policy Violation" which is a lie. The management places untrained people that cannot help you at the front desk while they hide in back rooms or work remotely so they do not have to speak with customers. Management usually blows off returning calls or messages. If they respond at all, it is via email so they do not have to hear your request or valid complaints in person. A pathetic management team that is rightfully embarrassed to show their faces or speak directly with members. When you can't get face to face service, wait until you attempt to call the club- an automated computer places you on hold, then hangs up after a few minutes without any employee answering the call. When I brought up this issue with front desk staff, they replied: "Yes we have phone problems we are trying to fix." Know this- they fix nothing at Planet Fitness and will soon be out of business. I already filed a complaint with a case number & nothing came from that so why file another complaint, just moving on. There is a reason why the Planet Fitness Yelp rating is 2 stars. They charged me a $40 annual fee and won't refund my money! I haven't worked out here in over a year and don't mind paying monthly. When I tried to cancel my membership they made it super difficult. I finally spoke to someone that could get my membership cancelled over the phone by emailing the manager. However, corporate Planet Fitness won't return my emails about refunding my annual fee that I can't afford. Spend your money at a better gym that cares about their customers! read more

Tonight I went to Planet Fitness at 1625 W. Camelback Road in Phoenix, Arizona. When I arrived, there was confusion about my membership being transferred from another gym. At the front desk, Manager Nessa figured out the problem right away and explained how to check in going forward. Nessa was professional and knowledgeable. People like Nessa are the reason I recommend Planet Fitness to colleagues. read more

They are the best, the staff is attentive the machines are easy to use. I cannot walk but they never treated me as a handicapped person, but if I need assistance they are willing to help. The only negative is the staff turnover, you get use to the staff and all of a sudden the face you are use to are gone. read more

I actually really like this PF location. It's clean, the staff are very nice and proactive, and there are plenty of machines - I never feel crowded like I have at other PF locations. However, I will say that it's frustrating that during the winter (now through probably Feb or March) they run the heater. This is Phoenix, and it's often 65 degrees outside when they have the heater on. There's no reason to be wasting electricity like this and it's incredibly uncomfortable to work out with hot air blowing on you. read more

In the past, I loved coming here. After a bad back injury (separate from the gym, promise), I took a year off to heal properly. Well, 4th of July weekend comes around and I'm PUMPED to go back! I changed my sleep schedule, bought the right snacks, and got ready to roll in and take that gym by STORM! ...only to be standing at the gym on Monday at 4am to find that it was closed. Had been closed. Will be closed. And now I have to drive 8x the distance to go to the next closest one. Somehow the one I go to now is in an even more spooky part of town. The app still says Alhambra's open, and PF's site still does too. Very saddening, but the Glendale location will suffice until they figure out the power outage issue. read more

I've been a black card member for over 7 years. (No longer) I joined for the tanning booths. It was a great way to get a tan. Our Planet Fitness was brand new and everything worked. After about two years the tanning booths started falling into disrepair. The tanning bulbs were starting to go out. You talk to the manager and they say they have ordered them. Over the last 5 years very few bulbs were ever replaced. I talked to the Manager yesterday and was told (once again) that they are on order. "We are a low priority store." Our store is one of forty in Phoenix, owned by a group. Do you know how that makes you feel to be a low priority customer? Try to talk to someone that operates these forty stores. GOOD LUCK! Try to call Planet Fitness Corporate. GOOD LUCK! I canceled my membership that day. Pleaseeeeeee put the TrueStretch back!!! Recently this location on Camelback was blessed with an influx of brand new (even smells new) equipment. All of the treadmills and a lot of other random stuff I don't know the names of but they're nice. I've recently moved to the area and this is my new gym close to home, always clean and all staff so far have been extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend others come here but do use the app so you know what kind of crowd to expect. Again, PLEASE PUT THE TRUESTRETCH EQUIPTMENT BACK :) my knee has started to hurt because I run a lot and rely on that lovely piece of equipment. Thank you!!! read more

This has to be one of the most disgusting gyms I've ever been to. Showers are no being cleaned after homeless people leave behind muck & hair on walls. The manager is no help, walks around avoiding responsibility. Everyone seems to point the finger at one another leaving nobody in charge. I feel like this was a pretty good planet fitness. They had a lot of room in there stretching area and the locker rooms were very spacious. Definitely one of the better ones when it comes to that. Please hire enough staff that have time to step away and clean the showers/restrooms or hire a professional cleaning company to do it. I love Planet Fitness and the atmosphere, but to have to come to shower in these showers after a workout is not acceptable. We have no choice but to use the facilities since many have to go to work or school after workouts. I have sent emails to management at phoenixalhambra.az@planetfitness.com and received no response. Their was a brief period when a young lady would clean in the morning but no one else seems to do it. These shower conditions are both in men and womens showers. A wretched club. I joined because they have a 30-minute machine circuit that is in its own section. On several occasions members who have been using the machines without doing the circuit have given up the machine to let me do my set, and then got back on when I was done. Not so today. A member refused to give up the machine so I asked staff to intervene. But the staff person did nothing except point out the rule. When I went to get on the machine I was shoved by this member with her shoulder and I instinctively pushed back with my hands. Then a bit of a shouting match. Rather than the rule breaker being shown the door, I was. And I find out my membership was cancelled. Good riddance. read more

I was formerly a member of another gym and paying $15 more for a monthly membership. While I may not have access to a basketball, Racquetball court, sauna or pool (which I never used anyway) I do use the Black card services such as the massage chairs and beds and that alone makes it worth it. The PF employees at this location are super duper nice. They often greet me and and most of them even know by name. I didn't even know that PF offered free training classes. I have to say Miguel is a great trainer and while classes are ONLY 30 minutes, the classes are INTENSE because they are HIIT. I am so happy I joined this gym and I enjoy coming here to work out. No muscle heads, no big egos just people working out! read more

This is my favorite gym! I love it!! Number one - when I come to this gym it's never to packed where I can't use a machine. I never see a bunch of juice heads walking around trying to hit on you that's my favorite part about this gym if you are really going to try to better your self and not have to do it with all eyes on you this place is the place for you! I love how they serve coffee and pizza on certain days it goes to show all shapes and size you don't have to give up all the food you love and go to the gym every day to be skinny you can get to your goal and still enjoy the things you love to eat just like anyone else with cheat days so that's a big bonus for me! Staff they are always great very friendly kind helpful I always see them going above and beyond for there customers even when its busy. Cleanliness i always always clean up before and after and for the most part I've always seen everyone clean up after themselves also tanning beds clean and tidy machines clean and always ready to use never out of service. Was here for a couple months but ended up moving to the west side. I went to go cancel only to find out I was charged a $50 annual fee even though I had only been there for like a month at this point. then 2 weeks later when I officially cancelled I was told I was going to be billed for the next month even though I canceled before the next bill date. it's infuriating and honestly a scam and I don't say that about a lot of things. Boy oh boy this place has made numerous improvements since I've first started coming to this location. They have built a brand-new locker room, more fitness equipment,lots of of fresh paint, and the list goes on, but please keep in mind that this is still a work in progress, but hey Rome wasn't built in a day, and it'll eventually be worth the wait. Nice and clean, usually not too busy and plenty of treadmills! I've been going 3 times a week for several months, and I've liked it. HOWEVER. There is a pair of heavyset women who work the front desk during the morning shift, and they are awful. Lazy, rude and unprofessional. They never greet me, and I often have to sign myself into the place because they don't do it themselves. I try to not go in the mornings because I dislike them so much. I don't expect to be treated like a king (I work in customer service so I get it) but they aren't doing the bare minimum. I love this gym. It's open 24/7. It's clean, it's very very close to my house and you can't beat $10 a month. There are always cardio equipment and free weights available and it's not jam packed. I'm giving it 4 stars only because they picked up my keys and maybe threw them away? once because I left them on the pony wall next to the ab machines while I worked out (which I've done for two years, every time I go). The girl that said they "lost" them was from another location and claimed they disappeared but hours after I uber'd home, an employee called and said someone miraculously found and turned them in. I gave this location 2 stars because the equipment was in good condition. I have been through 25 states the last year and i frequently stop at the local Planet Fitnesses to work out and I usually shower afterwards. First, the person who checked me in never even said hello or anything else while she scanned my card. She was a heavy set dark haired girl. This same person didn't even say goodbye when I left. Nothing even though I saw her look right at me. As you can see with the attached photos, the showers were disgusting. Every single shower had something in it. I chose the less of all of them. I hate to think of the type of members who frequent this location. I definitely will not be coming back to this location. And I will be telling anyone else I know to avoid it. read more

I've worked out here at various times throughout the day and the above statement is always true. I highly recommend the black card membership because for $21/mo you can get a massage... everyday, all day. Lots of locations, I have been to a few. Camelback is not good, old etc, but they are rebuilding it. The newer locations are great, with good new equipment. Love the hydromassage. Much cheaper than LA Fitness, where I didn't use the basketball and racquetball courts or pool. Planet fitness is more for the leisurely gym goer, which is great - obviously if you want more hard core you go other places, but for what it is, planet fitness is great. If ONLY they didn't have to subject me to FOXnews and it right wing propaganda, I'd have given them 5 stars. read more

This company sucks...you can do anything on line except cancel a membership. They need to move into the 21st century. I was given some b.s. that I needed to sign a cancellation in person or mail it to my home gym. But now I moved 2,000 miles from my home gym. The manager told me I was irresponsible for not cancelling my membership before I moved. Really??? Policies like this are designed specifically for financial reasons. They told me if I tried to stop payment through my bank, they would send me to a collection agency...for a stupid gym membership. WOW!!! I've learned my lesson.
